"It would noramally, but honestly, i see a current predicament that needs solving. if i was to be mad at you for 'causing' this would that really accomplish anything? I'm sure if barker took over the world, he was going to do it with or without you or anything your people did. If he is really THAT evil... Plus if you did not resist how much further ahead would barker be? That thought alone scares the hell out of me." Fear stuck saburo's eyes as he suddenly looked straight forward.
Oh no...What if he really IS that evil? what could a group of rag tag semi-militaristic people truly accomplish? what could we do against someone so great and powerful? unless...unless each of us contributes together! if we all cooperate as a team, and we all work hand in hand, Maybe, Just maybe....we could have a shot at it....Just maybe.....
Saburo's eyes soffened and looked back to Delilah. "Yes i'm an old fool, but up until a couple years ago i was studying with generals, generals who had been in desert storm, operation iraqi freedom, thats where most of my Geurilla warfare training was learned, from all the things that happened in operation iraqi freedom. So to answer your question, the american government, and some of canada's and mexico's. However i leave it completely up to you to see if my training is worth anything or not."

She nodded her head gravely, still intent on asking questions.
"So. You've killed before, have you?"

"Regrettably so, my father was ruthless. he took volunteers from local prisons from guys who had earned life sentances. gave them an option to face me in hand to hand combat. if they killed me, they got set free, if i killed them....i earned the right to eat that week. Now i only kill either when someone commits a serious offense to the law that was, or if my life is in danger." Sab said answering delilah's question.

Same expression. Same mild skepticism.
"And what would you term as a 'serious offense', exactly?"

"Theft, rape and murder are good examples" Saburo stated honestly.

"Yes, I believe I mentioned that already," she nodded with a small smirk.
"And? How would you go about determining guilt??"

"According to what i've been instructed by what you say, is what will determine those who offend's guilt. Your word, My Law." Saburo said respectfully.

"That wasn't my question."
"On the field, your judgement might be the only thing you can make on the fly. What qualifies as a judgement in your eyes? As a punishment? As a crime?"

"A judgement, is to determine if someone is guilty or not based on the current state of affairs taking place; a punishment is receiving an adverse consequence designated for the commitor of a crime usually given by the judger, if not then by happenstance, or fate; A crime is an action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by law." Saburo stated mechanically. These words were ingrained into him by his teacher.

Her eyes narrowed again and an eyebrow arched in an unamused manner. Her fingers began to drum on the work table. Sarcasam, huh? Did he think he was funny?
Strike. Two.
"You didn't answer my question. And i am running out of patience." she said in a voice like ice.

"To interpret my sensei, a judgement is something that you make last second that can either save your life, or end it; a punishment is what is given to you, should your judgement be wrong, or what is given to your enemy or opponent should your judgement be right." Saburo reached his right hand up and touched the scar that was across his left eye. "lastly, a crime is what got you and your opponent to have an encounter in the first place, it's because what he or she views as right is different from what you view as right" Saburo replied.

Delilah almost slammed her head on the desk in frustration. Instead, she just closed her eyes and grimaced for a moment, counted to ten, and try to get the little vein to stop from popping along her temple.
"I don't care what your sensei taught you; I care what YOU think!
"What, in your mind, determines a crime and a punishment?"

"That was my interpretation, not my sensei's, can you perhaps elaborate on the question Ms. First?" Saburo asked respectfully.

Again, planting her forehead on the worktable was very tempting. She bore with it, however. It was a feasible question. And perhaps she did need to elaborate...
or so help him, GOD she didn't know what she would do...
Her eyes moved across the room to Sergei, who was staring resolutely at the wall and trying not to laugh, by her estimation. She scowled at him before looking back to Saburo.
"Specifics. I ask you for specific crime and the punishments you would deem acceptable. Also, how would you go about determining a person's guilt?"
Could she make it more plain? She wasn't sure she could. Delilah got lost in her thoughts as she tried to find a simpler way of explaining.

"Guilt is determined by what is percieved. For example: If i see someone start to attack another person, i know they are guilty of assault, and therefore should recieve a punishment of death. Any crime that potentially has the ability to threatens someone's life, i.e. theft, probably of food or water, assault, murder of course, grafitti, for example on that one, tagging someone's house as a berker establishment, could result in getting that house blown up with innocent people inside of it, the person who tagged the building should be sentanced to death. Life, because of what i now know is at stake, is to precious to let rouges threaten. And my judgement, should, if you allow me to fight by your metaphorical side, be above reproach. I am not too old to learn, i promise you. I am very intelligent and i can already tell, even this discussion i am having with you, is forcing me to learn, and i respect that Ms. First. I can only assume that the Crows, being a military instillation, have a training process to go through, that i'm sure i could learn more from. The way you are talking to me makes me believe that you must be one of the best teachers in The Crows. So, ask me any crime you think i would come across, if that's ok with you, of course, and i will tell you a befitting punishment, if i am wrong, i don't want to be told the right answer, i want to learn the right answer, i want to know why the punishment is what it is, what the purpose is, what the reasoning is. And that, i believe, will make me a better resource for you and yours to use accordingly, to how you see fit."
Saburo was still sitting down at this point with a soffened look at delilah, the tone in his voice was sincere, authentic, respectful, and not the least bit sarcastic. Delilah must be the smartest person he's come across so far, and he wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to learn from her, so he would try to convince her, by answering her questions, why he was fit to join the ranks of the crows.
