Ryu scoffed slightly in a laughing manner. He didn't enjoy this any more than she did. Only lucky tha--....ok, well not luck-- that he'd put the bandages covering her bust on first. Meaning they were the last to come off, and first to go on, shortening the time she had to be exposed to Ryu drastically. It would be no longer than she had been the first time, particularly considering that Ryu had unintentionally lingered for a few seconds after he cut off her bra.... Sighing inwardly, he unhitched the first layer of bandage around her torso and carefully started undoing it. His quick hands whipped around her body expertly as he passed the material around her, unraveling the top layer of bandage.
Not bothering to roll it up since it would need to be washed any way, he simply bunched it up in his hand and dropped it on the floor next to the bed when he was done. Onto the second one. This time his hands flew back and forth around her waist, his body ending up... rather close to her on multiple occasions. When the bandage was halfway through, and he wasn't quite so close to her, he broke the silence "You know, you don't have to stop asking questions. It's in the past, and they're all dead. Memories suck, but I think we deserve to know about each other at considering where we are." Almost done with the second bandage, if she was reluctant to speak or to continue asking questions, he'd say "What about you? All I know about you is your name and age." as he finished the second bandage.
This was the part where she could-- he as well-- could use the distraction of chatter. Unless of course, she was the type to try and block out the embarrassment, rather than drown it out. Either way, he'd begin undoing the final set of bandages, the inside of his cheek unnoticeably moving between his teeth so that he could bite down to distract himself from what came next.

Mitsukai looked a little a ways as Ryu began his work. She'd get used to this eventually but now was not that time. She stayed very still during the process. Her body instinctively tensing every time the gap between them got noticeably smaller. For girl who barely paid attention to other boys no matter how in her face they got she certainly TOO aware of Ryu's presence and she had yet to figure out if that was a good or bad thing....
"You know, you don't have to stop asking questions. It's in the past, and they're all dead. Memories suck, but I think we deserve to know about each other at considering where we are." "What about you? All I know about you is your name and age."
His words gave her something else to focus on for the time being. Well even though he said it was okay she certainly didn't feel the need to press for information on his past at the moment. Maybe she should take her turn in the Q&A session. But where to start? She had no clue, it was not very often that anyone really asked about her unless of course if they were asking if she was new to the school.
"Well what do you want to know?" she asked. She was still unsure of what she should say after all if he asked her a question she could at least have a starting point.

Dropping the second bandage to the floor like he had the previous one, he started on the crucial bandage. The source of their embarrassment and awkwardness. ... Well, much of it, anyway. After a moment, "Well, the same questions you asked me... Er...well, sort of." Those really wouldn't work, would they? "What's your story? Where did you come from?" He turned his head away from her when he spoke so that he wouldn't be breathing on her when he did. His head turned to face behind her, the right side of his face would be very close to her soft hair. To distract himself from this, he reached for another, more specific question. "Easiest place to start would be where we are, probably. How did you end up in that alley?" Probably not the best question, and he yelled at himself for it in that fucked up brain of his.
"Just explain things that needed to be explained as you go." Probably made it worse, but taking it back now would probably be exceedingly stupid. Not to mention, maybe any anger she had would distract her from the fact that in about five seconds, her breasts were going to be exposed once again as Ryu kept focusing on that spot somewhere behind her, and continued to unravel the bandage.
Once off, Ryu would quickly drop the final...first...whatever bandage and pick up one of the rolls of bandages. He'd go to apply it, then remember that checking up on the condition of her ribs would probably be a good idea... Crap. He'd lean back away from her slightly, and his eyes wouldn't be able to help drifting down....
He'd bite the inside of his cheek and lightly prod her ribs in various spots, avoiding her chest as best he could. There were likely broken ribs beneath her bust as well, but those would have to wait until they were more comfortable with this.

"Well, the same questions you asked me... Er...well, sort of." Those really wouldn't work, would they? "What's your story? Where did you come from?" "Easiest place to start would be where we are, probably. How did you end up in that alley?"
Mitsukai would give a light sigh as he asked the last question. Well she knew this was coming anyway. Not like either of them had happy memories to share. At least this was something more recent, something that Ryu would need to know anyways. It would not be so hard to tell at least. She tried to keep focus on how to answer his question first, rather then how close they were from each other or what would occur soon.
"It's a long story......" She began, she could feel the first layer being taken off from her chest and would force herself to think only of how to word her answer and keep herself from blushing. "It all started one night when Nami took over my body. At the time I was living with one of my closest friends, my alter ego had been born about a month before and from day one had made it clear she intended to kill my friend. I don't know why but she has it in for anyone I have become close to...." she closed her eyes to block anything other then her own thoughts as she explained the story to him.
"At the time since her awakening Nami did not seem to stir, I could still feel her there but her presence was not as strong. I didn't think at the time something bad would really happen but....one night while I was fast asleep that bitch took over my body. She snuck up into my friends room and...." Mitsukai paused for a moment, trying to keep her voice level as she could feel Ryu checking her ribcage. "She dragged her to my bedroom and tortured her, nearly killing her before her boyfriend showed up and knocked Nami out. At the time I had no idea what had happened, it was only when I woke up in the hospital. My body a bit beaten up did I find out what happened. So I ran away, taking what little money I could and began moving from motel to motel as far away as possible. I was afraid that if I stayed Nami would try to finish what she started. Until I could figure out a way to control her I needed to stay away from the others." There was another short pause before she continued.
"I left a note to my friend telling her what happened and how sorry I was. I even warned her to not bother to find me. If she chased after me she might not have bumped into me but the one that wanted her dead but she did not listen. The night you found me she had caught me, even tried to call Nami out to confront her but I could not allow that to happen so I tried to push her away but that was when someone else arrived." Mitsukai could not bare to say their names, for whatever reason she did not want to say them. Maybe because in someway she felt like protecting them. After all Kevala was her best friend and even Gabriel as horrible as he had been that night had once been her teacher. She was unsure...hell for all she knew the reason she could not speak their names was because doing so would cause too much grief. Either way at this point she would keep silent.
"That man was a close personal friend of hers, he was even there the night Nami was born and he knew who had caused the incident....he tried to bring my alter ego out to punish her but I was too afraid that my friend would get hurt in the crossfire so I fought him. He tortured me until I let Nami come out, after that I do not know what happened...." Her good fist clenched into a tight ball. She could hear the hurt on her voice even though she had tried to hide it, the memory of that horrible night flowing clearly through her mind.
"All I can really remember was how many times Nami kept screaming at me to let her out....she kept telling me 'let me take the fall'....'they don't care that your not the one who did it they will kill you if you don't fight back'......I-I don't know what to do anymore...." With that she fell silent. She said what needed to say and didn't know how to continue.

Ryu noted all the bruising on her ribs, marring her smooth skin. That and her story helped him keep his focus as he started winding the first layer of bandages around her body quickly and carefully. The tightness of the bandages would be fresh again, but it was that tightness that helped the body heal when it came to ribs. Helped them stay aligned in the original manner, rather than opening wider and wider every time they were broken. That would suck... a persons torso would end up twice the size it had been. Slight exaggeration, but.... Her bust was quickly covered, and his own tension stopped building, though it wouldn't be completely gone until that black shirt was back on her small body.
The rest of the bandage moved downward of her chest and wrapped around her lower ribs as she continued to speak. It was a fucked up story. Kind of like his, only on a more personal level. Her best friend, it sounded like, had betrayed her as much as it would seem that Mitsukai had betrayed the other. The alternate personality was the discerning factor. It was the real problem. They usually were in the advanced cases of Dissociative Identity Disorder. They always caused issues in the lives of the original mind. Ryu had been lucky enough that Chaos didn't interfere with his. That his subconscious had dealt with it, not that he had much of a life to disrupt....
The first bandage finished and he reached for the second as she finished speaking. Transferring the bandage to his left, he reached his right hand up for her face. His hand would lightly touch her jaw and turn her to face him. Looking her in the eyes, he'd hold his hand there for a second "You stay here... and you deal with it." before moving his hand to the left side of her head, stroking her hair again. "I already told you that I'd help you deal with your alternate personality. So you stay here, and let me help you."

Mitsukai could feel his gentle touch as he turned her head over to face him. She opened her eyes to gaze into his husky blue. Again she was struck by the beauty of those eyes. They looked surprisingly gentle for someone who could be so harsh in battle.
"You stay here... and you deal with it." I already told you that I'd help you deal with your alternate personality. So you stay here, and let me help you." his hand would come up now to gentle stroke her hair. Her eyes closed again as a small blush crept up upon her face. She was really grateful to hear that. It was one of the few times in her life that someone actually cared for her. The others had either abandoned her or in the last case left her for dead. Would this be any different though? Would Nami somehow ruin this too? She hoped not. She did not want to lose Ryu.

Ryu was most definitely two sided. ...Hell, the large man was quite more than two sides. More like half a dozen. This, however, was the real him. The Ryu behind all of the walls, beneath the armor, past the mask, and through the muscles. He harbored so much hatred that with those he cared for, he had to be gentle. They were all he had. They were all he'd ever had. Friends. As much as an island as Ryu seemed to be, those that he was close to he held dearest. He protected them ferociously, with his life. That was just the kind of person he was. The kind of person he'd always been, and regardless of the amount of sanity that his mind contained, that was the way that he would always be.
When she closed her eyes, he couldn't help but smile at her. It wasn't just her golden eyes, Mitsukai's entire demeanor was extremely cat like. Feral when she was mad, skittish when she was scared... Everything about her, even her body shouted feline. All that was missing was purring... though Ryu had no idea how he would react if she started doing that. He noticed the reddening to her cheeks and his body leaned in as the stroking of her hair slowed.
Realizing what it was that he was doing, Ryu bit the inner part of his lip and pulled away, pulling his hand from her head. [Dumbass! Don't fuckin' do that!] He hadn't meant it, but he was about to kiss her. He found these new emotions a grating irritation, but he couldn't help it. He'd never even been attracted to any one, and here he was about to kiss a girl he hardly knew over some stupid emotions. Moron. Then again, it was probably just that lack of experience with those emotions that had him respond in just such a way.. He had to get control over that shit.... And besides that, he reasoned to himself, she was seventeen. If he were to do anything in any sort of regard to that, he'd wait until she was eighteen.
...Now he was wondering what her birthday was. Sighing to himself he went back about the business of getting her ribs better.

Mitsukai would never know how close Ryu had come to kissing her. By the time she opened her eyes again he was already back to work. In a way it might have been a good thing that she was so blissfully unaware, things could have gotten even more awkward between them at that moment. Yet again who knew what the girl would have done if he had. The answer to that question would never be known...for now at least.
For a moment she was silent as he continued about his business. Since Ryu never asked any further questions she did not know for the time being what to say. It was hard to suddenly switch from such a morbid topic anyway but she would at least try.
"So, why did you move here to the USA?" she would ask, assuming that it was her turn again to ask some questions. They had to do something to break the silence right?

Questions. Right. Damn. Would have been easier to play things off that way... Oh well, maybe they'd just go back and forth, in that case. As he wound the bandage tight around her body, his head turned away from her again in the same way as before, he considered her question. Truth be told, he'd almost forgotten why he went to New York. Yes, it was an important decision to have been made, but it hadn't been such a major event since no one had objected it. He just up and went, more or less. But he soon enough remembered.
Little did she know that she was right back on the topic that she was trying to move away from, albeit, back on Ryu's story rather than her's. "Power." He said cryptically before elaborating. "After I recovered from the warehouse, which took a long time, I decided to go somewhere where I could get stronger." The second bandage was almost done by this point, "I don't know if any one here realizes this, but the corporal punishment system as Americans have devised it is world famous. Word of these schools even reached to Japan. Particularly one school. Five-five-two.
"It was one of the worst and most infamous schools in America. Overrun by gangs, the pillars were an absentee dream. No one ever saw the school captain, you only ever heard about two of the pillars.... Hell, the only time you ever seemed to even know that much about them was when someone kicked the shit out of them." He finished the bandage against the upper part of her small back and pulled away from her, looking at her for a moment before reaching for the final bandage.
Starting to wrap it around her torso and shoulders, "I ended up hearing about this place, and decided to go. What was the point of constantly training in safe conditions? Especially after my back, I started to go nowhere. Hell, I started to fall behind every one else because of the pain." He shut up for a minute or two as he wrapped the bandage around her, forming a tank top of bandage again. "All that was left in Japan was an empty hope of revenge amid trying to fully recover. So I went to New York to get stronger, or die trying...."

So thanks to his tragic past Ryu had come to America to become stronger. That was something Mitsukai could relate to in an odd way. Though for her coming to America was not her own personal choice, it was more like a forced decision but since living here she had learned quickly that the only way to survive in this world was to be strong. She thought at first that she was fairly strong until she got caught up in 259s system. She soon found out she had a long way to go before she could call herself that. Since then she had been working her ass off to be able to defend herself.....
So far judging by her last 'fight' that had not gone over so well....then again she had been in this school system for under a year now. Ryu on the other hand had been to a school that sounded just as bad if not worse then this one and he was fairly strong. Strong enough to be able to toss her around as he had in the past.
It was almost admirable in a way his dedication to improving himself. Even through all the fucked up shit he had been through Ryu still had something to dedicate his life to. Something to motivate him to continue living. Something most people who if they grew up in his situation would never have.
She waited for a moment wondering if they were really going to go back and forth with this question stuff till the task was done. The silence would give Ryu his chance to turn the tables but if he stayed silent she would think of something else to ask instead....

The bandage finished unraveling in silence and he pulled it tight across her shoulder, pinning it down to the rest of the bandage. He had more questions, but they would be spending quite a bit of time together. They could wait. "There." He said, sliding his hands out from behind her, his right hand lightly trailing her left side before he pulled away and sat back in the rather large chair. It was a comfortable armchair. Heavy though... meh.
"I'll go get something to eat, I guess. Doctor should be here tomorrow. Anything specific you want?" He'd ask, then proceed to go get it, thinking that he was going to need an actual car. .... Then again, a license would also help....
TEIM SKIPZ!!
Why? cuz I ran out of shit <_>
The Next Day; Friday, 2:18 PM Pacific.
Ryu was sitting in front of the security set up in his closet. Screwing around with all of the various shit, making sure to avoid anything that would make an obvious difference to Mitsukai. Didn't want to scare her with the holy-shitness of the house. Its sheer bulk was enough of a deal. She didn't need to know about just how high tech it was, too. And hell, it wasn't even as high tech as it could be. A lot of shit had been removed, according to the realtor and all of the crap he was going over in the security systems. A lot of stuff was offline, and wouldn't turn on. Electrical fences, sensors, all sorts of shit.
The cameras pointed out at the front gate picked up a car driving up and the screen flashed, telling him so. The intercom went off, and Ryu let the car in. It was the doctor they had been waiting for. "He's here." Ryu said to the girl on his bed, walking out of the closet and out of the room, whether she was awake or not. Though he'd said it loud enough that it ought to rouse, if she had been sticking to the same light sleeping habits that she had had for the past couple of days.

Sure enough when Ryu had informed her of the doctor's arrival Mitsukai had been asleep. It was not a very deep sleep though it was more like a nap. Mitsukai had been drifting in and out of sleep for the past few days, something that was normal for someone who was recovering from serious injuries. At least thanks to the constant shots of morphine she still barely felt any pain.
Her eyes slowly slide open to the sound of his voice, she had barely registered his words before Ryu had left the room. Assuming that he would be back shortly she would try to sit up a little bit and keep her eye out for his return.

Once Ryu was out the door of the massive master bedroom, he ran down the hall, bolting at top speed, rounding three corners and heading down the stairs. Practically jumping the whole bloody staircase, Ryu opened the front door as the car pulled up. A middle aged Japanese man stepped out of the car and the two greeted each other warmly in Japanese. Ryu told the surgeon what exactly was going on with Mitsukai's leg as well as the fact that he'd set up an area for this in the massive kitchen, away from anything that could screw with the operation.
Unpacking various many things from the car, the kitchen was set up into a full operating room. Several minutes were spent sterilizing the floor in the taped off area among other things before Ryu led the man up the stairs, through the hall...or two, and into the room with another stretcher. Walking to the back of the room and the bed, Ryu pulled the arm chair aside as the Japanese man wheeled the stretcher up. "This is the surgeon I was telling you about. You can call him Kisaragi."
"Hello." In a thick Japanese accent. Truth was, he didn't speak very much English. They'd proceed to load her up onto the stretcher and basically reverse the process as when they brought her in, carrying her down the stairs like a 150 pound piece of luggage. Then down the main hall, all the way back into the massive kitchen, most of which was out of view for the fact that the area behind the door had been cordoned off and looked much like a hospital operation room.

"Konichiwa Kisaragi-san." she greeted the surgeon giving a small bow with her head. It was not too hard to tell that the man did not speak much english due to the heavy accent and even the confidence in his voice as he spoke. At least if he saw that his patient was fluent in his native tongue it would make communication much easier. It had been years since she last spoke her first language, but it was very evident by the sound of her accent that she was fluent in japanese as well as english.
Mitsukai would allow them to load her onto the stretcher and carry her off to the site that the operation was about to take place. Eyebrow raised when she noted that everything had been set up in the kitchen. Really....the kitchen.....
Well it was not like this place had it's own built in operation room, they had to make do with something right?

Blinking, [She speaks Japanese?] Then again, plenty of people knew that much. Watch a little bit of cartoons and you knew that much. Her pronunciation was perfect, though... Hmm. Regardless, Ryu didn't note it and neither did Kisaragi. He wasn't the chatty sort anyway, and just bowed his head in return with a bit of a smile. He talked enough to tell you what needed to be told, but then proceeded to shut up until something else needed to be said. Usually, anyways.
Regardless, they would transfer her to a more stable platform and move the stretcher aside, then begin the process. Setting up the various materials around her body as well as setting up the anesthesia. Soon enough she'd drift off into a dead sleep. One of those drool rendering ones where you just flat out didn't move for eight fuckin' hours. Sedation was a bitch like that.
After she was good and out of it, the surgery would begin. It was quite a process from unpacking the wound, opening it up so that it could heal properly, attaching parts of the cartilage back together, applying a graft, sealing it all up. And as nasty, grueling, and time consuming as that may sound, it was all the worse in actual practice.
Luckily, we have time skips.
Yes again, mofo.
Eight hours later, 10:04 PM Pacific.
The surgery had been done for quite some time, and they were back up in the room. Her leg in relatively one piece, but still wrapped up tight and lightly secured by a splint. Ryu sitting in a chair next to the bed. Kisaragi having already left, not needing to stay as he told Ryu every thing that needed to be told. Between Calcium, C, and D being a very few on a long list of supplements that she would need to take to recover and the slightly shady prescription he'd given Ryu for pain pills instead of outright morphine all the way to rehab instructions... He had every bit of information he'd need to help Mitsukai. Hell, Ryu had a goddamn notebook sitting on the edge of the bed a little ways from the girl.
Speaking of Ryu, his arms were crossed and his head hung as he sat back in the chair. Eye lids closed, he was passed out in his seat for the waiting. Though the anesthesia ought to be wearing off any time.
