Haggard and hobbled, Kiyoshi made his way through a damage park to a single standing bench. He slumped down on it, pained from his journey over sea and on foot to avoid drawing too much attention. The park was in neutral territory in the sense that no one had claimed it. A difficult given the positioning of the Crows was getting past Barker, the naval route was very roundabout and took time… and bumpy, which wasn’t good given Kiyoshi’s condition. He was still covered in bandages from the battle as he waited.
Around the park on this night, five Crows stood on guard to protect their leader from attack, patrolling for any hostiles. But why here? Kiyoshi had caught wind of an old acquaintance being back in town and had snuck word to her to meet him here to discuss the state of things. He couldn’t be certain if it did but he waited regardless, there were other meetings to get to eventually… even if Jayr didn’t show.

Old Acquaintance Jayr would be quiet tonight, she didn't want to risk being caught and stopped. Standing on the outer edge of the military base she'd kiss the edges of her note leaving it beside her parents' bed and slip between the switching of the guards. Her hurried feet would click with each step of her heels only to be quieted and slowed upon noticing it. Flourishing to the trees she'd accelerate remembering her old speed quickly and taking herself quietly to that which had been now claimed as "Crows" territory.
In the dark of the park she'd grin making her way stealthily past the guards and quickly moving into a position next to Kiyoshi. Grinning she'd slowly sneak up behind him moving her arms slowly forward.
"KI-YOSHI!"
*Glomp*
She'd slip her arms under his into a large bear hugging glomp not understanding that he'd ought to be in some measure of pain considering his injuries.

Kiyoshi let out a small yelp as Jayr hugged him, not because he was startled or scare but because that actually hurt. It wasn't easy to do anything with several holes in your body that weren't supposed to be there. With a sharp inhalation of breath the Crows leader gritted his teeth and vigorously tapped Jayr's arm with the hand on his uninjured arm.
"Not that I don't enjoy a display of affection from a beautiful woman, but could you let go, Jayr? That really hurts."
When she let go, he'd turn around and she'd be able to better see the amount of damage done to him during the school's fall by the amounts of bandages that adorned his torso, he had a loose jacket on but no shirt due to the pain trying to put one on caused. He'd smirk lightly upon seeing her.
"Nice to see you so peppy considering that state of things."

Long Time "Not that I don't enjoy a display of affection from a beautiful woman, but could you let go, Jayr? That really hurts."
Jayr would pause for but a moment, her grip loosening as she did so coming to take note of the bands around his chest and forming a slight grimace on her features.
"Nice to see you so peppy considering that state of things."
She'd step back, her grimace turning to a forced smile as she remembered back on everything that was going on in this day and age.
"Gotta laugh to keep from crying."
She'd tilt her head to the side rather innocently like a puppy looking at him inquisitively.

Well that was a depressing manner of response. Kiyoshi chuckled lightly while scratching his head in thought for a moment, he'd never really thought about laughing or crying... just fixing. He'd reach out and place his right hand on her head to scramble her hair about in a playful manner. Trying to perk her back up in case his condition and comment had dampened her mood somewhat.
"Should I tell you a joke then?... Though that probably would make you cry with how bad it was..."
He mocked dwelling on it in thought, though he wasn't very good at jokes in truth. Oddly enough, he had thought he would've had some grudge against her for how things turned out at the school, that her and her SLF had been able to destroy the system in essence. However Kiyoshi struggled with keeping grudges... against woman. A man he could hold grudge against for eternity, a woman just had to smile most times and he'd forgive her. Call it chivalry.

"Better not then..."
Jayr would giggle lightly dropping her head down for a moment to have a lock of her hair drop over her brow, an asserting hand would travel up towards the brow and push the strand of hair away behind her ear with a grin.
"What happened if you don't mind me asking?"
She smiled sheepishly looking up and down his wounds. She didn't hold any grudges against him choosing his side, if anything she only respected him more for holding his ground. It showed great strength to stand up against friends for a cause. Though the whole ordeal with the school was too far in the past to be considering still.

That's better. Kiyoshi smirked again at her retort but that did eventually lead them to the awkward elephant that was his wounds. He sighed slightly, anxious for the day when these wounds would be all healed and no longer a burden. Then he could get his revenge.
"Well... short story is I got shot. Long story is... longer?"
He thought about it, before shrugging and explaining what had happened.
"I went to try to stop Barker and his ilk from destroying the school when they first attacked. Ended up running into an old... classmate from New York, Patrick O'Connor. Apparently he'd been living here under the alias Daniel Heart and had become one of Barker's top henchmen. I confronted him, he shot me three times, and when the missiles hit and blew the school to bits, I was lucky enough to fall into the sewer."

Something like Betrayal Jayr frowned at the mention of a familiar name. Daniel Heart, yes she knew the fellow. He was the troubled sort of person who only seemed to believe in the ways of chaos, anarchy, and violence. It was sad to see that he'd come such a far road only to give into those very basic emotions. Anger, Hatred, Oblivion.
"So what do you plan to do?"
Jayr would say turning around and letting her hands bind between each other rolling up her back and into her hair cupping at the backside of her skull. She'd take long kicking strides with her feet carrying herself over to the nearest bench and sitting upright her torso pushed out a fair share further, while her ankles curled under the seat leaving enough room on the bench should Kiyoshi find sitting better off.
She'd needed a way to express these emotions bubbling up. Anger or sadness, she could not describe the pain she knew when seeing the casualties list in the military camp.

Kiyoshi followed Jayr over to the bench, taking a seat beside her with a rather loud groan. The shot that had gone through his lower back and his abdomen didn't like the process of getting up or done, lucky it was fine once he choose a position, only transitions were a problem. Recollected himself from the moment of pain to answer.
"What do I plan to do... fix it."
Said in his usual arrogant way that made it seem like he thought it was going to be as easy as saying it. He tilted his back to gaze up at the night sky and stars, which were more easily visible with the damage done to the city.
"First I have to steady my power base, my gang, and try to expand my numbers. Then... take the city back bit by bit."
Slowly Kiyoshi's head rolls to the side to give him an angle to glance at her.
"What about you?"

What to Do "What about you?"
Jayr would scrunch up her lips in a semi-pursed, semi-thoughtful expression, her eyes rolling up back towards the top of her head before rolling entirely around and settling forward on Kiyoshi. She really hadn't thought things through. Her entire plan with the SLF had relied upon the optimistic view that things were going to get better, that they were going to be alright and she could give everyone a voice. That all seemed so very perverted now with the ruins burning up all around them. She'd empthize with a shrug.
"Truth be told, I'm still in a bit of shock."

Kiyoshi eyed Jayr for a moment after she answered, wondering how deep that shock went and what would happen when it wore off. However after a brief moment, he nodded in understanding.
"Yeah... the future is what you thought it would be, is it?"
A short snort of disbelief escaped him right after he finished the question.
"Isn't what any of us thought it would be..."
He added almost immediately afterward. True enough, none of them really saw this coming and, from his experience, there was nothing any of them could have done to stop it in the first place. It was a rather depressing fact, one that he did not dwell on long. If he was going to achieve his new goals, he needed to bury that piece of the past and focus on moving forward.

Revelations "Uhhmmmm..."
She'd sigh in response letting her elbows rest on her knees and her hands form a plateau for her chin to rest on. Her cerulean hues would gleam off into the dusk chasing the night stars as they lurked in the distance.
"We're friends right Kiyoshi?"
The thought of the question hadn't ever really occurred to her until now. She'd always proclaimed that she was likely to have a great many friends before any stood opposed to her as enemy so for the thought to come into question left her somewhat perplexed. Still her eyes hastened to the horizon waiting for his response.

Kiyoshi furrowed his brow at the question, having not expected it in the slightest regard. When he thought about how many people he'd considered himself close to, "friends", in New York... the list was very, very short. He'd really kept to himself, by choice and by habit, during his time there. Here things were different, he was clean but there was a problem. What did he consider a friend? He'd never thought about it, rarely ever used the word.
"Yeah... we are."
The answer came as he decided on it. It came down to what she meant. He couldn't deny he cared her, though not nearly as much as Tsubame, and they hadn't engaged in physical pursuits (yet), so it wasn't that. Pretty much a process of elimination. Either way, he watched her stare off in curiosity about why she was asking.

Alright.... "Good..."
Her trance like state would return to one of bliss, her cheeks turning upwards into a smile and attention returning to him eyes scrunched together admirably. She'd never wanted to fight Kiyoshi, and she was glad that they could be friends in a time like this even if their views differed back then that didn't mean they had to now. Though she didn't figure he'd ever let his pride ask the question asking for help.
"...Cuz I'd hate to kick your butt."
She'd stick her tongue out playfully still squinting her eyes before turning away and giggling lightly.

Kiyoshi raised a brow at the reaction to his answer. To say he was surprised by it would be a bit much but isn't actually too far off, especially since it was not something he'd ever expect. After all, this was far from the normal of any conversation he'd had, ever. He'd switch to a laugh when Jayr said she'd kick his butt, a smirk forming on his face in the usual arrogant manner shortly afterward.
"You beat me? Yeah, you might have a chance... now."
He joked back, making light of his injuries in a way. It was almost like being back before all this happened. Kiyoshi put his arm around her shoulders, still smirking as he usually did.
"You know, I'd let you win anyway... just so you wouldn't feel bad."
Another joke, part of the reason he'd been so far behind her movements with the SLF is because he knew he couldn't take her head on back... not that he wouldn't try, just wanted to win.
