Springtime, and what a beautiful time, birds and bees in the air, the sounds of joyous kids enjoying their joyous youth, the people out and about, happy and -
*BAM*
*thud*
The sickening sound of a skull slamming into a locker, followed by the disturbing silence that can occur only after someone whose been knocked unconcious hits the floor. lets not all forget this is 259 or anything...
Victor, to his own surprise, was not on either side of that fight, simply a bystander looking in, drinking from a rather thick straw at the boba he had purchased on the way to school. the slurping stopped as he lowered his drink, looking upon the scene that just unfolded. "Nice shot" Victor said, his slightly accented baritone reaching out to the kids gathered around the unmoving body. Victor loved the math hallway, tons of frustrated kids who didn't understand math beating the hell out of each other for no good reason other than to release their incredible frustration. Victor raised his drink, finding the straw with his mouth and taking another sip. "You got a problem kid?" the hotheaded boy who had just slammed the other into the locker suddenly broke through the line of people watching, walking over to Victor, who continued to sit calmly. "None, I was simply stating that was a good shot, do you have a problem?" victor asked, calmly instigating the devices of this furious young redhead, his green eyes piercing into Victor's, though it had no effect. the boys fist reared back for a full blown punch. Victor watched as though in slow motion as the boys fist cocked back first, and then began to launch forward. Victor moved his head slightly to the left, letting the punch fly right by his face and slam into the wall behind him, leaving a small dent in the concrete behind the bench Victor sat upon. everything returned to normal speed as Victor raised his drink to his mouth again and took a long sip, chewing the boba balls a little before swallowing them. "You must watch who you're messing with friend, you might get hurt" Victor said in accented english. "Shut up" the kid said, pulling his fist back and keeping a surprising amount of cool. The kid's foot suddenly raised, stomping down on Victor's toe, Victor winced, biting the inside of his cheek as the boy launched another fist at him. before it could connect though the wall behind victor burst open, a flood of water coming through and smashing the boy in the face, flinging him to the floor with a splash of water, his blood darkening the little puddle around him as it flowed freely from his nose. Victor just shook his head, standing up he said "next time someone warns you about something, consider there are always bigger sharks than you" Victor said, knowing that he should keep that in mind himself, he dusted himself off, his white pea coat had gotten some dirt on it from the concrete that had exploded behind him...
he had been here to meet someone, though he had no guarantee she would come, he still waited patiently ________________________________
*half hour previously*
Victor stood outside of Kevala's locker, a folded note in hand, he slipped it between the grills and walked off easily

Ugh! How much longer did she have to endure this shit?!
Icy hues turning to look toward the clock as she tried to will the time to move faster. Sure, there was only like 10 minutes of class left, but the guy sitting next to her was going to make sure that it was the longest 10 minutes of her life.
His hand slowly inching toward her with a sick little grin on his face. UGH! Men! She was so tired of this shit! Every time she turned around lately she had some pathetic loser hitting on her for no apparent reason other than the fact that she had a nice ass.
Growling softly she would turn her eyes toward him, her hand shooting out and gripping about his collar as she jerked him toward her.
"Haven't you heard? I dont play that game anymore."
With that she would shove him back, watching as the guy fell out of his seat and hit hard upon the floor. Of course she was gaining the attention of the teacher, but honestly, they did not tell her shit anymore.
So, she just rolled her eyes as all eyes in the class turned to her and stood up. Her small hand reaching out and grabbing up her bag. She was so done with this shit today.
She did not wait around for the bell, she simply left class and headed to her locker. Dialing in the combination and jerking the door open..
A note falling out and to the ground.
Instantly her brow raised as she leaned down and picked it up.
A little, slightly nervous, smile spreading across her face. That was the last person she had expected to hear from again to be honest and that just made things that much more complicated.
But she was not about to blow him off.
A glance at her watch and she noted that it was not too far from the desired meeting time.
Slamming the locker shut she shrugged her bag onto her shoulder and took off toward the Calculus AB room.
It did not take her long to get there and when she did, her hand would reach out, pulling open the door and allowing her entrance into the room.
Icy hues scanning about, looking to see if he was there already or if she was just gonna have to take a seat and wait.

Victor heard the final bell ring, delightful, it couldn't be long now... Victor's brilliant blue eyes looked around with a little interest, it wasn't the most important things in the world, but... this girl had always been a little different for him, she was intelligent, and that put her apart from most he had met, he actually enjoyed her company for more than just the fact that she was a girl, but for the fact that she was a person. Victor looked to his right, the blood red of his swastika armband caught him off guard, sometimes he forgot it was there, sometimes he wished it wasn't there... hopefully he wouldn't find out how Victor had chosen to go about this business
There was a swarm of students as everyone left their classes, the buzz of the hive was alive in the chatter and the gossip of the everyday scene. "did you hear about andy?"
"that Welkin guy is sooooo cute" an exhasperated girl
...and I heard he's really good at guitar... and-"
Victor had opened his ears to all conversations, no one even noticing the bloody body that was in the corner... it was so common at this school to see such things, no one was even phased by it anymore... which dissapointed Victor, but also inspired him to make change a reality, unlike some people he knew. and suddenly something caught his blue gaze
victor watched the bobbing hair of his good friend kevala, the dark black that looked so beautiful when it shone in the light, and was accentuated by her icy blue eyes that captured Victor's attention every time he saw them.
Smiling, Victor watched her enter the Calculus room, stretching before he got up and followed her, straightening his pea coat as he grabbed the door before it could close as she walked in.
"You look like you might be looking for someone, maybe I could help you find them?" Victor would say, allowing his accent to be heavy and possibly hide the unmistakable baritone that was his voice. if she turned around Victor would simply smile his lips parting to say "hey there" with his usual big smile before he would come forward for a hug, he was curious to see what happened next.

That deep voice sounding behind her she would smile slightly to herself, turning around to face him as he came forward. Not bothering to really let the moment pass her by she jumped up just enough to wrap her small arms about his neck, hugging him closely.
"Hey you! I have missed you so much."
Nothing but honestly in her words as she finally released him and lowered her little body back down to the floor, stepping back just enough so that her head could tilt back to look up at him. Her icy hues meeting with his own blue eyes.
"I was starting to think I wouldn't see you again."
Her small fingers reaching out and brushing over his chest as eyes broke away from his to look him over. She had almost forgotten how handsome he really was.
Of course she noted the armband, but for now she said nothing, feeling that if it was important then it would come out in time.
Instead she would again turn her gaze up to his, once more flashing that beautiful smile that lit up her entire face and made those eyes shimmer.
"How have you been?"
He looked good, but there was something different about him. Something she could not quite put her finger on. But once again, she supposed that all things would come in time.

There wasn't even a moments pause, and that was exactly how Victor liked it as she bounced up to hug him, he wrapped his arms around her, lifting her in the embrace.
Victor kept her weight up with ease as they hugged, it was good to catch up, talk, exist in another persons company for a little while, Germany had been... well it had been a lot of things, but one thing it had been the most was lonely Victor got so caught up in the hug he didn't really even hear anything until she let go and asked how he had been. though he did make remark that she had been the first person he had met so far who did not comment on his armband as their first greeting, which was an interesting change in pace, though he couldn't imagine that she didn't at least notice it...
Straightening out he took a moment to enjoy her fingers brushing against his chest. his eyes met with hers, two crystal oceans staring into each other, they smiled their dazzling smiles at the same time, Victor chuckled a little before his lips parted again. "I've been really good, Ich brachte mich bei, wie man Deutsches spricht, und... well I learned a lot of stuff, and it certainly gave me some good ideas" Victor explained quickly and sweetly, his hands making little motions as he talked to accentuate everything he said, before his right hand fell onto her shoulder, and he just smiled as his thumb would run up to the base of her neck, lightly brushing it before he let his hand float down her arm and back to his own side. of course he hadn't noticed that he said 'I taught myself how to speak german' in german, but honestly who would notice?
"and how have you been? anything exciting and new? you look stronger than when I last saw you" Victor asked kindly with a little laugh, for no particular reason recounting the first time they met, at that wonderful photography exhibit and suddenly adding "Still practicing photography I'm hoping?" Victor asked, his big smile coming to his face as he wanted to see what she may have taken pictures of lately.
there was so much to catch up on, so much to tell her, so much to be done.

Kevala really paid no mind to the little slip in german. She was just too happy to actually see him again.
"Yes, a bit stronger...been training a lot with Gabriel."
She nodded, her mind just racing with thoughts, ones she wanted and ones she did not. Picking through the mess to find that which she wished to let forth.
"Things have been.....about as good as could be expected I suppose."
She shrugged, unsure what else to say. Not like she wanted to turn around and say, 'Oh my life has been shit.' Kind of a mood killer. Or at least in her opinion.
Her mind scrambled for the right words, finally settling upon the answer to his next question.
"Yes, still working on my photography. I actually own my own studio now."
She smiled. Nodding softly as she stuffed her small hands into her pockets of her hip hugger jeans. Her tank top stopping just above her midsection as her long black hair fell in soft waves about her slender form.
Are you going to tell him? You need to tell him. You never know what things might lead to and you so need to get this off your chest.
No, just wait. It is not like he is going anywhere any time soon. Just keep your mouth shut and play catch up. Worry about it later.
Kev ignored the voices in her mind and would smile once more toward him.
"I am just glad you are back."

Victor smiled, taking a slow blink as he took the thought of someone owning their own studio "Wow, I'm proud of you, that's really cool that you have your own studio" Victor said, his arms crossing and one hand finding its way to his chin to scratch at it as he continued to smile devilishly like a child. "You know, if you ever need any models... you should definitely give me a call" Victor said, watching as she stuffed her hands into her pockets, and though Victor noticed the slight change in body language he wasn't about to allow that to deter this joyous occasion.
"I'm glad to hear you're doing mostly okay though, I remember things weren't too good when I last saw you" Victor said "And I'm definitely glad to be back, its good to see you again"
"How is gabriel anyway? still up to his old nonsense I assume?" Victor said jokingly with a smile. his mind suddenly flashing back to his 'white knights' meeting, when 'sky' had infiltrated and subsequently lost of his own volition the control of the black knights... though Victor had fuzzy memory of what happened after that he remembered who kevala had sided with, something he wouldn't soon forget
"One day he'll grow up a little hopefully... or grow down as the case may be" Victor said, still comical and full of a good mood, little did she know...
a beat, Victor took the moment to admire kevala's attire, her slender form, her beautiful hair, her romantically chilling eyes, just taking in the whole scene. "You're looking great one way or another, are you seeing anybody right now?" Victor asked, more out of curiosity than desire, this of course was what catching up was for right? to share gossip and all that?

She remembered well the meeting and who she had sided with. But she also remembered why she had done such a thing. She had done what she must at the time to protect her children.
The thought stirring something else in her mind and making her look away as she shook her head.
"Gabriel is Gabriel. He will never change."
She sighed softly, biting her lower lip as she heard his last question. Another one she was unsure of the right answer to. Finally her mind would come to a conclusion as she spoke up softly, turning about to look out the window of the room.
A bad habit she had taken to since he had been gone. Something that saved her from the mental pain she suffered when she thought about things too much.
"I am not seeing anyone."
Pain filled her tone as she spoke of this, even though she attempted to hide it. It was indeed a sensitive topic with her, especially given the things that were going on in her life at the time. But she did not wish to burden him with such things. Instead she shook her head, forcing that smile upon her lips once more before turning back to face him.
"What about you? Any interesting women in your life?"
It was of course a casual question. One to simply continue this game of catching up.

Victor just nodded and chuckled, his huge shoulders bobbing with every little laugh as she mentioned that gabriel will never change... which was probably true, Victor pictured gabriel at a business meeting, of course being the C.E.O and just beating the hell out of another C.E.O simply because the man would not make a deal with gabriel's business... such a curious thing strength is... when one has so much strength and nothing to really do with it.
her body language changed the moment after he asked the last question and his own eyebrows lowered and parted in sympathy as she bit her lower lip, turning away from him and walking for a moment to look out of a window in the room. the silence had victor looking at the little pieces of dust floating in the air, illuminated by the light streaming through the windowsill, Victor silently followed her past the rows of desks so that he was behind her as she answered. he nodded, closing his eyes for a moment as his hands went behind his back to fall in place at the small of his back, a mock military stance, as if honoring someone... or something. he opened his eyes to meet hers as she asked him if there was anyone interesting in his life. Victor smiled a short smile "You know... the culture barrier between america and germany actually left me pretty lonely to be honest, and I didn't have a girl before I left, and if I did I wouldn't have expected her to wait 3 months while her boyfriend vas in germany" Victor explained easily. some of it wasn't true, the cultural barrier would have made no difference except that Victor had been very preoccupied with other things while in germany, but still it was a suitable explanation, though his voice carried none of the sadness of her answer, he had always been a man of solitude deep down, all he wanted was friends, never anything closer than that. Victor still reached out for her hand, and if she allowed it he would take her hand in his and simply hold it, gazing into her eyes. "I wouldn't worry if I was you though... its just a matter of time till you find someone who makes you happy" Victor said easily, an honest smile on his closed lips, a knowing look in his eyes as he gazed into her icy hues
in the back of his mind he enjoyed the thought of the picture they must have created there, in the sunlight of the window in the empty classroom, just standing together

She felt his hand reaching for her own small one, allowing her fingers to curl about his as she looked up at him. That forced smile in place as always. Never wishing to give off just what she was feeling inside. She knew how he was, knew he was always the free spirited one. Which made her doubt that much more unbearable to come to grips with. Another cast of her eyes away from him as she shook her head.
"No, I do not think there will be any one for me. But that is fine. I have grown used to the emptiness being alone creates."
She shrugged, eyes turning back to his as she brushed her tongue over her lips. She had shut herself off emotionally from most people. Never letting them get close, not wanting to feel the same kind of pain she had in her heart over Gabriel.
"But I am sure had you had a girl she would have waited. You are an amazing guy. Any girl would be lucky to have you."
This time her smile was more honest and full of light and happiness. She had always thought him quite the guy, just had never really had the chance to say such. But then, doing so now just seemed fitting. Just a friendly observation of course. Nothing more, nothing less. She could never allow it to be such. At least not in her mind.

Victor watched her, he wanted to feel bad for her but in the end he found it difficult, he had seen so many girls say the exact same words, so many girls thinking they wheren't good enough for one reason or another, he just shook his head as she shook hers and looked back at her at the same time, curiously listening as she mentioned the imaginary girl that would have waited three months for him... didn't seem likely... must be that love thing, maybe if you love someone you're willing to wait that long for them, Victor wouldn't wait three months for a girl... probably... or would he? and lucky? Victor never thought of it like that, why would a girl be lucky to have him? so she could sleep with him more often maybe? its not like he wasn't just another poor high schooler with a likable personality... like everyone else at this school...
suddenly gears began to click, Victor did not think about love often, but when it was brought up he gave it a deeper consideration, the feeling that a billion songs have been written about, Victor could fake it well enough to right meaningful songs about it, but he'd never actually experienced it... hell he'd never even had a REAL girlfriend (he had girls that he had called his girlfriend just long enough to sleep with of course) but he had never asked anyone he cared about to go out with him, he was always too worried about what that would to their friendship.
Victor squinted for a moment comically, this whole time he had been thinking he probably would have had an interestingly far off gaze that spoke nothing but silent thought process.
"Any girl huh?" Victor said with a little smirk, pulling her closer suddenly, and if she fell he would catch her in a hug, or if she just came to him it would result in the same thing.
"what are you doing this friday?" Victor asked suddenly, completely on a whim, though also completely seriously
of course the back of his mind was screaming at him, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? YOU HAVE A MISSION, AND YOU'VE NEVER WANTED A GIRLFRIEND, AND YOU'VE ALREADY SLEPT WITH HER, AT LEAST PICK SOMEONE NEW OR SOMETHING!"
of course Victor had shut off the ear that listens to the voice in his head about the same time that he dropped the little letter into kevala's locker. what could it hurt right? as long as he didn't have to take care of the kids...
he is only 17 after all...

"Yes silly. Any girl."
That smile still in place as she felt herself tugged forward and into his arms once more. A warm hug which she willingly returned. Her arms wrapping about his waist as she let her head fall back just enough to look at him.
Then he asked her out.....er....he did ask her out right?
A bit of shock filling her eyes as she actually found herself at a loss for words. It was not that he was asking her out, to that she would have said yes in a heartbeat...but it was the secret she kept from him that instantly filled her mind.
"I...I..."
She drew in a deep breath. He had no clue what she was keeping secret and she had no intention of telling him right now. It was something saved for much much later.
Or at least that is what she wanted it to be.
For now she would recover and smile up at him, those icy hues shimmering with the light cast through the window.
"Absolutely nothing. Unless of course you are offering."
A clear yes in her book. She would honestly love to go out with him. It was just one date right? Nothing serious...and so long as she kept her big mouth and doubts to herself, all would be fine.

Victor held her as he heard her stumble for a moment, the I's which in his mind was slightly humorous, for a split second he thought she was thinking about saying no, which really wouldn't have been a big deal, Victor was actually kind of expecting a no, simply because of how random and uncalled for it was, as she took a deep breath and her eyes met his, she smiled now, giving an answer that was a practical yes and Victor smiled as well. "Vell..." he paused for a moment, looking at her with his smile "I suppose I am offering" he finished with a little laugh, a content one, softer than his usual boisterous laugh, speaking a different side of Victor, if only for a moment. 'Flattery will get you everywhere' Victor thought for a moment, knowing full well if she hadn't made the 'any girl' comment he probably wouldn't have just done that, but he had, so what did it matter?
"So... lets say I pick you up around... 7-ish? I think I can think up something fun for us to do by friday, so it'll be a surprise" he said with a little chuckle. it was tuesday today right? yeah, awesome... he'd just have to work on that. of course this little 'catching up' conversation had now gone a completely different direction than he originally thought it would... things where going to get interesting.
of course, Victor only knew how to make a first date that was good enough to get laid and then never talk again... he wasn't gonna do that to kevala, he wanted it to be something memorable, something that she'd really appreciate, something that would make her feel worth something.
"Do you remember the first time we kissed?" he suddenly asked, and even he didn't know what had brought that up

Kev smiled still as he mentioned a time. A little nod given as she spoke up softly.
"That sounds great...Umm....seeing as how my house burned down..you would have to pick me up at Gabe's....If that is okay? If not I could meet you somewhere."
She was throwing that out there because she wanted it to be perfectly clear that her and Gabriel were NOT a couple. Despite what the rest of the world might have thought. Despite what she might feel.
But then he threw a question at her that came right out of left field and hit home on every doubt in her mind and every worry she held.
Knowing instantly that it showed in her eyes but she fought it back only continuing to smile and nod softly.
"Of course I do. How could I forget? You were the first guy I ........kissed....when I moved here...."
She blushed just slightly and turned her head away as she spoke out the next words softly.
"The first one to ever speak of my eyes in such a manner......and the only one since..."
It was true..to some it may not have seemed like a big deal but to her it was. It was the first time somebody had seen past the body and looked at something so small about her....it had made her feel...amazing for the first time in her life. She could never forget that.

"That sounds great...Umm....seeing as how my house burned down..you would have to pick me up at Gabe's....If that is okay? If not I could meet you somewhere."
curious... when did her house burn down... victor supposed that bit got a little lost when he had asked "how have you been?
"Gabriel's would be fine, I don't mind a little drive" he said easily, the extra bit was lost on Victor who had been around, and had no idea anyone thought kevala and him where a couple. gabriel didn't really seem like her type, but really, how could Victor know?
and then came the change in her eyes after he asked his next question, it was visible that the oceans where moving, though Victor couldn't tell the emotion it was saying to him, he had meant it in the best way possible. he listened to her, nodding softly, knowing that right now, a comfortable silence might be the best answer, he would lean forward and kiss her on her forehead
"Try not to worry so much, you've got a date with the guy 'any girl' wants" Victor said jokingly, mocking himself more than her. he would smile "And your eyes are as captivating as ever... honestly I could look into them and never look away" Victor said in a slightly hushed tone... not seductive like his usual hushed voice, but simply caring, honesty was becoming more fleeting with Victor lately, but that was a moment where it was pure, his brilliant eyes shone in the light of the window, mirrored by hers. "We're gonna have a great time... I'm really glad you decided to come see me here today" Victor said an honest smile on his lips
