I'll make it short and sweet. Intelligence. Why do we have it? Don't get me wrong, I understand why it's there and what it does, since I was once on a forum that had it, but it's just, couldn't you just combine both Intelligence and Wisdom into one single stat?
I'm not coming at this from the point of view of someone who's trying to nitpick, I'm just trying to say, it might be better to combine the two stats into one, since the two stats reflect two things that are related to each other. But yeah, I haven't been on this board for very long, so, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Well. Honestly, if you have ever fought before IRL, the ability to formulate a plan in combat is more of an acquired trait ala INT, where as WIS which is the ability to see incoming strikes or predict their patterns, is more instinct, they are two very different things. Does not have much to do with the argument other then that they are clarification.
As far as the stats are concerned, the way I have always done it, and many others like me whom actually use the INT and WIS stats, is that the WIS is your ability to see a persons attack in comparison to the opponents INT stat ( which is the difficulty of the attack. )
You can apply the INT stat to any number of things if you'd like ( IQ, what you know, how much you can do at once.. whatever. ), but as far as combat is concerned, this is about it.
In the same respect, STR and DEX both determine damage when you are playing with me. Why? Because DEX is the speed at which you move here, and logically momentum + force = damage.
This is different to other people, as a lot only depict damage as far as STR is concerned.
By the same respect, many people ignore WIS and INT altogether and rely SOLELY on the DEX stat
On another note. Wtf is CHA for for that matter?
If you are going to state one is useless, in the end three are if you are playing by some peoples rules.
I personally use all of my stats.
STR - Lifting, Force Application DEX - Speed ( Movement ), Momentum CON - Endurance, Pain Resistance INT - Attack complexity, General logic solving WIS - Attack prediction, Pattern gathering CHA - "Aura" ( How you are viewed by NPCs, actions can over ride this ), the ability to conceal actions.
