He folded his arms, a bit of a smug tone threading along with his words as he gave a history lesson.

"Dragons are a lot of things to a lot of people, but in the end it's what we make it. We could call ourselves the sea cucumbers and people would be clamoring to be one too, because what we represent has value. Remember that if and when you try to become an Elder."

He said nothing until Mathew finished, letting it sink in a moment before he spoke to Levi.

"It's not meant to insinuate that I will never get to know you or trust you. But I couldn't just see a man on the street, beat on him a bit, then say I trust him, right?"

A grin.

"Besides, I'm sure you'll do fine. If you don't, Matt will beat the shit outta you, and I always like watching him get all smashy."

Levi nodded with a small smile, he was glad the distrust was nothing personal and he could respect a man who's trust had to be earned. He rubbed his arm that was still a little sore from when David kicked it.

"No worries, the only Dragons that might die by my hands are the ones that can't hack it."

Levi let out a quiet chuckle as a loud gurgle escaped his body, his hand covering his stomach again. A sheepish grin spread across his face as he looked to David.
