David watched, a grin on his face, as Olesya continued to chug down her drink. Obviously, there was a story behind the use of drugs- he wondered if maybe it was pertaining to the correctional facility or if it was a third party use. He took a deep breath, watching as August and Youichi drank following Les' announcement. He cleared his throat, sinister thoughts flowing into his head.
"I've never been kissed by men named David during a fight."
He kept his grin on his face, turning to stare at Olesya. Obviously a target in her direction. Youichi stared at her too, a small smile still creased to his lips. His attention, however, was caught by August raising his glass to his lips and taking a long swig. He cocked an eyebrow over his left eye, the red head shrugging.
"I got into it with a drunk dude once....said his name was dave..." He took a deep breath. "That was a weird night...."
David busted up laughing, turning to look back at Olesya as he did so.

Olesya scowled at David's turn, what a low blow! It wasn't like they'd fought earlier today or anything, and that a kiss had been thrown into the mix. She grabbed a new beer and took a swig, though thankfull the burning attention was taken off of Olesya and place on August.
August? Really?
Her expression matvhed that other her comrades, a look of confusion. Him too? Did David just go around kissing people? (What a whore..) Turns out, August had gotten himself into a drunken brawl where the dude (named Dave) planted a wet one on him. Stranger things have happened in drunken brawls, so Les didn't fault him for that.
Avoiding David's gaze, Les looked to August.
"Alright, your turn."

August grinned.
"Shits about to get real."
He set down the beer and took out four small cups and the bottle of tequila.
"Let's get this party started!"
He poured the drinks, handing one off to Youichi and Olesya first, then pouring Davids and his own last. He held up his own cum, about a shot and a halfs worth, and spoke with a grin.
"I've never purposely picked a fight." He drank the glass. "Okay, so that was a lie. Sue me."
David rolled his eyes, throwing back the drink and letting out a little cough before shaking his head. He was not a big fan of hard alcohol. He would have maybe three of these and be gone- at least with beer, he could appear to have some sort of self control. He set down the glass, picking up his beer and taking a drink as sort of chaser. Youichi swallowed it without problem, though August too had a little big of a coughing fit- probably because it went down the wrong tube. August had drank in front of Dave before, and that man could hold his liquor. Youichi watched as August re-poured them new glasses, talking as he did so.
"I've never broken a bone before."
Davids eyes rolled, the warmth of the last drink barely settling into his stomach before he swallowed another. The fight with Amtrum, the Earth Dragon, was called up from his memory. The man had torn a rib bone clean from his body, and David's metal rib was still attached in its place. He had broken bones of the other man as well, and they both had been forced to have immediate medical attention, both swearing to pick up the fight in the future.
He set down the glass, blinking a couple times as the first drink tingled in his fingers.
"This...won't end well for me i think."

"Oh jeez.."
Mismatched eyes fell on the bottle of tequila. Olesya could hold her liquor better than most people she knew, but tequila was one of those things that bit you no matter how good you were. Shit was definitely about to get real.
She bit out a hard 'hah!' at August's never-have-I, having picked more fights than she could ever dream of trying to remember. The liquor burned down her throat, but she took it pretty easily. She chased it with a swig of Blue Moon, and she twisted her face for a second. The two didn't taste all that great together. This was going to be a rough night.
Youichi poured them another round, and Olesya took hers in hand.
"Now this just isn't fair."
She tossed back the shot. She seriously doubted than anyone in this current company hadn't started a fight or broken a bone. Even regardless of their current situation, they all grew up in a rough world. There wasn't a single student from PHS#259 that had gone through their high school career without getting into at least one fight. It was just such a common occurrence that it just didn't happen.
She felt the corners of her vision growing mildly fuzzy.
"I've never...gone streaking."
She snickered, tilting her beer bottle back and forth in a taunting 'tisk tisk' gesture, waiting to see who would drink. The object was not only to get drunk...but learn some revealing things about those you were playing with, wasn't it?

David groaned.
Both shots were now in his system, and he was beginning to feel a little....light. He tossed back the shot rather disdainfully as Olesya said she had never been streaking. David was okay with it....he didn't want her naked in front of anyone else anyway. Just him. Repeatedly. He took a long breath before being poured another drink. He stared at it a moment before running his fingers back through his short hair.
"I've...uh....I've never been in love."
Which was true, in a way. He had realized his relationship with a certain individual was probably a big mistake, as they both had way too much history to really continue it adequately. Emily was more a little sisterly love, and Olesya was, at least in high school days, just a crush. Now...well, he still had feelings for her, but they were growing over time. He wasn't one to say "i love you" until he was sure, and since he never had in complete honesty? He would look over at Olesya, watching to see if she would drink, so he would miss it when August, a little buzzed, looked over at youichi at the same time youichi looked at him, and both would drink it slowly before turning back to the other two.
August moved in for the kill.
"Let...*hic*....Lets play terth or dare!"

The tequila warmed her stomach, spreading slowly to her limbs, making her feel all sorts of fuzzy. She was definitely buzzed, moving quickly toward drunk. Tomorrow was going to hurt...a lot. But that was something to worry about when the demon-sphere rose. Right now, she was enjoying being with friends, something she hadn't done in a really really long time.
When David told his never-have-I, Olesya's hand didn't move to the shot in front of her. The simple explanation, she had never been in love. The closest thing she'd ever had to a relationship was Stu, and that had crashed and burned so horribly that they had been enemies for a while. She had one date with Mathew, but like the others, he up and disappeared. And Jon? Well, they had a moment many winters ago when they were forced into caring for an orphan girl for school credit. But like the magic of Christmas, with the season, the moment had passed.
August offered up another game, which was good because if they were going to continue with shots, they'd all be fucked in another couple rounds. However, Truth was a slippery slope for Olesya, and judging by how things were progressing, Dare was probably just as dangerous.
"Aw'hell."
Olesya shrugged, bringing the bottle to her lips again.
"Why th'hell not. Youichi, truth or dare."
She figured she'd start with the least dangerous...for now.

Youichi looked over at Olesya, her eyes a little blurry. " Dare." She wasn't afraid of anything this white haired girl could come up with. Not only was the alcohol pouring through her veins and giving her a little bit of excess courage, she just didn't really have much in the way of fear capacity. She feared two things- Davids death, and Augusts death. Everything else was water that could be sorted under the bridge. David, meanwhile would take a long drink of his beer, finishing it off without a hitch before tossing it off to the side and leaning in to grab another. The white haired girl smirked, her mildly intoxicated brain thinking up something good. What would be a good dare to start out with? Nothing too big, because then she'd be setting the bar too high and they'd all be in trouble, but not too low or it would be seen as lame.
"We'll start out easy...I dare you to jump the fire."
"The fire?"
"The fire."
The black haired girl looked at her for a moment, before shrugging and climbing to her feet. The fire wasn't too big, but they had put a decent amount of wood on it so the flames licked about shoulder height. Youichi walked up the the edge of the fire, judging it's height before taking purposed steps back. When she was far enough to get a running start she took off, pushing off from the ground a couple feet from the coals and leaping over the flames like it was a hurdle and she an Olympic track star. She hit the ground on the other side, tumbling back to her feet. She threw her arms up in a little 'tada!' motion, swaying ever so slightly, feet firmly planted on the ground.
She wove her way back to her seat in the circle, focusing her bright pink eyes on David.
"Your turn. Truth or dare."

He watched as Youichi stood (rather shakily) and did her jump, smiling a little in admiration at her skill. He had been right, so long ago, to help her, to hide her from those who would have seen her dead. She had grown so much since then, and still closer to him. She still wore the tools he had given her the last time they had been in contact, and when she looked at him, he could see that she cared for him. Not like she cared for August- but like a brother, or a best friend you just couldn't live without. To know that there were two, maybe three people sitting around a fire who would sacrifice their lives for yours was...a strange feeling. Like a burden, but one you bore for them as well. He smiled as she swaggered back over to her seat, turning those eyes on his.
David stared at her a moment.
"Truth."
He wasn't a coward, he just wanted to mix things up. Plus, he didn't want to go streaking or something again...the last time it had happened, he and Leon had done it at school. His mood perked a moment at the thought of the blonde bastard, before crashing again at the knowledge of his death. He would still apear focused on the outside, however, waiting for the girl to give him a response.
"Do you ever regret meeting Olesya?"
She said it with a straight face, pretending it was a serious question, when she actually just wanted to get him talking about her. Still, the question could be seen as an insult, but she was never the most tactful person on earth. David laughed.
"Well, when i last saw her and she roughed me up a bit, things were... upsetting. But even then i don't think i wished i never met her. Was just a rough patch, i guess."
He looked to her.
"Truth or dare."

Olesya's mismatched eyes widened at Youichi's words, she hadn't expected that direct of a question aim at David. She looked over at him, the mass amount of alcohol in her system creating a fuzzy glow around him from where he sat by the fire. She brought the bottle to her lips once more, the tangy amber liquid zapping her tastebuds.
It wasn't a question she'd thought about. Did he regret meeting her? Bringing up her dark past made Olesya frown slightly, a shadow casting over her face. Prior to now, the last time she'd seen David was on the rooftop of a club. He'd recognized her, called her by her given name. Those three syllables had sparked the block in her mind, causing her memories to return. At the time she'd been angry, so very angry and spiteful. The vemon that was Ophelia still pumped through her veins as they squared off on the roof.
"Who is Olesya to you?"
She has been circling him, taunting him with both her stare and her rain soaked clothes sticking to her skin. The thunder rumbled overhead, heightening their senses, making their hearts race.
"A friend? A lover? C'mon David...what does it matter to you who I am?!"
He had been right to call it a rough time. He hadn't even seen the half of it. She felt a warmness in her chest when he said that even then he hadn't regretted meeting her. David was one of the only true friends she had left, it meant a lot to her to hear that.
SHe shook herself out of her train of thought when he focused his gaze on her.
"...Truth."
Why the hell not?

Those beautiful eyes...
His own vision was blurring, fuzzy around the edges. She, however. Was dead center and clear as day.
'Truth.'
He stared at her a long moment, August and youichi admiring the singe marks on the young females jeans, totally not paying attention to either David or Olesya. He knew he was silent for an unnatural period of time, but he couldn't help it. He had asked her the for what she wanted, and he expected a dare. It was poetic, for some reason. Drinking with friends under the stars, looking at each other with a gaze that... He took another shot before blurting it out.
"Olesya, i'm dying."
Truth. For some reason he took it to himself, and was ashamed. Ashamed for keeping her in the dark, for kissing her. Making out like there might be a future. There wasn't. Not for him. He vaguely noticed that August and Youichi were staring wide eyed at them both, the crackling of the fire setting off firework-like pops in the background. He didn't care. He just stared, blearily, at Olesya, the hope in his chest feeling crushed, a tightness spreading through to his shoulders.

Olesya found it difficult to wrap her mind around the words that left his mouth. It wasn't a question, much less a question directed to revealing something about herself. Instead he made a statement that took this runaway train of fun they were having and directed it off a cliff.
Her jaw dropped, and she stared at him for a moment, unaware of August and Youichi's looks of shock. And then, slowly, her liquor addled brain began to draw in the memories of earlier today. His collapse, the needle, the pills... Olesya scowled, standing up and weaving slightly on her feet.
"NO. Don't you do this to me David, don't you dare!"
He had just come back into her life, one of her only friends in seven years of loneliness. This had to be some kind of sick joke, and she wasn't laughing.

He watched the registration crease her eyes and face. The two on the long were forgotten as David seemed far more sober- which he was, regrettably, not.
"Its not like I have a *HIC* choice."
He walked forward a little unsteadily, his hand surprisingly gentle on her cheek.
"I'm sorry."
And unless interrupted, would walk off toward the house, leaving them all sitting or standing alone.

That answer was not good enough for Olesya, it felt like the world was playing another cruel trick on her. Give her her friends back and then yank them away once more. It was more than she could handle. When he walked up to her and touched her cheek, she felt her stomach turn. The thought of losing her friends again made her feel sick (or maybe it was the tequila).
When he turned to go inside, Olesya turned away from the house, taking off into the night. The ruined city was a blur around her, and she was a little unsteady on her feet, but the adrenaline in her system pushed her on. She ran was long as she could until she stumbled, tumbling to the ground and scraping her knees and elbows on the torn up asphalt. On her hands and knees, she emptied the contents of her stomach onto the torn up road, feeling both mentally and physically sick and defeated.
---
"Shit. You get one I'll get the other?"
Youichi turned to August as Olesya took off. She couldn't let the girl run off intoxicated after a revolation like that. She took off after the white haired girl, also rather unsteady and a bit slower than the former experiment, but her training and experience as an assassin allowed her to track down the rogue girl without too much difficulty.
---
Olesya didn't know how it happened, but she woke up in her bed the following morning, hung over with a glass of water by her bedside, and her knees and elbows cleaned and bandaged up.
