A Beautiful Day (Djoser/Shiloh)

[Shiloh]

The little orange haired girl was going from shop to shop, buying little welcome gifts for all of the Metas that had moved in to the apartments. She had asked Rai for a list of how many people, and the genders. She knew they were all older than her, so she focused on things that she figured they needed.

She was grinning from ear to ear as she danced out of a store with arm fulls of bags. However, as soon as she turned the corner, she came into contact with somebody, and she stumbled back.

She made a slight noise of surprise and dropped a couple of bags. Cellphones, still in the packages, fell out of the bags. "Oh! Crud." She dropped down to her knees to gather everything. "I am so sorry!"

[Djoser Aneksi]

Djoser was walking around. Nowhere to go, nothing to do, just walk and listen to music. he was dressed pretty in pink and orange florals with his hair down. He was enjoying it. So when he was bumped into, his mood was barely changed. He immediately went and started trying to help. As he finished putting all the phones in the bag he was saying "Oh my goodness I'm so sorry I don't know what came over me!"

[Shiloh]

Shiloh chuckled, allowing the stranger to help as she gathered all the gifts up and put them back in the bags.

"Don't worry about it. Its easy to get distracted here. I wasn't paying much attention either." She finally gathered up her bags and began to string them back on her arms, standing up and tilting her head to one side.

[Djoser Aneksi]

Djoser would pick up the gift bags that felt first, standing up with a smile.

"Please, let me help. My name is Djoser, but please, call me Dj."

[Shiloh]

"Djoser? Oh wow. Thats a beautiful name! Its nice to meet you, DJ!"

Shiloh managed to roll the "r" in his name ever so slightly, though it was obviously a foreign name on her tongue. She let him grab the bags and motioned with her head for him to follow her, a gentle smile across her face.

"Thank you for the help. My name is Shiloh. Its a real pleasure to meet you!"

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would blush. "It is Egyptian. Shiloh is also quite pretty."

He seemed surprised that she pronounced it right the first time, it brought a warm memory of his early childhood, and it warranted the sweetest smile playing on his lips.

"It's a pleasure to meet you and an even bigger one to help. Would you happen to know someone named Adelaide?"

[Shiloh]

Shiloh's smile immediately brightened, and her eyes lit up with joy at the mention of her best friend. As the two walked, a skip entered her step.

"Adel? Oh yeah, thats my best friend! Probably shouldn't call her Adel to her face though. She barely let's me get away with it." She chuckled.

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj chuckled with how much joy the mention brought Shiloh. "I met her earlier, she seems like a really awesome friend. She also talked about all the amazing things you have done for the metas. I want to give my personal thanks, people like you pave a better tomorrow for us."

[Shiloh]

Shiloh continued to smile. The mention of Adelaide chased away any of the fear or anxiety that should have come up at the very thought of being the presence of yet another Meta. She reached up to gently press two fingers into the slight dip of her collarbone.

"Its... Its nothing special. Its nothing more than what any decent person should do." Yet, she couldn't keep herself from wondering what her friend must have said. She didn't really think she had done much.

[Djoser Aneksi]

He chuckled. "Yeah she said the same thing. The thing is you are treating us like we are normal. This is a huge piece of the puzzle to finally making it safe for both sides to exist." Dj would be beaming, excited to be grateful. "This world is a new opportunity. I was born in one that was dying. Any chance I get to make this one better, even marginally is enough to celebrate. The same goes for you!"

[Shiloh]

Shiloh's skip in her step faded away as DJ spoke of his home, and how it was dying. The thought of the pain and suffering of the old world always burned a hole in her heart. She raised a hand and pressed two fingers into her chest, keeping her gaze averted for a moment as her thoughts began to race. She thought of everything Drake had told her, what Avice had told her... everything she had learned since more and more of the Meta's had come to this new world.

She took a deep breath, and the smile was quickly replaced on her face. "This world is OUR world, now. It is all of our world... and we should share it. Equally."

[Djoser Aneksi]

"A beautiful sentiment from a beautiful soul. With people like you and Adelaide, I am confident that the world will be ours." Dj would give a huge smile, super genuinely happy. "The second we get passed all the anger and aggression, we can start healing." He would say before giving a playful twirl, too happy to not.

[Shiloh]

Shiloh smiled as DJ twirled. He seemed so... different from all of the Meta's. So kind, and gentle. So happy. Was it something the orphans all shared, or was it just this person's personality? It was almost refreshing.

"Do you want to help me wrap these?" She held up the bags she still carried. "I got Christmas presents to welcome everybody that came over on the Ark. Most of them lost everything, and while TSI provided a bunch of their needs... There's a lot of little things they don't have. Plus. It's Christmas. And everybody deserves to get a Christmas present!"

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj was happy because he had a fresh start, he had joy because he never wanted to be as hopeless as he was back then. Everything he did was a celebration because he didn't die with his past. Even now as the last remaining member of an entire race and culture, he is still twirling through the streets.

At the mention of helping Shiloh wrap presents and her reason for getting all this, he would give a blushed smile. "I would love to. Anything to help make people's lives better. Though, I don't know how to wrap presents... I've never celebrated Christmas before." He would say with a nervous chuckle

[Shiloh]

Shiloh stopped dead in her tracks. She turned to look at DJ with wide eyes, her jaw slightly slack.

"You've... never celebrated Christmas? Oh no. No, no, no. That settles it, then!"

Her smile returned, brighter than before. She rushed over to DJ, filled with sheer excitement. "Okay, so. We are gonna go back to my place, and we are gonna wrap Christmas presents and listen to Christmas music, and its going to be great. Tomorrow, I have this little elf costume that I was going to wear, and I was going to go around delivering all the presents. Well, except Adel's and Mister Rai's... I'll give them theirs ON Christmas. But anyway! We should totally find you an elf costume too, and we can bring joy and good cheer to everybody together!"
