New person makes new character. That person gets the 90 exp to put to their stats. They get to chose grade level, no raise in stats. Said person makes 300 posts and moves up a member rank instead of a grade, like moving from freshman to sophmore, instead from new member to adept member or whatever we have there. They then gain a boost of 10 exp and their stat caps increase, yet the new person started off as a senior and still is.

The code is all in place, I'm jus' waiting for the go-ahead.

I've decided to throw this into play. Only one question. What should the post count rank names be?

Alright, lemme explain exactly what's going on so you won't be confused.
NOTE: *It's nothing that can't be easily fixed, so don't worry.*
All I've done is change it so that from now on, OOC posts count towards your post count since the ranks are no longer tied to your IC posting. Despite this recent change, your old OOC posts aren't automatically tacked on. This wouldn't be a problem, but because of how much OOC posting goes on, I tossed up the rank numbers pretty high. They are as follows:
Newbie - 0 posts Regular - 600 posts Member - 1200 posts Respected Member - 1800 posts Wise Guy - 2800 posts Rank that still needs to be named - 3800 posts Elite - 4800 posts Icon - 5800 posts Board Legend - 7000 posts
Because of the loss of your old OOC posts in regards to your post count, I'm willing to go through the spam thread (Because it is the most popular OOC thread) and add your posts from there to your count by hand.
Comments, suggestions? Let's hear 'em.

Me too. I'ma head off now actually. So anyone who hasn't voiced their concerns about this issue, you suck. I'm not stayin' up and waiting for you to, so telepathically send your messages to my brain and I'll get back to you that way. This has all turned out to be a lot more work than I expected.

*sneaking on* XD That'll make Phishy sad, when she was just less then 50 posts away.. Heh... 600, huh?
344 posts to go..#$%^ I'll start counting again when I hit 550 ==''...
Edit: Yeah, I know I can up whenever I want. I think I'm - personally - going to go with the regular stat system, so when I reach 300, I'll just level up to Sophomore, then whichever the next one is, etc.

D'yanno the thing I just noticd though...
Having the ranks be based on ooc posts, its actually promoting spamming rather than rping. Like its kind of an honor to work forward like "Oh, Im a sophomore!" Or "Look! I'm finally a junior!"
I actually think we should stay with the system of leveling up from freshman up, and if someone wants to start their character on another grade, they should petition for it in a specified area, like write why it is they want to be the grade they are. That in turn can stop brand spankin' newbies from being powerful demi-god seniors.
Its also better for character development. I dont think Chi would be this dynamic at the grade she is if I had simply started her as a junior. Am I making any sense?
Edit: Its kind of like a compromise between the two...maybe. Allowing those who want to go up grade by grade to do so while if theres a select few who just gotta be a certain grade they can do that too. Because I was just thinking, I'm really proud of my 786 ic posts, but I wouldnt be as proud of having 786 ooc posts. Its just not as dynamic to me as a roleplayer.

Yeah, you're making sense, Ally. But the point is, people can start at whatever grade fits their storyline. If you wanna rise up slowly, that's fine. If you wanna start as a Senior because that fits your plot, that's fine too, but don't expect to have a clear cut advantage over an older member who's a Sophomore because they've had more time to post, earn exp, buy items, etc.
Personally I'm thinking of doing away with stat caps altogether. When you first join, regardless of your grade, you start with 90 and must have at least 5 in each category.
I just realized something though. Money, unfortunately, is connected to post count and since post count is connected to IC and OOC posts, we have a problem. I'll think of some way to fix this...

Why is it that OOC post go toward our post count? Does it have to be like this in order to have freedom of age? We spam a lot, and there are people (me) that only really have time to post on the weekends. What do I do when I need a break form work? Spam, I spam my ass off. Everyone's post count is going to sky rocket because of this. Why not just make keep it so you only gain post to you post count when you make IC posts like we use to?
PS. I already asked Super Leon about stat caps. He likes them and wants to keep them, so unless his stance on them has changed or you can make him change his mind... you get it.
EDIT: I asked about stat caps a while ago so what I said could be out of date info on his stance about the subject.
EDIT 2: Transfer's post counts. Are those going to be change to show how many posts they have made on this board?

Alright, since the general consensus seems to be keep it the way it was before, I'll switch the post count back to only IC posts and modify the rank requirements.
