Shiloh had no idea how she had managed to get herself all turned around, yet again. When she left work for the last time of that year, she had been so lost in thought, contemplating the post that was just about to go live on her blog. She must have walked right past her house without stopping.
Somehow, she had ended up in one of the worst neighborhoods of the city. Tent city wasn't far away, and people were lying in filth on the sidewalks. The only cars she saw were broken or rusted. It was almost terrifying.
She often forgot about this side of the town, and rarely ever considered how close it was to the Apartments. She was terrified, being here, but she had no real idea how to get anywhere familiar. So she kept walking, her head down.

"Hey there kid," Shiloh would hear from behind her in a rough but calm voice. Should she turn around, she would see three figures standing behind her, all wearing gas masks and dirty garb. The one standing in the middle, the one that spoke to her, wore a mix of grey and yellow garb. His arms were crossed, and his disconcerting mask stared her down. To his left, and Shiloh's right, would be a woman wearing a red leather coat over a suit. In her hand was a long thin gun, which she caressed with the tips of her fingers. The last figure, standing to the right of the leader, wore a simple green hoodie, but a golden spiked mask, who seemed to look at Shiloh up and down through his mask, his hands in his pockets. "What are you doing over here? Haven't seen you here before."As he spoke, the two beside him began to slowly step away from him and surround the girl.

Shiloh turned around as soon as she heard somebody speak, a soft smile on her face. She saw the three figures as they surrounded her, but seemed calm still despite the inherent danger in the situation. She had her hands wrapped delicately around one of her smaller cameras, which hung from her neck.
"Oh. Hi there. I... To be totally honest with you, I just sort of wandered up here." She chuckled softly, trying to offer them a gentle smile.

Now that they had formed a triangle around the redhead, the two masked strangers came to a stop.
"Mmmhm..." the leader grumbled in response, clearly unfazed by her smile. "Say, you wouldn't happen to be one of those... meta things, would you??"

She looked startled by that, and gave a shake of her head.
"No, I'm not a Meta," she lied. It was something she said so often, it didn't seem like a lie at all. She was so careful to not let anyone know about her abilities or where she came from. Shaking her head, her smile looked a little bit more nervous.

The main thug caught notice of her nervous smile. "Say, that doesn't sound like the truth, does it Winny?"
Shiloh could hear the click of the gun that the red cloaked figure now raised towards the girl's head. "No, it doesn't."
Suddenly, a gun shot rang out, and, if Shiloh looked over, she would see Julius toss the gun away, standing over the masked thug. She held her bleeding leg in pain.
"I beg to differ."

Shiloh's entire body tensed as soon as she heard the gun click. Were these people part of the group that had attacked the Metas when they first arrived? Did they somehow know her secret? She stood there, perfectly still, and did not look away from the main thug...
When the gun shot rang out, she closed her eyes, expecting to feel pain... expecting to feel SOMETHING. Only a stranger's voice rang out. She cracked one eye and looked around, before finally opening both eyes and catching sight of Julius. The sight of the woman in pain made her wince.
She glanced at Julius, and then knelt down slightly in front of the woman. The sight of the blood was making her feel queasy, and she was quivering, but she needed to at least know the woman was okay.
"Th-thank you," she said, glancing up at Julius.

The two remaining thugs nearly fell backwards in shock as they watched their companion get downed.
"Don't thank me yet," Julius muttered to Shiloh as he watched the other two spring to action.
The main thug went to pick up the gun that was thrown, so Julius quickly took after him!
The one remaining with the golden spiked mask dashed toward Shiloh!

Shiloh looked up from the thug she was tending to, just to see someone running at her. Her eyes widened in genuine fear. She had no way to defend herself, except her ability...
She took a deep breath, glancing down at the injured person. "I'm sorry," she whispered, then stood. She shuddered slightly, then turned around and ran. She didn't want to get too far away from the man who had saved her, or the injured person.

Julius, about to intersect with his target, realized he should have thrown the gun much farther, so as to avoid this mess. Some might argue he should have just used it, but he was never good with a gun. He was more of a swordsman.
Now caught up with the bandit, the young smith aimed his path to be just behind the hooded man. Leaping into the air, Julius grabbed the back of the criminal's collar, and used the momentum to pull the thug to the ground.
Upon hitting the ground, the two scrambled to their feet. However, the thug was pulled down again by a sudden materialization of hands. Any observer could see, too, that the back of Julius's hand and wrist glowed with mysterious symbols.
The thug that came after Shiloh suddenly stopped as he saw his boss in great need of assistance. He shot a quick look at Shiloh. "If you're not here when I come back, I swear I will hunt you down." With that he took off toward Julius.

1. (Zero) Replay: If it's happened before, it can happen again. Julius replays an attack that he observed happen onto the same target as the initial replayed attack. He can only "save" one attack in his mind at a time, however; if he replays a punch, but decides he wants to replay a kick, he can no longer replay the punch until the punch is performed again.]

Shiloh stared at him and stuck out her tongue as he turned around to help his boss.
Two on one wasn't a fair fight, but she wasn't exactly an asset in a fight. She looked around for a moment, wondering if she could call somebody for help. She had no idea where she was, however.
Running back to the group, she called out to Julius, "Hes coming up behind you!"
She glanced around before, finally, just returning to where she was before. She knelt beside the injured person, trying to see how much blood they were losing.

Julius picked up the gun and used the butt to hammer the leader to sleep. Then he heard Shiloh's warning, and turned his attention just quickly enough to throw the gun at his assailant.
The masked man fumbled with the gun in his hands before catching a right hook from Julius. The gun fell to the ground once more as the thug stumbled back.
Julius shook his hand in pain. The mask was pretty tough. Thus, instead of punching it again, he just had his past self do the work. He walked over to Shiloh with a glowing hand as the masked criminal behind him took two more right hooks from nowhere, knocking him out on the ground.
Shiloh, in her check-up, would notice that the wound was bleeding quite a bit, but not critically so. The wound was to the back of the calf, avoiding the major arteries.

Shiloh sighed softly. It wasn't going to kill her, at least. She had nothing to bind the wound with, however. She pressed her hands into the wound to try to help staunch the bleeding.
"Nobody is going to die, right?" She asked, looking up at Julius. There was panic in her eyes, but she seemed to be fighting through it to try to help the very person that had attacked her.

The woman kicked at Shiloh in retaliation, shouting "Don't-" but she was interrupted by her own cry in pain. Any attempt Shiloh made after the fact the woman would allow.
"No, the ambulance should be here pretty soon. Called it here before I made any move," Julius reassured as he crouched down to be at the same level as the red headed stranger. "Though that does mean we should probably get out of here pretty quick. Those medics will have some pretty intrusive questions for us if they see us here."

Shiloh looked up at the man, then back down to the woman. She had a look of genuine concern across her features, but... he was right. The thought of leaving the woman was heart-breaking, even if she had just attacked her. "I'm sorry," she said to her, softly. "You'll be okay. People are coming to help you. I promise."
Then, she broke free, standing up and looking over at Julius. She obviously had no idea what to do or where to go from here.
