Ryu would have went with the black, himself, but that was besides the point. Dumping the rest of the colors back into the bag, he pulled out two more rolls of red and the other preparations needed for the fiber glass. There was resin to be mixed and all that good shit. It all took a couple of minutes and Ryu slapped on rubber gloves after taking off his black ones. He put a fresh towel across her lap and the side of the bed under her arm and got to applying the cast. He was a little rusty, and made a few small and easily correctable alignment mistakes, nothing major.
After a couple of minutes, "Now for the resin to dry." he'd pull off his right glove, and grab a hold of her hand, helping to hold her arm up so that she wouldn't strain her ribs any more, his other hand holding onto the upper most part of the cast, keeping the edge of the fiberglass held down. After a moment, he'd realize quite what he was doing and look away from her. He'd never really held hands with any one before, let alone on top of all the other awkwardness that had already happened in the past ten or so minutes alone.
He was almost beginning to regret helping her for all of the crap they'd just had to endure. From trying to calm her down, to stripping her of her upper clothes, to accidentally groping her... Then Chaos' dumb ass, and now this... He'd sigh to himself and glance at the clock... He'd been up for over a full day...All nighters sucked...

Mitsukai continued to sit there in silence as Ryu applied the cast. Keeping the broken arm up and steady as best as she could.
"Now for the resin to dry." Ryu clasped her hand as he helped her keep her broken arm steady while they waited for the resin to dry. She noticed how after a moment he turned his face away from her. She blinked in confusion for a second before she too realized what he was doing. Man today was damn awkward in general. She had never been so aware of a man's touch besides those few times with Katsuri but even then anything that her old teacher had done to her that made her feel awkward had been intentional. Ryu did not mean any harm at all, in fact he did not even seem like he was used to this sort of thing before. They both weren't really.

Ryu coughed into his shoulder a bit to help endure the silence, then after another couple of minutes passed. "Alright, that should be good." He'd lower her arm and release her hand. "Let it sit like that for a little bit, then we'll set the sling back up." Just to make sure none of the sticky crap got on the sling...Damn thing would never come off if it sat there and completely dried like that. Standing up again, he pulled off the other glove and went into the bathroom to wash his arms and such again.
Walking back over to the bedside, he grabbed his cloth bracers and bracelets and put them on. "I'll be back in a little bit. Got to take care of something and get some things for you." Namely wood, bracing cloth, and those blankets. As for taking care of something... that Cellphone needed disposing of. Opening a cabinet next to the couch, he pulled out a bottle of lighter fluid. Grabbing his jacket and the phone, he left again, locking the door behind him.
Fifteen Minutes Later; 9:04 AM Pacific.
Ryu's keys jammed in the door and he pushed it open carrying quite a number of thin planks of wood and a couple of bags. Setting the things down on the floor, he locked the door and put his jacket and gloves and such down on the couch. "Now, the sling. Then I'll re pack your leg, and set it up in a brace."

"Alright, that should be good." Let it sit like that for a little bit, then we'll set the sling back up."
Mitsukai watched Ryu grab some more things before he quickly walked out again. Poor guy must be tired by now. she thought as she watched him leave. Ever since last night he had been going back and forth constantly to tend for her injuries, he had not had the time to rest and it was already morning. If only she did not need the help she would have told him to lay down at least. But as it was now she could not risk waiting, especially when it came to her leg. Mitsukai's gaze drifted down to that limb again, could she ever walk again? and even if she could use it again would it ever be the same again? Speed was everything to her and if that leg did not heal properly then she would lose the only advantage she ever had.
Fifteen minutes later the door swung open once again, revealing Ryu carrying more bags into the room.
"Now, the sling. Then I'll re pack your leg, and set it up in a brace."
Mitsukai nodded, they were almost done it seemed but still she did not know what they were going to do about the leg. The knee cap had been shattered by the stick jammed through it. Mitsukai was no doctor but she knew that she'd probably need surgery to fix that. Only problem was unless Ryu was a doctor in disguise there was no doctor around to help.

Ryu pretty much was a Doctor at this point. He'd been treating his own wounds for the most part the entire time he'd been in America. But he definitely didn't trust himself with a scalpel, let alone trying to fix something that he barely knew how to patch. Sitting down next to her again, he picked up the sling and eased her arm into it. Tying it around her opposite shoulder, he'd say "Try to keep it resting on your stomach until your ribs start to knit. Problem being, your knee is more than likely going to need surgery, and I don't know what supplements I can even give you yet to help with that."
He'd move down to her leg and carefully take off her shoe, pulling the laces out entirely. "Now then, don't move it, but tell me if you feel any of this." He'd lightly touch various parts of her foot and ankle to test for feeling. While he was taking out the branch, he was able to tell that she hadn't torn the tendon, but if she had nerve damage... Well... Let's just say that they were going to need a much better doctor than the one he'd called for.
If the result was favorable, "Alright, I want you to try moving your foot. Not a lot, just a little bit, the morphine is stopping the pain, but that only means you could damage it without realizing it."
If she couldn't feel any thing...
Well...we'll get to that later.

Once the broken arm was safe and secure Ryu began to move on to her leg.
"Now then, don't move it, but tell me if you feel any of this." Mitsukai could feel the light touch as Ryu tested it for possible nerve damage, so far so good.
"I can feel it." she told him.
"Alright, I want you to try moving your foot. Not a lot, just a little bit, the morphine is stopping the pain, but that only means you could damage it without realizing it."
Mitsukai tried to wiggle her toes a little bit and was successful. Looked like they would not have to worry about nerve damage. That was good thing.

Ryu breathed, and a tension that had built in his shoulders loosened. "Good, that means you should be fine. I've already called in a doctor, and he should be here in a couple of days." Reaching for the bottom of his shirt, he pulled the black tee out of his pants and turned around. Pulling the shirt up, he pointed a thumb over his shoulder and showed her the massive scar cutting across his back. "Same guy fixed that eight years ago. So you'll be fine, alright?" By the time he spoke the last word, his shirt had already dropped back over his massively muscular torso and he'd turned to face her again.
A small smile reached his face before he turned away and got the bags and the wood. Setting them down by the chair he sat back down and found the scissors again. When he patched it up the first time, he'd just cut open the hole through the pant leg and made it wider, but now that there was no obstruction, he went to slice off the whole damn thing near her hip.
...Err... Crap... More awkwardness. He'd sigh a bit and reach for her thigh, "This pant's leg needs to come off." resting his hand on it gently, he'd start to slice into it, keeping as far away from her...er..well...torso, as possible. The problem would arise, however, when he'd try to cut through the seam of the pants on the inside of her thigh.
...Yeah. More awkwardness...

That was great news now she didn't need to worry so much about what might happen if she didn't go to a hospital. She listened as Ryu talked a little about the guy he called in. Those eyes studying that scar that ran up his back, it looked like it was caused by a sword, a katana perhaps but how did he get it? She was about to ask him that till he spoke again...
"This pant's leg needs to come off."
Her pant leg needed to be cut off, didn't that mean?
.....yeah it meant even more awkwardness to come. Now that he was cutting closer around her thigh. She blushed a little again, biting down on her bottom lip to keep herself under control. Damn she should find some way to make Sky pay for this. It was all his damn fault that they both had to go through this.

He couldn't help but realize the feel of her leg under his hand. He managed to keep his eyes from drifting away from the scissors as he snipped through the top of her pants. As he moved inward of her legs, Ryu gulped a bit. Wishing he was a doctor, he got to the inner seam and tried to snip through it. After a few tries, he sighed. Should have known. "This thing isn't getting through them." He breathed. "Move your leg aside." He'd say in a requesting tone, gently pressing on the inside of her left thigh.
Managing to suppress the flush of his cheeks, he'd angle the scissor downward once she moved her good leg out. Beginning to snip downward, the back of his gloved hand would brush against her groin, and that bastard in the back of his head started flooding his mind with images of Mitsukai in decidedly less than decent form. Ryu couldn't stop the reddening of his face now as he clenched his jaw, snipping down the leg and getting his hand away from her privates.
Pulling his hands away from her and dropping this scissors, he focused on anger at his other side, doing something he never had before: Sealing the son of a bitch behind mental iron walls, sealing him in tighter than a cage, a full windowless cell. Four walls, floor, ceiling, everything. The cackling voice in the back of his mind ceased entirely for the first time in ages, and the images stopped coming to his thoughts; though the ones he'd already sent were still there....
Blinking, he stood up. Without a word he walked back into the living area, opened the backpack sitting on the couch, and pulled out a large, extremely nasty serrated knife. "This ought to get through the seam." He'd say, flipping the blade in his hands a bit before walking back over to the woman and sitting back down.

The feeling of Ryu's hand running up her leg as he tried to cut her jeans off made her blush darken. So much fro trying to hide her embarrassment, she swore she would make Sky pay for putting her through this some how. Maybe she should sick Nami on him the next time they meet, after all Mitsukai was sure her alter ego was DYING to meet the bastard by now. As soon as Nami woke up and realized what had gone on here that desire to kill him would only worsen. Mitsukai could only hope that most of that rage would be directed at Sky and not Ryu who was causing the situation right now.
She did as she was told despite her unease thinking it was better to get it over with as soon as possible. The girl had to look away as her started cutting further down. God she wished this would end quickly, she didn't think her face could go any redder than it already was but it would definitely try the longer this went on.
He got up suddenly, going back over to his backpack to pull out a large knife. The type of knife Nami would die to wield before coming back towards her. It looked like the materiel was more difficult to remove then he first expected so now he was bring out the big guns. She was not to worried though, Mitsukai knew that he would be gentle enough that he would not hurt her by mistake. Though that didn't really help much with the awkwardness of the situation.

Ryu was in a good mood now. No more awkwardness for him! No, sir! He'd figured out how to shut that fuckin' asshole up permanent like, and he had a very elegant and dangerous piece of equipment in his hands. He couldn't be happier. Sitting back down, he flipped the blade to a reverse grip and leaned over her leg. Gripping the bit of seam exposed by the flap he'd sliced down, he carefully sawed the seam with the razor sharp blade. It split like a piece of fuckin' paper, and his hand stopped dead as the seam popped towards its end.
Grinning slightly, he moved back to the outside and slit the other seam just as easily. Gripping the flap he'd cut on the inside, he ran the blade down the leg to just short of her knee and stopped. Pulling it away, he stuck the blade in his teeth and grabbed the scissors. With a few quick motions, he had the bandages removed, and the split in the pants leg joined with the hole he'd widened.
Dropping the scissors again, he took the knife and made a clean slit down the calf of her pants. The steel of the knife would ring as it slit through the cuff of the leg and the cloth fell clear of her wounded leg. Tucking the blade into his sock, feeling the cold metal on his ankle, he slid off his bracelets and gloves. Putting them on the table. He'd need rubber gloves for the dressing the wound.
But then it happened. He hadn't even thought about it.
Ryu's right hand slid to her thigh and his cool bare hand laid flat on it. [Oh, shit...So much for a lack of awkwardness....] He thought as he suppressed the reddening of his face again. The softness of her flesh through the black denim was one thing... But now his hand would be on her exceptionally smooth skin. Not cool.... Gulping again, he tried to play it off by delicately lifting her leg and sliding the destroyed pant out from under it.
Clenching his jaw, he'd grab the scissors once the whole of the leg was out from under hers, and snip it off near the rest of the cut line. Breathing now that he could focus on her damaged flesh rather than the distinctly not damaged flesh, he rearmed himself with rubber gloves and a face mask and grabbed out various peroxides. With a slightly dry mouth, "Even with the morphine, this will probably sting." His eyes would lock with hers again for a moment.

Those feline eyes watched that knife closely as Ryu proceeded to cut the pant leg off. Though she had told herself how Ryu would not hurt her accidentally her instincts still made her a bit cautious. It was only natural for someone to be a bit nervous of someone using a knife so close to their body was it not?
Once he was done and pocketed the knife. It was when he went to grab those rubber gloves that she felt his cool hand pressed up against her thigh. The sudden contact made her heart beat race, she could hear the pounding in her ears and could feel her face burning even more so then she had before. She bit her bottom lip again trying not to make things worse some how. Damn if only she could focus on something else right now then things would not be so bad.
He pulled away again and Mitsukai finally let out the breath that she had been holding in. She had not even noticed that she had been holding her breath the whole time. It had been that bad.
"Even with the morphine, this will probably sting."
Those piercing blue eyes would burrow into her gold, also sending her back into a trance. God she had no idea why he was having that effect on her today. It was strange, very strange. Focus damn you or nothing will get done. Steadying herself finally she would give him a small nod, silently telling him that she was ready and he could continue with the task at hand.

He raised a slight eyebrow at her trance and blinked a couple of times. His now gloved hand waved at her a little bit, and for the first time, he noticed the severe flushing of her face. Of course, Ryu didn't know if her embarrassment made things better or worse for him. He only knew what would have made it infinitely worse. If she was one of those flirty types. He wouldn't have been able to deal with that... Hell, he might have finished that sort off right here, depending on how they were about it.... He really hated people.
Running a thumb knuckle over his eyebrow as she nodded, he turned his attention back to the task at hand, though not before his eyes lingering on her shapely body for a moment before he tore them away. Even as he stared at the blood soaked mess before him, he couldn't help but think how things had been so much easier when he was tossing her around by that thigh... rather than now that he was accidentally groping it....
Jaw clenching again, he started pulling bits of gauze out of the wound itself. Each bit of dried on blood would yank from the flesh unpleasantly, though the morphine ought to reduce that to simply an extremely odd sensation, particularly on a place that was never exposed to the light of day. As the last bits of bloodied material came out of the wound, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty about their last fight before this had happened. He had used this leg as a launch pad for an attack that had almost finished her in one go. He'd probably dislocated that which now needed to be fixed.
Same thing went for their first fight. He'd even outright tried to break her leg. Same one. That same right leg. The second fight was the one where he'd dealt the least damage to it, and as mentioned, he'd been about to throw her by it. Had her up in the air and every thing before Matrim called the fight and Ryu had let her down gently enough. Biting his lip, unseen through the medical mask, he sat up a bit and grabbed the peroxides, applicators, and clasps he'd need to clean out the wound.
"I'm sorry...y'know...." He said in a relatively low voice, gaze twitching a bit, going to look up to her face, but deciding against it, focusing instead on her knee again. "For all those fights." He opened a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and moistened a bit of fresh gauze. "All the pain I put you through. The shit I gave to this leg...." Musing on the thoughts he'd just had as he started to lightly dab the liquid into the wound which would have likely began to bleed faster, now that the old packings had been removed.
"I was trying to send a message to that bastard captain.. That's why I took your title. I figured the Varsity Captain would be the strongest, and if I took your title and threw it in his face th-...." He caught on his own voice. He hadn't felt sorry about anything in years. Hadn't felt sorrow since he left New York. He continued to lightly dab out her wound, changing the material once and reapplying the cleanser. "But that bastard didn't even care... Stupid..." He breathed as he treated the injury, biting his cheek beneath the mask again, not looking up at her.

Mitsukai had to tear her gaze away as Ryu began to tear off the gauze. Mitsukai was not the squeamish type of girl but the sight of the injury was...disturbing. She could still feel him tugging the gauze but at least it still did not hurt.
"I'm sorry...y'know...." "For all those fights." "All the pain I put you through. The shit I gave to this leg...."
"It's oky. she said, flinching a little as he dabbed the liquid on the wound. "You are suppose to hurt your opponents in a fight, it was nothing personal right?" Heck if Mitsukai had the kind of power Ryu did she would probably do the exact same thing, maybe worse depending on the situation. "Besides it could be worse, you could have impaled me." she chuckled lightly as she pointed at the knee he was now tending to.Sure in the past Ryu was not the nicest person, he used to rub her face in her own weaknesses just to egg her on to fight. The first time they faced each other after he had knocked her out he left her laying in the middle if the courtyard. But he had never left her for dead, that at least was something. That and he was even caring for her now in her time of need, that alone made up for everything that had happened in the past.
MItsukai's focused turned to the mention of the pillarship. She had never known why Ryu wanted her title for. All she knew was that he had given it up soon after taking it. Why had he tried to get Matrim's attention in the first place? What kind if relationship with Matrim did he have? Mitsukai did not know anything about her tutor except his relationship with Sara Quinn so she was a bit interested in the details of this story.
"Why did you want Matrim's attention for? Do you two know each other?"

Ryu scoffed a small laugh at her comment. Little did she know that Ryu and Chaos both weren't one for impalings. They were more the tear-you-the-fuck-to-pieces sort of violent. That and the shatter-your-skull-and-splinter-your-ribcage-until-your-own-bones-kill-you sort. Sighing a bit to himself as he started packing fresh clean gauze into the wound, a nasty business considering the nature of it, "Not really. But that bastard is the single strongest thing I've ever seen. I threw every thing I had at him. Shots that would have killed you- hell, they would have killed me in a second. I hit him with three of them. The first one right in the face, and he barely even flinched." Slight exaggeration, he'd managed to do a small amount of damage to the son of a bitch, at least from what he could tell.
"So the plan was to take out one of his subordinates, take their title, and spit it in his face to make him fight me again, and again, and again until I could tear him apart." Grabbing the actual bandages now, he carefully slid one end beneath her calf and began wrapping the wound. Staying silent for a minute as he carefully picked her leg up, moving around the wound and covering it up tightly. Several layers of the bandages would follow, making sure that nothing got into the wound. "It doesn't matter now, though. When I get stronger, I'll track him down and bash him in the face without another word. Simple as that." His voice had abandoned the caring tone for this, reaching his normal gruff tone. A smooth layer of hatred and anger like ancient ice covering it evenly.
He'd sigh again as he reached for the planks of wood. There were two different types. thinner, slightly softer wood he'd use for the base, and a harder thicker wood he'd use to brace the sides of her leg with. After setting several wide strips of cloth under her leg, he'd put a base piece on the bed next to her leg then grip her thigh and calf and gently lift her leg, moving it over onto the wood. With the rubber gloves and the negative thoughts, his mind didn't linger on her thigh as it had before and spared him awkwardness.
Bringing the brace pieces to the sides of her leg, he'd bring the cloth strips up and tie them tight around her leg. The bandage would pad the flesh well enough, and the sort of splint brace would keep it from shifting, particularly when they moved her. "There," He'd say, sitting back, his tone relatively back to what it was before.
