As David threw away his weapon and moved between him and his target, his eyes opened wide as he threw up a shield of light in front of himself. The shield certainly lessened the impact, though one would not know it as David's kick shattered the shield effortlessly, slamming into his knee. Levi allowed his leg to simply fly out from underneath himself, planting his chest into the ground with a thud, his knee now throbbing, but not broken. Levi pushed up and rolled backwards onto one foot and knee, wincing at the pain in his knee.

So much for keeping the heat up.....

Levi rose to his feet, placing his weight tenderly on his sore knee. It woiuld not be serving him in a full capacity for the remainder of the fight (-5 Dex with attacks with his right leg and mobility). He would need to consolidate his defenses to minimize his need to use his right leg. Hetook a defensive stance, squaring his shoulders to David and Mathew, his hands out as if holding a ball, halfway out from his body. He took a relaxed breath as he stared ahead, not focusing on either one in particular.

"Come....."

Mathew frowned a bit when Levi used his Qi, that was just disappointing, and here he had been hoping for a good old fashioned non mystical brawl. Whatever, it wasn't that big of a deal, just kind of a let down.

"We are using Qi now?"

He would move off to the left, allowing his steps to cause small little tremors in the ground. He wasn't really going to use his Qi, but he at least wanted to make it look like he was going to. He too would drop his weapon to the ground. He didn't really need it. He just thought it would be fun.

"What do you think David? Let him use his tricks and see if that evens things out a bit?"

He wasn't closing in yet. Rules changed.

Levi's eyebrow raised as he realised what he had done, a bashful expression on his face. He should have realized that the understanding was no Qi since he already had the use of his items. He looked to the two of them as he spoke, a small chuckle emenating from behind his words.

"Sorry guys, it was reflex, I can refrain from using my Qi if you wish....I'm thouroughly enjoying myself, with or without it. "

As Mathew caused tremors, he would grin.

Wind would scream around him in a cyclone, whipping his hair about, tearing at his clothes. Nothing damaging for them- hell, they would barely feel a brush against their skin. It was just for effect.

"You know I prefer Talent and Strength- but we can do as he likes."

When the male spoke, his estimation of him remained unchanged. He didn't consider his reconciliation as fear, more of a courtesy. He liked that, despite the mans eagerness, he still had a certain respect for those he was fighting. David liked that. The wind around him would vanish outward into nothing more than a gentle breeze. He would look at Matt before pointing with his chin at Levi.

"Your turn."

And by that, David meant it was Mathews turn to lead an attack, While David would pull follow up. They could fight in unison, perfectly, David was sure. But David wanted to leave half a second or so between them, so the man could fight back well. If they attacked at the exact same time? Well...

Things would get ugly.

And likely hospitalized.

Mathew didn't say anything this time, but would just spring in to action. Rushing in from the back he dropped low for a sweep kick. He figured that David could go high while he went low. And since he was taking a slightly lead by acting first it was unlikely that David would just copy his move.

Levi reacted immediately as Mathew went in for the low blow. He knew he would be cutting it close and depending on what David did, he would pay for what he was about to do. Levi's feet left the ground via simply picking them up as jumping was not an option. His left leg would then strike out, sending a toe kick directly at Mathew's face. This position left him more or less helpless to whatever David had in store for him, all he could do was defend as he brought both arms up in front of him and braced for the imminent attack from the other Dragon.

David would, as Mathew attacked, slip in behind Levi and lurch forward as the kid would kick out. His arms would come up and attempt to latch Levi in a full nelson mid attack. The kid would, if taken, suddenly become a stable punching back for the earth Dragons pleasure. Sure, he would still be able to attempt kicking, but It would destabilize his center of gravity, and make it difficult to get any force behind them.

Levi's head turned as his kick went out, and feeling his center of gravity shift, grabbed David's hands, locking his fingers into the Storm Dragon's to delay the inevitable. He pulled down as hard as he could for leverage and threw his hips around to compensate for the lack of power, turning the kick into more of a roundhouse.

Shit....I knew it wouldn't take long for them to sync up....

Levi could immediately feel David's strength advantage as he began to lose his hold on David's hands as his grip finally slipped and the full nelson was applied. The best thing he could do was to utilize his position as much as possible. He locked his arms with David's and grabbing his forearm. He used this leverage to lift his hips as he bent his knees to bring his leg's in front of his torso, ready to defend with them. While not as versatile as his arms and hands, his legs and feet were certainly better than nothing though he knew he wouldn't be able to hold himself up forever. He raised his head as much as possible and watched Mathew with determination in his eyes as his adrenaline rose and his heart sped up.

"Bring it on!"

And once again he took the kick, his face started to throb, but it was no matter. David had him now and it was pretty much game over for Levi at this point, unless he pulled something off.

"Sure."

He moved in, his arms shooting out to try and grab Levi's legs as they were curled up in front of his torso. Should he grab them he would push them apart and slip in between his legs. kinky

Getting close he gave Levi a wink and a grin before he slammed his forehead in to Levi's face. He loved headbutts.

Levi watched as Mathew came in and began the headbutt. He really didn't like the idea of challenging a head butt from the earth dragon, but he literally had no other options available. He tilted his head down to meet Mathew's headbutt head on, but with no real force behind it, he knew he was merely mitigating damage.

"Gah!"

His vision blurred and his head throbbed. Concussion? No, but certainly a throbbing headache for a while. He slowly went limp and relaxed, now dangling on David's arms. He might have been able to fight in this condition, but not at an effective level. As his vision cleared as he looked at Mathew with a smile, a small cut from the headbutt bleeding slowly down his forehead.

"That....was fun.....good thing you guys used those swords huh? hehe"

He chuckled as the throbbing started to go down, the light in the area slowly rejuvenating him. He turned his head to look back at David.

"Okay, the room stopped spinning, I can get off now right?"

He was full of jokes for some reason, perhaps it was because this fight was the most fun he could remember having for a long time or perhaps it was the headbutt, he didn't know and he didn't care. Smile fading, Levi looked at Mathew inquisitively.

"So.....you mentioned something about a drill instructor?"

his forehead hurt a little bit, but it wasn't bad at all. His bones were pretty much hard as bedrock and he was used to shrugging off pain. Besides, he was braced for it with the headbutt. He waited for Levi to finish talking before he glanced back at David with a shrug.

Instead of saying something right away though Mathew would just twist his body to put his weight on his left leg which slid behind him as he raised up his right leg to shoot it in to Levi's gut. Just his way of saying that he had noticed that the counter attacks focused almost entirely on Mathew. After the kick his leg would lower and he would run his right hand through his hair like nothing had happened.

"Personally I think he would be good for the job. Didn't back down, held his own well enough. Better than most would have, and he knows what he is doing. The reputation seems to have been earned."

He was speaking pretty much to David. Levi didn't have much of a say in this as far as he was concerned.

"Thoughts? Concerns?"

Again, to David.

David, if Matts kick landed, would release Levi and let him sag forward, should he wish to hold his stomach from the pain. He would look down at him.

"I'll be honest, with no offense intended."

He looked back up at Mathew.

"He is weak, compared to us. Though I understand most are. He has talent, a high potential and a willing mindset. My only worry is his loyalty. As I understand, he used to fight Dragons, and defeated them with pleasure. Of course, I understand I did the same, at one time, but I always held loyal to the Dragon Ideal, even if I didn't agree with you or Leon in your perspectives. Can we say the same for him?"

He would glance back at Levi.

"I'm willing to vote yes, so long as his direct supervision is taken up by you. That way, if he fucks up, I can shrug and say 'Mathew vouched for him.'"

A grin.

"But you agree with our perspectives now?"

That was an interesting little implied fact. He would tuck that away for later, no matter what David answered. His eyes flicked back to Levi and he would blow a burst of breath out to push his bangs up out of his eyes as David said Mathew would need to supervise him. Passing the buck.

"Works for me, worst case is he turns traitor and I kill him."

Worst case.

He shrugged.

"I agree with killing Barker. Your perspective is a referral to mindset, and we both know there are parts of each other we dislike. Whats important? You fight Barker, so do I. Once he is dead, then me and you can discuss our individual perspectives."

Yeah, discuss. With fists, most Likely.

"My point was that I don't know him, so I cant say I trust him. Its an important role to put someone in. But im damn glad to let him do it- now we can focus on the front lines."

Levi clutched his stomach after Mathew's stomach blow, it was obvious Mathew caught on to his strategy to Survive David while attempt to take Mathew out. He spat out a little blood before staggering to his feet, his sense of balance and vision coming back into focus. He allowed the two named Dragons to discuss his qualifications, smiling at the votes yes and understanding David's distrust, he didn't trust him either as he had just met him today. He gave a slight bow to them both as he accepted the title.

"I thank you...you won't be disappointed."

Levi looked to David, his steel eyes meeting David's own if he looked back. He didn't expect to earn the man's trust in one day, but he did want to try to aleviate the Storm Dragon's concerns.

"Well, I can honestly say this Dragon gang is not the same gang that I fought 8 years ago.....This family is fighting on the right side of this conflict and I won't let anything happen to it....you have my word."
