Water flowed freely in the same direction that he moved. Eventually he'd come to a point where all the water flowed at his position. A deep pool was draining where he was heading, draining towards the ocean. This water didn't get treated, it went right to the ocean, which lead to freedom, which lead to the beach, which lead to civilization. And perhaps a hospital. However.. there was a problem. Bars were over the drain, rusty, old bars, that could probably be kicked out with some exertion. In the direction he was heading, there were more bars.
There was no way he'd make it if he went back.
So what was he going to do? Kick through the grate? Or walk back and try to get out in the other direction. As there was only one other direction to go. Through the grate, or back towards the other path.

It was such an easy decision to make. Going back now would be like having been stranded on a deserted island and rescued, and the first thing given to you to eat, a coconut. No, he wouldn't go back to eating coconuts....weird analogy. Anyways, he was near delusional now, so he could get away with it. Seeing this glimpse of freedom, so close and yet so far away, he knew he didn't have the strength to get back through the haphazard cage again. This was truly make it or break. Prepping himself for the severe repercussions of his next actions, he darted at the rusty bars gathering the rest of his Qi into one single punch, swiping all the bars at once in an electrical storm of sorts. "Ichi-nen Panchi!!" (One year punch) He heard...and felt the painful cracking that indicated that the bones in his hand had been shattered by the impact, however, the bars had been pitched outward thereby freeing his path. Rem sank to his knees. "C'mon...home stretch...home stretch...home stretch...baseball analogies..." Falling forward, he let the water take him, flowing out into the ocean, in a semi-conscious state.
