Visiting Prota? (Daniel, Nova)

[Sage Sudeki]

Thought process was that not many people would name their place Prota besides Protans. Which for the purpose of what Spike needed, they would be perfect. The issue would be if they agreed or not, Protans were unpredictable, at least for Spike. So he'd walk in not sure what to expect, looking around for the owners and operators.

[Gunslinger]

“Welcome to Prota, how can we serve you?”

Daniel comes walking up to Spike immediately after he enters, menu tucked underneath one of his arms.

The diner is mostly empty, aside from a couple sitting near the front of the restaurant, near the windows.

[Novocaine]

Nova’s refilling the couple’s drinks, having idle chatter with them. She does glance up when Spike enters, however.

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would peek around before answering.

"Just here to get a drink, a decent brunch, and to talk to the owners."

[Gunslinger]

“The first two are easy enough. Right this way please.”

He gestures for the man to follow him towards the back, glancing at Nova as he does so.

“What did you want to speak with them about?”

He asks, placing the menu down.

[Novocaine]

After a friendly pat on the back of one of the customers, Nova would excuse herself.

She lets Daniel get Spike settled in, rounding around to the kitchen area.

“Coffee, sir?” She’d ask reaching for some cups.

[Sage Sudeki]

As Nova asked about coffee he'd shake his head.

"Don't have the taste for coffee, but if you have hot chocolate I'll take some of that please."

He'd take his seat and look at Daniel folding his hands and resting his elbows on the table.

"Well hopefully they would be willing to hear me out on the some problems facing the city right now. As much as I'd like to think I'm good enough to take care of it myself, I do need help."

[Gunslinger]

“Problems facing the city?”

Daniel lifts an eyebrow, before moving to sit himself across from Spike.

“Do you mean the rampant anti-meta sentiment, or something else?”

[Novocaine]

Nova keeps listening from where she is, her ears tilting towards the two men as she boils water.

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would fold his arms as he leaned back against the chair.

"The anti-Meta sentiment seems to be more or less just a distraction that should die out on its own. The problem is the organizations run by Meta's making things worse. There are at the very least two so far. One is apparently behind all the Anti-Meta stuff, the other is kidnapping and selling meta children. The Droogs and The Naald Group. The most dangerous of it was apparently The Droogs can infect Meta's somehow and control them to their side. While I don't like the idea of Meta Children being manipulated like they are, The Nald Group will have to wait."

[Gunslinger]

“Droogs and Naalds.”

Daniel snorts.

“So how are they infecting metas? And what, exactly, are these Naald doing with other metas?”

[Novocaine]

Nova slowly makes her way over, stirring the hot chocolate in a cup before placing it in front of Spike.

“And why us?”

Not that she didn’t think they were perfect for the job, it was just unexpected.

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would pick up the cup let the warmth effect his hands before taking a sip that obviously burned his lip expectedly, but he had to drink some anyways.

"I'm not sure how they are being infected besides it's one of the Meta's abilities from the Droogs. The meta children are being captured and enslaved, and apparently sold as weapons and servants."

He'd look to Nova, not giving too much attention to her ears because he'd seen stuff like it before.

"Ever since I was eight years old I had fought against Protans and Experiments, both Barker and Strike. No one has ever compared as an opponent. If I wanted anyone to team up with that I could rely on I'd want Protans."

[Gunslinger]

“That’s pretty terrible for them.”

Daniel admits with a nod.

“And while I do take pride in what you’ve said... why would we team up with you?”

[Novocaine]

Nova didn't really want to admit a part of her itched for some sort of mission. Not when she'd worked so hard to try and adapt to this place.

She takes a seat, waiting for the answer to Daniel's question.
