Three Hours Ago; 3:44 am Pacific.
What was Ryu doing walking around at four in the morning, you ask? Why, dealing in black market trade, of course.
...
If you're waiting for me to say that I'm kidding, keep waiting. Ryu was buying some decidedly less than legal items of the poisonous variety, as well as of the sharp and multi-pointed variety. With a small backpack containing said goodies, he strolled peacefully down the road, looking to get back to the hotel without issue.
A scream was heard echoing across the empty blocks of the early morning. Ryu's head twitched up, ears listening for it. He could already tell the direction. He could also tell it was a woman. A woman who sounded familiar. Bolting down the sidewalk he'd been traveling, the pack on his back shifting, he dipped into an alleyway and followed the direction of the voice. Alley after alley, he traveled, to avoid any one wondering why he was running at speeds to surpass most normal human beings in the middle of the night.
Another scream indicated that he was almost on top of them. His jaw clenched, rage already building. The sort of thing running through his mind now was the one thing that would, without question or hesitation, send him into a berserk rage. Slowing and turning a corner, he happened upon three people. One was on the ground. It was Mitsukai. And the man standing over her. He looked familiar, but in the dim light he couldn't tell who he was. Another woman stood nearby, one he didn't recognize.
After a second, the other two turned away, and left in a car. Ryu hung back until they were gone, rage having died some, realizing that what he thought had been happening wasn't the case.
Walking out toward the girl who was passed out on the ground, he glanced around. The others had left. They left her like Ryu had left her after their first fight, but at least she had been where she could have easily been taken care of, amid hundreds of students. Not broken in an alley. Her leg had been impaled through the knee, her arm was bent back the wrong way. Crouching down, "What the fuck do you get yourself into, girl?" He asked of her unconscious husk, shaking his head. Scooping the black girl up, he retreated into the alley before any one else came looking for the screams of pain.
Present time; Dawn. 6:32 AM Pacific.
Ryu's things were strewn about the room of the hotel he had been staying at. In a chair in the corner, he sat huddled over the full sized bed, lower arms covered in blood. On a towel on the corner of the bed, a large stick was sitting in several pieces next to a hacksaw on a blood stained white towel. A medical mask over his face, Ryu was quickly bandaging up the hole driven clear through her knee, having stanched the blood flow with a tourniquet around her thigh, cleaned the wound, packed it with gauze, the whole nine yards.
He sighed to himself as he finished the last knot in the bandage. That was going to be one fuck of a wound to repair properly. This would be all he could do for it for now. Now for that arm. Cleaning his rubber gloved hands a bit with a wet towel, he gripped both halves of her arm. This was going to hurt even worse than getting that stick out would have.... With a quick jerk, he snapped the arm back into alignment.

Her world had gone black and still.....silent. An overwhelming sense of emptiness as her spirit continued to drift in her unconscious mind. What had happened as she had been pinned to the ground, her assailant trying to force her dark half out. Had she died?
No...not dead. she thought, her mind hazy as the feeling slowly returned to her broken body. It wouldn't hurt so much if you were dead.
A fierce searing pain suddenly woke her up from her confused state. Causing her to scream out in agony. Feebly trying to push away from whoever was causing it. No she could not go through another round of torture. She could not take it anymore.
"S-stop...please...." she cried, pain running through her chest as she began to cry softly. Her ribs were most likely broken from the attack. It was difficult to breath let alone talk. Mitsukai tried to curl up in a ball from whoever was doing this to her. It hurt so much and she was too afraid to even see who it was, or where she was. All she knew was she did not want anymore pain.

Ryu's eyes widened. [Shit, I knew I should have gotten a sedative first. Fuck.] His right hand went to her thigh, pinning her leg to the bed as gently as he could. "Hey, whoa. Calm down." He said quickly in a...well, downright shockingly compassionate voice. "Mitsukai," He called her, hoping it would snap her some attention. After all, someone who knew her ought to be someone who was taking care of her, right?...right? ._. "Don't worry." His other hand pressed down on her right shoulder, again, trying to keep her from moving. "You're hurt. Badly. I'm taking care of you, but I need you to keep still or you're going to make it worse."
He leaned over her, trying to sound a nice as possible. Hah, that was a laugh. Ryu. Nice.... Well, you couldn't blame him for trying... Problem being, he had an exceptionally deep voice-- as every one who met him knew-- so even trying to sound kind would probably be scary as shit for her. [They really fucked her up, didn't they? She's a goddamn mess.] Chaos chuckled to himself.
[Shut the fuck up already. You try waking up in what's not even a hospital, especially in the condition she's in.]
[Oh, look who's the hero now. Rescuing your damsel in distress. Gonna kiss her later, you bastard?]
[Damnit, I told you to SHUT THE FUCK UP!]
From here on Ryu tried to push back the manic laughter echoing in the back of his mind as he continued to hold her down. "Just stop moving so I can finish what I'm doing and get you some morphine. Listen to me, hey."

Mitsukai flinched at his touch, expecting to be struck again but the hit never came. That voice did not belong to Sky. It was someone else, someone familiar.Where had she heard it before? For the first time Mitsukai looked up to see how it was trying to keep her still. It was the man she had fought a couple of times before. The one that stripped her of her pillarship before all of this happened. What was he doing here? What was he doing with her.
Sky's putting him up to this. she thought her mind filled with fear and paranoia. He is going to torture me more. Her tiny body began to tremble in fear again. She was just in too much pain to think straight. She could barely hear a word he was saying.
"Just stop moving so I can finish what I'm doing and get you some morphine. Listen to me, hey." She stopped trying to pull away. Doing as she was told quietly though she still trembled. She did not know what was going on but she she could only hope that he'd go easy on her if she obeyed.

"Good. That's good, stay just like that. Your right leg and right arm were severely damaged. Listen to me. I need you to stay as still as possible. You could make it a lot worse." The pressure he put on her leg and shoulder lightened, ready to press back down if she flared up. "I know it hurts, but I don't even know how bad it is yet. So just stay nice and still." Once he was sure she'd stay put, he got up and grabbed the rest of the first-aid kit he'd found in the bathroom. That'd been where the hacksaw had come from, too. It had been left in the cabinet under the sink. Lucky him, and her as well.
Grabbing out the small dose of morphine, he went to the other side of the bed, to her good arm. "Alright, I'm gonna give you morphine now. You won't be asleep, but the pain should stop. If you need to look at any thing, look at me. Don't look at your body, you're alright for now but you might freak out, so just look at me, ok?" His hands would be rubbing a small alcohol pad on her good arm, he slowly stuck the thin needle in her arm and surged the pain killer into her bloodstream. [Shit, I knew I should have stocked up on pain killers... This isn't gonna be enough. Hey, asshole. Make yourself useful and start coming up with ways I can get more morphine.] You couldn't just buy the stuff, after all.
[What? Why the fuck should I help you, you bastard? Think it up for your damn self.]
[Shut the fuck up and do it already, prick, you'll have to deal with her too ya know.]
[Alright, alright, shut up. Use your brain, dipshit. You got the morphine out of the fuckin' first-aid kit, right? So go buy more of them, they should have another shot in 'em, right? You'll need the bandages any way.]
"..." [Right, thanks.]
[Yeah, yeah. Shut the fuck up. Stupid bastard.]
Ryu moved back to the other side of the bed and sat back down. Pulling down the medical mask, he grabbed the splint and sling that had been in the kit. "The morphine won't have kicked in yet, so I need you to hold on while I finish setting your arm. The sooner the better, that way it doesn't start healing the wrong way." Putting the splint on the bed, he grabbed a bit of gauze left over and wrapped it around all of the tongue depressors, forming a makeshift bit. "Here." His right hand came to her cheek, gently turning her head toward him. "Bite down on this. It's about all you've got until the morphine kicks in." He'd put the cloth wrapped wood into her mouth and go back to her arm, beginning to finish setting the bones.
The joint had been realigned when she woke up, but there was still a fracture to be dealt with. Finishing up after a few minutes, her arm would be across her damaged chest-- he'd have to tend to that after she'd calmed down, considering her shirt would have to come off--, a sling lightly holding it in place. Sitting back, he breathed, staring out the window on the other side of the bed. The sun had long since risen. What a fucked up night....

"Good. That's good, stay just like that. Your right leg and right arm were severely damaged. Listen to me. I need you to stay as still as possible. You could make it a lot worse."
That was right. Her leg was certainly in bad shape, probably her arm too though she never saw how bad it was since at that moment she released her hold on Nami. What had happened to the alter ego anyway? As the man left to go look for something Mitsukai combed through her mind for any trace of her other half. Sure enough she could feel the homicidal woman buried deep within her mind. She didn't seem to be awake though, she had been forced into a deep sleep after being knocked out. It would explain why Mitsukai currently was in control and not her. Just as well, who knew how Nami would react to the current situation.
"Alright, I'm gonna give you morphine now. You won't be asleep, but the pain should stop. If you need to look at any thing, look at me. Don't look at your body, you're alright for now but you might freak out, so just look at me, ok?"
Mitsukai did as she was told silently, allowing him to inject her with the needle and carry on about his business. At least now she had started to calm down. She watched him as he moved about again still very confused and surprised as to how he found her and why he was even taking care of her. Wasn't he her opponent? The only time they ever talked to each other was when they were fighting, or him egging her on to fight. It seemed weird that the one to help her out was this man and not a friend.
Her heart sunk as she thought about Kevala. Nami's words still running through her mind. A part of her felt like she deserved this but even then was it true that Kevala did not give a shit? Did the person that she saw as her friend just abandoned her like this? It was too painful to think of. It made her feel like a worthless piece of trash like back in the old days. Mitsukai never wanted to go through that pain again but it looked as if history was about to repeat itself.
"The morphine won't have kicked in yet, so I need you to hold on while I finish setting your arm. The sooner the better, that way it doesn't start healing the wrong way."
His voice forced her mind back into the present. He turned her head and gave her something to bite on. She took it in her mouth and prepared for what was to come next. Things would only get worse before they got better. She bit down hard, stifling a scream as he continued to work on her.
"How did....I get here?" she asked, still having trouble breathing as she spoke. Mitsukai did not know if this guy knew or even saw the pair that had done this to her but she needed to know what had happened. Even if she would not like what she had heard.

Ryu blinked and looked back down. His eyes flicked over her body, then back to her face. "I carried you here." He said simply enough, pulling off the bloodied rubber gloves. Tossing them on top of the pieces of branch, "I heard you scream, came running, thinking.. something else was going on.... Two people were leaving when I got there, so I picked you up and brought you here."
Running his hands through his jet black hair, he looked over at the clock next to the bed. Seven o'clock already. Shit... "That was four hours ago. After I got you back here, I had to take care of your leg, which took a while. I'm just glad you didn't wake up before I got done with that...." After a moment, he got up and started cleaning up the various crap strewn around the area. From the bit to the tree pieces to the extra crap from the first-aid kit.
Dumping what needed to be dumped, and putting that which needed to be cleaned in the bathroom sink, his voice echoed back out. "We should probably get you to the hospital, now that it's morning. They can take care of the rest and get your leg fixed." Shit knows he didn't entirely know how to fix it. Patch it, sure. Fix it? HAH....
[...The hospitals are open at night, you fuckin' idiot.]
[...They are?]
[...Yeah.]
"Fuck..." He said to himself in an undertone before walking back out into the main room.

"I carried you here." "I heard you scream, came running, thinking.. something else was going on.... Two people were leaving when I got there, so I picked you up and brought you here."
So what she thought was true. Kevala did leave her laying there to die. She fought back tears as reality struck her. Just like before Mitsukai was just dumped like trash that no one cared about and that hurt. Nami was right. She should never have opened her heart to anyone. All that ever did was hurt her in the end, though before of course she never had such events caused by an alter ego the end results were still the same. God she was such an idiot.
"We should probably get you to the hospital, now that it's morning. They can take care of the rest and get your leg fixed."
"No......we can't." She said a hint of worry in her voice. If she was sent to the hospital now then it would be even easier for Sky to come after her to finish the job. Not to mention how many other people who cared about Kev as much as she did would no doubt be searching for her. And what about Matrim and Sara? Did they even know what was going on? And what would they do if the did knew? No....it was too risky to go to the hospital. Even in the state she was in there had to be another way.

Walking back to the bedside, "What? Why not? You think they'll come back to get you? I don't think that they'd have left you there if they intended on finishing you off." Insensitive to the situation... Oh well. Not his fault, he had no idea who those other two were. Little did he know that he'd seen them both before. One in person, one in a dossier he'd stolen from the school. ...Well, copied, any way.
Sitting back down his hands reached for her torso. Avoiding her chest as much as he could, he lightly prodded her ribs. To put it simply...they were fucked up. Multiple fractures on each rib. So far from what he could tell, none of them had penetrated the chest cavity, and aside from some likely internal bruising, her lungs and other organs were fine. Sighing, "You don't have to talk about it, but if you won't go to a hospital, your shirt and bra will have to come off. If I had to guess, you've got at least seven broken ribs, your entire torso will need to be wrapped up." Like a fuckin' mummy. He thought it, but didn't say it, now wasn't the time for jokes, he doubted she'd take making light of her being half naked in front of him well.
Not to mention the fact that her leg still had a hole clear through it. One that he still didn't know how he was going to fix.... [I'll need to call in a few favors... Get someone from Japan....] He sighed again.

Mitsukai winced, hissing out in pain as he checked out he ribcage. There was no doubt that Sky probably had broken a few of them as he kept her pinned down but at least she could still breath. That at least was good.
"You don't have to talk about it, but if you won't go to a hospital, your shirt and bra will have to come off. If I had to guess, you've got at least seven broken ribs, your entire torso will need to be wrapped up."
She blinked up at him as he spoke to her. She had to do what now? Damn just her luck. Even though she knew she needed to be bandaged up she did not want anyone to see her exposed like that, whether they were a friend or not it did not matter. Still it was either that or a hospital where if not Sky, then others would find her and that was too much trouble for her to deal with right now.
Mitsukai looked away, blushing like crazy. Debating if she could risk trying to do that part herself but she knew that she would never be able to do it properly even with the use of both arms.
"F-fine.....but don't.....get any ideas..." she mumbled.

"Tch, as if." He looked away from her as she had when she spoke. In the back of Ryu's mind, Chaos was cackling like mad. Ryu already knew that fucker would be putting images in his head for months, reminding him of this whole situation. He glanced at the clock again. [So much for school, I'm going to be watching over her for days...] His eyes widened a bit as he came to a realization, and Chaos laughed even harder. How the hell was she going to bathe while her arms and ribs recovered? Bringing a hand up to his brow, he groaned slightly and wiped his hand down his face.
[This whole thing is going to be awkward as fuck.... Gah! Bad thoughts! Get the hell out of there!]
Ryu mentally berated himself as he gathered up the remaining Ace bandages in the kit. "Shit." He said quietly. "This isn't going to be enough for your ribs..." Sighing again, he stood. "Keep your shirt, for now. I'll be back." Walking into the bathroom, he washed his forearms of blood and walked back out. "I don't know if you watch TV or any thing, but here." He grabbed a remote off of the nightstand and put it onto her good side.
Walking into the living half of the hotel room, he grabbed his gloves and bracelets. "Do you need any thing before I go? Or while I'm out?" He asked, reaching for the coat he'd thrown on the couch. Shit... It was covered in blood too. Dropping it, he went to the closet, and a bright pale blue glow emanated from within it.
Crazy jacket.... Oh well, he'd promised it, and now was as good a time as any. It would never forgive him if he walked out without a jacket now....

"Tch, as if."
That was a good enough response for her to relax a little bit. Sure this guy didn't seem much like the type to do that kind of stuff but it was only natural for Mitsukai to respond in such away. Good thing this isn't Katsuri or this would have been MUCH worse.
"Shit." "This isn't going to be enough for your ribs..." "Keep your shirt, for now. I'll be back." She rolled her eyes at him. As if she was in any hurry to strip in front of the man. Hell she might not even have much of the strength to even do THAT on her own. That little thought only deepen the blush, still it could be worse but even then it was still damn embarrassing.
He gave her the remote to the TV and she took it. Though she was beginning to feel too tired to watch anything the noise would serve as a bit of a distraction so it was worth the shot to try to find something. She flicked to a music station, some band that she had never heard on was playing. Not exactly her taste but again, it was something.
"Do you need any thing before I go? Or while I'm out?"
She shook her head and silently watched as he left the room. Her feline eyes watching the door for a moment before staring back up to the ceiling with a small sigh. She had expected to die last night, or at least be left as she was to slowly die while everyone else walked over her like she wasn't even there. The last thing she expected was for someone to actually care for her, and not just anyone but someone she saw as her rival. It was a strange turn of events.
I don't even know his name. she thought to herself. All this time that they had met she had never once heard his name. Being as how she was always so focused on trying to beat him that she never had asked. It was about time she had a name to put to that face. Guess I'll ask him if I can at least stay up long enough. she mused.

Ryu nodded as he put on the jacket. Luckily enough it didn't make a gust of wind as he did... That would be awkward to explain. Then again, the few times he'd worn it in recent times, he couldn't get any of its powers to work. It was probably pissed off at him for almost getting it caught in his mayhem at Mugen Hall. He hadn't done any thing to help the situation, either.
Putting a hand on the door knob, he stopped and went back to the coat. Forgot his wallet. Keys, too. That would have sucked....
NAO THAN. For a nice time skip.
Forty Minutes and a couple hundred dollars later; 8:13 AM Pacific.
The key could be heard jamming into the door knob, and Ryu walked in with half a dozen bags. Three were filled to the brim with medical crap, one was from a phone kiosk, one from a clothing store, and one from some half-assed fast food place called 'burger king' stupid fuckin' names these people come up with.
Sighing to himself, he locked the door behind him and set the things down on the coffee table. Taking off his jacket he laid it down on the arm of the couch and it glowed dully. Ryu didn't know whether or not that was a good thing, so he went back about his business. "I got some food. Ham burgers and french fries and such." Putting the medical things down next to the bed he looked over at her. If she was awake, "Did you want to eat now? I'm not sure if the bandages will make it easier or harder to." If not, he'd shake his head and sit down next to her. He really had no idea what he was doing.... He could do medical stuff just fine... But he wasn't a people person.
At all.

Mitsukai had not even noticed that she drifted off to sleep until the sound of her caretaker's arrival made her stir in her sleep. Her eyes fluttered open as he set the bags down, drifting back onto the man and the things he had brought with him.
"I got some food. Ham burgers and french fries and such." "Did you want to eat now? I'm not sure if the bandages will make it easier or harder to."
"Sure." she said, trying to at least sit up. Thanks to the morphine the pain had lessened but it was still hard to move about. It was a good idea to try to force something in her now rather than later. At least before he had to wrap her up since she knew what would have to happen then -_-.
"I never got your name." she stated. She had after all been meaning to ask him about it once he came back and now seemed like a good time to do it.

Setting the bag of food stuffs on the edge of the bed, he sat and started pulling things out. Nothing fancy, just ordinary cheeseburgers. He never went to those places, so he just picked out the simplest sounding things, and got several of them. Four burgers and two things of fries. Head tilting back up toward her, "Hah.. No, you didn't did you...? Hell, almost no one in that school has any idea who I am...." He said handing her the food. "Ryu Hayabusa." He said plainly after a second, looking her in those strange eyes of hers. If memory served, he had a title to go along with it or something back in New York.
Ah. That was it. He had always thrown on 'at your service.' He shook his head at his own stupidity back then. Worst part was, he had meant it. He'd been one of the 'good guys' back then. Now...? He'd be lucky if you could call him neutral. In reality, he was just looking out for himself, destroying any one in his path if they didn't suit him.
Most people would call that 'evil' if there even was such a thing. To him, there almost wasn't. There were your friends and allies, your enemies, and every one else. It wasn't a matter of good or evil. Not how he saw things now, it was all about personal vendettas, and who would help you with them. Every one else was just in the way.
A depressing mentality.
Unwrapping one of his burgers, he started eating it, staring at the edge of the bed, rather than looking Mitsukai.
