She sniffled.

She would say obviously still shaken.

Shiloh meshed her teeth together as Adelaide spoke. She held up one finger, asking her to wait, and crawled back over to where she left the drinks. Grabbing them and boot-scooting back, she handed Adelaide her favorite energy drink, and cradled the now-only-warm coffee, sitting cross-legged in front of her.
"Oh yeah? What did you learn?"

"You mean, like... parallel universes?" Shiloh asked with a tilt of her head.
It was always a surprise to hear Shiloh speak seriously. She was such a soft, sweet girl, that it was extremely easy to forget just how intelligent the little orphan was.

Shiloh remained quiet for a moment, contemplating what Adel said. She didn't exist there... which made sense, because technically, Shiloh didn't exist HERE. Not originally, anyway.
She reached out and brushed her fingers along Adelaide's thigh, sighing softly. "But you exist here. This world is no less real than that one... I'm here, and you're here, and we're both real."

"No you aren't understanding! The Raikotsu of their world had a son with a different woman... that means that one of us isn't real in the continuity of the universe. But which one of us? Him or me?!"

Shiloh looked hurt as Adelaide stood, but she didn't try to chase after her. She wanted to comfort her friend, and if touch wasn't comforting her... she wouldn't do it. She sighed softly, remaining seated where she was, and watching Adel as she panicked.
"I don't know, Adel. I don't... I don't know much about the whole multiverse theory. But I would venture to say... you're probably both real."

She was about to start spiraling again!

Shiloh sighed softly. She really didn't know what to do here. She wanted to be able to present Adel with some sort of solid, hard fact that would make her feel better... but she just didn't know enough about everything to be able to comfort her.
"Adel..." She remained seated, trying to figure out what she could do, what she could say. "Adel, I need you to listen to me, okay? I don't... know. I don't know the answers to any of these questions... but I know what I feel, and I know that you are real. I know that I love you, and... and that it doesn't matter to me. I don't care which one of you was the fluke, or the accident, or if either of you is. I know that I love YOU, as you are, right here... right now. And I love you enough to MAKE you real, in my heart..."
She sighed softly. "I don't know if that helps at all. But it's all I have, right now."
