Chi didn't know whether to smile or frown, and she faltered between the two emotions. It was nice that he was lookin gout for her, but she should have known that when they first met. He had said he didn't like seeing a girl get hurt, and, well, Chi was a girl. Imagine that. Then she took into consideration what he had said, about violence being the only thing that people understood. Was it? It seemed so, and just thinking about it made her a little depressed. It was like losing hope in the human race, but then again, she didn't really have much to begin with, considering her behavior toward other people. She'd been a bit different lately, however, she didn't feel the need to exploit others for her own amusement...why was that? So many questions, and no answers.
"Let's walk, or find somewhere to go or..something."
She suggested, shifting her weight from one foot to the other and back again. She didn't quite like standing around like this, it made things all the more awkward.

"Sure." The schizo replied off handedly. The further they got away from the school the better. And walking was always good for conversation, in Aureus' experience anyway. It just gave him the energy to talk. Taking a moment to reflect, it seemed to him that Chi was feeling uncomfortable around him. Was it because of the way he attacked that kid? Probably not, but anything was possible. "So...what were you doing during all that chaos?" He asked.

As they walked along, Chi occasionally kicked her feet at the ground in a kind of funny walk, it was entertaining, and gave her something to do. Dark eyes glanced up at Aureus when he spoke as she had been watching her feet. The dark heaired girl shrugged casually.
"In the middle of it, I guess. I could see things going on, but it was like there was nothing I could do about it. And then I found you, and you know the rest."
The girl frowned thoughfully for a moment, glancing back down at her feet and the movement of the guond beneath them. She really was too easily amused.

"Yea, I still can't understand how people can act like that. Do they want to all be separated from their friends? Do they want to rack up expenses for others to pay? It's like they don't care about anything that happens as a result of their actions. And I don't buy into any of that 'They didn't know what they were doing' shit. They're old enough to know. And if they aren't the intelligence level of humanity has dropped to the point it disgusts me. It's really sad when you think about it. In the end you can only rely on yourself and the few intelligent, non selfish people out there. Like you..." Aureus ranted, trailing off at the end. It was a bit awkward, though still true. Chi was one of the only people he had met that really was smart and seemed to do the right thing. It was just nice knowing he wasn't alone. There was someone out there that understood how he felt.
By this time the two were already a block or two away from 259. Middle class worthy houses that probably cost four hundred to five hundred thousand dollars surrounded them on all sides. In California the cost of living had skyrocketed, and with the tax money being wasted repairing crap schools like 259, things only got worse.
It was hard to see beauty in most things. But that was the trick. The beautiful things were hard to find and see. And if you were lucky to find just one, the search for it would be worth it. Right? Maybe a small, colorful garden that a housewife cared for in her spare time. Or a nice field where blissfully ignorant children came to play. Knowledge was good, but many different kinds of pain came along with it. That was one of Aureus' curses. And in the end would it really make him any happier?

Dark chocolate eyes blinked as Aureus went on his rant, it was all inquisitive and intelligent..up to the very end. That confused her, and she started a bit as he said it. "In the end you can only rely on yourself and the few intelligent, non selfish people out there. Like you..." He relied on her? Well of course he did that night at the beach, but now? And why did he trail off instead of simply end his thought? That usually meant there was more left to say. Usually. It was Chi's nature to know these kinds of things, though instead of helping her out, it simply confused her even more. Time to side step the issue for now, she could be wrong. Of course she was wrong, there was no way..
"Well that's what makes you such a good Pillar. You don't have to single handedly save the school from psychotic students to be considered great, it's the fact that you're passionate enough about something to want to evoke change. That's more than I can say for most of the school population."

"I can be passionate all I want. It won't amount to anything if I can act on it though." He replied. "There just aren't enough people who want change for the better." And it was true. Today was a perfect example. They had to be kept tightly in line with fear of the consequences or things would fall apart. The logic behind it was out in plain sight, but they didn't want to see it. So there he was, forced to keep the line nice and tight, but the result of that was people hating him. The only thing he could do was stay the best. Make them fear him or respect him. Either way he would end up alone. You don't care about the people you hate, and the people you respect are too high and mighty to care about. They're perfect, they can handle anything, they don't need friends.
And so, that's what Levi was for. If he didn't exist there would be no way for Aureus to relax and not worry about responsibility. Levi could do what he wanted, just fit in with everyone else. "I'll just have to keep going...there's no other way." He said calmly. He was starting to come back to his sense.

"True...but caring about something is the first step to change. You just have to take that next step to actually do it." She didn't want to comment on the 'not enough people care' thing, because sadly enough, he was right. Not enough people cared about anything anymore, anything but themselves. Chi was one of them. She didn't want to care about people, but just because she didn't want to didn't meant that she didn't still..why else would she have bothered helping that night at the beach, even before she knew it was Aureus being attacked, and why did she bother with her mother instead of just letting her drink into oblivion by herself? Because whether she wanted to or not, she cared. Damnit.
She smiled reassuringly when he said that he would just have to keep going despite whether or not he thought he could do the job.
"It's all you can do, for now anyway."

But what is the next step? *sigh* I guess I'll just have to wing it for now. The schizo thought before replying to Chi. "Yup...but right now I just need time to relax. I hope the teachers can handle the rest of the clean up on their own. And maybe than we won't fail." He said optimistically. If they failed, oh well, there was nothing he could do about it and why should he care if other people got split up anyway? It was himself and the few people he trusted that he should be concerned about. "So, what to do now?" He wondered out loud.

"They're halfway intelligent people, I'm sure they'll think of something."
The girl gave him a small smile, running a hand through her long black hair. It was still pretty wet, but it was making some progress as far as drying goes. "So, what to do now?" Chi wondered just as Aureus spoke the thought aloud. So what now? They wouldn't be returning to the school for a while, at least not until things calmed down a bit.
"I don't know...any place interesting to go?"
She asked, thinking of the beach and then puttin git out of her mind. The beach wasn't nearly as fun during the daytime as there were far too many people inhabiting it, and the last time she'd been to the beach, Aureus had been nearly beaten senseless.

"Well then Mr. Asiv, it seems the chaos has ended from my point of view. Wouldn't you say, Ms. Suger?"
"Why, yes. Yes I would."
The evaluator had spoken as they walked into the main halls. They looked arouns and decided to split up and look around, sit in on random classes and watch. See disciplinary policies and such, a student had come rushing in to attack the Evaluator, but now was not a good time to stand up for a lost cause, esspecially not now, while Asiv was all fired up about the Evaluations going to shit.
The hard fighting that had gone on, ended Asiv had taken down three that had made it through the students trying to stop the idiots while they ran to their classes to avoid being seperated. But this one student in a final charge had rushed the evaluator.
Well this didn't catch Asiv in such a good mood. . .

Asiv curled his fingers inward cracking the joints and straight palmed the fool in the chest right on the sternum. But that wasn't all there was to see, Asiv's eyes had seemed to turn white from the concentration of his Qi into this palm, a popping noise was heard and the ripping of cloths in a circle about the same size as Asiv's hand had been made, the kid flew backwards into a wall blood spitting from his mouth as he hit his back hard against it, there wasn't enough momentum to slam him all the way through, but a good sized crack was created.
"Fool."
He whipped his hand from the contact made, and then made his regular walking order, which was all over the place, heading in no direction, but in a planned direction at all times. Picked the boy up and grabbed another one laying on the ground.
"You guys walk around, I'm gonna go give the nurse some preasents."

"Hmm...how 'bout we grab something to eat? There's a pretty good pizza place around here." Aureus said, trying to ignore all the negative questions and comments running through the back of his mind like a stampede. There were no point in dwelling on them, besides he was hungry as hell and wanted something to eat. Nothing's better than pizza to calm one's nerves. Sure, some people may argue that tea or a bubble bath is better, but that was their opinion. As they continued on the schizo shoved his hands into the pockets of his semi-baggy, dark blue jeans. It was more of a habit than anything. His clothes were still a bit damp from the sprinklers, which annoyed him to no end. Especially his socks, which squished with every step he took. Being soggy was not something the Freshmen enjoyed. It would be a while before he dried out, but there was nothing to be done about that. The only good thing was the fact that his hair was wet...err damp. For some reason or another Aureus always thought his hair looked better that way. They were still in the residential area, but only a couple blocks in the direction they were heading was the avenue which was lined with all different types of shops. Restaurants, video game stores, movie theatres, concert halls, you name it. It was a shopper's paradise. A little crowded, but that was to be expected. Every now and than Levi would take a trip there to pick up the newest FPS, or Aureus would to find a new book. Loads more fun than the rebellious school. OOC: I actually put effort into this one, feel honored.

((ooc: I am, thank you! *glomps*))
Pizza? What was it with boys and pizza. First Ghiste, then Saint, and now Aureus wanted pizza? Blegh..The dark haired girl made a funny face when he mentioned it, though she continued to walk into the shopping complex with him.
"Umm, anything but pizza if you don't mind.."
She offered with a chuckle, clutching a hand to her stomach. She liked the italian cuisine and all, but there really was such thing as too much of a good thing. She glanced around at all of the signs, thinking of any more suggestions. Her face lit up as she noticed her favorite sign in the world, 'The Autumn Leaf,' the sign itself was actually shaped like a leaf, but in a cool way, not the least bit cheesy.
"Ooo, this cafe is nice, I come here to read a lot. They've got good music, good food, and comfy places to sit."
She said, pointing to the sign. In all honesty she didn't really care where they went to eat,she was just offering up a suggestion, and this seemed like the kind of place Aureus might like.
((ooc: We can start a new thread once we decide where to eat, so we can stop hijacking this one ;D))

Hmm...I wonder what she has against pizza... Aureus asked himself after hearing the girl's reply. How could anyone not like it, or even have enough of it for that matter? It was something he couldn't understand, but decided not to fuss about. "Haha, sure." He responded before thinking about what else he'd like to eat. There were definitely enough places to choose from, but looking through them all would take time. Luckily for him, Chi peeped up and made a suggestion of her own.
The Autumn Leaf, eh? He thought while examining the sign. Although music and seating weren't what the schizo was normally concerned about when eating, he decided it didn't look too bad, and might even be a nice change of pace. "Sounds good." He said simply before heading towards the entrance...
