“Once you understand what you really can do, you’ll know what you need to do to be stronger. I had to stealth my way through my younger years, we were called runners, kind of a ludicrous delivery service it be. An ability like that changed tides of wars and crumbled territories in a night. You’d make great pay with it.” Avice nodded confirming what she said.

Shiloh gave a little shrug, feeling a blush creep up over her cheeks.
"I've... never really thought about something like that? I work as a photographer, right now."
She stared down at the ground. "But I'd... I'd probably be able to do that. Run messages and stuff... Nobody would even see me."

Avice chuckled. “Messages was not what we delivered. Not really... we were paid thieves. But yes... I’d start thinking about what you can do the nature of your abilities and further expand how it effects you and those around you. My power... my original power gave me some vampiric advantages but it delved further than drinking blood to gain Qi I can change the state of matter with my body. Solid, liquid, mist... but none of that is set in one path, Qi grows to adapt as you mold it. You have your building blocks and now you can make it unlike anything you could have thought.”

Shiloh nodded and continued to stare at her strange, nonsensical drawings. They gave her something to focus on, as she was uncomfortable with this stranger's gaze. She wasn't entirely sure what to say to that. She hadn't ever really imagined the things she could accomplish with her ability... It was always just... a part of her, a part of who she was.
She swallowed back her nervousness.
"You said your... original power. You can have more than one?"

“Aye that I do.” She pointed to her eyes. “These give me a whole new set of abilities and I’ve also some how or another been granted abilities unnaturally, those I can’t remember but I’ve got them nonetheless.”

Shiloh nodded thoughtfully. Drake said his eyes also made him... different. She wondered if it was common in her home world for people to switch things like their eyes. She couldn't imagine. She reached up and gently rubbed her eyes, shivering slightly.

Avice shrugged and looked back to the horizon. “There is a lot you’d do for power and... personal gains.”

"Maybe."
Shiloh gave a shake of her head. "Honestly.... there's a lot I'd do to keep the peace. I don't care about power, or any sort of title or whatever. I just want... peace. For all of us. For everybody."

“Good luck.” Was all she said to that. Avice new it was easier to piss people off than it was to make them happy and there are too many different opinions in any world to make peace but she’d not deter the girl with words that will probably be said to her a million times by skeptics for she understood how powerful one idea could be and how it might just change the way people think. It wasn’t sarcasm not did she think she couldn’t, on the contrary she hoped it was possible.

Shiloh smiled softly at that, and nodded. "Thank you..."
With that, she finally turned back to Avice, that small, gentle smile still on her face. "I'm Shiloh, by the way. I work with the local newspaper, here." She didn't hold out her hand to shake or anything, but offering her name was a big deal for the shy, quiet girl.

Avice made a habit of not asking names of people who she felt she wasn’t going to meet again. Sometimes it was a great deal easier to get to hear one’s story before they even say their own name. But she’d not leave the girl hanging.
“Avice.” She would reply.

Shiloh nodded, and then turned back to the drawings she had made. She had learned so much about her own world, and very little of it any good.
"Are... are you going to be okay here, Avice? In this world, I mean. Do you need anything?"

“I’ll manage... been on old world alone most of me life, that ban they’ve placed won’t keep me ‘er for long. I’ll find my answers and my boy one day.” She was certain of that.

Shiloh nodded. "I know you will." She offered Avice a smile, her eyes alight with childlike optimism.
"If you ever need anything... let me know? I'm not difficult to find. Or, if you have a phone, I can give you my number. You can always reach out, if you'd like."

“Someone who disappears not being difficult to find?” She laughed. “I’ve no phone, but I know how to find people.” She might not know it at the moment but there was a grin on her face and a little lifted spirit thanks to this happen chance encounter. It might have been a bit obvious to Shiloh however.
