After the Dark Room (Shiloh and Others)

[Shiloh]

Shiloh dropped everything off and hurried to meet back up with Adel, hoping she had waited for her. She felt bare without her camera hanging around her neck, but she was uncomfortable with the thought of bringing it to the bunker... and not having it meant she could jog from her apartment.

She was out of breath by the time she got to the bunker, but even that did not chase the smile from her face.

[Xapham]

As she arrived a man would be walking on. He seemed dressed rather normally definitely not like one of the TSI agents. And while he looked kind of familiar she couldn't place from where. However, there was one, very uniquely different thing about this man. If she was observant, she might notice the halo floating above his head.

[Shiloh]

Shiloh paused to catch her breath and look around for Adelaide. She was still hoping her friend had waited for her, but she couldn't see her. The crowd milling about idly seemed content to ignore her, and she was fairly content to be ignored.

The man that meandered about didn't catch her attention, at first... not until she noticed the halo. Halo? As in, Meta? Angel? She wasn't sure. Her brow furrowed, and she stepped back slightly, her attention zeroing in on him completely.

She heard Drake's warning replay through her head as she looked at him, and she wrapped her arms defensively around herself... Maybe if she walked past him, he wouldn't see her. She ducked her head, and tried to be inconspicuous.

[Xapham]

The man would was leaving the Sudeki residence when he stopped and turned towards Shiloh's location.

"Oh, Hello there, young one."

He would say with a soft smile and softer voice.

[Shiloh]

Shiloh froze in an almost comedic stance, staring straight at the man with wide, green eyes. Pure, unadulterated fear pounded through her. Why was this man paying attention to her? She looked around, trying to see if there was anyone directly around her that he could have been talking to.

Slowly, she turned to face him once again. She pointed at herself. "M-me?" She murmured.

[Xapham]

"Of course young one."

He would say.

"Are you lost?"

[Shiloh]

"Ah... N-no. I'm not lost... What makes you say that?"

Shiloh crossed her arms behind her back and took a single step back, maintaining a healthy distance from the strange man.

[Xapham]

Xapham seemed curious.

"I apologize if I worried you, but one so young is not usually out so late. Does your family live near here?"

He would ask, it sounded... almost as though he were speaking to a small child.

[Shiloh]

She furrowed her brows in obvious confusion and tilted her head to one side.

"My... my family is dead. I'm an orphan."

[Xapham]

"Ah..."

He would say his face full of sorrow.

"I lost my family too once upon a time. But I found a new one here. I run a school for orphans, special orphans like yourself. Would you like to stay with us? You would be more than welcome, and you'd have so many brothers and sisters."

[Shiloh]

The more he spoke, the more confused Shiloh became. She rubbed her arms, trying to understand what exactly he was saying. She wasn't a child anymore... Why would she stay at an orphanage?

"Um... Nah... Thank you, though..."

[Xapham]

"Then may I at least inquire how you survive on your own?"

[Shiloh]

"Um... The same way... as everyone else. I guess."

Shiloh shrugged, staring at the man with confusion.

[Xapham]

"How old are you young one?"

[Shiloh]

"I'm twenty-one, this year," she murmured quietly.
