Olesya gave him an incredibly suspicious look. What sort of sickness could he have where blood thinning was the less of two evils? However, if David didn't want to tell her right now, then it was his prerogative. It had been seven years since she'd last seen him. Much had happened for both of them in that time, and Olesya didn't feel the need to share her entire life story with him...yet. He had the right to keep to himself as well.
A smirk crossed her face as David posed, at least acting like his goofy self again. That was a good sign.
"Well the circumstances weren't idea..ahem.."
She coughed, giving him that quizzical look again, though her expression changed, showign that she was going to drop it.
"But they're both very nice. I like them."
She gave a small smile. Olesya didn't take to many people, having preferred to be alone for the last half dozen years. August and Youichi were kind though, and both dynamic in their own way. She liked them.

David rolled his eyes as she basically stated the same thing that was on his mind. His attitude was light, and airy, but he really just wasn't ready to share that information with anyone. When your at a young age, and something bad happens to you, people automatically treat you like a walking corpse. Every day becomes a perfect funeral, every moment spent with them watching you, and their eyes saying "i know your going to die." He supposed it was better than being a parapalegic, or something along those lines. As she stated that she liked his friends, he grinned, nodding.
"Good. Their probably the closest thing i have to a brother and sister."
He looked down at the ground, absent-minededly thinking again of his brother. The boy who was lost, and found on the enemy's team. It was like twisting a knife in his gut every time he thought about it. Damien was a man, and had to make a mans decisions. That the boy would side with the bad guy just didn't seem probable....a Blaze that was batting for the wrong team? Maybe the winning team...he looked back up at Olesya, before holding up a finger as though to say "just a minute". He stuck his head out in the hall, just catching the tail end of Youichi, shaking her head and rolling her eyes with a small smile at August.
"Hey, guys- is the fire outside sectioned off?" August gave a nod mixed with a yes. "We should go outside tonight and build one."
August shrugged and agreed, Youichi saying nothing as she leaned against the counter. David would bring his head back in the room and look to Olesya.
"Wanna hang out with us here, tonight? We have sleeping bags and some warmish beer...?"
Hopefully, she didn't see it as him propositioning her in any way...he was just hoping for an extended time of the pleasure of her company.

A small, warm smile came to the girl's face at David's proposition. If only Doctor Twist could see her now, hanging out with people like it was no big deal. When she first arrived at the halfway house, Olesya had kept completely to herself, hardly even talking to the staff. Slowly she began to reach out to her roommate and other 'guests' of the house. Being on her own for so long, she had forgotten what it was like to have friends, to have people to talk to.
"That...sounds good, actually."
Apparently it took the world ending to get a lost soul like Olesya back on the right track.
She lived only a block or so away, it wasn't like the needed to sleep over. She didn't have a car, and even if she did, there were no cops around to give her a DWI. His invitation came from wanting to have her stay longer and hang out with him, August, and Youichi. Olesya couldn't remember having a sleep over since middle school, a good decade ago or so.
"I can help with the fire...do you guys need wood?"
With all the destruction everywhere, it wouldn't be hard to find scrap wood.

David grinned.
"Sweeet."
He would gesture with a tilt of his head in a "follow me" motion, moving through the open doorway and into a sort of kitchen-living room area. Heading over to one of the cupboards, he opened in smoothely, a slight creak edging out from the hinges. Down from the innards he grabbed a slightly battered box of Graham crackers, a mint box of ten hershey chocolate bars and a huge bag of fluffy white marshmellows. He set them all on the counter and let out a sarcastic sigh.
"Found more in my building than i initially let on."
He also brought out a bottle of Tequila, as well as some beers that were rather warm. He didn't know if keeping beers cold was a necessity, but he didn't think so. He figured them to be like a bunch of cans of soda- gross when warm, but still drinkable. He'd move to stick the tequila back, instead getting cut off by August, who took the bottle and gave him an "are you an idiot?" look before walking away with it. David glanced at Les, shrugged, and grabbed the stuff off the counter and headed outside. He tossed the food on a frayed picnic table before looking back at the white-haired female.
"Alright. Shall we go hunting for some wood?"
Not that it would be too difficult. Still, since he had gotten there, he hadn't been able to do much looking around, so he figured he would let her take point for now.

Olesya simply nodded in acknowledgement with a knowing smirk on her face when he mentioned he had found more than he originally let on. As a scavenger by trade, she knew that very well. She would trade a jacket in town, talk it up as the only one she had, even though she'd found two that day. It was how you survived, and Olesya couldnt fault him for that. After all, he knew none of her secrets, either.
"Alright."
They headed out the kitchen door toward the backyard. Most of it had been cleared away, leaving a relatively decent looking yard, considering it was the end of the world.
"So, August and Youichi.."
Olesya picked up a piece of wood that looked like it had belonged to a chair once.
"Are they...?"
She nodded her head back toward the house, catching his gaze and giving him a curious look. Not that she was interested in August, but the way the two of them acted around each othe indicated a particular closeness.

David cocked his head as she brought up the pair that were left behind, a few planks and parts of wood stacked in his arms. He smiled a bit as she practically asked if they were a couple. David had long leaned on the two of them, putting some of the weight off himself and sharing the load. This had caused them to become so much more...well, more to him. They were kinder, more willing to assist, and funner. Even Youichi, if it could be imagined. As a reward, he had learned far more about the two of them, and though most of the time they seemed to banter back and forth effortlessly and without aim, a good eye could spot the underlying flirtation, and deep attraction. Still, not many guessed how deep that attraction went. Last night, the two of them had...well, done things. At least, that's what David assumed at the time. He had come from his room and stopped, backing up to watch Youichi shut Augusts door behind herself, hair disheveled, and walk back into her own room. He grinned and continued on his way, until he had heard her crying.
Opening the door, he went in to comfort her, which she resisted at first. Still, trying to make him go away when he knew there was something up was nearly impossible, so she had wrapped her arms around his neck and cried. It was completely foriegn to David, and quite horrifying, considering the girl had never shed a tear in his life (or so he assumed). Still, she told him that they were intimate, but that she felt so...strange, and stopped. She had told him it was a mistake and then left the room as he sat there, slightly aghast.
"They... are complicated. They like each other, sure. I just think ones a little too afraid of the possibilities."
Perhaps like himself. He stood up and stared at the sky, the golden purple glow of the sun barely visible through a tree in the distance. It was getting late, as was expected. He would shrug as he continued to talk.
"I think Bee just needs some encouragement but I don't really know what to say. I mean, I can't exactly pretend I know what she's going through, can i?" He gave her a larger smile.
"Maybe you could try talking to her."

Olesya paused as she bent to pick another piece of wood up. Wrapping her long slender fingers around it, she straightened back up and fixed David with a look that could only be described as pure horror. Her? Talk to Youichi? About FEELINGS? Had he any idea what Olesya had gone through in the last seven years that left her emotionally scarred almost beyond recognition?
Well, no. He didn't. But that was beside the point!
The young woman cleared her throat, busying herself in lfilling her arms with as much wood as she could possibly carry to distract her from the real issue at hand.
"Uh..yeah. Sure..whoa!"
In her zealousness to distract herself from thinking about things as fragile and vulnerable as feelings, Olesya had taken on more than she could physically fit in her arms. The top piece wobbled, and Olesya weaves to try and keep it balanced on top.

David set his pile down on a tarp as Olesya was agreeing- looking over at her as she began to teeter dangerously.
"Careful-!"
He darter forward, his left arm wrapping under the pieces of wood deftly, using his other arm to come around her waist to keep her from falling back, turning so the wood was no longer between their bodies and she had no risk of hitting them. Their faces would be quite close, David staring into her mis-matched eyes for a moment. He nearly wanted to say something clever about the beauty of it, her, and how cute her wobbling was. Instead, he cleared his throat a little and spoke softly.
"Well...uhh....that was lucky."
Feeling rather proud of his skills, he stepped back to help her stand before grinning and giving her a wink, intent on turning around and marching over to the pile to lay down the pieces of wood. Instead, he took two steps, caught his foot on a steel pipe and faceplanted, scattering the wood everywhere, letting out a mighty "OOF-!" as he impacted. Groaning and rolling over onto his back, he spoke in a rather hurt voice.
"That went over better in my head."

It all went so quickly; one moment she was teetering, trying to tame the tower of misfit firewood, the next it was swept from her hands, an arm snaking around her waist to support her. Their faces really close, it reminded Olesya of their play fight earlier today, bringing a tinge to her cheeks. As she recovered her dignity, David appeared to toss his to the wind as he tripped, scattering the wood everywhere.
Olesya cringed, seeing it all go down, and there wasn't a thing she could do about it. Stepping forward, she held her hand out to him.
"Well, that's one way to do it."
She joked. If he took her hand, she'd brace herself and pull him to his feet. If he decided to go the way of pride, she'd dust her hand off on her shorts and start picking up the scattered wood.

"It's the medicine, y'know. Messes with my equilibrium."
He gave an obviously lame excuse to add humor, reaching up and gripping her hand so she could tug him to his feet. His pride was what forced him to take the load from her, and rather than let it take the reigns again, he would gladly take the assist. It wasn't like she didn't see the whole thing anyway. He would begin piling the wood back on the blanket, watching Olesya a moment as she probably helped. He cleared his throat, looking around quickly as he realized he was standing there stupidly, staring like a git. He would, instead, try and go back the route that they were discussing before the fight.
"So you mentioned there wasn't a boyfriend huh? So, does that mean your not interested in anyone, or are you just not really on the market?"
He tried to phrase it so that it didn't seem like he was interested. He didn't want her to get all weird or something before they got back to the fire. As they talked, he would finish piling them on, grabbing a side of the sheet and indicating she should grab to other side. They would hoof it back like that, not more than a block or so, setting down the wood next to the fire pit. David would gesture for August to get the fire started, the red head handing off a pair of beers to David, who would hold them up for Olesya.
"So, we have Blue moon aaand...oh, look at that! MORE blue moon."
He grinned before handing her off a beer, if she wanted one.

Olesya's smile faded instantly at the mention of his medication, a look of simmering worry sullying her features. It faded to a neutral-positive expression as they picked up the edges of the sheet and walked the wood back to David's house. The entire way back, she tried to push the thought of him passing out in front of her, of him laying pale and unconscious in his bed, out of her mind. She didn;t that to ruin her fun night with him and his friends.
Friends...she could have friends again. That was such a foreign concept to Olesya, it made her feel a bit giddy inside...but also a bit queasy.
She contemplated his offer, taking one of the Blue Moons.
"Blue Moon it is then!"
She twisted the top off and took a sip. She'd never had one before, having stuck to more...ahem...potent self medications than booze when she was on the streets. It tasted pretty good though, kind of orangey. Overall, not bad.
"Wann burn some stuff?'
She asked, grinning devilishly. Fire was always fun, no matter the circumstances. Needless to say, Olesya was a bit of a pyro. She could even be on fire, and still find some sort of merriment in it.

David looked to August, who reached into a walmart-esque sack and pulled out a canister of AXE body spray. Tossing it to him, David caught the bottle with his left hand, pulling a lighter out from his back pocket and holding them both out to Olesya.
"I'll let you have the honors, then."
David wasn't much of a fire lover, despite his last name. Still, there wasn't an individual on the planet who didn't enjoy getting a can of body spray and a lighter and torching some shit. In fact, back at 259, one of the fire alarms was because he torched a desk by accident. Olesya seemed far more giddy about it, so letting her take the reigns only seemed fit. Youichi, who also held a beer despite her age (David figured the world had ended anyway, why the hell not?) and August both got to their feet and moved to the side, away from the path of the flame Les was probably going to eject. David, while they were moving, piled wood into the little campire area, stacking them to burn most effectively.
He would then move off to stand behind Olesya, gesturing for her to have fun. As she burned, Daniel looked over at August, who was leaving a purposeful little gap between himself and Youichi. stared at the wood in amusement. David wished to have some time with his old friend- but not now. He looked back to Olesya, grinning as he took another drink of beer.
OOC((Short, my apologies.))

The young woman took the weapons of mass destruction with much glee, looking very much like a demented teenager again. She and her siblings (usually Darien) would set things on fire all the time behind their house/cafe/florist shop. It was a solid answer to the age-old question "What should we do with this?" The answer was always "Let's burn it!"
Leaving her beer behind in the grass, she build up a small teepee in the fire pit, putting smaller twiggy-like pieces and some newspaper on the inside. She then lightly sprayed the inside with the axe bottle, and sprayed the outside where the heavier pieces of wood were. Now it was time for the fireworks.
Olesya lit the lighter, the flame dancing a mere inch from her hand. She aimed the aerosol can at the wooden teepee and put two and two together to make....a makeshift blowtorch. A large flame shot out from her hands, engulfing the teepee in reds oranges and yellows. The vivid bright contrast danced across all their faces, making Olesya's hair look like it was aflame due to the stark whiteness.
After a couple glorious seconds, she lifted her finger from the aerosal dispenser, dropping the can to the ground as it had grown rather hot. She turned, handing the lighter back to David and dipping to the ground to pick up her beer. She tok a healthy swig, looking back to the blazing fire that sat merrily where a simple pile of wood had been.

David watched Olesya with some serious amusement, grinning as she stepped back. August and Youichi would step up and grab some sticks that lay off to the side, sticking marshmellows on the end and sitting to roast them over the fire, David would join them, grabbing his own branch and sitting across from the two, leaving room for Olesya to join him if she wanted. August would look to the both of them and grin.
"So, shall we play never have i?" He looked between Youichi and David, whose blank faces told him they had no idea what he was talking about. "Oh, come on! Ok, seriously, it's fuckin' hilarious. So, we go around in a circle and each say something we have never done. Something believable. If the other people sitting around you HAVE done it, they must take a drink. It's suppose to go by quick, to achieve maximum drunkedness."
He leaned back, patting the top his his legs with his palms once before reaching down for his beer.
"Okay...you go first then."
August cocked an eyebrow at the challenge.
"Gladly."
He held up his beer and looked around.
"I have never done an illegal drug."
Youichi took a drink. David took a drink. Youichi's turn.
"Uh...i've fought a wild animal with my fists."
David drank deep. So did August.
Olesya's turn.

Les mirrored David and Youichi's blank stares. It sounded mildly familiar, but a lot of her younger high school memories had faded due to her...life style choices. But August explained that it was drinking game whose purpose was to of course get everyone drunk, but also to learn more about the people you were playing with. August started off with a hard hitter: illegal drugs. During her rock bottom phase, Olesya was self medicating with so many different drugs that she forgot or didn't even know the names of some of them. She had been reckless, careless.
She took a very long drink.
Youichi's turn. It was something Olesya had done before. Fought a wild animal with her fists...good one. She didn't take a drink. Now they looked expectantly at Les, and she thought for a moment.
"Never have I..."
Fallen in love?
Found her family since the fallout?
"...graduated highschool."
It was true, she hadn't. It wasn't something she was ashamed of, and in the state of the world it didn't exactly matter anymore did it? There were no jobs, Olesya was a scavenger by trade, and she actually preferred it that way.
