[Gunslinger]

He shrugs again.

"Unlucky?"

[Novocaine]

"I thought you were correcting me cause I said it in a way that was insulting. But you're like way worse." she says incredulously.

[Gunslinger]

"I don't mean it to be insulting."

Daniel sighs.

"I just don't know how to describe it."

[Novocaine]

"Do you still feel negatively about it?"

[Gunslinger]

"...there are times, yeah."

He nods.

"But for the most part, it's fine. I'm over it."

[Novocaine]

"Good. Because you don't need it." she'd say.

"We gotta hold you back SOME way."

[Gunslinger]

"Hold me back from what?"

Daniel snorts.

"Being almost as good as you?"

There's a teasing tone to his voice.

[Novocaine]

"Leaving me and everyone else in the dust." she chuckles.

"Though I guess you technically have, now. I don't work to the level I used to here because of how hard it is to use Qi. Kinda puts things into perspective..."

[Gunslinger]

"You say that, but I'm pretty sure you're keeping up with me easily even with the limited Qi."

He shrugs slightly.

"That's why I had to join a gym."

[Novocaine]

She was going to argue but the last part caught her attention.

"Wait, you did what?"

[Gunslinger]

That makes him smile broadly.

"I joined a gym. Turns out, there's one run by a couple of meta's."

[Novocaine]

"Huh."

She's not surprised by something like that. But he'd never mentioned it.

"And what are you working on?"

[Gunslinger]

"Well, for one, I've realized I focus entirely too much on my weapons."

...that hasn't changed.

"So I've been improving my hand to hand a bit."

[Novocaine]

"Not a bad idea." she nods.

"I should refocus on mine, more, too. It'd tire me out less if I could do it without Qi."

Though she always had daggers. She didn't necessarily have to do without those.

[Gunslinger]

"You think you need to work on hand to hand?"

His eyebrows raise.

"I'm pretty sure you'd destroy me."
