Rumors had been afoot regarding the acts of vandalism that plagued the school a few nights prior. Apparently, Delilah had been the only eye-witness. Without knowing the man's name, or what he looked like, Rem had nothing to go on other than the man's personality, which he gathered from what his girlfriend had told him. So, there was nothing he could do but stakeout the school every night until he found the weirdo. Rem sat restlessly on the edge of the fountain in the school's main courtyard. It was nighttime, the only light in the area coming from several high flood lights, the moon being blocked from view by several skyscrapers that dotted the cityscape. He fumbled with his cellphone, flipping it open and shut at random intervals in order to pass the time. Should this man take the bait, things would definately get iffy for him. If Delilah couldn't take him on, then what made him think he could? Sure there was more to this diminutive Japanese teen that met the eye, but still. He may very well be walking into his own casket. Sighing, he continued to rythmically open and shut his cell phone. Still, he couldn't let that man get away with what he had done to Delilah. It was an honor thing...

Two nights had passed since his initial stakeout and still nothing. There was nothing or no one out of the ordinary coming near to the school, save for a few drunkards, a few homeless people and on several occasions, Rem had caught one couple or the other making out or even going at it like dogs in heat. But, still, no weirdo. Rem sighed, sitting at his usual waiting spot, hearing, but not listening to the cascading water that poured throughout the fountain. "C'mon..."

Valekin had spotted him two nights ago. Apparently, the hunter had become the hunted. So careless, sitting in the light, in plain sight, right next to the fountain. What an amateur. There wasn't much to really do but lay a trap for him, interrogate him brutally, and quite possibly lock him in the sewers for days or weeks on end. Ooooh, that'd be quite fun wouldn't it? A little bit of a survival test.
It was simple really, there were trees on the campus, and the trap had been laid. Not a pit with spikes, or a flamethrower in a wall or some crazy shit like that. Just, something simple and easily adjusted. Through out the yard, twigs and acorns among other things had been set. To make noise when stepped on. Now, Valekin was the type to actually walk through the woods and not make a noise. But, the object was the opposite.
He wore the tell tale costume, with the hat, the feathers, the coat, the pants, and this time, his metal plated serbian combat boots. The trap had been set, the time was right. He walked just into the light, just into view of the boy. He was sure the kid could see him now, and if he didn't fall back into the fountain surprised or scared, then he'd clap for him. Otherwise, there'd be the curling of the claw, to lure the fellow after him.
"Come come, little hunter, let's play cat and mouse."
The voice scrambling made the same artificial noises to go with his own voice. Creating the voice of some sort of enigmatic creature. A shadow monster of sorts.

Rem had become extremely desensitized by the waiting that the appearance of this man seemed almost anti-climatic. Strangely dressed, strange sounding, freakishly tall (for a guy who's 4'11'' anyways) but still anti-climatic. He snapped his cell-phone shut for the last time and rose to his feet, his eyes settled carefully on the man before him, who stood on the border of the light and darkness, adding somewhat to his menacing appearance. However, he couldn't be too certain this was actually the guy who'd attacked Delilah...then again, which other weirdo would be hanging around school at this ungodly hour, beside himself of course. Still, he wasn't stupid. Should this be the guy, he wasn't intent on becoming...well...becoming any less alive than he was at the moment. He just wanted to test this guy, see what the true difference between them was in order to plan out how best to bridge the monumental gap between them. That meant that a lot of hurt was going to be sent his way before the night was over. He had already steeled himself, firmed his resolve. He was Japanese, honor was kind of a big deal to him. He kept his eyes plastered on the man in front of him as he dug his hands into his jeans pockets and advanced to meet him. "I hope you didn't think I'd be scared by cheap parlor tricks like that. I've seen and heard scarier things in anime..." He paused, his figure directly under the glare of the floodlights above, which would most likely give the creepy guy nothing more than a silhouette to stare at. He stood almost half the distance between the water fountain and the man. "And unfortunately I don't intend on being your punching bag either. I just want to know if you were the one who attacked a girl here earlier this week." His eyes narrowed slightly. "Dark hair, with red streaks through it?"

"Mmmm yes. I left a rather nasty set of bruises around her throat. She chose to help me vandalize the second floor over getting her trachea crushed, and being thrown out the window. She has good decision making skills, yes?"
He looked to his wrist, which had no watch, as if to check the time. The psycho then looked up to the sky, and had seemingly found what time it was that night. He spun on his heel then, and started walking into the darkness, as if their conversation was a daily thing. Minor chatter between acquaintances. Nothing more.
"If you aren't going to follow me, then I must be going, as I have obligations. Like people to skin, and flesh to rend."
He then disappeared further into the darkness, stepping on the twigs and such, making noise as he walked. Thus making it easier for him to be followed. If the boy took the bait, he'd be in a world of hurt, and terror. The kid would have no idea what he was getting into.

A vein etched across the young man's forehead as he heard the man vividly describe what he'd done. He clenched his fists and launched himself after the man, into the shroud of darkness that seemingly stole the light from the area. He was always conscious about his movements and this time was no exception. Each step, however minute and trivial, was carefully planned and deliberate. Strong, he was not. Inexperienced? That was a totally different game. Being the diminutive creature he was, his footfall hardly made any sound at all.

But the boy's footfalls did make noise. Hardly making sound, and not making sound were two different things. As Valekin heard the first footfall, he began running, which was more of a jog to him, but would force the boy into running full speed if he wished to keep up with him. The disguised man would lead him along, into a small clearing still on school campus. This was where the real horror would begin. Through the darkness, and into the clearing.
They boy'd most likely lose him. As what was to be seen, was much more distracting. Between three pairs of sticks, were stretched skins. Claws had torn through them like they were paper, the insides of them were still dripping blood.
A full skeleton lay in the middle of the clearing, with a pile of skulls settled around it. All previously human, and living. Maggots filled their eye sockets.
Those weren't there earlier that night.
The timing couldn't have been more perfect, just as Valekin would time the boy entering the clearing, the moon lit it up. Previously he had planned the kid on tripping over the unseen skeleton, the pile of skulls, or perhaps some stretched skin. But, this would serve Valekin's devices.

The wind bashed against his face as he ran at full speed, still carefully mapping his footwork. This situation had all the makings of a trap, quite possibly an ambush. He didn't really care, frankly, he doubted there'd be anyone just as freaky as the guy he was only just pursuing. As he entered the clearing, however, he skidded to a complete stop, staring wide-eyed, more in surprise than actual fright at the scene his gaze fell upon. His gut instintively churned as he turned his head away and sank to his hands and knees, throwing up three days' worth of lunch...as well as a few kit kat bars. Holding his stomach with one hand and covering his nose, keeping the unearthly stench from reaching his nostrils, he once again rose to his feet, forcing himself to stare at the scene. "W-what ...what the hell...is this!?" He had no idea what was going on, and his survival instinct roared for his body to turn around and run the other way and forget what he had seen (if such a thing were possible), but instead, stood there, eyes fixated on the display of death and mutilation that lay before him. For some strange reason, he had totally overcome his initial reaction and it was being replaced by a strange curiousity. "That guy couldn't have had time to do all this just now when I was chasing him...so...that must mean he did this before...meaning..." Rem smacked himself in the head for not realising it earlier. "This guy's been...watching me all these nights? He's been staking ME out?" The first words the man spoke to him in their earlier encounter came to mind. "So, I'm this so-called 'hunted' huh?" Anger pervaded his every fibre and he shook his fists with a distinct rage. "This guy is so gonna get it!" Any reasonable person would have fled immediately after seeing what Rem had just witnessed. However, it was now becoming clear that Rem was not quite as reasonable as the average person. For someone who was so hardcore into anime and had seen some things, mostly involving tentacles and bodily orafaces (but that's another story altogether), strange things, this could only come as a challenge, a dare, even. "Screw you bastard...I'm not scared of you!!" With that, he plunged further into the darkness, hoping to catch up with this man...his interest and curiousity growing with each step.

Their arena would be a different clear area. Just a short distance from the defiled ground. Valekin was waiting there for him, waiting there standing still. Looking at his nails as if he were bored out of his mind. He knew the kid was coming, and mentally applauded him for not being afraid, but the nightmare wouldn't end there. The monster was going to knock the boy out on the surface, and lock him beneath it. For an extended period of time. Oh how horrible that would be.
"Come, let's see what you're made of."
The monster said, beckoning him with a hand. He stood there idle then. When one stands still, time nearly stands still. That is, if you are truly still.

It took Rem only two minutes to arrive at Valekin's location, skidding to a halt almost five meters away from the man. There was something about this man's apathetic demeanor that both creeped him out and intimidated him. However, that wasn't the issue at the moment. What was going to happen next? What could he do? In his rush he had seeminly forgotten that it was his intent not to win this battle. For sure, he knew he couldn't. The anger had given him a drive, this feeling that maybe, just maybe he could pull off a win. Such a fallacy. Standing before him now, Rem could once again feel the difference in their strengths. Before he could think any further, the man spoke, taunting him, goading him with an issuing challenge. Well, when you know you're going to lose, at least you gotta go out with a bang, right? Bending his knees slightly and pushing off, Rem launched himself at the man, stopping at the very last second, just about one meter away. He pounced, leaping into the air and performing three rapid somersaults before whipping his foot down, aiming his heel toward the man's left shoulder. "Jyuu-nen Kei!!" (Ten Year Whip) Should he be successful, he would use the moment to wring his arm back and send a punch rocketing toward his opponent's face. Should the move fail, however, he'd attempt to flip his body over to land in a partial crouch and leap backwards a few times to increase the distance between them.

Valekin almost wanted to burst out laughing, then rip the kid's tongue out and set it on fire. Of course he didn't, what he did do was something terrible to the teen. Never, ever attempt an aerial assault on Valekin, it's never going to end well for you. As the leg came down towards his shoulder, the corresponding arm reached up, moving like a bolt of lightning. The male's other arm went to meet the same leg, midair as it's partner did. This would result in a hold. The left hand to grip, then squeeze the boy's ankle, and the right arm to grip and squeeze the calf.
Provided this connected, which I can't see a reason why it wouldn't, as one can't change their trajectory in midair, which disabled the ability to suddenly change course. This wasn't anime, this was real life. And the kid would end up learning that real life, and anime weren't at all like each other.
Provided this connected, once again, Valekin would hold on, swing him around like he was some sort of rag doll, bring him down towards the ground, to slam the kid's upper body against the cold hard earth, lift him up again, with several pivots to swing him against a tree. Of course if the kid was dumb enough to try to grab onto either of these, he'd get seriously cut up. Because at this point, Valekin's hardest grip meant claws were going to be digging into one's skin. Even through clothing. As denim, and cloth weren't tough enough to stand up to him.

Being yanked out of midair wasn't a first for Rem, he'd seen it happen many a time in anime, and of course, having employed the move countless times back in Japan, he was accustomed to people grabbing it. He was~ rather small, and that fact tempted so many others to attempt a hold. However, none of them had been as strong or as fast as this guy. The vicegrip on his leg sent a plethora of impulses to his brain, all screaming the same thing 'PAIN' He felt his body sail through midair in a haphazard, but extremely speedy manner and soon felt his torso and head being introduced to the dirty terrain. Rem's entire world was pain, however the impact had completely sobered him up from his surprise. Back to the plan! Whenever someone would hold him like this, he'd instinctively go for... "Jinrai Senshuken!!" (Thunderclap Champion) Rem went all out, channeling every bit of his electrical power to his left calf, which Valekin held on to with such vehemence. The amount of electricity he'd be generating would be enough to paralyse an elephant. When his body crashed into the tree, a sharp pain jolted up his spine and a torrent of blood shot out from behind his clenched teeth, however, he somehow managed to maintain his flow of Qi. Should this work, his opponent would have no choice, but to release him unless he wanted to end up just a pile of ashes. In that scenario, Rem would roll across the ground, reeling from the impact with the ground and the tree and would shakily rise to his feet, his body releasing just a slight charge, resulting in tiny sparks of electricity snaking its way around his body at random intervals.

The electricity ran through his body rapidly. And that sent him over the edge. Purple flames burst from his eyes for just an instant, his strength increased, nearly visibly. The creature's already high speed, shot through the roof. His durability went with it. Everything shot through the roof. His will to survive, and his kill impulse, had gone out of control.
He didn't let go though, he continued to use the kid as a flail. Moving to slam him against the earth once, and then twice. Then spinning the kid into another tree, and then another. His claws tore through flesh, and with one final swing, he threw him at the earth again. Finally letting go.
Normally his flesh would have been charred, but all he did was smoke a bit. And even that ceased rapidly. His Qi had been activated, and things had gone to a new level of insane.

Rem's diminutive body would twitch quite fiercely where it lay on the ground after getting so much of a bang up. The odd thing was, the electricity that coursed through his veins did wonders to numb the pain. Somehow he'd manage to push himself up onto his hands and knees, and then rock back into a sitting position where he could see his opponent more clearly. Intimidated would've been an understatement to what the Japanese youth was feeling at the moment. He could almost feel the man's Qi exuding some sort of force upon him. Still, all he could do was chuckle as he attempted to pick himself off of the ground, having trouble with his pretty much shreded left calf. Rem rocked back, placing just enough weight on the foot to hold himself up without keeling over in pain, while equally distributing the rest of it to his right foot. He straightened his back and took a deep breath, closing his eyes and reopening them just a second later. Then he'd ease himself back into a mirrored stance, seemingly full of unguarded points. "S...so...you're that strong, huh?" His words were slightly marred by the amount of blood gathering and flowing from his lips. "I'm not done yet..." Even though he said this, he was quite content to let the man initiate battle. He could wait all night.

"You will be."
It was the way he said it. The way he said it that would put fear into the hearts of the bravest of people. This kid was probably too stupid to really realize what he was fighting. An abomination, one who has met death so many times, and walked away practically unscathed. One so twisted, that he ate his own kind, just because they were weak, and their essence would feed his power.
The dash came, and it only took him an instant to cover the distance. He'd be looking down on the fellow, up close and personal. The right hand reached for the boy's throat like a bolt of clawed lightning. The other hand, had balled into a fist, to force itself into the boy's stomach. Most likely forcing the air from the kid's lungs, and taking him completely by surprise. The chances of the kid seeing this coming, or even having the speed or reaction time to see it in time, and act, where nil.
