As Kaia's Coal burned the smoke would waft lazily into the air in front of her for a moment before rushing and surrounding her! She would feel like she was suffocating as the smoke filler her lungs. Then everything would go black.
After a few moments Kaia would wake up to her mom walking into her room.
"Oh for goodne- Kaia! Get up and get ready! We're going to be late for the ceremony!"
She would say with a huff as she left the room. Kaia would note that it wasn't her room on the new world but her room in the Old World, she was HOME.

What kind of vivid-ass dream-
Kaia would jump up, looking around and very much recognizing her surroundings. But...this happened already. This is how she ended up...
She pinches her arm. Just to make sure.

"I'm getting dressed!" she calls back, grimacing a bit as she puts on something somewhat fancy.
It's not a dream...so did she go back in time? Ugh, or maybe she dreamed what happened. Who knows.
She heads out, feeling apprehensive.

In the kitchen her mother would be preparing a meal and her father would be reading through updates on his PT. He would look up to see Kaia, his eyes scanning her.
"Is that what qualifies as getting 'dressed up' these days."
He asked obviously being over critical.

Ughhhh.
She can't hide her annoyance, but, wasn't about to start an argument she couldn't win with him. So instead she'd just rationalize it.
"It's just a ceremony, I'm not getting married."

"It's fine dear, I think she looks lovely."
Her mother would say she breakfast on the table.
"Now both of you eat up while I go get changed. We'll be leaving for the ceremony shortly."
She would hum as she wondered off. Her father would sigh and return to his PT reports.

Kaia would sit and kinda pick at her food, mostly since her mom worked hard on it.
But she wasn't really that hungry.
"We shouldn't go there." Kaia would finally pipe up.
"Or rather I shouldn't."

Her father was taking a sip of his drink and setting on the table when Kaia spoke and he would freeze turning to look at her.
"And, why, exactly is that?"

"You and mom should go. I want to stay here."

"This Ceremony is a way to show respect. I will not allow you to bring disrespect to our family just because you don't feel like going."
He would say getting visibly upset.

If he knew or not, it didn't matter now.
"That's not-! Whatever! Sure, I don't feel like going dad."
She gets up from the table and quickly heads for the door. Obviously she'd need to get away from them if she was going to re-do this moment correctly.

Kaia's step would falter a bit. Disrespecting AND disobeying her parents? That was never a risk she took...
With a breath, she'd take the plunge though, hurrying to just run outside.

"What do you think you're doing?!"
He demanded.
"This isn't what's supposed to happen!"
