Raison D'etreLunch had been oh but a short few hours before hand, she was wandering the school, looking for someone to attack. There was no real reason for the attacks, or to the naked eye; such would seem to be true. Tankdom or bust. It was all she had on her mind, all that Addie could think about. Grow strong to stand on her own, to survive in the things to follow... But most of all, to prove to herself that she could accomplish anything she set her mind too. After all, she became a decent person almost over night...lies. It took a while, but she did it. Hunger. It seemed to bother her, but dinner was oh but a short few hours away. There was no point in eating, save one's tummy for din din. Yes, it was the best plan..... RIGHT!? -gurgle gurgle- "Shut the fruck up tummy...We just ate..." Addie mumbled to her stomach as she looked down for a moment, before pushing open the doors and heading out into the grey land called the court yard. The weather report said there would be rain, perhaps it would rain for a few days. Such a thing would be wonderful....right!? YER! Outside there was a group of students, random ones, they stood chit chatting about how they skipped class. Yes, there had been some form of event going on in the mall. Which lead them all to getting balloons. Walking by, Addie would grab a tooth pick from her pocket... WHEN EATING SAMMICHES WITH SPINACH! YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO SAFE! Passing them, she'd reach up and pop the balloon of one of them, smirking a little as she did so.BANG! Random girl: Holy Guacamole Batman! ;___; Guy: D< Girl: >___> bitch Guy two: WHAT THE FrUCk "Wanna fight about it?" The German-Japanese girl questioned with a smirk as she stared down upon the students. Obviously they were younger... All Together: RUNNNNNNNAWWWWAAYYYY!!! "LAME! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO FIGHT ME!"

"LAME! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO FIGHT ME!"
"Funny," Matrim would say, standing up from the spot he was resting at, studying some English terms he had to have memorized for an upcoming test. He abandoned the work at the first chance he got since he really didn't want to do it, but he couldn't help but watch Addie and the spectacle which took place when she seemed to antagonize a fight with the kids. Matrim was intrigued by it, "I didn't peg you as the fighting type Addie. In fact... I don't think I've ever seen you fight..."
He looked to the right trying to remember, "I... I don't recall a single time in which I've seen you fight... I mean really fight. You've changed a bit since I've last saw you... or maybe you're using intimidation as a way to keep from fighting?" He asked. He was honestly curious since he remembered the girl from Alaska, and he couldn't remember her fighting. He may have been missing something but he couldn't recall a single account.
I wonder if she can fight...

There was the familiar voice of a blue haired man now grown up, she'd turn to look at him slowly. There was a frown on her face as her bright blue eyes looked at him; watching as he got up. Speaking words about the past, her passive ways before hand, and the questioning of her fighting. Perhaps it was true he had never seen her fight, maybe the past was another land.. But she had indeed seen the hardships of a fight, she knew the sting where she had once been punched, and the crushing defeat of losing. It was not something she didn't know. But, it was something she tried to stay away from, the present was the very thing that required her to be strong. Pushing away something only kept her weak, she needed to become stronger.
"Maybe, the Addie who didn't fight was nothing more then a ruse. A way to keep oneself from fights, to keep safe, when around people? Maybe, you knew nothing more then a fake? I mean, if you recall properly I was sent to Alaska for hurting people, sending them to the hospital in life threatening states." There was a pause, she had to laugh, it was funny. She was going to try to anger the School Captain, if only to test her limits. "I think I've gotten a little soft because of all the time spent doing nothing..." Her voice was cold, she wasn't acting like her silly self. Developing into someone a little nicer was her goal, it was something she wanted to do....
Way back when.
There was a time when she wanted nothing more then to not fight...But things change, people need to revert back sometimes. Matrim was her friend at some point, but regardless of that she needed to test things out. It was grey out and she was hungry, there was a murmur amongst those who looked at the two. Standing across from each other like a show down. A laugh could be heard over the pause, some fool had challenged the captain. Or so they assumed.
They were right.
Addie had to sacrifice things, even he own well being in order to become someone stronger. Tilting her head to the side, her blue stare would look at the young man before her, she was smirking while standing there. "Maybe you never really knew me?"
Nothing else mattered.
With that Addie rushed towards matrim, pulling her arm backwards, she'd get close and go right for the face. Her movements were rash, but she was desperate for a fight. The outcome didn't matter, as long as she got something from the fight. Knowledge to help her strive to become better. There was no way she'd win, it was known. But fighting a losing battle was something she always seemed to be doing. When having a goal, you never give up. No matter how futile it seemed, she held on to it in hopes of one day achieving it....One day.

"Maybe you never really knew me?"
After her little speech Matrim grinned. She wanted him to fight her apparently, she rushed towards him, pulling her arm back and then letting loose a punch toward his face it seemed. He ducked under it, his arm would push against her back and the foot on the side she was now on would hook her foot to trip her forward to hopefully cause her to land on her face and slide. Once he had avoided the attack he would turn.
"Oh I knew you, maybe it's more like, I don't know you now," He said observing her movements, "This doesn't suit you Addie, you should probably quit this unless you're ready for it all... because I don't think you realize just how serious it is to be involved in all this."
He meant it, it was dangerous. He wasn't saying she should quit, merely that if she was going to get into this, she better be damn certain she was ready for it. Because he would show her just what she was up against. He would be the example of what a serious fight looked like, what it felt like to take a serious punch, to take an attack from somebody who wanted it just as much, to see somebody who took the fight as life or death.
He wouldn't try to hurt her, he would restrain himself that much, but he'd definitely be giving her a taste.
"So if you REALLY mean it then show me!" He said, opening his arms to her, practically begging her to try again to hit him.

Easily he would avoid it and trip her, causing her to fall and slide. Falling on her face was bad, but ow!...OW HER FACE D< bitch!
Perhaps he was right, maybe she had changed, back into the person she once was, but he never knew that side. Maybe it was really out of character for her, but the truth of the matter was. She was weak and it needed to change. If only to survive, she needed to become someone to stand on her own two feet. Running away would never be an option. Getting up slowly, Addie would turn to look at Matrim, was he trying to get her to quit?
"I'm aware its dangerous, but I need to become strong, I can't always hide or runaway. Which is why I am going to fight you." She'd look to the ground for a moment, fear rattled within her. Matrim was strong, he was always fighting;he'd not go easy on her. The outcome of the fight would probably not be good, but she was fully ready to accept such an outcome.
"I'm not going to give up!" The girl said to herself before she looked up at her friend, there really was nothing else she could do. Fighting Matrim would help her in so many ways.....Or hurt her in so many ways. Maybe both? Standing before her with open hands, it wasn't a call for hug.More like a scream: HIT ME HIT ME HIT ME....
With sensation.....It was not the time to have a song from Mustard plug in her head. Regardless, it was time to make her first move. When in a fight with a large buff man, the best move is always to...RUN? No, not this time. Her expression changed from that of a plea to something serious. She wasn't going to hold back, she was gong to push herself to withstand the battle...NO MATTER WHAT! Knowing he was way stronger in every sense, she made a personal goal to land at least fifteen attacks. Matrim was fast, strong, and knew his way around a fight. It would be a tough goal to achieve, but she was going to try. Rushing forward, she'd jump to the left of him and prepare herself to punch him, though it was all a ruse to kick him. She went for the back of his knee, in hopes from bringing him down.
There was no plan, she couldn't think. All that was on mind was lasting the fight and completing her goal.

(OOC: Not at all, a feint is actually a good move =P)
She feinted a punch and instead launched a kick to trip him up. He turned, pivoting on his left foot to face her so that her kick connected with the outside of his left knee. He would launch a punch with his right fist, aiming straight toward the direct center of her chest, the sternum. He wasn't going to hold back if she had this drive in her. Either she meant it or she didn't, if she did mean it then getting her ass kicked would only fuel it.
If she didn't mean it, if she wasn't ready, then being beaten would defeat this spirit, return her to her former self and save her from getting involved. At least, that's how Matrim saw it anyway. He would follow up the punch with a head butt, aiming to slam the top of his head against the bridge of her nose.
Why the hell do you want to get so strong? And why do you feel it necessary to say it out loud as if you're convincing yourself to keep going....

Yes, just as she thought, Matrim moved, only to get hit in the side of the leg. Yes, that would not do. But as he moved, she was able to see that he had an attack to follow. Well obviously, it was Matrim she was fighting, there would always be more ass kicking. Bringing up her hands defensively, Addie attempted to cushion his attack, or at least to stop it. Turning her head a little, the head butt hit her cheek/nose area, instead of being full on. It hurt, there was nothing she could do but fight on. There was no way that she was going to go down easily, he'd have to put up with the annoyance that was Addie.
Persistent.
Annoying.
and
fighting without a really good reason. While they were still close, Addie would grab Matrim by the head. Grasping some of his hair as she used her right hand to follow with a punch under the jaw. To be strong means to never give in, even if the odds are against me.
To be strong meant to be able to stand on the same ground as those around her, it meant that maybe they'd not go away, right? If she was strong, people wouldn't disappoint her and she'd be able to handle anything thrown her way. No matter the abuse she put herself through, there was always fire there telling her to work harder to become someone strong. Someone people stay with, someone who has a meaning...Some form of purpose. Empty days had long since been filled with seeing people and glimpses of happiness. That was before she started her quest. People would stick around more if she was stronger. Happiness and not wasting her life doing nothing, they were things she wanted.
She was getting too close to the sun, she'd crash and burn on wax wings constructed of false hope.
Being strong to be able to handle the things that happen, to be able to help those around her. In order to win them over. Addie had a silly way of viewing those around her, in the delusion she'd have to catch up to them. Even if she knew, always in their shadow. The light eclipsed by them, leaving her in the dark. Doomed to chase some more. it would always be the path she followed.
Following her punch with swift knee to the side, Addie hoped to at least accomplish her goal for the fight.

She grabbed his head, her fingers holding onto his hair, her right fist aimed to punch him, his hand catching it as she sent a knee to his side, he suddenly would sprout to extra limbs, one of which would catch the knee and grip down on it. His two free hands would aim to pick her up by her sides and lift her up into the air, "This isn't your world Addie, this world was built for those who are strong, you need to become stronger or perish!" He said, and with all of his strength would throw her down hard onto her back to try and end this fight.
Following the throw he would aim to lift his right foot and step onto her abdomen to pin her there, if successful he would lean over and say, "I hope that you reconsider this new lifestyle choice, but part of me is rooting for you to get stronger. Just don't get in over your head with somebody who's willing to kill you. Or worse, somebody who's capable of doing so."

She was definitely out of her league, Matrim was someone she could never beat. Since, he was always growing and getting stronger, she'd never catch up. DAMN! The man had stopped both her attacks and grabbed her! Looking, Addie would see that he had sprouted himself another set of arms. A little shocked and thrown off, she soon found herself being slammed to the ground..AND HARD! Landing with a thud, she'd hurt, her back was sore. The Beast King would tell her things about the world, things she already knew. The world was for the strong, she knew that much. It was part of what drove her, she needed to be on par with those around her. She didn't want to be told things that were already known. Though, it wasn't like she'd give up, Addie was determined.
Just as she had tried to get up, Matrim would put a foot down on her. Stepping down and leaning over to speak with her more. She'd listen,w as he worried for her as a friend? It was confusing, how could be be called friends when they never saw each other? It didn't matter. Looking up at him, the German-Japanese girl would continue to stare, she had the flame of determination in her eyes as she did so.
"Matrim, I'm not going to give up." She brought both arms up and placed them on his shoe, trying to get a good grip on it. "Just wait and see, I'll become strong."
It was futile, but she continue to try and push the young man's foot upwards. Using all the strength she could muster, Addie would try to topple the beast. Trying her best to prove her words to be true, she wasn't giving in. No matter what. Even if she was to pick a few bad fights, even if she was to lose time and time again, Addie wouldn't give up. No matter how much trouble she'd get herself into, she wasn't planning on running any time soon, no matter who the opponent.
"I'm not going to give up Matrim, I'll show you one day."

"Matrim, I'm not going to give up. Just wait and see, I'll become strong." She said, and Matrim noticed she was trying to move his foot, it didn't budge though. Not yet anyway, there was something about the fight that didn't seem right. It felt as though she was holding back, and he couldn't figure out why...... "I'm not going to give up Matrim, I'll show you one day."
"Use your Qi," Matrim said, "Whatever it is, show me, use it to show your true potential. You were at Point Hope, and because of that for some reason I still feel responsible for you but one thing was true there, Qi was the norm, everyone had it there was even a class for it. So use it, bring out your ability and test it out on me!" He said, he would pull his foot off of her and back up, his arms outstretched as they had been before, "Come on, take it to the next step show me where you true strengths lie!"
He wanted her to show him what she could do, he couldn't quite remember for some reason if he had seen her use an ability, but he was sure she could do something. Everyone there did something....

There was a pause as he stared down at her, she could feel his judgmental eyes on her. Was he laughing at her? She was pathetic, after all his foot didn't so much as budge. His words were stern, was he giving her another chance to fight? Addie was confused, all the talk about Qi. It had been long since she could use it.
Moving from Alaska to Long Beach, it was lost somewhere along the way, like a CD during a move. It seemed like it was true, when you move you always lose something important. Something that could come back, or never be seen again. Addie looked away from Matrim for a moment, thinking about it; where did it go? Lifting his heavy foot, Addie would sit up, looking down at her lap. The folds of her shirt because of the way she sat, anything to avoid eye contact.
The beast king before her with his arms open, he was challenging her this time. He wished to see her full potential, the potential that had uprooted and went away. Looking up at him, her serious face had shifted into a disappointed look at she stared at him. "I can't take the next step, or show you an ability. My Qi is gone, it has been for a long time."
Staring up at him, she didn't wish for mercy; she just wanted the humiliation to go away. She wanted to become strong, who fights without the aid of something? Everyone had a qi that helped them....except her.
The more I think about it, the more I can see why I am always being left behind. They not only enhance fighting skills with their own brute strength, but they always seem to have a hidden ace. Even after its revealed, it remains perhaps a key to winning? The people here are strong, they work hard to keep themselves strong and up their skill level. Am I really treading onto ground no fit for me? Once the ground was something I could control, but it seems to have defeated me. Or maybe I did it?
She'd place a hand on the ground and think for a moment, she couldn't feel the surge that would course through her veins. There was no movement beneath her hand, the power had dried up like a well.
"Sorry to disappoint you Matrim, the power is gone." Looking up at Matrim once again, Addie would push up off the ground and stand up. He had just witness the lack there of power.

"I can't take the next step, or show you an ability. My Qi is gone, it has been for a long time. Sorry to disappoint you Matrim, the power is gone." She said and Matrim hung his head slightly, but it made sense. She may have changed. And it was true, his Qi and been altered, it had changed drastically.
"It's not gone," Matrim said, "It's either hidden, or it's changing," He said, "But you don't disappoint me. It's there," He said, "You just have to rediscover it in time. Don't think of Qi as power Addie, it isn't something that helps you or aids you, it's not powerful. You are powerful," He said, "Qi is you, and if you are having trouble accessing it, maybe you've had some changes since coming here, or maybe you've just been out of touch with yourself. But don't think of it as power alright?"
He relaxed. If she wasn't going to fight back any more, he wouldn't either and that'd be the end of it, "But what's with the sudden craving to become stronger than you already are?" He asked, "It's as if you don't believe in yourself and the way you are now... did something happen or is something about to happen and you're doing the cramming for a test routine where you struggle to get ready in time?"

Words of wisdom from the man who always changes, like a chameleon. His words lit some hope within her, perhaps it wasn't gone. Maybe she could be strong... Her bright blue gaze would drop down to the ground, looking at it for a few moments, wishing to once again be able to channel power from it. Those days were gone. Sitting silently, she'd listen to Matrim speak his words. There was no cutting that man off, it would be rude.
A question was asked.
There was a pause for a moment, she'd try to think. Was her reason a good one? Was it worth saying? Amidst her thoughts and confusion, there was a growl from her stomach. Hunger...hunger...hunger.. The first one was quiet, but the one to follow was loud and noticeable. A wild beast within her tummy was hungry.
FEED ME!
FEED ME!!
The people who had witness the pathetic fight were talking, eavesdropping on the conversation; that would not do. Addie moved , she was a little sore from it all. Moving in an odd Fashion, she would tug at his sleeve and motion for him to follow her. If he did she'd walk as fast as she could, if only to escape the stares from those around her. Feeling humiliated, Addie would continue to think on his question and all that he had said. Perhaps he was right? But at the same time, she couldn't help but doubt it.
"How about we chat over...something to eat?"
Sure, it would be nice to talk with a friend and eat, it had been a while since she had been around friends. It would be nice to once again have the company of a friend, perhaps it was too much to ask. "I just..." Nothing came to the girl's mind, there was no way to respond; it was difficult. What could be said? Was her reason a bad one, would he laugh? Would he tell her to stop trying?
Looking up at Matrim, Addie would laugh a little,"It's easier to talk when people don't listen."

"How about we chat over...something to eat? I just... It's easier to talk when people don't listen." She said and he wasn't quite sure exactly where they could go eat, but he'd start leading them toward the cafeteria, maybe they could get something out of the vending machine or raid the kitchen for left overs to steal. He was School Captain after all he should have access to these types of things.
"We'll see what we can scrounge up at the cafeteria," Matrim said, first addressing the food issue, "And I kinda know what you mean but, you should feel comfortable talking to me. You have to remember I've come across pretty crazy people who did pretty crazy things. Even at Point Hope, even here, and even at 42. Like one time when a kid set the lawn on fire for no apparent reason... and then challenged me to chess...."
Whatever happened to that kid....
"In any case don't be afraid to talk to me," He said with a laugh, "And for that matter you should never be afraid of me okay?" He would smile over at her and say, "Are you in the mood for anything in particular?"
Once they reached the cafeteria he'd pass by a few vending machines and check them out. Chips, candy, and even small packaged doughnuts.... when did they get those? .... awesome! Either way he looked from there to the kitchen then back again and said, "I got like.... 8 bucks in ones... your choice do we raid the vending machine for all I'm worth and just munch down on junk or did you actually wanna take a peek in the kitchen and see what we can scrounge up?"

There were times when he seemed almost like a mentor or a older brother, sure they didn't talk a lot. But did friends really need to talk everyday? Perhaps they were, maybe she had been thinking about things the wrong way. They'd head into the building, surely an odd sight, especially since people knew they had just fought. IT MATTERED NOT! Walking to the cafeteria, her blue gaze fell upon the junk food. It was good sounding.....
But the allure of the cafeteria just willed her to explore it.
She wondered if they had good food hidden within it....
"Methinks the cafeteria has some goods a hidden!"
She'd chuckle a little, before heading to the door. Stopping, she'd offer the way to Matrim, "Captains first."
Trying to be funny, even though she was focused on other things. Her qi had disappeared because of a change in her? She had only recently sought out power...Only recently,so it couldn't have been that. She had become more friendly and nice, heck she was even doing community service hours... VOLUNTARY! Qi wouldn't stop because of that, would it?
If Matrim lead the way, she'd follow him, lost in thoughts.
"Thanks Matrim."
Once they were in the safety of the kitchen and the door was closed, Addie was able to feel a little more at ease. Heading over to the fridge, she'd pull it open and take a peek inside. Her blue eyes looking over all that was concealed in the large fridge.
"I felt behind of everyone, I thought if I could catch up to you guys, I'd be useful to you. Maybe if I became strong, you guys would stick around. That if I became strong, I could make a difference, I could help in things that effect the school, to stop those who come to harm those I care about. I just want to help in someway..."
Perhaps it made no sense, it was just that she had so many reasons for wanting to become stronger. Most of which stemming from the longing for people to be around, which was probably just her own awkwardness. Hating people and never wanting to make friends, being a jerk to those who wished to befriend her, to friendly and alone. She hated to be alone, listening to the world's noises as it passed her by. The passing of cars, the wandering of groups, sitting in class and listening to the tales of fun. Or just listening in the halls to the talking of the collective.
She wanted to be apart of something, she wanted to help people, she wanted to be able to stand on her own two legs...When trouble appeared, she wanted to be able to help. Maybe it was all pointless, with so many strong people around, what use was she? Stopping the pointless ramble, she'd continue to search the fridge. The rattle and clanking of jars and dishes could be heard over the distant muttering and the loud ringing of the bell. School was almost out. Just one more class.
Skipping again.
