"I'll be alright, despite your best efforts I'm still alive and kicking."
He would say with a wink.

Lorelai nodded, and reached out to gently pat his shoulder. It was an awkward motion, especially coming from her, but it was all she could think of to try and be comforting.
"Then get a shower."
With that, she would turn to return the bokken to the wall.
