Every day, someone becomes another year older. Age can easily define who people are, if they let it. For Trent Cassidy, however, it was an important occasion; regardless of who you are. With the upcoming occasion of Atlas's Mother's birthday, however, the urgency increased tenfold. Therefore, Trent was out shopping for a gift or two. That's not all, however. Tsurajin "Tsu" Cete, a roommate and friend of both he and Atlas, was to accompany him. Of course, she truly must also gather a present; and advise Trent on the matters of the womanly sort. Well, that's the idea, anyway. To begin, Trent had decided that scouring the local market would be a fine place to start. Market stalls, brick-and-mortar stores, and more lined the streets; that is, from what Trent could tell. Off a few glances alone, there were products aplenty. Perhaps, with any luck, the apprentice wrestler could knock out two birds with one stone. One with a quaint little birthday present, and another for his secret project. Pressing his knuckles into his waist somewhat, Trent's visage creased with a slight grin. There was hopeful desire among thoughts such as those. "Hey, Tsu! Got any ideas for Ms. Steele? We gotta get her somethin' great for her birthday, you know!"
Let's get that ball rolling, finally, eh tsu ?

"You know, Trent, the irony in all this is I know absolutely nothing about the woman.", Tsu scoffed impassively as she followed the wannabe wrestler through the lined aisles of her least favorite type of location in the city. She could peruse the shelves for hours and still not have the slightest inclination as to what she would need to purchase. "What is granny Steele like anyways?" Tsu asked without a care as to how Trent may answer, instead mulling over what she knew of Atlas to try and draw up some mental facsimile. The larger man was clearly the more laid back type, but then again her father was the same way when he got older and she thought as to how she turned out.
"Maybe his mom is rowdier than he is. We could buy her some sort of weapon.", she finally mused with a chuckle, pointing at a bladesmith some distance across the street. Lifting a finger to her chin she continued, "You know, I could go for something sharp. Think he sells oversized hatchets?"

Ah. Well, better than just Trent on his own! The apprentice wrestler shrugged at Tsu's initial remark. At the mention of what "Granny Steele" is like, this gave Trent pause. Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm. A curled index finger scraped up against his chin. A hand rested upon his waist. Trent gave a deep squint, staring off into nothing. Eventually, his inquisitive body language dissipated; quite suddenly, in fact. "Oh well! Its embarrassing that I'm comin' up blank, but we're gonna figure something out anyway, no matter what. One of us will call Atlas if we keep at this rate, right?"Tsu brought up a -- likely educated -- guess. Rowdier than Atlas? That didn't seem right; then again, Trent was of no more help than Tsu. Buying a weapon, however, certainly didn't fit the bill for something to present to an elderly woman. She could endanger herself, or even others! Nonetheless, Trent's gaze trailed along the direction his roommate directed him to. Looked like a sort of blade-making fella. The bladesmith was heavily bronzed, featuring a greatly non-exaggerated build. It was, regardless, still evidently well-built. He sported dark eyes and darker hair, reflecting his workstation as clearly as his works did. The apprentice wrestler flashed a curious grin, and even curiouser glint in his eyes.
"Sharp, eh? Hey, go ahead, but I'm feeling for something a bit different. Its still early, right?"
I've got time. Do you, tsu ?

With the raise of an eyebrow, Tsu couldn't help but hold herself back from striking the apprentice wrestler. "Yes, sharp. Sometimes a lady needs to shank a bitch.", Tsu replied with a scoff before half-marching away from Trent. Taking a moment to seriously consider the situation she would turn back. "I still don't have the slightest clue, but at this rate actually calling Atlas seems like an admission of defeat, and we both know your ego can't take that hit." She couldn't help but snicker to herself some at this comment, but shook her head in empathy nonetheless.
"You think she knits?", Tsu would ask openly. "It seems like something Atlas might have picked up from her." Lifting a hand, she'd point in the direction of a fabrics store that could be their next destination.

A grunt in amusement was the only response to Tsu's foremost comment. As scrappy as always. As turbulent as the sea, in fact. Nonetheless, the two of them were still without an answer. The second of them made certain to confirm it. Although, that aforementioned second made a somewhat unwarranted jab. Did that scrappiness of hers bleed into everyday conversation now? The apprentice wrestler's brow furrowed some, albeit briefly. His lips scrunched up just as briefly. "Don't have'ta project like that, Tsu. I'll call "Big Bad Atlas" on my own later if we need to, if you're so against it."Trent's back-talk needed some work. Being a wrestler, amateur or not, that was a necessary skill. Mentally, he was hoping that'd rouse Tsu some; but he also hoped that it'd only shut her up for a second. Trent wasn't asking for much. So he thought, anyhow. Regardless, Trent attempted to roll his neck, exhaling as he did so. "Not a bad guess with the knitting. Maybe we can call Aroma and see if she's got any recs on some needles or somethin'. But let's check this out real fast, yeah?"The apprentice wrestler then promptly traipsed over towards the bladesmith. Maybe he could get some scrap metal out of them.
Let's finally get a move on, tsu . We don't have all day, right?

Lips turning into a scowl, she sneered at the wannabe combatant a moment before following with a slight grin and uncomfortable laugh. "I just have a hard time conversing with the guy. It's something about the way he carries himself, it's off putting at times." Lifting a hand to her chin, she'd follow behind Trent, eyeing all items on show for the general public. She couldn't help but think back to the reckless abandon her father had for the beasts he fought in the sea, knife in hand and almost manic smile across his face as he dove head first into the azure depths each trip. "The whole craftwork idea may be a bad one now that you mention Aroma, we aren't the only ones looking for a gift I'm sure and we can't compete with whatever she might pick.", Tsu's brow furrowed some at that revelation and she shook her head.
"You're handy with metalworking right?", her attitude perked up fast as an idea shot into her mind. "We could pull the kindergarten cop out and build something and hope she takes it out of pity or something.", an uncertain chuckle followed this as she nudged the larger man. "That and I found this odd vein of material out by the water, maybe you can identify it while we look for materials to work with."

Tsu was as questionable as ever. Trent had never met someone that found Atlas off-putting, if a bit unrealistically optimistic. Perhaps that was more synonymous than he realized. Nonetheless, the cyan surfer once again had a point. If Aroma was a bit of a home craftswoman herself, why would they all risk it with the overlap? Trent's lips scrunched together once again, diving in and out of a deep thought. As it was before, however, that remained brief. Whilst they were out and about, inevitability was all but certain. Gift or no gift, there had to be something. Then, the scrappy water rider threw in another suggestion. She mentioned metalworking; something along the lines Trent's second hobby. Apparently, pity was something of Tsu's final, utmost desperate attempt at brainstorming. Could the apprentice wrestler continue to seek ideas after this? Eh, he would have to wait and see. Regardless, pity was far from what Trent sought from the upcoming event. Suddenly, a nudge bumped into his rib cage. Swiftly brought to attention, his eyes caught a mighty fine glance at a chunk of metal material. A pause followed. "HMMM?!"That was no typical metal. The chunk of material was tungsten! What a find! With an expression of great surprise written all over his visage, Trent attempted to swipe it away immediately. Even then, there was a sudden, and tremendous effort in inspection; misidentification was heavily detrimental. Another moment, unconsciously shuffling away somewhat. No, this was definitely tungsten, but incompletely refined. It looked as if it was littered into the ocean from a refinery. Trent's brow furrowed. His expression was still excitable, yet noticeably confused. Then, he shifted his gaze towards Tsu. "Tell me, just how deep into the water did you find this?"

Tsu took a moment to contemplate, it had been a little while back but she had been out looking for a sea lion to rough up that day and come across it. "I think I was about a mile and a half out, maybe fifteen or more metres under the water." She waited a moment before nodding affirmatively at this. "It was getting a tad dark down there and then it glinted. I think I also saw some metal in the rocks on a small outcrop closer to the shoreline, but I doubt it would be worth the trip." Shrugging some, her eyes turned to the workmanship on the walls around them as she let Trent assess her musings.

If nothing else, this would be a prime piece for that secret project of his. Trent inspected the chunk of tungsten some more, checking and double-checking repeatedly to see if he was correct. The certainty was all too necessary. If he were to undergo refinement, molding, melting, or any other such activity against it an incorrectly designated material, it could be completely ruined in an instant. Although, it nonetheless definitely looked like tungsten. Trent exhaled almost curtly. Very intriguing. Also intriguing was where Tsu claimed to have found it. A mile or so out from shore, situated in what's likely a formation of rock. Fair enough. However, if there was more, Trent had a mighty need of it. "Show me next time we're out by the beach, I gotta get a good look of it myself. I can't just find stuff like tungsten without importing it into the city, you know?"Promptly stuffing the pseudo-refined metal into a particularly empty pocket, the hunt for a present seemingly continued. The prospects lingered within Trent's mind, however. In all honesty, there was very little truly anchoring the wrestler in this endeavor. The desire for a supply of metals was imperative at the point he was at. Between matches in both wrestling and boxing rings, there was a concept that need a whole cargo crate of material. Unfortunately, it was all up in the apprentice wrestler's mind; stuck in the idea phase. It'd be great if there was a way to cut straight to --! Cut! An idea struck Trent like a laser beam. "Why not get Ms. Steele a kitchen knife?"
It begins, but dear ol' Miss Steele has precedence. What do you think tsu?

Contemplation wrought over Tsu's brow, their hunt for a gift continued to wane ever so much that they still hadn't the slightest clue, tangents aside. Pulling a larger cleaver from the wall, glaring at the smith himself long enough to keep him from piping up she would nod to Trent. "Seems reasonable enough, what do you think, cleaver or simple cutting?", her lips curled into a grin as she probed the sharpened tool in her hands. "Culinary is important after all, and the proper knife for the occasion is essential."
"I prefer my curved knives, but I also primarily consume fish, so I have to cut with a grain... does Atlas raise any animals? I've only been over there once or twice.", she mused thoughtfully, setting the cleaver back where it belonged. She would contemplate their options as she awaited Trent to reply, sure the apprentice knew enough about his teacher's plot as opposed to the occasional visitor.

Brandishing a piece of merchandise, Trent made sure to keep at attention with Tsu at the helm. The cleaver she wielded was certainly sharp, and prime for some butchery. Of all things, this was bound to be the best bet they had. The apprentice wrestler's brows bumped up and down in sequence, as if to silently confirm his roommate's selection. It was true, culinary (tools) were important. In fact, Trent would never have had any brownies without his first funnel; but that was no knife. "Yeah, I bet ol' Ms. Steele's got a need fer a cleave with Atlas's appetite. The portions he has t'keep with are way past anyone else's."Several meals prepared for Atlas would put several countries into famine. That is, if the man himself would ever not bother. Despite his aggressive stomach, city-side nutrition has been up since the Man of Steele had first moved in. It was ironic, at a glance. Along a relatively similar topic, Tsu mentioned her need for curved knives. Something about fish and the grain. Trent maintained a somewhat blank eye contact, only having prepped baking ingredients thus far. Nonetheless, the resident Atlas expert was proposed an inquiry; the apprentice was obliged. "Atlas's got a whole dang barn full-a the fellas. He's also got these crazy hamsters. They all shoot lasers out their... uh, wherever."Trent was sure that, inevitably, the process of butchering had to come into play. It was a far cry form a pleasant conversation piece, so that would remain glossed over. An index finger was raised, outstretched to point at Tsu's yoinked chopper device.
"Anyway, that knife you got there should do fine. Best shot we got anyway, don't you think?"
Maybe if we throw in a gift card too, maybe we won't get suplexed when things go south tsu .

Tsu would nod along at Trent's suggestions, pondering over their options in the store while taking her own notes. "something with both the thickness and edge for larger animals mi-", but her words were cut off and eyes narrowed at the wannabe wrestler. "Did you say Guinea Pigs?" Her attention clearly shot for the moment, she stared into oblivion. She had actually never seen one before, she once saw a capybara and heard there were similarities, but what could they possibly be?! A few moments of absent-mindedness would pass before she shook herself free from the miasmatic trance.
"-ght work out. So yeah this one would do the trick.", hefting the blade into a sheath, she would move to the counter to pay for the item at hand. "Should e get a bag or something? It would be a bit imprudent to not at least bag it with a nametag.", she thought, moving towards the exit. "I think I saw a gifting goods shop nearby."

Trent stifled a good few chuckles to himself once Tsu was struck with the very idea of guinea pigs. Her facial expression said it all: she totally wanted to see them. It wasn't a terrible idea. Then again, they all had a poor habit of, to be frank, shitting lasers. A few too many holes were burned into the ceiling of Atlas's homestead from those cheeky feckers. Another, ultimately amused and stifled chuckle. But, then, the cyan surfer continued her previous statement; as if she hadn't paused to marvel in the idea of miniature guinea piglets. Trent took note of that contradictory, albeit dedicated concentration. Must've been from all the sea-surfing. "Great. Heyo, shopkeep! We'll have a go with this one."The bladesmith's attention was caught quickly, seeing as how the "dynamic" duo were standing just before him. He merely nodded, pointing to a nearby chalkboard sign. With a glance, it seems that "large knives", including (meat) cleavers, were about forty bones. USD, of course. Eh, better be worth it then. With a few swift swipes from waist to counter, Trent forked over a few bills. The chiseled men spoke no words, all in agreement. With that out of the way, Tsu promptly went on the move once again. This time, their destination was to be a nearby gift shop. Admittedly, not what Trent first had in mind. The apprentice wrestler turned, shrugged, and trailed behind. Suddenly, a speedy, seemingly sharp object cut through the air. Trained to react, Trent immediately grasped at what was thrown at him. Flipping it around some; it was but a mere business card. The wrestler shut his eyes for the briefest moment, flashing a thumbs up as he slipped the card between his fingers. A connection was made today. Not one that Trent expected by any means. Perhaps Tsu could sense the very same, even if only second-handedly. Nonetheless, the premises would be exited; stage, uh, front door. Beautiful.
Very sorry about the long wait tsu! Stuff has been ramping up recently. Here's hoping we can get back to it.

Tsu would take a moment to stretch as Trent and the bladesmith sorted out the order placed, it had barely been much of a day at all and she was already beginning to feel lethargic just from standing in place. Nonetheless this instance was an important one and she could rest later. "Should we look into a wooden board to go along with it?", she wondered aloud as Trent made his way back her direction. With a nod towards the shopkeep the cyan haired woman would hold the door for the wannabe wrestler, laughing some as the business card nearly drove itself into his shoulder as well.
"So, where to next? You seem more familiar with the place than I?", she mused, following in line behind him, curious if he had any other locations in mind before they made their way back to the farm.
