Gidget was waiting for WR just outside of the apartment complex. She had no idea what to wear... The video games all told her that the person in the passenger seat was usually some bombshell, wearing barely any clothing and sunglasses. Well, she had no outfits like that, so she opted for the closest thing she owned.
A pair of baggy shorts that reached her knees, bandages wrapped around her arms from elbow to wrist, fingerless gloves, a clingy cropped shirt that showed off her complete lack of any curves and her slightly caved in stomach... and her favorite hoodie, which she wore everywhere.
Nailed it.
She shifted from foot to foot in her boots, staring at the ground. She hadn't used her chip all day, just to make sure she didn't have a headache for the street race. She wanted to enjoy it as much as possible. Instead, she kept her cellphone in the pocket of her hoodie. Just in case.

Gidget would only end up waiting for roughly four minutes, as a sky blue Nissan Skyline shot out of a nearby alleyway, tires screeching onto the main road as it straightened out and pulled up in front of her. In that moment, flames would shoot out of the exhaust, and a 'bang' like sound would rupture through the area.
A tinted window rolled down, and WR appeared in basically the same clothes Gidget saw them in last time.
"You ready?" They'd smirk with a brow raised. Today was a test of money, potential car gain, and also friendship. Friendship was probably the most important thing to come out of this.
Yeah.

Gidget's face lit up in a wicked grin as WR pulled up in front of her, showing off. She admired the car, walking around it a single time before making her way back to the passenger door and peering in through the window. Her eyes were alight with mischief, and more alive than they had seemed at their last meeting.
"More than I've ever been," she said, and hopped it. She very lightly slapped her fingertips on the dash, obviously in awe.
"Let's fucking go."

WR would hit the gas as soon as the feisty purple gremlin sat down, near immediately topping the speed limit for that area. The exhausts would 'BANG!' again as they hit a corner, and WR would throw their head toward their acquaintance with a grin.
"This the shit, yeah?"

She was grinning fiercely, leaning towards the dash and watching as things flew by. It was so... exciting. So freeing. Gidget didn't bother to put her seatbelt on quite yet.
"Faster..." she whispered.

WR decided to give the feisty purple gremlin the same treatment they gave Drake, minus the driving lessons portion (for now...?). Admittedly, the actual races weren't nearly as fun as the free roaming aspect of street racing, with there being rules and all, so they wanted to give her the most bang possible before they actually had to attend the race, which was... a few minutes from starting. But they had time to spare.
They would turn down an alleyway and begin drifting all the tight corners and spaces, with a few donuts in the midsection of it. They would exit the alley as fast as they could to keep control of the car as they hit another corner, then they would abruptly stop.
"So, ever been airborne in a car before?" They would glance over with a grin, revving the engine while they waited.

Gidget let out a cry of excitement as they curved around the corners, and her tiny body went sliding in the passenger seat. Her eyes were wild with glee, her body nearly quivering with it, as they took turn after dangerous turn. At one point, she even reached out and grabbed at WR's arm, though only briefly.
Just as they stopped, Gidget went collapsing into the dash, almost against the floorboard, but she let out a genuine laugh. She shoved herself back up in the passenger seat and turned to WR.
"This is the first time I've been in a car in years, and the first time that anything worth while has been done." Her eyes shined. "So no. Let's do it."

And that was the only answer WR needed.
They would immediately hit the gas again, jolting them both into their seats as the car took off uphill. Once they reached the top, WR would flip a cap off what of looked like a hand break, revealing a tiny red button before resting their thumb on it.
"Hold on to somethin'." They said with a wink, giving the feisty purple gremlin a moment to do just that. Once she was ready, they pressed the button, and with that, they would zoom downhill, the exhausts firing, the NOS burning, and the engine humming as they ripped through the city with no regard for anything else. Finally, they would approach another hill, and this time they would go flying off of it, going airborne for about three seconds, bouncing onto the pavement a few times before the car was steady again.
They then pulled into another parking lot just across from where they landed to give Gidget's soul a second to catch up with her body.

Gidget braced herself the best she could without actually restricting her movement much. Her eyes were wide with excitement and her tiny body quivered with adrenaline.
As soon as they ended up airborne, she let out a breathless squeal, dissolving into laughter as the car steadied out again. She didn't know what to do with herself as she wiggled in her seat and turned her attention to WR.
"Thats amazing. Can we do it again??"

WR turned to her with a genuine smile and couldn't stop themself from laughing.
"Should probably get to the race now, but anytime you need a ride, I got you." They would wink and make sure they had a clearing to pull out of the parking lot.
They resumed their drive in a somewhat sane manner to leave room for conversation before they arrived at the event.
"So, better than the videogames?"

Gidget settled in the seat and watched the city speeding past her. Her entire body felt ALIVE. It was exhilarating.
"Dude so much. I never thought I'd say anything could ever be better than a video game, but DUUUUUUUUDE."

WR continued to laugh.
"Yeah man, it's great. I feed off the adrenaline, hell, I LIVE off it."

She nodded. This was all so much better than just hiding away in her home. In fact, it was almost as thrilling as hacking into the CIA. She was smiling and reached out, almost as if she were going to touch WR again. At the last moment, she recoiled, and turned her attention back to the streets.
"Now, let's see if you can put your money where your mouth is. Where is this street race?"

Ironically as the question was asked, they would pull into a shady looking venue where there were several people standing around chatting, both in front of and behind the rails, and three other cars lined up at the start of a carefully organized track. There were gates blocking off entrances so pedestrians couldn't interfere, and fortunately no cops around. There were never cops around.
"Hmm, yeah, it's usually set up differently during the day," They said as they rolled down the window, making a hand gesture toward a few of the people in front of the rails. As soon as their face was visible to the crowd, they would cheer and call out, but most of it was drowned out by the engine. Normally they would get out and formally greet, but with Gremlin with them they decided it would be better to stay in the car.
As they pulled up beside the other cars, they would roll the window back up and turn toward Gidget. "So, as you can see I'm pretty well known around here."

Gidget rolled her eyes, but couldn't seem to wipe the smile from her face. She was too excited, too thrilled with the possibilities, to care much about the groupies that milled about. In fact, there was a strange part of her that wanted to stick her tongue out, to laugh at the other people, to simply say, "That's right, I am here with them."
But that wasn't something she should necessarily be proud of. She didn't exactly know this person sitting beside her.
"Yeah yeah. Groupies and fans. Whatever. Let's see what you can actually do, though."
