Tai held the metal knob of the door tightly, taking a nervous breath. He let his fingers slip and started down the long hall. On each side there was doors, with numbers labelled beneath their peekholes. It was obviously an apartment building. After a while of walking, the lining doors ended and there were two elevators at his sides. Tai turned left and stopped by the elevator, pressing his finger onto a dull button beside it. He waited.
In a couple of moments, a ding! sound was heard as the elevator stopped, and the doors slid open. There was apparently a couple(?) on the elevator, about in their 20's? Tai was guessing.
Biting his tongue, Tai scooched into the elevator, and sighed as the two left and started down into the hall.

Ding!
The elevator doors slid open, and to Tai's surprise, there was a whole family waiting! "Uhm..." he muttered, still for a moment. "... ... hi?" He put on a dead smile and hurried from the elevator, passing over the red carpeted floor and exitting the apartment building.
Public Highschool 259 wasn't far from here, he knew that, just a coupla' blocks away... ?
It took the teen fourty-five minutes to get to P.h.s 259, exactly, and about thirteen minutes to get his head straight and decide whether he should just turn and go back or go and actually enter a P.h.s for the first time. His cheeks went red hot with nervousness and his hands shuttered. He gritted his teeth.
Tai lifted his head and watched the other students, well, for one thing, none of them were acting like him. He bit his tongue. Alright ... its just a Highschool. It'll be over soon, and there won't be any more people, and- alright, just freakin' go! He ordered himself, darting up the stairs and into the highschool. He took one more nervous breath and straightened out his collar, then continuing to walk. He tried to look normal.
Alright, he thought, now what in the hell do I do know
"Uhm ..."
Tyler didn't know much about Schools, except ... they educate you! Duh?
"Uhm ..." he repeated.
Tai bit his tongue.
"Uhm ..."
His arms became sweaty, as his eyes danced around the place. I could ask ... then I'd look like a total idiot. I can ... I can... His mind spun. Die!
He turned and quickly raced back to the door, there was so much on his mind he forgot how to open it-
Eeeerchhhtt!- Klunk.
Tai stood with his cheek flat on the glass door, holding for only a moment before he flopped down to the floor.
Hmm ... I got it! This must be hell. Someone killed me ... and I went to hell. -Wait! Why would I go to hell? I never did any sins ... no ... why... why are you doing this to me?
He then stood and realized what he was thinking, boy there is something wrong with me.
Tyler sighed, and started walking down the hall like the other students.
The thoughts: What to do? What to do? clouded his mind.

Chihiro had been walking down the hallway on her way to English, first class of the day, when dark chocolate eyes spotted something interesting. A boy seemed to be in a state of mental breakdown, his nervousness like a cloud around him. A new kid, how delicious, Chi couldn't resist.

Altering her course a bit, she sauntered up to him, her books resting in her right hand, a decorated cast adorning her arm though not taking away from her overall attractiveness. She flipped a piece of her long blak hair over her shoulder and flashed a devilish smile.

"You new here?"

She asked innocently enough. She didn't want to scare the boy...yet.

[Tai]

Tai felt like a defenseless bluefish swimming in a pond with pirahnas. His heart sunk. His face so twisted he looked like a idiot. His eyes browsing the hall so rapidly they looked crossed. His fingers and torso shivering so badly he looked like he had just come from the North Pole with nothing but a tanktop and short shorts on. He was totally embarrased.
Just as the crowd departed and he thought he was a free, lonesome man again, a voice shook him that sent a chill down his spine.

"You new here?"

It was the voice of a girl.
Tai's eye fell into the back of his head. I'm dead! raced through his mind. Shaking like a mouse in a mousetrap, Tai turned, he eyed the girl. She looked elder, probably his age, but quite ... short. "Uh ..." Tai mumbled. He was shy as hell! Especially around girls.
He crossed his fingers. His mind was so improper he could hardly recall what she said, than it came back to him.
"... Yeah... I ... yeah, I am new here. Um, this might sound stupid, but ... what do I do now?"

[chihiro]

The freshman girl laughed, tossing her head back the slightest bit, her laugh light and melodious. He was completely disoriented, he was practically doing her job for her. Oh well, poor kid will learn soon enough. She fixed him another one of her dazzling smiles, adjusting the books in her arm.

"Well, have you been to the main office yet?"

She asked him, tilting her head to the right a fraction. It would help if he at least had his classes first.

[Tai]

Tai felt a bit uncomfortable as the girl laughed. His poor mind was spinning like a roller-coaster. As she stopped laughing and had said: "Well, have you been to the main office yet?" Tai was confused. Main office? What? Huh? I am so stupid. He thought.
Not wanting to look too much of an idiot, Tai raised a brow, "No. ... Actually, I haven't been to the Main Office. Uhm ... I'm like ... new to this whole School-Stuff, so ... what do I do at the Main Office and where do I find this Main Office?" he asked. Oh shoot ... the dark side of the world is turning on me!
He smugged his mouth, his mind fell asleep from such idioticalness.

She could tell just by the way he answered that he had no idea what he was doing. Alright then, best to start from scratch. She would help the poor boy out, but at the cost of manipulating his already fragile mind. Sometimes Chi thought she got too much of a kick out of exploiting others for her own amusement, and then she would just laugh to herself. She was snickering inwardly now as she continued smiling dazzlingly at him, perhaps showing a few more pearly whites than was truly necessary, giving her smile an almost vampiric appearance, but that would only be picked up if someone really paid attention to her expression. This boy could barely complete a sentence, it was hardly likely he would notice.

"Well, to the office it is then, I can take you there."

She winked, steering him away from the doorway, people were walking around him awkwardly as he sort of blocked the way and down the hallway.

[Tai]

"Well, to the office it is then, I can take you there."
The girl had said. Tai timidly nodded, "... Uh...okay." he tried to put on a smile but his face was dead. He followed her down the hall, nervously attempting to dodge students pouring down the hall. He thought to himself, I wonder if I have any knives at home ... sharp knives ... that I can ... stab myself with... and in the next life, can I please not be such a loser?
He kept up with Chi, nearly slipping over his own shoelaces. He stratched his hair((lol, forgot what color it was)), and tried not to exchange glances with the students. He gasped for breath, like he was sinking into a pit of magma. I ... am ... going ... to ... die ... I ... he repeated to himself. Sometimes, Tai hated being himself.

The boy continued to show signs of nervousness, which was to be expected. Chi has to use self restrain to keep from laughing out loud, she couldn't believe her luck, he was the perfect target.

They turned a set of corners, left, left, right...Chi kept up a steady pace, glancing back everyone oncein a while to make sure the boy didn't collapse into a pile of nerves or anything. Then she'd smile and just continue on her way. In no time at all they had reached a room with one of the walls covered in glass, showing the inside. Chi didn't know how many times that wall had been replaced because of fights, and someone throwing someone else through it. But it made a good story. Inside were a bunch of counters and papers and people rushing around. The sign above the door, also made of glass, read "MAIN OFFICE" in large black letters.

"Here we are, love. Main Office. Do you still need some help?"

She asked, her voice coated in sugary sweetness. She tucked a strand of her long black hair behind her ear, leaning against the glass wall.

"Oh, and by the way, my name is Chi. What's yours?"

[Tai]

As the girl stopped, so nervous, Tai had almost past the office to get away from everyone. Until he realized what exactly he was doing. He stopped himself by skidding on his heels and nearly falling, he turned around. "Um ... yeah ... this is the main office?" he was goingto say, when she said, "Here we are, love. Main Office. Do you still need some help?"
Tai shivered. "Uh... I don't think so." he replied, shakingly, and was just about prepared to dart into the Office until she spoke again.

"Oh, and by the way, my name is Chi. What's yours?"
Tai was paralyzed. His heartbeat accelerated. He shoved off the embarrasment and replied timidly, "... I'm ... Tai."

Tai...the name sounded familiar. That was it, she'd met another Tai, he'd fallen out of a tree and nearly on top of her...he hadn't understood the tai chi joke she'd brought up. She wasn't going to bring it up to this guy, he wasnt in the mental state to formulate complete thoughts, much less getting a joke.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Tai. I'm sure you'll fit in just fine here."

She smirked, brushing a hand on his shoulder with a smirk. She was afraid the poor kid was going to fall over. She hadnt seen him take a real breath since she first laid eyes on him. He'd better cool a bit or this school was going to eat him right up in a week.

[Tai]

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Tai. I'm sure you'll fit in just fine here." The girl, whose name was Chi, Tai just remembered, said. Tai managed a weak "heh", and was about to say "Um ... nice to meet ... you too, Chi," when she brushed her hand over his shoulder. Now his heart was beating so fast he heard it so clearly it felt like his heart was in his ears. His eyes flipped and Tai bounced off his heels onto the floor. Did she just touch me? he thought to himself. He then realized he was laying on the floor, his eyes went back and he saw the same girl standing in front of him. "Uh...-umm..." he mumbled, managing to get back to his feet. "I ... um ... I ... ... yeah..." he didn't finish a full sentence, recalling her earlier brushing her hand across shoulder and calling him `love`. His cheeks brightened a crimson glow, less than half of it a blush, the rest nervousness.
"Um ... yeah ..." he said, forgetting he was even supposed to be in the office beside him. "... um ... yeah ... w... ..w..." he decided not to finish, and hid his face behind his thin black hair. His teeth rattled. The most embarrasing days of my life. He thought.

Chi's eyes widened and she quirked an eyebrow curiously as he practically fainted. She hadn't expected a reaction so severe. Increased heart rate, yes, incoherent speak, mhmm, but knee buckling fright? And she hadn't even begun to flirt with him, she'd hate to see what he would do if she actually tried. Perhaps this boy was just a little too easy of a target, well then what was he doing here at 259?

She offered a kind of smirk smile as he got back to his feet, brushing a strand of her long raven hair from her face and tucking it behinf her ear.

"You alright there? You took quite a spill."

She asked with a light laugh, in a kindly amused sort of way. Maybe that would put him at ease a little bit. Her favorite hobby was to manipulate people, not send them into a coma.

[Tai]

"You alright there? You took quite a spill."

Tai nodded, clearing out his throat. "Um ..." Take `um` and `uh` out of your vocabulary, doofus! he argued at himself in his mind. He finished, "yeah. I just ... you see, I haven't been around much strangers ... um ... people I don't really know in a long time, except my parents. So I'm kinda ... ..." he paused. whats the word? he began searching through his head. "...shy. Yeah." He put on a faint smile, and dug his shuddering hands into his pockets.

The freshman waited until the boy had spit out his sentence, light humorous smile still in place. This boy made her want to cry from holding back her amused laughter. It was too much. Walk away, Chihiro, this boy is a wreck, and you're not making it any better. She chided herself, but for some reason she couldn't just walk away. For one thing it would be quite rude, and believe it or not she was actually helping him. She guided him to the office didn't she? Exactly.

"Well, we're going to have to change that quick, now won't we? Shy people don't last long around here, especially not at 259."

She was still smiling, but not as broadly, because she was actually giving him a word of advice. Stay shy, and you won't last a week. So what exactly was she trying to do here? Exploiting his weakness but at the same time justifying her actions by giving him advice...did it really even work like that? Oh well.

[Tai]

Tai nodded as Chi had said: "Well, we're going to have to change that quick, now won't we? Shy people don't last long around here, especially not at 259." This young freshman totally agreed with her. Not just because he wouldn't last long in 259, but so he wouldn't look like a absolute idiot when it came to strangers -- and girls. He bit his lip, "Yeah. We are going to have to change that quick," he muttered, so Chihiro wouldn't here. He then finally spoke aloud, "Yeah..." he started. "how exactly are we going to do that?"
