Continuing from the September Event!
{Takes place between Queen of Blades and A Time to Heal
The sun was setting, and it was time to head off to his new "Home". Pondering over his new roommate, was for another time. Sleep took precedence over all, when it was time to sleep.
"Well, I suppose it is getting dark, Adam, shall we return to our humble abode?
They walked for a while, the whole time Maxwell speaking to "Adam", trying to help him grasp the concepts and meanings of many objects, buildings, clothing articles, ethnicities, and street signs. The whole while "Adam" listened attentively. This man could help him understand society. He understood "Adam", to a degree. There were not many misinterpretations to be had. The man called himself Maxwell, "Adam" took note of this. The first name he got from a man in society.
Yet there was something about this man that "Adam" couldn't quite understand. He felt detached, or perhaps he knew "Adam" too well. Either way "Adam" believed he could trust him, and was exited to have his first human... Friend. He could use a friend. Friends could help him if he comes across trouble. Friends made each other stronger, granted them courage. Yes, he supposed that he could learn to be used to having friends.
Things were going well. "Adam"s comprehensive capabilities were far greater than he believed. The whole peer to peer relationship "Adam" believed that they had made it much easier than the researcher to subject point of view originally utilized. "Adam" was far too... Hesitant when he knew that people would be writing down every move he made, every thought he thought, every breath he took. This tactic was far more loose, and he was able to understand "Adam" more as a person, and not a subject. He seemed to be getting used to society to a degree a lot better than originally thought possible. At this point, the researchers believed he would have pulled something, have a breakdown of some sort. Perhaps letting him out into society was the best idea after all.
They arrived in front of a rather nice sized two story house, that was placed very close to the school. So "Adam" wouldn't get lost on the way to the school grounds, this was much easier. Also so the researchers watching over the house wouldn't have to go very far to watch over the school. However, they were scattered about, none in the house, "Adam" would feel completely alone. However, they had noted that "Adam" has never in fact, entered the building, preferring to sleep in a tree that grew in front of the house.
Well, that was going to change from here on out. Maxwell thought to himself. "Adam" needed to get used to society as soon as possible. Once he is completely submerged into society, can the true results appear, and as such, Maxwell made sure to open the door, and wait for "Adam" to enter of his own accord before entering the house itself.
The house was rather spacious. White walls, white carpet. No furniture. This wouldn't do at all. Maxwell shook his head. Was this house ever lived in? He couldn't handle looking at it. It reminded him of himself. Empty... Maxwell looked away, and backed slowly out of the house. "Adam" looked at him curiously.
"No, this just won't do, my friend. We need more things in this house to make it a home. We could also use... A feminine touch..."
Well, he could always get... Them... He looked back at "Adam", and gave him a solemn glance. After just meeting him today, he would have to already leave? Well, it was for the better.
"Well, I suppose I can fix that. I am sorry for just leaving you like this, but I'm going to go get us some more friends, you understand? It shouldn't take long, I shall return, and when I do return this house will feel more like a home, I swear it."
And with that, Maxwell left into the night. "Adam" did not understand why he had to leave, but was very much excited by the fact that he would have people living with him. He could have his very own family. He wandered out of the house, and took up his normal sleeping place on the tree in front of the building.
End of this Beginning.

At the home
The past couple of days, "Adam" had been adventuring in his home. It had been... changed... after the first day there with Maxwell. It had... Furnishings... in it he supposed. It seemed a little less like an asylum cell and more like what he viewed the average american home to look like. fabricated wear and tear here and there, not too much but enough to make you not feel like you have to be careful with every step you make to not ruin the house. "Adam" had his very own room, well there was another bed in there, which he assumed was for Maxwell. There was also a master bedroom, which he didn't like because it was too spacious, and a very pink room. If not for the spaciousness of the master room, "Adam" would have liked it. It had many books, a study, and a water fall shower. It was too big, however, and made him feel small every time he entered it. It was too orderly, too civilized. His room, however, you could say looked slightly like a jungle, or the average teenager's room. That was nice.
As "Adam" explored the attic of the house, he heard the door open. His ears perked up. Is this an enemy, or his friend?
"So, where is this monkey?"
"Adam" backed up into the corner of the attic. That voice didn't sound familiar. Sounded rash, aggressive, yet soft in its own way.
"Oh, he is somewhere here, I know it. Adam? Are you here? I have brought a new friend, as I promised, and the house looks much better suited to our needs."
"Adam" jumped out of the attic. He liked meeting new friends. He had just become more comfortable with the human language as well, and was beginning to speak more to a degree. He still listened more than he spake, and often pretended not to understand if he wanted someone to explain in more detail. He still liked to move on all fours, however, and would reach the door as such.
"He-Hello?"
Still shy, "Adam" would speak softly, however, his voice had a low rumble to it, and would travel large distances even if he whispered. As he turned the corner, he saw Maxwell, with two other people. A rather strong looking young boy who was in front of - more like protecting - a younger girl who looked at "Adam" with interest.
I see potential in this situation. Given the information she had gathered from Maxwell, and the guards in New York, this lad showed great potential. He also was very easily influenced. She could turn him into a man not unlike her brother. A slave who unknowingly worked for the master puppeteer.
Ah there he is. Finally they had made it to California. Things were falling into place. Now to take a step back and see how things go.
"So, this is going to be our new home for now? Not too shabby. And you are to be the kid I babysit from now on? I'm Kang. As long as you're with me, theres nothing to worry 'bout. That is, as long as Maxwell keeps up with his end of the deal.
"Adam" had no clue as to what deal was going on with Maxwell and this boy named Kang, but he was willing to have all the comrades he could get. Having someone watch his back in the school wasn't a bad trade off either. The greetings and introductions continued for a while. "Adam" discovered that Kang was only 15, and already ridiculously strong. He could possibly help "Adam" out learning fighting and all, and it seemed that although Maxwell was there, Kang was the only person in his age group living in the house. The girl, named Allison, was quiet and shy. Seemingly the damsel in distress type deal. "Adam" learned of their brutal backgrounds, and felt sorry for them. He was glad that they could be saved as such, and even more happy that he will have more friends living with him.
The day went on, and it eventually turned to night. Everyone went to their respective rooms. Kang and "Adam" went to their room, Maxwell took residence in the Master bedroom, and Allison went to sleep in the very pink room.
The first time sleeping on a normal bed, "Adam" had trouble going to sleep. he moved about for a long time, and at one point, Kang got up, and opened the door. "Adam" got up.
"Where--[/b]
Kang rushed over to "Adam" and made a shushing motion.
"Now, buddy, you need to keep quiet. I'm going to be out most nights and mornings while you are safe at the house. I need to know the fighting styles of people here, while getting stronger. The only way to do that is to spar with people. Now, you're going to let me do that, or I can't keep my sister safe. Got it?"
"Adam" nodded his head. Kang turned red a little of embarrassment.
"I'm sorry about this, it's just that I... I Didn't want anyone worrying about me. Okay?
With that, Kang left off into the night. "Adam" felt that was the first time Kang opened up to him fully. Those words seeped meaning, and none of it was lost on him. After that, "Adam" slept peacefully knowing that he was in good company.
