Just as expected there was a long moment of silence between the two once Mitsukai had nothing else to say. Her mind began to drift as well as her caretaker had during the hour long drive. Though her thoughts were not focused on any particular feelings concerning Ryu but were focused more so on their last subject.
A day had already past since the incident with Sky and Kevala and Nami had yet to surface. The alter ego had not even stirred yet and that was a bit troubling. Not like Mitsukai would be sad if the crazy woman had faded away. In fact it was because she was still present but had yet to say a word that troubled her. After all that had happened between that incident and now She had been expecting Nami to have at least say something. But she hadn't....why was she keeping so silent?
"We're here."
The announcement broke the girl's train of thought abruptly. She caught a quick glimpse outside and almost swore. The place was fucking huge! And this was coming from a girl who had been living in a mansion with her friend not too long ago. She stared at the place wide eyed, mouth slightly gap in shock. How in the world could anyone afford to live in such a place?
"Just a little place down the road, hmm?"
"If that is small then I am the queen of Egypt." she retorted, still staring in shock and disbelief. Damn.....just damn....
The look stayed as she was finally wheeled into the hallway. Again the place was huge, to huge for just two people. The hallway alone could fit over fifty people at one time. She was simply amazed by it all. It was just as impressive if not more then Katsuri's private training area, and that place was customized just for the eight foot giant so the space was needed for that. This though, the place was so spacious that everyone's footsteps echoed through the halls loudly. It was simply amazing.

"Well, there is the rest of the world to consider, your majesty." He smiled like the sarcastic ass that he periodically was, and pointed to the left of the entrance as the transporters brought her inside. To said left, was a wide set of stairs that led right up to the second floor. The more Ryu thought about it, the more he realized how build like a martial school this place was. You had the entrance hall. It took you throughout the whole house, straight back to the back door, to each of the rooms with the sole exception of a side hallway a few yards past the staircase. Then you had those stairs right there. Once up there, there was a small area that basically closed off all of the rooms from visual access, and from there you had the staircase that led up to the third floor. Unfortunately, the third floor was accessed by a circular stair, so getting Mitsukai up there on the stretcher was quite out of the question.
Ryu led the others up the stairs which opened up to a slightly more contained area, certainly smaller than the entrance hall. "Besides, you won't be able to appreciate the full scope of this place until you can move around without being stuck on any thing." Ryu said as they reached the top of the stairs. Walking down the hall into the second floor living area, they all would walk up on wood floors, only to set foot on a massive, lush area rug that took up the bulk of the room. Several massive chairs were dotted around the room, a fireplace in the east wall a fair distance from the huge circular stairs that ascended the twelve feet to the next floor. A huge flat panel, widescreen TV was set up in the south east corner of the room. Ryu had yet to measure it, but he suspected it was a sixty-five inch. With its stand, it was taller than Mitsukai.
Pointing to a decent sized archway in the west side of the south wall, Ryu took them further into the second floor. The main hall here, however, was fairly huge. Leading them to the right-- west-- rather than straight ahead where more rooms were, Ryu walked past the bathroom, the closet, and the secondary bedroom all to the right. Leading them to a single huge double door in the south wall, he opened the door and said. "This, is where you'll be sleeping." But wait, that was the master bedroom, wasn't it? Indeed. Massive affair it was, too. Ryu had had a second bed put in here so that he could keep an eye on her while she recovered, and that among massive paintings and dressers and other things that Ryu really had no use for at the moment, could all be seen once they wheeled her into the room.

"Well, there is the rest of the world to consider, your majesty."
Mitsukai snorted in reply, taking a good look around as best as she could as she was carried up the stairs to the second floor. Man this place was huge, she still could not get over how big the space was. She had to wonder how often she would get lost in such a house. After all with her poor sense of direction and the sheer size of this place it was bound to happen. Heck she had even gotten lost on her first few days living with Katsuri and Kevala before and this place had to be at least twice the size as that one house.
"This, is where you'll be sleeping."
Mitsukai took a good look around the large room once she was wheeled in. The room was pretty impressive, the furniture and the paints were very classy. Her golden eyes fell upon the two beds and she could not help but raise an eyebrow. It was not like she didn't mind the man sleeping in the same room she was in they did that already at the hotel but was it really that safe to do so? He had said Nami attacking him in his sleep was impossible but that was still an issue to be concerned about.
Nah it should be okay for now. So long as when I recover he switches rooms. she thought reassuringly. The only reason he'd share the same room as her anyways was to watch over her as she recovered. It made sense to do so, only till of course she could finally walk again.

As they wheeled her in, Ryu pointed to the positively massive bed in the back, along the south wall. Putting Mistukai on such a huge bed might not be the best idea, in terms of being able to tend to her, but at least she would be as comfortable as possible while they got her fixed up. They being him, mostly. "The left side." He told the two as they approached the bed with the stretcher. Ryu would need to tend to the girls wounds, after all. Being all her wounds were either across he whole body or on that right side, it only made sense. Ryu's jaw opened a little and he bit down on the inside of his cheek. His mind had floated back to those embarrassing and tense moments the previous day when he'd cut off her shirt and bra.
In an attempt to shake himself of those thoughts, he walked past the bed to the huge double doors to its left, soon to be Mitsukai's right. Opening one all the way, he stepped inside and to the right. In the brightly lit room-- Ryu had left all of the lights in the entire house on when he left last to test how extreme the costs of this place could be-- one wouldn't be able to see the bluish glow coming from half a dozen computer monitors. Said monitors were the core of the security system that the entire estate was covered by. Ryu was no computer genius, but he knew enough to have managed his way around the security systems. Enough to know how to monitor almost everything going on in the house, around the house, and-- ooh... That's interesting.
Clicking on what looked like a dozen or six different volume bars, the lights on the third floor dimmed. Very interesting indeed... Turning those lights back up, he fiddled around with a few more small options as the guys literally unloaded Mitsukai onto the bed. As they started collapsing the stretcher, Ryu walked out of the huge side room that was supposed to be a closet. "Be right back." He said to the girl who would be sitting on his bed, the covers having been pulled back this time, intelligently enough.
Following the pair down to the van, Ryu retrieved his bags, and handed each of them a twenty from the wallet on the steel coated inside pocket of the jacket he was wearing. Seeing them off, Ryu walked back inside, shut and locked the door-- all seven or eight locks...-- and made the trek back to the master bedroom. Walking inside, he closed one of the two doors, and partially closed the other. It didn't altogether matter, but Ryu did it any way. "You'll be staying in the same room as me until you're on crutches at the very least, okay?" It wasn't altogether a choice, he'd need to keep an eye on her in case she needed any thing in the middle of the night, but he said it like that regardless. "When you're healed enough to get around on your own, you can take the room across the hall if it would make you feel more comfortable."
He'd walk up to the gargantuan bed and sit down a few feet from her. Shrugging slightly, "That aside, you can live here as long as you like. Not as if I don't have the room." He smiled slightly, his bright blue eyes not glowing a bit in this light, but looking into hers regardless.
After a few seconds, however, he'd ask something completely random. "Are you Egyptian?" With slight emphasis on the first word to denote more of 'are you actually...?'. It wasn't as if he was about to find it attractive, he simply had the thought considering she'd made the crack about the queen of Egypt before....

Mitsukai gave a small thank you to the men as they finished loading her onto the bed. She would watch as the all three men would leave the room before taking another good look at her surroundings. Man the place was huge, she still couldn't get over that. It was a lot to have for just two people. It was amazing that Ryu could afford such a place, it must have been expensive!
The sound of footsteps approaching would once again draw her attention back at Ryu.
"You'll be staying in the same room as me until you're on crutches at the very least, okay?" "When you're healed enough to get around on your own, you can take the room across the hall if it would make you feel more comfortable."
She nodded in agreement. That seemed fine enough, she was too weak now to be independent enough to do some things for herself. For now it made sense to be in the same room.
"Are you Egyptian?"
Mitsukai blinked in surprise for a bit before she started laughing. "No I'm not though I do have an interest in ancient Egyptian history."

"Ah." Ryu shrugged and stood up, moving around the bed and walking to the west wall where the setting sun was shining through a massive three section bay window. Pulling the thick blinds across it, he shut them completely and returned to where he'd been sitting on the bed and plopped down, folding his right leg up onto the bed and leaning on it. Realization hit him then, he'd left his bags downstairs... Crap. Oh well. He looked at the girl then, and sort of stared at her. For half of it, he was thinking of what to say. For the other half, he was looking at her and her golden eyes, wondering how she was among other things.
After a while, he took a deeper breath than the tiny shallow ones that his body had resorted to while he thought and said, "Well, there's nothing to do until the doctor gets here, which should be tomorrow... Soo... I guess we just talk.. or something." He finished with a shrug. He had no clue what to talk about. They'd already discussed every thing that was going on presently, so what else was there to discuss, right? Only thing he could think of were their backgrounds or something. Talking about their friends would be pointless considering he doubted she knew the few people that he did in this state, and the same went for the other direction. There was the rest of the pillars, but asking about them would seem... off. Like he'd saved her to get at them, which wasn't the case... actually, he didn't give a flying fuck about them anymore, with the exception of beating the living shit out of Matrim and taking his title only to rub his face in it. Hmm... yes, that was what he'd do....
Shaking his head a bit of that train of thought, he breathed again in a similar manner as before. "Well, you were asking questions before," Kinda, anyways, "So... keep asking, I guess?" He really had no idea... "You can ask whatever you want." He shrugged again. Nope. Noooo fuckin' clue.

Mitsukai watched him in silence as he walked off to close the blinds before returning to sit on the bed with her. Those husky blue eyes burrowing into her. She could feel her face starting to heat up a little and she had to suppress the urge to turn away. God she had no clue what was getting into her lately.
"Well, there's nothing to do until the doctor gets here, which should be tomorrow... Soo... I guess we just talk.. or something."
She blinked. So he wanted to talk for the time being? Well there was nothing else to do she guessed......though it was a shame that Mitsukai was not the talkative type of person. Hell she could barely keep a conversation going in the car how the hell was she suppose to come up with some topic to talk about now?
"Well, you were asking questions before," "So... keep asking, I guess?" "You can ask whatever you want."
She thought for a moment. She might not be any good with things like these but she had to at least try to say something.
"How did you find this place? And how were you able to afford all of this?" She asked finally. Hey it was something right? And she was actually curious about the answer. Places like this did not come cheap, nor were they the easiest houses to find. At least the question might break the ice a little.

Ryu glanced her over as she thought. Not that he hadn't managed to get quite an eyeful of the attractive girl the past couple of days, but he couldn't help but keep taking in the little details of her body. How she moved. How she breathed. How her pin straight black hair shifted with each twitch of her body. His eyes locked onto her hair for a moment, scanning its length. Despite having been through hell in a hand basket along with the rest of the tiny girl, her hair was still in remarkable condition. Though in all likely hood, she was going to need to bathe soon, and to be honest, he really...really didn't want to open that can of evil flesh eating worms. If seeing her upper half was as bad as it had been, her lower half was bound to be ten times more embarrassing.
At least she still had a good arm to do the washing with... Yeesh.
The main issue with bathing, though, was how they were going to deal with her leg. An arm cast can be put in a trash bag, that's no problem. But what to do about the gaping hole in her leg? Easiest thing to do was wait for the doctor. Do the surgery first, then after the scar had time to form, let her take care of what she needed to... But then what about her ribs?... Ryu would have sighed except for the fact that she finally asked a question. Two.
Alrightythan. "Finding this place wasn't hard at all." Ryu shifted his position on the bed, trying not to jar anything. "I just called up a phone book realtors office, told them I was looking for a mansion in the Long Beach area. They gave me a number to another place that handled the more expensive estates, and the first place they showed me was this." He shrugged a bit.
Letting that sink in for a few seconds before he went on with the other answer. "As for money..." He stopped for a minute, "I'm the only member of my family left.... The inheritance was huge, needless to say." Short lived answer. If she wanted to pry further, she could, but... she might not like the story he had to tell.

"I'm the only member of my family left.... The inheritance was huge, needless to say."
The only member of his family left? ......that meant he was an orphan like she was. Her family had died in a tragic car accident years ago and she eventually had to move to the states with her relatives before Katsuri eventually picked her up. How did Ryu become an orphan? The story behind that had to be bad. Her mind drifted back on the huge scar on his back. Something told her that that scar had something to do with the loss of his family. Maybe it happened from whatever took their lives? Would it be wrong to ask him what happened? Well if it was a difficult thing for him to speak about he could always avoid the question. She would not blame him for it.
"What happened to your family?" she asked shyly. Mitsukai knew it was a hard thing to answer, especially to someone he did not know quite well. Hell the most she herself had ever said to anyone was that she lived with her relatives but never said why, and that was to the two people she used to live with. But a part of her wanted to know this, she was after all going to be living with the man for awhile so it made sense to learn more about the guy right?

Yep. She had to go and ask. Oh well. He'd put it out there. She could ask any thing, that's what he had said. No use going back on that now. He entirely felt like flopping back on the bed and staring up at the ceiling, but that really wasn't like him, so he sat there, looking away from the girl for a minute. After said minute, he sighed. "To make a long story short; Yakuza." His hands came together and he started cracking all of the joints in them. "To elaborate, you first need to understand who we were." But only the bare facts. The fact that the majority of them were hitmen, assassins, and bodyguards did not need to be told. "The Hayabusa were martial artists. Every last one of them. Regardless of what we ended up doing, we were trained from the second that we could walk in Ninjutsu, Kyudo, Jujutsu, Ryuuken Karate, you name it." He finished cracking his hands and leaned on his knees, laying a hand over the forearm of the other arm. "Because of this tradition among other things, we all lived in the same place. Regardless of where we worked, we all had homes in the same town between Kyoto and Osaka on Honshu in Japan. There were some who lived there that were outside of the family, usually family of those who married into the Hayabusa, but we all lived there. Eight hundred of us in a town of about a thousand.
"Each generation of Hayabusa kids are brought up like the last, and when we're about five, there's a massive tournament. The winner leaves the town to a school outside of Kochi on Shikoku. The winner, this time, was me." He looked over to her for a moment, then back to the nice spot on the wall he'd been staring at. "So I went off, training at this school, and every year I go back around my birthday and other holidays to see my family.
"One year, around my birthday, a cousin of mine goes to a bar, and ends up getting into a fight with a couple of Yakuza. My birthday goes by and I head home, like usual I went back, and when I got there, I find out the entire town was burnt to the ground. Every ones dead, or about to die.... I was ten." Ryu's bright blue eyes looked back into her gold cat eyes.

Mitsukai had to hold back a low growl. So his entire family was murdered by the yakuza. Those no good gangsters were well known for destroying lives and causing chaos. It was horrible what he had to go through.
Mitsukai had to wonder about why Ryu had been so vague about his family background. It sounded to her that they were much more then a simple clan of martial artist. A lot more. But she would not press on that particular matter more, Ryu was free to say what he felt comfortable with and if he did not want to elaborate on what exactly his family was then she was fine with that. It was hard enough as it was to talk to some stranger about a past as rough as his had been anyway.
"I'm sorry for your loss." she said softly, her eyes looking into his husky blue as he watched her. "What happened after you found out they were gone?" yes she still was going to ask concerning that. There was still a lot of things left out after all and there was no point in finishing what she had started unless of course Ryu himself put an end to it.

He bit the inside of his cheek a bit. He hated that phrase. 'Sorry for your loss'. What the hell did that do? Most people who had actually lose someone close despised those four words. Gnashing his teeth a bit as she asked her next question, his pupils fluctuated as memories brought back old rage. He took a minute to speak.. Not so much gathering the memories, as containing them. Making sure old hatred didn't reach the surface when there was nothing to take it out on.
"I managed to run into the ruins while the fire crews were still working on it all. I found someone I didn't even recognize and they told me what had happened. Kyoto Yakuza. At that time, one branch had owned most of Kyoto, so I went into the city and broke into the first place owned by them I could find." His hands came together, fingers laced to the inside of his hands than the outside. "I took a sword from my things in the back of the cab, and ran into the warehouse." His hands rose half way to his face, the gold of his bracelets glinting slightly in the artificial light. "They had no idea what was coming... Some little kid ran into a place that even cops didn't go in. What did they know? Most of them didn't even see me before I cut them apart.
"I ran straight through to the back, killing anything in my way. I ran up a set of stairs that led to an overseers box, and was stopped by the bodyguard of the man who was running the warehouse at the time-- the head boss. I'd been lucky enough to find just who I was looking for before that bodyguard got me." His hands separated, and his right thumb pointed backwards. "That's where I got that. I jumped at him and he just stepped aside and whipped down a sword of his own. ..Threw me in the street after that." He finished with a slight shrug, not particularly looking at her, this time.

Mitsukai couldn't help but stare at him in surprise. At the age of ten he actually had the power to bring down most of the Kyoto yakuza on his own? On one hand someone might find that rather impressive, but Mitsukai could see the pain and the hurt from what had happened to him. Even if he brought the yakuza down with his bare hands he could never bring his family back to life. Revenge did nothing to mend a broken heart. What was done could never be undone it was the sickening truth.
Now she understood why Ryu was the way he was and she could not blame him. When Mitsukai had lost her own parents and then was forced to live amongst people that never gave a shit about her she had learned to close her heart and shut out the rest of the world. trying to distance herself from others out of distrust and the fear that she'd lose whoever she got close to again. It seemed at first since coming to 259 that Mitsukai had finally began to move on but once again she found herself losing everything she had ever gained. She wanted to help ease his pain but she didn't know how, or even if she tried if she would only make it worse.
What could someone say to help him? There was nothing she herself knew what to say or do. After all how could the miserable help the miserable?
For a moment she debated if she should close it there. He had already shared a lot with her that he probably would not tell anyone else. It had to be very difficult on him. With a small sigh she would gently place a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry to make you recall all of that.....I only wanted to know you a little better but I went to far...sorry." It was then she realized what she had done and abruptly put her hand back down, blushing slightly as she looked away.

The emblem on the back of Ryu's jacket glowed softly and the material seemed to heat up to the man inside it. The jacket itself was both trying to console him, and reacting to the anger burning behind the face he put on. Reaching a hand up, he brushed the opposite sleeve. The glowing ceased and the small warmth it exuded ceased with a small breeze that rotated around the room for a moment as the girl apologized again. To disguise this, he stood and unzipped the Senpuu Uwagi. The steel zipper tinkling slightly as he did. "Don't worry about it." He said, walking closer to her a bit. "Besides, you don't know the half of it." He finished with a light chuckle, his left hand rising to her head. He'd lightly stroke her hair in an almost petting manner before stepping back a bit and heading to the closet.
Sliding the wind jacket off-- which it didn't particularly like-- he hung it up just inside the closet doors, took a glance at the security set up, and walked back out. Everything was good except for two things: His bag was still by the front door, and they needed to change her bandages again. This second one was slightly less of a concern than it had been the first time. At least they would be beginning to get used to it and the awkwardness would lessen, right?
Ryu retrieved a chair from around the north side of the closet, the area that headed toward the master bath, and sat it down next to the bed. "Your bandages need changing again." He'd say in explanation before walking back towards the bathroom. He'd been sure to stock up on ace bandages, and grabbed several rolls before heading back. Sitting on the chair, he'd set them down and help her take off her shirt if she needed it.

"Don't worry about it." "Besides, you don't know the half of it."
She felt a gentle had lightly stroking her head. instantly she closed her eyes and began to relax a little. For a guy that a few days ago she had only known for being rough and aggressive he had such a gentle touch. She almost felt sad when he had stopped.
"Your bandages need changing again."
"Eh?" she said without thinking, instantly she bit her tongue for the sudden out burst. All this time Mitsukai had not bothered to think about stuff like this. Whether it was her minds way of keeping her sanity or just her naive nature she had in a way forgotten how many times they'd both have to go through what happened yesterday. The bandages would have to be changed often until she finally recovered. Not to mention she'd eventually need a bath too.
She could feel her face flush at the thought of that. Yeah she had not thought about that situation either all this time but it would come up eventually. She only had one arm to use so she would definitely need assistance and so far Ryu was the only help she had. She shook her head clear of those thoughts. Nothing that she could do about that now. It was a matter she'd have to get used to, until Mitsukai recovered they had no choice in the matter right?
With a small sigh Mitsukai would try to take off her shirt by herself. Not an easy task with only one hand but she managed to do that on her own.
"Lets get this over with." she said simply as she place the shirt next to her on the bed. If they had to do this then they might as well get it over with quickly.
