Let's get down to business (Kiyr and Rai)

[Mathew Amtrum]

He had lead his two blindfolded apprentices out of the city and to the coast. Up a large rock face that overlooked the ocean. The sun was still rising and the chill ocean mist was blowing across their faces. They could probably guess where they were.

"You may take off your blindfolds and take a moment to marvel at the view."

The sunrise reflecting off of the ocean. Pink and orange hues sweeping across the sky. And Mathew standing behind his two young apprentices. His coat gently moving in the breeze.

To defeat Barker!

Kiyr had been amusing herself by following Mathew and Raikotsu just by sound alone, tilting her head ever so slightly with each step and gauging by the slight differences in light changes through the blindfold so she didn't bump into either of them.

She was light on her feet, so her methods were effective.

When she crossed into Mathew's shadow at the end of the journey, she stopped, breathing deep with the slight breeze.

The suggestion to take off their blindfolds came, and Kiyr did so, wrapping the material around her hand. For a few moments, she allowed herself the luxury of looking at the sunrise and enjoying the blissful breeze.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

Rai took off his blindfold at Mathews command and wrapped it around his knuckles on his left and his hair would flow with the breeze, he always did love the ocean. The sights, the smells, the air all of it, it was peaceful Rai would have begun to meditate if he were alone but as it were they were here for training.

"What have you brought us here for master?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"To be the first one to the top."

He said and immediately shoved BOTH of his apprentices off of the cliff. It was a long drop down in to the ocean.

"Don't belly flop!"

He yelled at them as they fell.

[Kyrie Blaze]

With the shove, Kiyr's blue eyes went wide, and she started to curl herself in a ball. Kiyr flailed for just a moment before she flung her arms and legs wide, looking like she was going to belly flop before she tucked her body in, and allowed gravity to take its course, luckily diving into the water with the crashing tide being at an apex. She opened her eyes as her shoulders were enveloped, and arched her body, veering away from Rai.

She turned, one smooth motion, and propelled herself towards the surface.

Upon breaking the water, she took a few deep breaths as the water was sucked back out.

She waited for the next wave to come in, shifted herself to face the cliff, tucked her legs in, and let the water lift her up, even though it meant crashing against the cliff face. She clung to the rocks, all grim determination.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

As Rai fell toward the crashing waves he would aim to be going down head first, he put his hands up in an crossed open palm while relaxing his elbows and shoulders to make sure he could break through the water instead of the water breaking him.

After hitting the water he'd swim back up, more difficult because of his soaked clothes and weighted cloak. Rai was worried that Kiyr might actually get the better of him this time but refused to let that stop him, he swam to the cliff side as fast as he could and start climbing. But he was wary of any trick that his master, or Kiyr, might have in store for him.

[Kyrie Blaze]

It wasn't going to be so simple. Like her competition, she was wary.

Kiyr glanced at Raikotsu, gave him a distractingly bright smile, and shot upwards, using her legs to propel herself and just using her arms for grip - holding herself close to the cliff face - and balance.

This was within her realm of expertise.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

She was faster than him no doubt especially since he had his cloak on, but he wouldn't let this stop him he would pull a rock out of the cliff wall while climbing and toss it where Kiyrs head was currently at so that by the time it got to her location the back of her knee should be there and proceeded to dart up there using all of his strength and Sudeki training.

[Kyrie Blaze]

It would have been a very good idea, had Kiyr not been checking on her opponent's progress. She braced herself with her two hands, and one foot, kicking the stone straight down before continuing upwards, her eyes skimming for handholds while her legs continued to provide the main momentum behind the climb.

[Mathew Amtrum]

Mathew would stomp his foot down as he watched them start their climbs. The cliff face would start to rumble.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Great googamooga! Earthquake!

Kiyr pulled herself closer to the clifface and skirted up, attempting to use a stronger reverberation to boost her climb, watching for falling rocks from the cliff and testing her weight quickly, but confidently.

It wasn't the first time she'd climbed the face of something that could easily crumble under her weight if she wasn't careful.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

Rai would hug the rock cliff and keep climbing, at least one good thing came from him having his cloak is that even if a stray rock hit him it wouldn't hurt him half as much. He would continue climbing hoping to catch up to Kiyr, and then pass her.

Another stomp and the cliff itself seemed to shift. Hand holds forming and unforming seemingly at random!

A challenge!

Kyrie's eyes narrowed, and she watched for patterns, even the slightest off-kilter timing could help her. Her gaze wasn't quite focused on any one portion, but seeing as much as she could as she continued to skirt up the cliff-face, with the occasional, ultra-quick, glance at Rai.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

Jumping from random handhold to random hand hold he would climb up as best as he can and when a handhold didn't appear he would continue to use the rock face. He would keep starring at Kiyr willing her to fall or mess up, the way this mess was going he'd never win because of her speed but he didn't give up but just started to climb faster.
