Levi sat alone on the roof of building one, PHS 259. It was fourth period and lunch had just ended. He should have been sitting in the seat in the back right of the Algebra room listening to the sub spew off some mathematical rule while watching his back to be sure that no students were going to attack him. Why would the teacher being doing that? Maybe because of the fact that the full time teacher had been absent the last two days after being injured by two students in that very room. But wait, only one of the perpetrators was there. Where was the other? Well the sub didn't much mind. It was just one less trouble maker to worry about.
Being a bit lax when it came to following the rules compared to his other personality, Levi didn't see much point in going to a class he already knew inside and out. His time was better spent here, on the roof working out. And that's exactly what he was doing. At the time the Freshmen boy was in the middle of doing a set of pushups. He had already stretched, done a few jumping jacks, laps around the roof, and sit ups. After he got to 100 push ups, the redhead would finish with a few pull ups on the oddly placed, not to mention sturdy bar, that just happened to be on one side of the roof. 72...73...74...75...76... Levi mentally counted before falling flat on his chest and reaching to the left for his water bottle. Damn...still can't make 100 in one set. He thought as the liquid made it's way down his throat. Once finished, he went back to his training. Then, out of nowhere, someone came running through the door...

Lunch. Max curled up in her little tight kimono shirt and a pair of jean-shorts and exited the building, introducing herself to the courtyard. No body was there at the current time of day because all were mingling around in the cafeteria, so it was peaceful and quiet. Max found herself a nice spot of grass to settle down on, back against the wall of the school, she had three little berries in her left hand. Raspberries to be exact. Placing them on her tongue, Max then closed her mouth and her teeth dug into the juicy circles, she swallowed slowly and then took a deep breath.
"When you smile, the world smiles with you ..." She recited an old saying, but then snickered. "I wonder what doofus thought of that! There's only got to be a dozen other faces all around the world who aren't going to smiling when I smile, like right now, right?
Max spoke to herself in her low-pitched, sweet voice. She wasn't famous for talking to herself or being by herself, at home she mentored Xiang, at school she was always surrounded by people, when she went out for let's say a walk or something she was always near some source of human life, but today she was sitting in the courtyard with her feet pulled out of her brown flip-flops resting on the grass, alone. It felt good for things to be so quiet and so peaceful, she was enjoying the solitude. After a few minutes Max stood up and slipped her feet back into her slippers, tapped a bug off her long brown kimono sleeve and stretched in her jean-shorts. Max didn't wear wrist-watches, ring-watches, and she didn't carry any type of pocket-watch so she wouldn't know what time it was, probably half an hour ago she saw a river of students run to the cafeteria after she left the classroom but she couldn't tell whether it was time for fourth period or not.
Her hair was done up into a braid at back, it was a short braid though, and then two locks of her hair were put up front to dangle on her shoulders, she went back into the building and started to walk around. The halls were empty. Then she saw an arrow painted on the wall, a railing underneath it, and a case of stairs; curiosity struck but Max didn't know if it would be such a good idea to go up anywhere. Then she heard some commotion in the hall though, and the voices of multiple people started to come closer, Max was able to hear what they were saying,
"Hey, some kid left her algebra study sheet blank!"
"Really?"
"Yes!"
"What's the name on it?"
"Maxwell Parker."
"New kid? I think I saw her head over to the back-doors, towards the courtyard, after lunch break was announced!"
"Let's go get her and make her fill out this sheet, or give her detention!"
"I like the making her fill out the sheet part better."
"Okay."
Max gasped quietly, she hated algebra -- sorely! It just wasn't fun, matter-of-fact, she didn't even know how to do algebra, she always just tossed the sheet onto the floor or left it on her desk or put it in a shredding machine so she could avoid having to do the wrist-aching writing with a pencil. She recalled not filling out her sheet which had indeed a bunch of stupid algebra questions on it, she guessed the teachers were coming to make her fill it out and that was what she intended not to do. They were coming from the hall, and the only way of escape was that same route but they would recognize her, and then there was the courtyard but there were no other exits out there besides the one leading back into the school. Max bulleted up the staircase, she saw a little sign on the door that was at top but didn't read it, she just hurriedly bashed the door open with her side, though it was unlocked and she didn't really have to. She didn't even hear the bell ring for fourth period, which it had a few minutes ago, she didn't even know if this was a staff's only room or not. Max just didn't want to do algebra! That was final!
"Ouch!" She spoke to herself, rubbing her left arm, the one she had used to collide with the door of the ... "Rooftop? ... cool." Max closed the door behind her and leaned her back on it weakly as she held her arm, her weak bones aching in pain and her green eyes staring above her into the sky. "Wow...it's so neat up here..."

Just as he was about to finish the last twenty or so push ups, a girl burst through the roof door. To be honest, it took him by surprise. It was pretty easy to guess that for now his training session was over. With that in mind, the Freshmen pushed himself up and wiped the sweat from his body with a towel he had left near by. Taking the time to look over the intruder, he realized it was the girl from the locker room. The really cute one! What's she doing here? She seems like one of those good girls who'd never miss class. Who knows. Levi wondered while quizzically looking her over. "You're that girl from the locker room, right?" He asked, as a semi introduction and start to their inevitable conversation. It was a bit awkward as she had his name, both of them actually, but he didn't know hers. None of the situations they had been in had yielded that information. Maybe this time would be different.

"You're that girl from the locker room, right?"
"Huh?" Max was taken off guard because she didn't notice someone was on the roof when she came up, she just closed the door and looked up into the clear sky, so much clearer then ... her algebra test. When she heard the voice, shock screamed through her body and Max turned quickly, hitting her arm on the door again in attempt to open it and run back down thinking maybe it was a giant rat or a vampire or, or -- "Aureus?" She blinked twice at the red-haired boy standing in front of her, turning back around and thinking twice before she began to massage her left arm with her right, Max bit her tongue and blushed in embarrasment. "I mean...Levi!" The two had different hair color, different eyes, different voices and completely different personalities but everytime Max saw Levi she immediatley thought "Aureus!"
It was embarrasing everytime, really embarassing. This time she had caught Levi in a turn-around situation, he was sweating, wiping the sweat away. "Sweaty guys are always---" Max began to think and giggled mentally, "--I guess this is payback for catching me in the locker room last time half naked! Now I get to catch him all ... sweaty!" Max blinked twice as she then moved her right hand from rubbing her elbow to rubbing her neck, she broke a nervous smile as she attempted to reply to Levi's question.
"Yeah, I'm -- that girl! ... heh, heh...your um...working out, huh?" Max wasn't usually like so in a conversation or in any type of situation that involved socializing, it was just because she was standing before this person, Levi, which reminded her so much of Aureus in a way she wasn't sure of and she felt that that might offend the red-haired boy. Right now she didn't really know what to say, especially since he had just finished working out too.

Apparently the girl was kinda spacing out, as she didn't notice him 'till he yelled out. And when he did she jumped and knocked her arm against the door. Haha...she's kinda clumsy. But it's cute on her. Oh for the love of... After the girl realized she wasn't being attacked by...some giant rat thing...she called Levi Aureus. Again. I still wanna know how the fuck she does that. Me too... Just as he was about to correct her, she did it herself. It was pretty obvious the girl was kinda embarrassed. Seeing her blush, he simply gave her his trademark, sly smile. Heh, that smile always works. He thought before hearing her stumble through her next sentence. "Oh, it's nice to see you again. And yea, gotta keep in shape. Muscle doesn't form by itself ya know?" The redhead said while scratching his stomach. His abs were still burning from all the situps he had done.

"Oh, it's nice to see you again. And yea, gotta keep in shape. Muscle doesn't form by itself ya know?"
Max caught a glimpse of Levi's smile, yes, neat and all but -- "Is he trying to out-do me? -- waitasecond, It'd only look stupid by now if I smiled at him acting so ... clumsy!" She thought to herself, her jade orbs flashing back and forth underneath her eyelids. Max was pretty embarrassed because of the stupid name-thing already, but she felt a forty-kilo stone of embarrasment hit her hard in the stomach when she realized Levi had no shirt on. "...yeah...right..." Max spoke, her eyes went hay-wire for a second and she caught herself staring at Levi's abs, a quick second later though Max pulled back her vision that was going all rockidy and swallowed a lump of nervousness.
"So um -- my name's Max--" "--well!" "--by the way. Max Parker...yeah, I never got your ... your last name, did I?" Max cocked up one of her slender brown eyebrows at Levi, moving her right hand down from her neck and back to her left elbow to mend to her weak, aching bone. Why'd she always have to be caught up in a conversation at the most awkward times in the most awkward positions?

God she's so cute. This is kinda too easy. There has to be some catch. You gotta be kidding me...What makes her different from all the other girls you hit on? I'm not sure... *sigh* Just don't use that cheesy move. The schizo thought before continuing his conversation with Max. It was kinda hard to keep from laughing. Not in a mean way, but it was just a pretty funny situation. "Nice to meet you Miss Parker. Levi Ranson at your service." The Freshmen said with another smile. You should probably a put a shirt on. Why? I'm comfortable like this. There's a nice breeze blowing anyway. You're hopeless...

"Nice to meet you Miss Parker. Levi Ranson at your service."
Max nodded, she returned Levi's smile. She felt a bit uncomfortable in the situation because he still hadn't had a shirt on, Max felt ... icky around other people -- okay, okay, around guys who were practically naked, she was able to tolerate the half-clothed bodies in the girl's locker rooms because that was what the rooms were for: the girl's to change, un-dress, and so on but the roof didn't exactly say 'Men's Fitness Area' or 'where the guys go topless' so Max felt...strange. She was glad she was bundled up in an old kimono shirt that hugged her waist, her legs were bare, yes, since all she was wearing were small jean-shorts, but the kimono counted. Parsly. Max liked japanese clothing, it was so fitting and comfortable for her, "I wish I wore a shirt under this, then I'd be able to give this to Levi so his chest could stop staring at me..." Max thought to herself.
"Please, call me Max." She smiled, staring at the taller boy, she did best to make eye-contact with him and not let the fact that he was shirtless draw her attention to anything else. That worked for a few seconds, Max sighed mentally and blinked at Levi, sort of motioning at his chest, "Do you ... do you have a shirt or...?"

"Alright than. Max it is." Levi said. He wasn't sure where to take the conversation next, but that pretty much took care of itself when Max asked him if he had a shirt. See. What'd I tell you? T_T "Oh, yea. Sorry bout that." The redhead apologized before bending down and picking his shirt off the ground. He than pulled it over his head. "So, why're you out of class? You don't seem like the kind of girl that'd ditch." He asked before jumping up on a nearby vent and taking a seat.
OOC: *sigh* My posts suck today.

"Alright than. Max it is."
"Thank you." Max smiled, she was hoping Levi would be polite enough to put a shirt on, thankfully he was. "Oh, yea. Sorry bout that." Max nodded and gave him an it's-okay-thanks look when he pulled it over his head. She then had another mental shrug, not knowing what to talk about next. She hoped Levi would come up with something to talk about, he seemed talkative in the past few minutes either way.
"So, why're you out of class? You don't seem like the kind of girl that'd ditch."
"Oh yeah...it's period? -- well, I was sitting in the courtyard when I decided I'd probably go look and see if it was period yet, and then I heard some teachers coming over talking about my algebra sheet which I, honestly speaking, did not fill out. And I like ... really hate algebra so I wanted to avoid it by all means possible, especially when I heard them mention making me do it, so yeah...I kind of like ran up here, I didn't mean to interrupt with your ... work out." Max stopped herself before she went on too long.

"Haha. That's quite a story. I don't like algebra much either. Mainly because I know everything they try to teach us already. Not to mention I uhh...kinda injured the full time algebra teacher. That's why we have a sub. And don't worry about interrupting, I was just about finished. Talking to a beautiful girl is much better anyway." He said while stretching out.
Hopefully Max wouldn't be too embarrassed by his comment. He was only being honest, and maybe hitting on her just a bit. Either way, it was shaping up to be a fun conversation.

Max smiled, she hoped Levi wasn't flirting with her. "I don't think I know anything about algebra, everytime I'm given a sheet or a test or something I always throw it on the floor and steal someone else's or something so I don't even know half the questions ... and whoa, I thought I didn't like algebra," She chuckled, "And thank you, but ... yeah ... I'm not beautiful. I guess you could say n-nice, but ... I'm not that .. beautiful...please." Max said. She didn't take credit for most things she did or had, especially when it came to looks. There were at least a thousand other girls in the world much beautifuler then she was, anyday.

"It's no so bad. Just takes time to understand. Like everything." The Freshmen said with a smile, though a different one than before. This one was more friendly than sly. What she said next kind of annoyed him. He hated when people put themselves down. There was no reason to feel bad about yourself. Especially in Max's case. So far he had found that she was one of the most interesting people he had met. "No you are beautiful. Trust me, I've seen enough girls to know. And don't put yourself down, alright?" He responded reassuringly.

"It's no so bad. Just takes time to understand. Like everything." Max nodded, thinking for a bit how harmless those algebra sheets could be if she gave them a wincy-chance, looking down at her fingers which she had cupped together Max spoke softly. "Yeah, I guess so." She said, still thinking about how many algebra sheets she had ditched in the past, especially in boarding school. Then she heard Levi speak again which ruined her thought-bubble, though Max completely didn't mind. She was starting to get more comfortable with the conversation, wherever it was heading, much more comfortable.
"No you are beautiful. Trust me, I've seen enough girls to know. And don't put yourself down, alright?"
Her greens eyes shone brightly at the red-haired boy, Max didn't blush, she gave him a large smile though. There was practically no red on her face, it was just a smile of appreciation and gratitude, "Thanks." Max replied, but then her sugary smile started to lose a few flakes and she took a breath. "But I'll always be sure that there's thousands of girls out there prettier then me, ... much prettier. You probably have seen a lot of girls before, heh, just not all of 'em right? We go around in large pairs in large places." She commented. Max would never take a compliment on her beauty or anything else she had, unless it were something about her helping someone else or something else, very lightly ever. She wasn't like that, Max always felt ego-tistical when someone said she looked pretty and she spoke besiding them; there was something in her system that restricted her from siding with someone who was giving her credit for something she had, or at least it restricted her from taking that credit anytime soon.

Despite the fact that his reassurance was pretty much wasted, he liked the smile he recieved from the girl. It was just...nice. "Haha, I can't win with you, can I?" He asked jokingly. *sigh* Where to take this conversation now? He wondered while his eyes wondered around the roof. Sure, it was a nice view, but it was pretty dull besides that. There was nothing to do! "What do you usually do when you skip Algebra? 'Cause right now I'm kinda bored." He admitted while running his fingers along the metal vent as a small form of distraction.
