"I'm a War God. Deimos, God of Terror and Dread."
It's such a casual conversation to have in the middle of a coffee shop. Doesn't sound insane at all.
"Just recently earned my position, actually, so I'll admit... I'm still learning. But it can't be that hard, right?"
Cain chuckles softly.

"I don't know. It must have been difficult to climb that kind of ladder, though... You earned the title? You weren't born with it?"
She smiled at somebody who passed them by, but for the most part, people seemed to just... naturally ignore Shiloh. It made having awkward conversations with her significantly easier.

"No one's born with the title. You either have the spark in you, or you don't. Apparently, it doesn't necessarily have to do with blood."
Or so he'd learned when he'd brought Stigma to Olympus.
"You have to take a trial that's different depending on the position you're attempting to take. I had to fight Ares one-on-one."
Which was much easier said than done.
Cain does notice the fact she's being ignored, and it's starting to nag at him.
"Do people around here have a problem with you?"

She shook her head at his question.
"No. They love me here. Why?" She glanced around, trying to see if anyone was glaring at her, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

"No one even seems to notice you're here."
That would drive him fucking nuts.
"It's... annoying."

"That's pretty normal, actually," Shiloh said with a chuckle. She glanced around again, almost idly this time. "I don't know if it's part of my Qi or just my personality, but most of the time, unless I'm actively talking to someone... I usually go pretty unnoticed."
She shrugged slightly, moving forward with the line but keeping her attention mostly on Cain.

"That sucks."
Cain says honestly, frowning deeply. He can't imagine what it's like to not want attention. He needs recognition.
"Is that something you're... trying to change? Or are you happy with it?"

"I'm still coming to understand it, to be totally honest with you. I know my dad had the same ability, but I don't know what it means, or even what it can do."
She gave a little shrug.
"Growing up here made it next to impossible to really learn anything."

"That sounds like you need people who know Qi to help teach you."
He shrugs a little.
"Or at least, that's what it sounds like to me. You have any Qi instructors, here?"

"There is one," she said thoughtfully. "He runs the school for the orphans."

"What's his name?"
Maybe he knew him!

"Xapham. He's an angel, as I understand it. He adopts the orphans and teaches them how to use their abilities. He even told me he knew my dad."
She smiled softly at the memory.

Cain's brow furrows again.
"Never heard of him. But that's good, he sounds like a person you can be rooted to."

She nodded and smiled.
"I hope he can help. I suppose I'll learn, one way or another. What would you like?"
They finally managed to get to the counter, and tapping on it seemed to bring the attendants attention to Shiloh, at long last.

"Even if he can't, I'll give you a hand, if you want."
He shrugs. You know, since she was being nice to him.
"Uhhh... what's good here?"
Listen. He's never really had coffee. The man lived in ale-town.
