Shiloh's smile faltered for a moment. She gave a slight shake of her head.
"You... might be right. But I believe in this. I think we have people on our side... I don't know WHAT happened the other day. I've never seen that... that sort of violence, here. The last time I saw it was... back home. You know?"

Drake nodded.
"All too well, I'm afraid."

Shiloh took a deep breath, raising a hand to rub gently on her forehead. She gave a shake of her head.
"Do you think... that will come here? My friend, she says there won't be a war, but... What do you think?"

Drake folds his arms and contemplates for a moment before answering.
"Depends on your definition of War."
He would eventually say with a shrug.
"War as they way we knew it on our world. That's unlikely. However, War in the since of Guerilla Warfare, with small hit and run tactics in an attempt to take as many of us down as possible until we're all dead. Yes."

She flinched ever so slightly, and gave a shake of her head. The very thought of war terrified her. She had known peace here, a sense of peace she hadn't known, even in Zekunft.
Shiloh took a deep breath, and tried to smile, but it wasn't the same as the smiles from before.
"I hope not..." was all she said.

Drake sighed.
"I wouldn't be to worried about it if I were you. Keep your powers secret. And stay away from here and you will be safe."

She blinked and looked up at Drake with a furrow of her brows. She planned on keeping her powers a secret for as long as she was able, but... to stay away from the apartments?
"I will end up coming here pretty frequently because of work... and I... I don't know. Why would I stay away?" She seemed genuinely confused, and looked Drake over once again. "I mean, besides. We're... kind of friends now, right? Can't I come here to see you?"

Drake scratched his head and sighed.
"If its work as a normie, one of them, fine. But hanging out around her. Making friends with anyone. Especially me. Will only prove to be dangerous for you. You'll be target by those people if not as a meta then as a meta friendly. Either way..."
He grit his teeth.
"Actually, I was wrong. Your friend is right. There won't be a war. There will be genocide, our kind will be hunted down and destroyed no matter how much it costs the people to do it. We will be painted as evil and we will be persecuted and hated by all. So, if you really care about metas... then you have to survive. That way our legacy won't die with us."

Shiloh stared at him as he gave his speech, and she raised a hand to grasp her camera once more. It seemed to be a nervous habit of hers, grabbing something important to her so it could ground herself. She bit her lip again, and then gave a slight shake of her head. She didn't know what to say, and turned her gaze once more to the ground, standing there in silence.

Drake looked at her reaction and sighed harshly. Then he would hold out his hand.
"Give me your phone."

She glanced up at him, before searching her pockets and finding her phone in the back pocket of her pants. She slipped it out and handed it over. It was a simple smart phone in a thick, protective case.

Drake would take the phone and type in his phone number. Apparently whatever benefactor that helped them out with these apartments also chipped in to get a cellphone for every residents room, not super fancy but usable.
"There, that's my number. If you're ever in trouble just call me."

She took her phone back and looked at it. Then, she nodded, and smiled up at him. "Okay... Can I text you, too? I want to send you the link to that blog. I think you'd find it... interesting."

Rai's eye twitched.
"Sure, I don't promise to check it out. And I sure as fuck don't promise to change my mind. Undersood?"

Shiloh grinned, and nodded. She seemed extremely excited as she slipped her phone back into the same pocket. It was probably the only place that she put it... and she probably looked for it in every pocket, every time. It seemed like the kind of girl that she was.
"Of course. I understand that." Her smile brightened a little bit. "And... Thank you, Drake Sudeki."
