Delilah just sat there looking at him. Completely still, not even blinking. Just...processing. Was he serious? About all that? She thought he was because he SOUNDED honest. Finally, she leaned forwards with a small sigh, hands resting on her knees.
"I think you had the wrong teacher," she said flatly. "Whoever showed or told you that ninjutsu is a 'dance' was wrong. Whoever told you that you have years to figure this out, was wrong."
Fast--faster than Koshiro could probably track it, Delilah's tanto would flash out of her sheath, find her hand, and then spike down to the ground as she threw it, between Koshiro's legs. Missing on purpose. All this she did with her eyes never leaving his.
"Our humanity is the most important thing we have. It's what separates us from Barker, and the other people that would try and ruin mankind even more. The way we protect that is by fighting.
"If you're not giving it your all, you're killing the very people you're trying to defend. Fighting IS crude. All warfare is. Ninjutsu teaches you the natural movements of your body and how to utilize them. If that grace and fluidity is a dance to you, than so it is. Stand."
As she said so, she would also stand and keep her hands at her sides.
"Fight me as you would a no name thug on the street. Attack."

He stood. "Give it your all? I can do that." He thought.
He took a glance in less than a second. "Nothing to grab upwards. Bleachers to the left, good for cover, machines to the right, good for ammo. No exits. hallway to the back behind Delilah in the corner to the right. 8 support pillars in the whole room, one 10 ft. behind me, one 8ft to the right of Delilah. Ready? Attack!" (I use red for in his mind and white for out loud.)
He bent his knees, and reached for his sword. Closed his eyes for half a second and took a deep breath, he opened his eyes and pushed off his feet. He would seem to glide across the floor as he drew his sword. Bringing it up to slash he did what he always did attacking a street thug, he jumped over he so that he would land behind her, ready to kick square in the middle of his attackers back.
After all Street thugs weren't that smart. When he ran straight at them they usually got so tense they couldn't move when he jumped over them and kicked them in the back. It would knock the wind out of them. At which point he usually picked them up and made a threat then they always ran away. He liked to fight, not kill. Delilah though? No she was much smarter and faster. When he was in the air just above her he twisted and landed so that he would be facing her back, He would bring up his right leg and kick her in the side. It would serve the purpose of knocking the wind out of most opponents, while keeping them close enough to use the sword on.

An eyebrow raised and her lips twitched downwards as Koshiro drew his sword. No matter.
The second he went to jump over her head, something that would be an easy feat for someone as tall as he was, Delilah's hand would shoot up into the air, strong, viselike hands aiming to clench against the flesh of his thigh. Being as he was already committed to jumpnig -- and in midair-- it would be difficult and nearly impossible to avoid this. Sweeping her left leg back to give him a place to fall into, Delilah would throw Koshiro down to teh ground, keeping a hold on his thigh to prevent him from moving. This foot would quickly come back up and attempt to stomp on the hand curled around his blade and numb the hand, if not break his fingers. Then, it would kick out, aiming to kick the blade away from him. If this was successful, this would send the blade skittering under the bleachers some ways off.
If all of this was successful, Delilah would glower down at him, draw her bowie knife, and throw it in an arc into the ground. It would hit directly beside Koshiro's head on the left hand side, adjacent to his eye.
"Dead."
Then she would let him go and let him get back to his feet. If he went to go get his sword, she would hold out a hand to stop him.
"You are too concerned with showing off. I can guarantee you that the people out there who want to fight you might also try to kill you. This is not high school. You can and WILL die.
"You must take your own life seriously, as you must take the lives of the people you protect seriously. The people you fight aren't going to take it easy on you just because you want to draw out a fight, which is foolish because there might be more enemies and now you have tired yourself. Sparring is fine; dicking around in a life or death situation is not.
"What have you learned from my attacks?"

All would go as Delilah wished except his sword. He moved his hand up just in time not to lose his sword. "I understand, but street thugs aren't all that smart." He rolled back to his hand and pushed up to his feet. Whatching his sword he would step back and get ready to attack again. A quickstep forward, then to his right. He lunged. Just outside her reach, it was true she was almost twice as fast as him, but she might not have been expec.......its Delilah. If all went well he would jump up to the pillar and push off. Straight at Delilah at top speed, he would have the sword in one hand backwards, after all he wasn't TRYING to hurt Del. If what he was trying to do worked he would grab her left shoulder using her to land. Dragging her down to her right and bringing the sword up around the right side of her body and to her neck. (behind her) If what (I) he wanted happened. He would then say "I can use my trainings along with my style. Ma'am." As he would then let go of his trainer.(If it didn't work) He would sheath the sword, and drop to his knees, his hands on his thighs. "please. I want to be as strong as you are. I want you to teach me everything. No matter what it takes." He (again if and only if) then would look up at Delilah and stare into her deep blue eyes.

A snarl found her way to her lips. Instead of responding to his attacks, she simply moved out of their way, positioning herself across and away from him. She watched as he sank down to his knees, asking her to teach him...
Delilah scowled down at the young man.
"I would teach you if you were capable of understanding what it is I am trying to tell you. There is no such thing as a regular street thug. You should treat everyone you fight as if you were fighting me, or an Elder Dragon, or a God. They very well COULD be, for all you know. Always, ALWAYS assume your opponent is better than you are.
"Secondly, you didn't answer my earlier question."
She stared at him flatly, a slightly disapproving look staring back into his violet eyes.

"If you treat everyone as your better, you run the risk of accidentally killing them."
He understood what she was trying to teach him, but he wasn't that cold. He didn't like killing people. Like how he handled that thug the day before meeting Arael. He attacked by kicking him in the back and then told him to leave. That's why he never assumed someone was better, he would have used everything. And probably would have killed the man.
"I understand your lesson, and from your attacks I gather your trying to teach me that I'm underestimating you as an opponent. I gather that my normal attacks are nothing and that against Barker I would never stand a chance. That's why I'm here Delilah." The first time he had said her name and not "Ma'am" he was serious too.
"I'm not going to kill unless I have to. Call it naive, call it stupid, but in this world we can't lose our humanity! It's all that we have left. I will learn not to underestimate my opponent, but never would I kill some harmless kid on a bad path. Would you have killed Barker as a child? Take away everything that he might have had to offer? Just to stop what he might become? Would you kill me? Just to stop what I might become? That is what I ask myself every time I go into battle. Would I kill them, just to stop them? Ma'am, everyone has the capacity to be evil! Even me, but. They also have the capacity for greatness! It is a choice that you have to make. I wont make the choice for someone unless they deserve it. Barker does. Those thugs on the street? What have they done? I want to learn from you how to be strong, but I won't lose my humanity in the process."
He was standing of course, but now he would do something he had never done. He dropped his sword, and kicked it away. Took a stance, with his right leg forward, his left foot behind his right, His right shoulder parallel to his right foot above it, the right shoulder facing Delilah, the arm at a 90 degree angle, his left hand over the center of his chest. Just like he was trained. Leaving no openings.
"You want to see what I can really do, right?" A long pause.
"Fine."

"The first rule of ninjutsu is 'do no harm'." she said resolutely. "...'Unless you mean to do harm, and then you do a lot of harm'. If someone is willing to take your life, or attack you OUTSIDE of a friendly fight situation for whatever reason, there is every risk that you will die. If you are not there to save your mother from your father's injustice, her death is also now on your hands."
She stared at him as he entered ichimonji no kamae and Delilah couldn't help but smirk and shake her head sadly, "Now I know you had the wrong teacher," she sighed to herself.
She thought it was a little funny, actually. Wasn't he once a merc? Didn't that mean he used to kill people for money, regardless of their innocence? Ironic now that he was having a moral debate with her.
The reason for that being that ninjutsu did not have forms or stances, but postures; they were positions the body moved through during a technique or set of techniques, not a fixed stance like in karate, but organic, flowing.
"For the record, Koshiro, I do not kill on a whim and nor do I condone murder. Nor do I 'accidentally' kill people'; If I am going to fight for my life I kill. I would not have killed Barker himself as a child or you, even if I knew you would become a great evil. But if you seek to harm me or to harm the lives of my family, friends, or the people I am sworn to protect--well. I would say ask the man who helped kidnap my son, but last I heard he went insane.
"Those thugs on the street could be assassins. Or very good fighters--you see a lot of that here. Don't think for a second that some ordinary gang of street thugs can't or won't overwhelm you. Don't think for a second that you're better than anyone else at anything. For every one you leave alive, how many ordinary people do you think could die by their hand because you did nothing, because they saw an easy out and begged for mercy they do not deserve only to stalk again, smarter, better? What makes you think they won't go after your family? Is it kinder to leave them bloody and broken with no medical aid or attention in times when hospitals or defunct, or is it kinder to end their suffering?
"This is war. We have the blessing of our humanity to keep us compassionate in times when others are not. But we do not have the luxury of turning a blind eye to crimes that affect the survival of another.
"If you learn under me, you will be trained how to kill and how to do it right, and also how to decide when it is and is not a good time to kill. If you wanna see what that's like, by all means; Attack."
Delilah was thrumming now with intent. Her will would fill the space around her with grim force that pushed from her core, floating about her in a foreboding wave of black anger. Her very pores leaked the promise of death and her blue eyes flashed dangerously. She stood with her hands loose at her sides in a natural posture, as though she were waiting for the bus.
And while her aura certainly gave that intent, she was not set on killing the young man.

He kept his stance, loose ready to move and not stiff. He understood everything she had said, but he was still angry, In hindsight he was probably just hungry and exhausted, thereby acting irrationally, but he was still angry.
"You seem to forget Ma'am. I know more than just ninjitsu. I trained for years."
He moved into a natural Mantis style then relaxed like Delilah then back to his original position all in one fluid motion.
"My point is, Who am I to decide when it is someones time to die? Even as a Merc, I did research on my target before killing them. I killed them to make the world better, I chose there time, and the day is coming when I have to pay karmic justice for that. I lived by a code, and I still do. What if those thugs had been assassins? They would have moved like it. They moved like street thugs. I was left on the streets for years. I know how they walk and talk and move. A trained person instantly moves differently. I'm sure you've seen it." He stood normally.
"I have taken care of myself for the last 8 years, I was dropped into nothing. With nothing but the clothes on my back. I lied, cheated, stole, killed, and ran. I have had to take care of myself for so long I've forgotten how to let others help me. On the other side of that I do everything in my power to help others." He now spoke calmly, but still a hint of reservation in his voice.
" Still doubt you brought me here for a little training and a heart to heart. You wanted to see what I could do right? " He assumed a Mantis style
Left leg forward, Crouched down his left arm fully extended out, the palm of his hand facing his opponent. His right arm at a 90 degree angle behind his left hand. Then he stood relaxed. Waiting for her to make a move. Any move she would make he would match the mirror of it. As if all he wanted to do was cancel out her moves. He wanted to see her in action before letting completely. He needed somewhere to go if...when she started to kick his ass.

Delilah sighed and shook her head. Physically, she did not care what he could or could not do. It was attitude she was looking. Holes in his understanding. Good assassins aren't obvious, can pretend to be normal, ordinary citizens, less than thugs. As a Crow, he was a soldier, first and foremost. He was supposed to kill who they told him to kill. Furthermore, he thought that knowing more than one style made him stronger, or at least, more adaptable? This was ignorant in her mind...and showed he had an incomplete understanding of all his arts.
Andhehadjustignoreherorderforhimtoattack
But he wanted her to do so. And if there was one thing Delilah was unafraid to do, it was get her hands dirty.
Delilah's stats (W/items excluding Shinju and Hiraikotsu)
Strength: 55 Dexterity: 60 Constitution: 58 Intelligence: 62 Wisdom: 53 Charisma: 54
Delilah darted forward, clearing the distance between them in two quick steps. As she neared her left fist would flicker out for a straight jab to his face, retract it before it landed (a feint) and then pivoted on her heel, swinging her body around and aiming a round-house kick for the side of his face, not pulling the speed of her strikes nor how hard they would hit, should they land.
If he insisted on darting backwards to avoid her, Delilah would chase after him relentlessly, attacking every-time she got in range with varied strikes from high to low, pressure points and bone breaking (which was likely to happen if their limbs clashed even once).

(I'm gonna pull a Yachiru)
Koshiro thought he saw a bag of peanuts on the ground and leaned down to grab it. The roundhouse would sail over his back. He disappointed at the trash he had found snapped back up. "What the hell? " He saw the look in Del's eyes and realized how silly he'd been. "Oh crap! Sorry Del!!!" He yelled as he ran away toward the door. "Of course I'll kill as I'm ordered Ma'am!" He said as he jumped and pushed off the door doing a backflip to land behind Delilah, and attempted to grab Delilah in a "Sleeper" hold.

She could only sigh internally for the exasperation she felt while again Koshiro ran away to bounce off the door frame to back flip over her head AGAIN.
It was simple for the mechanic to once again reach up, grabbing Koshiro by his hair (which at the apex of the flip would be pointed down and towards her head [and would be very hard to avoid as he committed himself to a jump and a flip) and reefed on it, pulling him down to the ground face first. As she did so, though Delilah's left knee would pop forward as he descended, aiming to bash his face on her kneecap with all of his weight behind it.

Good he had been hoping for this. Delilah was much to fast for him to catch and as for attacking her, she was his better in every way, and what she hadn't noticed is that he wasn't running for the door. It was his sword he was going for. He had it in reach and now he was right on top of her. Mostly thanks to her having her hand on his hair.
He moved his head just enough not to be hurt too much by the knee, he was deaf in one ear for a little while though. As he was now on her person he grabbed her leg, and as he got his footing he pushed forward it would either knock Delilah forward or backward, either way he was heading in the same direction, his sword. The only problem was her hand still firmly in his hair.....

As Koshiro pulled her leg forward...all that would achieve was Delilah's knee willfully buckling under the man's strange behest and plant her knee square on his turned head as she dropped her body weight ontop of it, effectively pinning him there.
One hand still in his hair, nails digging painfully into his scalp as he held him in place while he was face down (as he had been pushing her forward, this would be his position unless he somehow managed to get away from her at this point which would be made difficult by the hand in his hair), Delilah would quirk an eyebrow down at him, applying pressure to the temple.
"So what technique was that, ninjitsu or Mantis kung-fu?" Her tone was that of slightly bored mockery.
If he wanted to get away from her, he would first have to squirm out from under her knee, which would be difficult, and allow her hand to rip away a good sized chunk of his hair and scalp.

H used all his strength to punch Delilah in the stomach.

The punch landed but it, oddly would not seem to hurt the mechanic in the slightest. Indeed, it would seem as though it were more effective to punch air rather than Delilah's toned abdominal muscles.
As his fist made contact, she grasped it in her free hand and twisted the limb, locking up the wrist, elbow and shoulder, made all the more painful by the position he was in and even more[/] so by the fact that he was currently still pinned by her knee against his head AND her other hand was still gripping his hair tightly.
Now if he tried to wrench away, he could very well dislocate his arm and rip some scalp off his head. The look on her face didn't let up in the slightest. As a precaution, she lifted the knee NOT pinning his head to press into his shoulder, preventing him from lifting the other hand if it made it there.
"And how's that working for you?"
