Test your might (Levi/David)

[Mathew Amtrum]

Mathew had sent a messenger to both David Blaze and to Levi, one of the new recruits. He didn't know if David had met the Dragon Slayer yet, but he was about to. Mathew wanted to really test his mettle, and if he was worthy then he could think of no one better to forge the Dragons in to a true army. A man that could kill a Dragon, who was able to stand up to Mathew in a fair fight. He was even able to make Leon break his one apprentice rule. He was obviously something.

Mathew paced in the courtyard area of the hotel he was waiting at. Two stone swords over his shoulder. His items of power folded neatly to the side. He had no intention of using them in this battle. He wanted to see what Levi could do against him and Blaze in their natural forms.

[Levi Kayamei]

Levi finished packing his dufflebag after a short training session as the messenger came in. Without looking, Levi addressed the man as he had felt him coming for a while, he had made it a point to know those in his organization. He held out his hand expectantly as he stood up, slinging his bag over his shoulder.

"Thank you..."

Levi opened the letter, quickly read it, then handed it back to the messenger. Levi walked outside and began to make his way to the hotel, wondering what Mathew had in store for him.

"Curious....."

As he walked into the hotel, he saw Mathew and nodded in greeting with a slight smile, taking notice of the stone swords, electing to say nothing, but wait patiently, deciding his arrival was acknowledgment enough for the moment.

[David B.]

David landed lightly on the roof, just above the hotel, looking down at Amtrum before walking off the edge into the courtyard, slowing just before impact and letting his feet lightly touch the floor. He would pick his ass a moment before giving the "Whats up" chin gesture to Amtrum, looking around.

"You have a shitty taste in training places. I like this hotel...they have good waffles."

David only assumed they were gonna fight, considering Mathew was stripped down and lookin' curious. He wanna go another round?

Fine by him.

"So, we here to scrape elbows, or what?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Why do you think I chose it? No powers so the hotel should be fine. After we can have waffles."

He tossed David a sword giving both him and Levi a nod. He twirled the sword in his own grasp, adjusting it just slightly with his power to help with the weight and balance of it.

"Have you met Leon's second apprentice? Levi the Dragon Slayer. He killed my namesake."

He said with a smug grin. He was going to let that sink in for David right now. Not only did this guy kill the Earth Dragon, but he made Leon break his own rules. In the many years Mathew had known Leon, he never took more than one student on at once. He would just wait for now. Let them get introduced before they moved on.

[Levi Kayamei]

Levi looked at the Storm Dragon and gave him a bow of the head as he introduced himself.

"Kayamei, Levi...and you are?"

Levi's blood started to heat up as the anticipation of another match with Mathew, thought this other person seemed stronger yet, though after surviving his bout with Leon, he was not afraid, only anxious.

[David B.]

David turned and looked at Levi, holding the sword Mathew had given him.

"Ah. I see."

He would nod at Levi.

"I am David Blaze, the Storm Dragon."

Killed the last Earth Dragon, eh? Well now...this might just be fun! He would take off his coat, as well as his swords, setting them in a pile a few feet from Mathews own, before turning back and grinning and speaking to Mathew.

"I'm guessing we're gonna toughen him up?"

"I figure we can give him a run, and if he does well against the two of us we might have a new Drill Instructor for our men."

He shrugged and started to split from David, bringing his sword up. The goal was to flank Levi, one Dragon on each side of him. He would need to keep his wits about him.

"Thoughts?"

[Levi Kayamei]

Levi took a deep breath, his face stoic as he looked at his new opponents, holding out his left hand, open and palm up while his right hand rested near his forehead, palm out, his body turned sideways like a horse stance. He slowly shook hsi head in response to Mathew's question.

"None.....ready when you are."

[David B.]

David shrugged.

"Fine by me, so long as he's worth the effort."

David moved as Mathew did, and once they were on either side of him, he would lunge forward as though to attack, but leap to the side- he was the distraction. Hopefully Mathew would get the hint and attack at the same moment.

Plus, attacking at the same time: If Levi moved, they might hit each other. Just not worth that risk.

[Mathew Amtrum]

He did get the hint and moved forward, his dulled stone sword sweeping low. His target was the back of Levi's legs. Bring him down to the ground.

[Levi Kayamei]

Levi's eye caught on quickly as the two Dragons came in, waiting for just the right moment, making sure to keep his weight centered and moving. Levi watched as David shot to the left but kept his eyes on Mathew, tracking the Storm Dragon by his Qi. As Mathew's sword came down, Levi hopped forward, allowing it to pass under him, shooting his right leg out to his jaw as he planted his left foot back on the ground. Using his senses more than his eyes would be the deciding factor in this match.

David would, as mathew struck, move forward and swing his sword for Levi's side while he was attempting to kick Mathew, intent on sending this Dragon Slayer into the dirt.

[Mathew Amtrum]

Mathew was pretty committed to the attack so the kick would hit him square on in the jaw. He took a step back, moving his jaw back and forth. It hurt, but that was good. He liked it, the guy could hit.

He wasn't going to let up though. David was attacking him and Mathew would try to keep the pressure on. Shifting and bringing the blade around in an attempt to slam right in to his side. Kidney height.

[Levi Kayamei]

His opponents were pouring on the pressure, but this was definitely Levi's forte given his marital art. David's strike came in far too fast for him to counter, but a defence was better than nothing. He tucked his left arm in, taking the blow to upper arm, sending him flying but reducing the damage and being thrown away from Mathews attack. Levi hit the marble floor and slid to the wall with a thud, immediately getting up, his arm hurting, but not injured.

Good....they don't seem to have their attacks lined up just right....not yet anyways....gotta keep the heat up.

Levi closed the distance between them quickly, he charged right for Mathew, knowing that David was the larger threat and he needed any edge he could get. He stopped on his left leg using the momentum to lean his body forward and lifting his trailing right leg off the ground for power, launching a fierce straight to Mathew's face with his right, making to sure to line it up with his field of view to make it more difficult to judge the distance. This stance looked off balance, but it was a deception made for defence and offense.

David grunted- guy blocked it?

Not bad.

David grinned, tossing the sword aside. His eyes flashed as he moved forward to intercept. Using the weapons, for David, was good to start with, but his opponent was unlikely to stay still and they had more of a chance of hitting themselves then him.

So, bare knuckles it was. His favorite.

He brought up his left foot, aiming a sharp forward kick to the front of Levi's right knee. He used his own leg shorthandedly- meaning he just lifted his leg and shot the kick out using his knee. A quick snapping motion before he would attempt to replant it.
