"Dude, I didn't think this shit actually happened in real life. I thought it was just a cool concept for a video game. This was SO much better. It was WILD."
Gidget fell into laughter, sliding down slightly in the seat, wrapping her arms around her tiny waist as she fought to contain herself.

WR chuckled at her comment. They didn't play many videogames themself, but they knew that most of them were based off of something real, so Gremlin's view on it was kind of cute.
"I can bring you to a night race at some point, those are SO much more insane. More cars too." They shrugged. Nobody was approaching the car, so it didn't seem like there was a cash prize for this one. They decided to wait around a few more minutes just in case.
When their blush finally faded away, they turned back to Gremlin and grinned.
"Ya know, I don't even care about your name anymore. Gremlin's stuck to my tongue."

Gidget snickered and gave a shake of her head. She shifted until she was sitting up more in her seat, and glanced around. She had no idea where they were, exactly, or why she was about to do what she was about to do.
"People call me Gidget. That's the name I chose for myself."
Then, she placed both hands on the center console, careful not to quite touch WR as she leaned forward. If they didn't move, her lips would be just beside their ear as she whispered, "My parents call me Darla... but I like it when you call me Gremlin."
Then, she fell back into her seat, still buzzing with the excitement. She knew that nobody could hear them in WR's car, but she still hated saying her name out loud.

As Gremlin approached them, WR would raise a brow and stay perfectly still to avoid any further awkward interactions, their eyes darted to the side as their natural blush darkened again. Her voice tingled in their ear as she spoke not one, but TWO names. Gidget and Darla. They swiveled their head in surprise, their faces only inches apart until Gremlin suddenly broke away and plopped back into her seat.
WR was lost in thought for a moment, but shook their head dismissively as they returned their grip to the steering wheel.
"If they got something for me I'll come back later. Let's get out of here, yeah?"
If no objections, they would speed away from the venue and turn onto the main road for a victory donut.

She couldn't tell if the hitch in her breathing was from all of the excitement or if it was from being so close to WR. She rarely allowed herself to touch anybody, or even come close to it... and their face had been just inches away.
She cleared her throat, trying to catch her breath, and nodded excitedly.
"I'll go wherever you take me, Winner."

WR couldn't help but laugh at that one.
"That's bold of you, Grem, but noted." Normally smiles came and go for WR, but this one... it stuck, and they weren't sure why. They tilted their head at her curiously as a question popped into their head.
"So, I'm gonna take you home for now. Am I picking you up again or? And I don't mean for a race, necessarily."
They weren't exactly sure of the implications, as it was a pretty broad question, but they didn't think much on it. The apartments weren't far from the venue, and it was actually a pretty straight shot, which they didn't realize until now. They kept heading down the main road as they pondered what to do after dropping Gremlin off...

Gidget was smiling as well, and glanced over at WR with a tilt of her head. At least they were still calling her Gremlin. She wasn't entirely sure why she liked that so much.
"Do you have a cellphone? I'll give you my number, and you can text me when you have an idea. Or whenever. I usually respond to texts pretty quickly."

WR’s smile widened at the question, because it was another perfect opportunity to do this.
They slid a hand into their pocket and pulled out a little white card with both their email and phone number printed on it. They would drop it in her lap.
“Too slow.” They winked.

Gidget smirked slightly as she grabbed the card, staring at it for a brief moment. If WR looked closely enough, she'd see faded red lines appearing across the violet irises of the little hacker beside her, but they faded away just as quickly as they appeared.
She made a show of tucking the card into her pocket.
"Look at you. All professional and shit." She snickered, settling back into her seat as she waited to get back to the apartments.

WR would catch glimpse of red in the corner of their eyes, but they would pay no mind to it. They already had a feeling Gremlin was hiding something based on their conversation at the restaurant, so that would be a discussion for another day...
They lightly chuckled at her comment about the card and shrugged, but wouldn't say anything in response.
By the time they made it to the apartment complex, WR decided they weren't going to go back out, so they would pull into the actual parking lot and turn off the car.
"Forgot to mention we're neighbors. Well, kinda. I split-own a condo across town, but I usually stay here." They shrugged again.

Gidget snickered.
"I've been staying here since I moved to this town. Its been... fuck, a while now. The TSI moved everyone into my nice, quiet little mostly abandoned apartment complex, and I've just refused to leave."
It was so decrepit and run down, it was a wonder why anyone would willingly stay there, but she gazed up at the apartments with a strange affection. "I live up on the top floor. Shitty little place, but its all mine. Y'know?"

WR listened along while they got out of the car and locked it up.
"Yeah, I feel that. Honestly surprised you haven't chased anyone out with a broom or something," They jeered playfully. They would begin their walk up the stairs, intending to keep conversation going until they inevitably went their separate ways.
"But man, you must've been pissed when you found out." They smiled at the thought of Gremlin screaming at the moving companies while they were forced to ignore her to uphold professional standards.

She followed after WR, amazed with the ease she had in keeping up. Most people were so much taller than she was, it was next to impossible.
She snickered. "I honestly didn't find out until they were doing some renovation shit. I got so mad, I started throwing things at the head of the TSI. Even managed to get a half eaten sucker stuck in his hair."

WR scoffed a laugh as they pictured the scene. They were glad they weren't in her place, because they probably would have burned the entire complex down 'accidentally'.
"So basically, Gremlin: 1; TSI: 0. Mad respect."
After another flight of stairs WR would start to break away and head down the wall of doors. "Well, this is my stop. If you're ever bored, knock on every door 'till you find mine."

Gidget smirked at that. She nodded, and stood there, awkwardly, for a moment, contemplating her next move. She had already touched WR on multiple occassions... little touches, like grabbing their wrist, or when she practically tackled her. She contemplated doing it again, but her skin heated up at the thought of contact. She swallowed for a moment, then reached out.
Her fingers carefully brushed along WR's shoulder, careful not to touch skin. The look on her face was one of intense concentration and contemplation, before she murmured, "Thank you."
If WR made no move towards her, she would drop her hand and scurry off to her own apartment, looking far more like a wild animal that had been spooked than she meant to.
