Making the team (Any Dragonling/open)

[Levi Kayamei]

Levi needed to find 5 dragonlings to bring with him on his mission and currently, he could only think of three that were options. He had sent several his messengers out to deliver offers to come along on the mission to any dragonlings they could find. Now he waited in the old gym behind the Peace Cafe at mid-afternoon, hoping he would get a response from at least five. He leaned against a wall, a book in one hand and his other hand in his pocket.

Rai got Levi's message and hesitated for a moment wondering if it would be a good idea to even go since last time he was invited he had acted stupidly. But after a moment of deliberation he decided that after talking to his uncle he might better be able to help, Rose would come along just doing her duty to protect Rai but Rai made her promise to leave if he had asked. She reluctantly agreed.

Rai would show up at the assigned meeting spot and see he was the first one there.

"Hey... So, uh, whats going on now? More training..."

[Aryn Valcoph]

"Pssst. I'm at your meeting place, snatchin' your Dragons. I call Kazuya~"

Aryn leaned up to whisper riiiiight in Levi's ear. He wasn't the only one with that idea!

"...wait what's this~~?"

Aaaaand she found his earring. Oh shi--was that a nibble? Maybe. But she definitely reached up and gently brushed her finger against it!

[Kyrie Blaze]

There was a tricksy little Hobbit in the immediate area. Nobody could see her, but fortunately for Levi, he didn't need to see her to know where she was.

[Kazuya Hikari]

A dull thump could be heard from somewhere out front of the old gym everyone assembled so far was in, followed by Kazuya striding in through the entrance, dressed in full gear, except this time, he had his helmet held underneath his arm, as opposed to wearing it.

"I got your message."

He'd take up a spot up against the wall the entrance was located at, his free hand playing with the flame in his hand, the glow illuminating his facial features up. Paradigm Kazuya much?

[Jackson]

"Hey." Jackson entered, gave Aryn a nod,leaned against the wall. He had his baseball bat in its sheath across his back.

[Levi Kayamei]

The corner of Levi's mouth curled up as Aryn whispered in his and he shook his head at the idea that Aryn wouldn't catch him trying to snatch up all the talent. It worked out better this way though, it made more sense to have two strong teams and besides, it wasn't a competition. He spoke to Aryn softly as he moved his head away as she flicked his earing.

"I supoose it works out better this way, we should both get a good team.....and since I am on my own team, you can have Kazuya, though I feel bad for whoever you run into."

He scanned their potential recruits slowly, having a pretty good idea of their capabilities already from a previous training session, he was certain they would all pass, but he had to make sure.

"As the invitation you were given stated, Aryn and myself each need 5 dragonlings to help on a mission. This mission is for us to take Culver city for the Dragons and set up a base of operations there."

Levi paused to let that sink in before continuing.

"Now.....I personally don't like recruiting a team unless I know their abilities first hand and I'm sure they can work together as a team. I've seen your capabilities, but my exposure to them has been limited and I want to know exactly what I have to work with."

Levi was indeed using this as another opportunity for the younger Dragons and himself to grow as a group, but he was not lying when he said this was a test, he wanted no surprises when mission time came. He turned his head at Aryn with a smirk, hoping she would be game for some action.

"Hope you came ready for a workout..."

His steel eyes shifted back to the others again.

"The idea is simple, you will all use teamwork and the best of your ability to best me....and since Aryn has decided she would like to test you as well, she and I will work as a team....sound simple enough?"

He looked at Kazuya apologetically with a small smile as he took note of the powerful Qi emenating from him. He had not expected a veteran to answer his call and it kinda threw a wrench in his plans.

"Now...I dunno what to do with you....I can tell that you don't need much training.....I may just have to test you out another time....no....wait....what if you tested all of us? It would allow all of us to work together and you might even get a good workout....what do you think?"

[Aryn Valcoph]

"Gives a whole new meaning to the term 'fighting fire with fire'."

She dropped her hand to his shoulder and dropped her chin gently on top of that...leaning down just a little. She did straighten to look at Jackson and lift her chin.

"'lo."

With Levi's little quip, Aryn flashed a wildfire grin at him. When was Aryn ever not game for some action?

"...works for me, either way~"

[Kazuya Hikari]

With the last of their rag-tag team entering, Kazuya would put out the flame he had been playing with in his hand before donning his helmet and casually folding his arms across his chest as he listened to Levi's explanation. Training, makes sense, though based on the power levels Kazuya had gotten from everyone in the room... training was kind of the last thing he needed. Seeing Levi look at him apologetically with a small smile, he was about to wave Levi's unnecessary apology off and offer to head off, only to slowly smirk at his suggestion.

"...When do you want to begin?"

Jackson inwardly was dreading this fight, but on the outside he was as calm as ever. He put a hand on the grip of his Bat.

And winked at Aryn. This is gonna be great he thought darkly.

"In here?" Jackson asked Levi. He looked around, trying to see what he could use for cover, as well as weaponry.

[Levi Kayamei]

Levi smiled at Kazuya's indulgence, holding up a finger.

"As soon as we come up with our game plan."

Levi motioned for them to all come in as he looked at Jackson then at Kazuya.

"No I think not, but we can make our plan here. Hey Kazuya, mind stepping out while we converse? We'll just have this match outside if that's okay?"

They needed a basic strategy at least. Kazukya over powered them individually, but if he was forced to constantly adapt to different powers and styles, it might make him slip up. This wasn't about winning, it was about executing a plan and succeeding. Levi spoke softly as the group came in.

"Given his strength, I'd say the best chance we have is timing our attacks to take advantage of opening he will leave when dealing with each of us. We need to vary when we use hand to hand and when we use our qi. This will keep him guessing and increases the odds of a mistake. Jackson, your qi....I've never seen it, what can it do?"

[Jackson]

Jackson stayed leaning against the wall, then pushed off it as Kazuya left. He walked over towards the group, "You saw a bit of it when we sparred last time." he told Levi, referring to the smokey wisps. "I've been trying to improve it since then."

He grabbed what he could, formed it into an inky black ball and Hadouken'd it towards a punching bag.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

Rai smiled at seeing Jackson use his Hadouken smoke ball again.

"Well this should make things interesting to say the least. What kind of plan do you have in mind?"

Rose would sit off to the side fiddling with her sword hilt. She wasn't a part of this team and since Rai didn't seem to be in any life threatening danger she was content to sit out.

"Um....More peace?" Jackson quipped.

[Kyrie Blaze]

...Kiyr jumped a ride in Jackson's shadow!

If he got close enough to cross shadows with Levi, the sneaky blonde would shift into his.
