"I'm interested to hear more about you. She doesn't talk about her family much. She doesn't talk about anything much unless directly asked actually."
He paused a beat.
"Not counting when she is yelling at me of course."

Buck smirked. "What's there to know? I was born, raised by a slightly crazy mother and a stern father. Youngest of four siblings. Was raised in the rich kids life- all the rules no freedom, your typical scenario. Got old enough and went to military camp, found my escape- became an expert shot....came home to Vera dragging me out the front door on a journey to hunt down Bastille. Bastille out conned us every time- Vera actually got stabbed and then had a sudden epiphany- got married, had a kid. Died in childbirth with the second kid. Left me alone for the end of the world...got into an accident, Bastille saved my ass. Guess she'd been keeping tabs on me. She wasn't Bastille though, not really for those three years. Then suddenly about a year ago she seemed back to normal. I got nothing for you other then I just sat most of the time in a chair wondering who I was or what I wanted from this now shortened life. Have to say, I'm still asking the questions- but I figure it's not a race to figure out. It's the journey." Buck was a well rounded guy, he seemed content with his story and his answer.

"Hey, you don't know if it's a shortened one or not. We don't know when our time comes."
He laughed.
"I will consider it a miracle if I make it to old age personally."
He was kind of a reckless asshole.

&uck nodded. "it seems the average lifespans gone down a bit in recent times" he joked. "Any other questions about the family, I dont know much about Bastille after she left but before and anyone else of the family, I'm always willing to share. Seeing as we'll be siblings soon enough."

"I was always fascinated by the red eye thing. I've never seen anything like it. Well, other than that doctor I just met the other week. I didn't know it was a natural color."

Buck laughed. "I never really got the hype about it in our family, since Bastille was born before me, but my elder siblings always seemed jalous of it. It's a rare genetic trait, the eyes are actually a very deformed blue, white odd pigmentation. The doctor got it out of luck...she"s irish so we just tease her that way... Our family however, made a point to genetically keep that trait. It was always called the lions eye. Our superstitious family would only ever name the one with that trait a successor to the headship. Bastille was the only one of our generation with it. Funny thing, if you get her under a black light, her eyes glow bright blue."

So he got that she was the product of incest. Which actually made a lot of sense. That was British nobility for you. So it wasn't a huge surprise. Even if he didn't want to hear about the process of the family fucking.
"Top of the to do list now is clearly to find a black light."
Totally.

Buck smiled coyly.
"It's hilarious because the effect of a black light also somewhat blinds her. If you've ever encountered her in a club or dance hall, she usually wears goggles." He motioned. "See, the genetics of the eye actually show advanced eye capabilities. She can see better than the average person...and our family never needed glasses to being with. But in a black light, I dont know why, her eyes just diolate and she goes blind as a bat. Careful though- Bastille's really good at fighting without eyesight by this point. She knocked the Doctor down pretty hard"

He thought for a moment.
"Worth it."
Super big grin.
"So any concerns about me with your sis that I need to address?"

"Any concerns? No...Bastille can handle herself. I've always been one to warn the man about her rather her about him. She's used to thinking everything male in gender is the devils spawn. You should have read her college dissertation on the Adam and eve story. It was a riot."

He barked a laugh. "And here I was thinking she was so docile and obedient. You mean to say she is an angry person? I am SHOCKED!"
So much sarcasm.

Buck shrugged. "She used to be" no sarcasm colored his tone. "she used to be very polite and sweet"

"Until 'it' happened?"
It being the brutal slaughter of her lost love Leon of course. His tone was a bit more somber at the mention of it. He wasn't going to joke around with this subject.

"Actually..." He stated a bit a of a sigh escaping his lips. "When she met him. She was a doll until he prodded her with questions. That's when she got the fire. We owe who she is to him. Otherwise she'd be my mother all over again..."
A beat, and somewhat more quietly.
"But still that princess doll exists in her too, you see it sometimes, rarely, but she's there- and it's that side of her I perhaps fear the most."

"Why is that?"
Seemed an odd thing to fear.
