Emily walked along the hallways, sighing every few seconds. Honestly, ever since she got back, she hoped that she'd finally be able to join some sort of athletic club, or something similar. Right now, she was stumped.
How in heaven's name would she be able to join the swimming club? Well, she'd been able to get into the pool and practice with Layla's help; Layla was a new teacher though, and still had limited power over the tenured employees.
"Aye," she said, looking at a map some student had sketched out for her. Apparently, Emily had no idea where the Faculty Room was. Were they all hiding from her? "Teachers, teachers... where are you when I need you?"
She looked around, map in hand at the newer areas of PHS259, hoping to spot a teacher she can talk to about the athletic clubs.

With the varsity captain M.I.A., the school's sports organization fell to a standstill. Teams stopped showing up for practice, games were missed, nearly disappearing all together. School staff had discussed this absence of activity on and off, losing interest. Some had turned to Marina Cassidy, looking for advice. She was was student extracurriculars advisor. Dances, fundraisers, small clubs, she was all over that...but sports?
Ms. Cassidy walked out of the teacher's lounge at the end of the hall, jotting something down in the clipboard in her hand. A school fund raiser was coming up and she was fixing the details before setting it into action.
'Teachers, teachers...where are you when I need you?'
"Hmm?"
The art teacher looked up curiously, spotting a girl wandering around with a piece of paper in her hand. She looked a tad lost. With one last jot on the clip board she lowered it slightly to address the girl as she approached. Familiar, this girl looked familiar...from her art class. Emma, Emily, or something like that, the girl with the rose.
"Is there something I can help you with?"

"Is there something I can help you with?"
Emily blinked and turned to the approaching teacher. It was Ms. Cassidy, her Art teacher. Well, it was nice to have someone familiar come up to her right now. Basically, she WAS lost.
New building, new place, new teachers, and basically just a student who only spent 3-5 months on here, not counting her absence from japan.
"Um, Ms. Cassidy..." She looked around, "Would you happen to know if there's any adviser for the sports clubs ... or a varsity captain around?"
Emily ran a hand through her hair, obviously scared about this social contact. "... anou... I was hoping to join the swim club, or the track and field club if there was none. I've been practicing, but when I ask people when the varsity would meet people just laugh at me and never give me a straight answer..."
Well, that was it... basically. Emily sighed in relief after she trailed off. She did it; she talked to someone calmly without the absolute need to kill someone. Guess despite how ugly medicine could be in the hospital she was in when she was in Japan, it still was pretty good.

"The varsity captain hasn't been around for some time I'm afraid."
Marina frowned, thinking, poising the non-writing end of the end against her chin. What would they do for the kids? Gym class only did so much, some kids actually liked participating in sports. Would she want to coach? It would have to be something she would bring up in a staff meeting.
"I'll have to bring it to the board, but in the meantime, if you get a petition or something together to see exactly who wants to play what and bring it to me, I may have an answer for you. I can't promise anything though."
She clicked her pen, writing in the corner of the paper she had on her clipboard. A note to herself to do just that.
"I would say, come see me next week. We'll see how many want to participate in sports, and what the board says, okay?

"The varsity captain hasn't been around for some time I'm afraid."
This piece of news disappointed her. Actually, she was really very excited to join some sports - or rather just longed for some of the things she did back in her school in Japan.
"I'll have to bring it to the board, but in the meantime, if you get a petition or something together to see exactly who wants to play what and bring it to me, I may have an answer for you. I can't promise anything though."
There was a promising answer. "Right, a petition." she made a mental note: Make a petition for Sports clubs.
"I would say, come see me next week. We'll see how many want to participate in sports, and what the board says, okay?"
Emily nodded in understanding. Well, roaming around the campus to look for people who wanted to join sports clubs too wasn't really the best idea - if you wanted to save face for graduation and not be deemed some sort of geek or something.
"Yes, Ma'am." She said, "I guess I'll go make that petition, but what should I put on it?"
Well, she WAS new to this. Emily never wrote petitions before, more or less even persuading people about something.

"Students names, sports they would like to see. Basically almost like a census with signatures."
Marina shrugged, jotting another note down. She didn't exactly know what to tell her. Ms. Cassidy was only one person, and could probably coach a team in her spar time afterschool. But shw asn't going to hold 500 different teams, that was just ridiculous. If she could see the majority of who wanted to do what, and show that students did actually want to have their sports back, she would do what she could to see it through.
It was actually the School Captain's job to assign pillars, and Miss Park hadn't seen it fit to fill the position just yet, but then again, she never knew what was going on in the girl's head, and neither did most of the population. A bundle full of mysteries, that girl, but Marina would see to coaching a team if the student populace expressed interest.
"Like I said, get back to me in about a week and I'll see what I can do. By the way, excellent artwork in class the other day. Very insightful."

Emily blushed at the compliment and nodded, "I'll see you next week then, Ms. Cassidy. Thanks for the help."
She then walked away, hoping that she'll be able to find people who share her enthusiasm for this sports club idea... or find the darned Varsity Captain and kick his ass for being away for so long.
The girl yawned as she disappeared from Ms. Cassidy's view, walking down the stairs and heading out for some fresh air before heading to the library and formulating her petition.

Well, today is turning out to be an uneventful day, Masaru thought to himself, hmm, maybe I should join a club or something so I have something to do on days like this.
The real secret of patience is to find something to do in the meantime.
this quote flashes through Masaru's mind. Hmm, maybe I'll check out the library, find a good book.
As Masaru walked down the aisles of the library, looking for something to do, Masaru finds himself staring at someone who is diligently working on her project. The question is, what? Controlled by his thirst for knowledge, Masaru quickly becomes obsessed with finding out what this person is doing.
I often regret that I have spoken; never that I am silent.
This quote comes to Masaru's mind as he begins walking up to her, planning on asking her what it is she is working on. Instead, Masaru watches for a few moments. Finally, Masaru breaks the silence by starting a conversation.
"Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you could tell me what it is you are working so hard on? It seems interesting, oh, by the way, I am Masaru, nice to meet you."

(o________o did I not finish this thread already? DX)
Emily sighed, so much work to do. She better get this petition done before the next class so she could have it signed by tomorrow.
"Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you could tell me what it is you are working so hard on? It seems interesting, oh, by the way, I am Masaru, nice to meet you."
Emily looked too much in thought and concentration to notice the guy much. "A petition." she said, glancing up at him a bit... it seemed a little awkward that he'd let go of his name so suddenly, and he wasn't even asked to.
... and heck, he was quite impolite to just disturb someone who was obviously working. Emily sort of took this greeting with some hostility. "Name's Emily."

-OOC: heh, sorry thought the "hoping that she'll be able to find people who share her enthusiasm for this sports club idea" meant it was still running-
Masaru, silenced by Emily's cold tone, was wondering what he could do to fix this situation he has brought himself into. Quick, think!
I often regret that I have spoken; never that I am silent.
This is what happens when you don't listen to your own teachings, which brought another to his mind
The most valuable thing I have learned from life is to regret nothing.
"sorry, I think we got off on the wrong foot, I was bored and have nothing to do and was wondering if I could help you in any way, anything to cure my boredom."
After saying this, Masaru quickly regrets because she could just ask him to 'do her a favor' and leave, thus ending the conversation, But, it could also get him to help in someway with the petition.

(OOC: If you want, we can have this develop into a fight? ;P -ish actually pretty bored-
If you're not up to it, just post up and I'll have Emily take a chill pill. Literally. XD)
"sorry, I think we got off on the wrong foot, I was bored and have nothing to do and was wondering if I could help you in any way, anything to cure my boredom."
"Boredom, huh?" she said, smiling and setting aside her draft for that petition. Well, she was feeling a bit stressed lately... "Up for a little spar outside the school, hmm?"
The girl said it as if it was something she did for fun.
Uh oh.
>___>
Kari's awake. Kari was Emily's homicidal self, though quite a little more controllable now instead of just ravaging on someone alive (like that incident when she bit on the school supervisor...) she still needed to be put under check.
Well...
"I'm sure that would cure you of your boredom."

-OOC: hmm, I got an idea-
"I'm sure that would cure you of your boredom."
These words were ringing in Masaru's head. Ack, I would rather avoid fighting if I have to since my parents strictly only said to fight in self defence, Masaru quickly thinks up his alternatives.
"howabout instead of a friendly spar, we have a race, that is a way to expend energy, and neither of us get hurt!"

"how about instead of a friendly spar, we have a race, that is a way to expend energy, and neither of us get hurt!"
Emily smirked, stuffing the folder holding her petition draft into her bag. Not bad of an idea at all. "How far?" was her only reply.
Emily was a track-and-field runner a few grades back, and back then she kept fainting after a race... but now, she had been fighting and training.
Guess what?
Emily doesn't get as tired anymore! She also is a bit faster too.
But not as fast as some others in school... but good enough for a freshman.

"How far?"
This question, along with the smirk, startled Masaru. He himself is good all around at sports but wouldnt consider himself above average, just slightly. In tennis, he uses data he finds on his opponent to roughly estimate thier next move and plan several counters. before answering Emily's question, Mararu thinks things through.
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
After pondering over this quote, masaru decides to size up his opponent. Hmm, in a spar, I probably wouldnt win since she seems to have more strength than me, but I may win this race with my speed and endurance, just to make things more on my side I should pick a longer distance.
"How about one lap around the building?"

(... is it me... or are your stats like... different? o___o; Mm... nevermind.)
Emily smiled and looked at the table, still partially messed up with papers and stuff. She chuckled... finally calmed down from Kari's influence. "Mm... You don't want to fight... you want to run." she rose an eyebrow, finishing her packing. "Which means you think you're faster than me... chances are, you really are... aren't you?"
Emily closed her bag and stood, a dark smile feigning at her lips, "I'm just going to be playing your little game."
"Very well."
Emily had nothing to lose, it was probably just a small friendly race and shouldn't be much of a problem whoever loses or wins.
