Delilah would take the pot off the table, pouring them both a cup while pushing the cream and sugar dishes towards Mitsuki, as well as a small coffee spoon and saucer that the cup sat upon. Smiling calmly as the Asian woman with dark hair and eyes thanked her.
"No trouble." Delilah would reply as she sat back with her cup of hot, black coffee. Raising it slowly to her lips to sip--
"I came here because I was informed, upon arriving in California, that you were the future of the allied forces."
Delilah would pause mid sip, sharp blue eyes flicking up to Mitsuki as if she had made a loud noise. She would stare at the woman until she spoke again, her expression...unreadable. Perhaps confused...?
"...that is quite the hefty title you've got there, Miss Black."
The woman across from her smiled kindly and Delilah relaxed. She offered Mitsuki a small, humble little smile...and set down the coffee cup with a light clink on the saucer.
"That it is." she agreed softly.
Delilah put both her elbows up on the table and leaned forward slightly, hands folded neatly in front of her. She tilted her head slightly to the side. "Might I ask who might have said that about me?"
Because, honestly, it could be anyone that she knew who thought highly of her. Marcus came to mind, for instance. "Unfettered" might say such a thing as well, but it was clear Mitsuki hadn't met up with him yet. It could have been one of the Dragons...but she doubted it. They were often concerned about needing no one else but themselves; letting someone else assume an important role? They might agree, but not outright, not if those exact words were used.
So, she was genuinely curious. There weren't many who would refer to her as such; she certainly didn't. She was just a woman with a desire to bring the fallen people of the world together to rise against Barker, same as everyone else in Crows.
Delilah would wait, looking politely puzzled, for Mitsuki's response.

Coffee. She added the appropriate amount of cream and sugar that would fulfill her sweet tooth desires. Mmm. How long had it been since she had coffee? A couple weeks, now? Chicago was a long way away from California.
Del's reaction to Tsuki's comment.
Hm.
"I'm sorry- that is a question I am unable to answer."
Unable, or unwilling? Mitsuki was not one to lie; she was unable because she was bound to her promises. She was..apologetic, though, because of the hospitality she was receiving. The first question asked, and she could not give an answer.
But Mitsuki knew Miss Delilah would come to know in time- just not from her.
If Delilah would drop the subject, then Mitsuki would go on to ask her questions...unless she had more questions of her own, to which Mitsuki would answer to the best of her knowledge.

Delilah's face smoothed over at the refusal to answer her question. The woman could have lied and said it was anyone, really. But she didn't. Chose not to. Her mind whirled with possibilities. She pushed the cacophony to the back of her mind.
"...I see," she said with a small sigh, lifting the cup once again to her lips and taking a sip. "You've certainly been busy, then. Meeting people even I don't know of."
Because she could not fathom the reason that someone she knew would want to keep something as trivial as that from her.
"So, what brings you here, Miss Park?"

Mm. Mitsuki said no such thing about Delilah meeting people she didn't know, but she wouldn't correct her because she was too busy drinking the delicious coffee Del had gotten for her. And other reasons.
"I wanted to know the status of the Crows' relationship with the Dragons and Gods."
Mitsuki had already visited members of both the Gods and the Dragons...but each side had their own story. Why was she concerning herself with such information...? Several reasons, one being genuinely curious, and another wondering how far alliances had gone...because it would be needed to destroy (...or make a dent in) Barker's forces.
She wondered...if they started seeking alliances outside California?

Delilah sat back in her chair with another small smile, if a little weary. "We are on good terms. A treaty is being made between the three of us. I am an honoured guest of the Dragons, who are allowed into our territory and access to our services as they need them, including their citizens. I am also one of the Gods, same as Mathew Amtrum, the Earth Dragon. He has a stake in Seattle as well, or so I'm told.
"Apart from that, we're just trying to gain a firm foothold in the area and drive Barker out. We know he's here and this is where he is making the majority of his experiments."

Matthew Amtrum was a foreign name, but noted that he held much importance in this fight against Barker. If he and Delilah were the only two that held this "dual" citizenship within factions...or, at least, since he was the only one she bothered to mention.
Mmm. Driving Barker out.
She wondered...if it would actually be better to have Barker in California, where he would, or could, be under surveillance? No doubt there were other places throughout this country - and others - where masses of people were gathered together in riot against Barker, but none were probably as well-developed as the factions in California.
She was ignorant of current situations- so, if driving Barker out really was the best of decisions, then...
"Why drive Barker out?"
She wanted to know. What was the bigger picture behind all of their actions? Was driving Barker out of California merely step one of the end goal?

Another blink and her eyebrows knitted together above her eyes. Why? That was...an interesting question.
"Strategic. Eliminate his forces in the area, back him into a corner, surround him with our people to take out the man himself. We're the front lines here, all of the gangs. He pretends like he's not worried about our resistance, but it's here that he's chosen to make his base." she shrugged.
"The reason I mention driving him out is because, even if the man himself is dead, there's no guaranteeing that he doesn't have a successor or generals who would take his place. When I say 'Barker' I refer to both the man and the army. Unless we go about it just so, we could be creating more of a problem for ourselves."

Mitsuki was taking quiet sips of her coffee, nodding her head every so often, understanding. The forces here were formidable, but then Mitsuki could only imagine how much more menacing Barkers' were. She didn't quite know about all his experiments, but with how he terrorized and monopolized the entire world, well.
"Are there any other alliances forming?"
She knew there had to be other factions within the state. And if Matthew Antrum had a stake in Seattle, then...
Thoughts were rolling.

Delilah sipped her coffee and gave her head a small shake. "Not that I know of. And I'm on the up and up about basically everything going on in the area."
Not to say, of course, that she didn't know things...but if there were other alliances being made, they were being made without Delilah's knowledge.
"How long have you been back in Long Beach?"

She had to recollect her thoughts on her previous escapades.
"A couple of weeks."
Maybe even longer. She had primarily been travelling at night, via foot- so however long it would take one to travel from Huntington Park, stopping by Dragon and Gods territory before cutting through Barker's to get here: Crows.
But...she planned on visiting a safe-house that Andrew had left in her care since her departure. It was in Barker's territory, but she had been going in and out of that territory since arriving, so...
That was the extent of her questions...for now.
"Do you have any questions?"
...aside from the one she had asked?

Delilah smiled over the rim of her coffee cup at the woman across from her. Did she have questions? That was like asking why the sun was shining.
"I do. What brought you back to Long Beach? Where have you been so far and whom have you spoken to? Why in particular have you come here, to see me, and while I would love to know who mentioned such a lofty title for me, I am far more interested in knowing if you believe the same. Are you interested in joining a gang in particular or are you just passing through? Have you seen what the landscape is like outside of California? Could you describe what Barker's presence is like in those areas?"
She would force herself to stop there, for the time being, and let the Asian woman speak.

Uh...those were a lot of questions, and Mitsuki would answer them in the order that they were asked. Sip of coffee, pause to recollect her thoughts, and...
"Long Beach was not my goal- Japan was; I have family there."
Hence the reason why she came to California; to grab a boat and sail on over. She knew that there were many elemental Qi users in the area and to be honest, she had been hoping to copy a water manipulator. But Japan would be put on hold, hence Japan was. As for what she was doing in California...
"In order of people I've talked to... Kazuya Hikari of the Dragons, Dionysus of the Gods, David Blaze of the Dragons, Olesya Van deBogart of the Dragons, and Shugo Yuy. I've been traveling from territory to territory, re-establishing relations with old friends."
A pause.
Whereas she didn't know Delilah personally, from what she speculated since stepping foot in Crow Territory and the answers Delilah's provided, the positions she held and the connections that she had-- Mitsuki didn't doubt that Miss Black was probably the best candidate.
"Aside from getting answers, I wanted to meet with you to let you know that I am here to support the Crows, Dragons, and Gods in their endeavors in weeding out Barker should they find themselves in need of an extra set of hands--
"--and, more specifically, I am here as support for you.
"The one that sent me here to you believes thoroughly that you are the future of the allied forces, and if I did not believe it myself, I would not be here."
She would have gone straight to "Unfettered".
"Unfortunately, I am currently not interested in joining any factions."
For now. Maybe in the future.
"Barker's presence in the Chicagoland area is not as prevalent as his presence here. If the activity levels of the Rebel groups and the interactions between the two have been the same, then I would say- in Chicago- we have the upper hand."
But this was just in Chicago and the suburbs.
The Rebel groups Mitsuki was involved with were separated into 5 different areas: R1 (Rebel 1) and R2 were in the city of Chicago, while R3-R5 were spaced out in the suburban areas. R1 was the heart of operations, to which she and her brother were a part of. Hence...the "we" in her last sentence.
"A companion and I travelled to the west primarily at night to avoid unnecessary attention, but for the most part, if the cities were empty of its townspeople, then the number of Barkers men were few."
She would sip her coffee. Wasn't sure if she answered Del's questions, or if she potentially just created more.

"Long Beach was not my goal- Japan was; I have family there."
A blink from Delilah would acknowledge the statement. By the girl's first name, she had understood that Mitsuki was at least half Japanese. But to hope for hope's sake that her family was still alive on the little island country? That was almost too much to hope for.
Nonetheless, Delilah felt herself cheering for the woman internally. Her impossible miracle had happened...who was to say Mitsuki's wouldn't?
"In order of people I've talked to... Kazuya Hikari of the Dragons, Dionysus of the Gods, David Blaze of the Dragons, Olesya Van deBogart of the Dragons, and Shugo Yuy. I've been traveling from territory to territory, re-establishing relations with old friends."
...someone had been busy. This was good, it meant that she had people who could vouch for her. In these days, the word of a close friend was worth far more than a pre-war reputation.
"Aside from getting answers, I wanted to meet with you to let you know that I am here to support the Crows, Dragons, and Gods in their endeavors in weeding out Barker should they find themselves in need of an extra set of hands--
"--and, more specifically, I am here as support for you.
Lolwhut.
"The one that sent me here to you believes thoroughly that you are the future of the allied forces, and if I did not believe it myself, I would not be here."
Delilah simply stared across the table at Mistuki, torn between being humbled by this information and DESPERATELY WANTING TO KNOW WHO SAID IT. But she remained silent for the moment, for it was clear the young woman had more to say.
"Unfortunately, I am currently not interested in joining any factions."
FOR NOW.
Delilah would lean across the table to refill Mitsuki's coffee as she finished speaking. The news about the other parts of America, even that small part, was heartening. Better luck than what they were having here.
"If you don't mind my asking, who was your companion?"
she would wait until Mitsuki answered her question before asking her next one.
"It almost sounds to me like that you were sent to me for a purpose...was there something you needed of me in particular, or of Crows?
"...I could try to get you a boat fit for travel across the sea if that was your wish."

"If you don't mind my asking, who was your companion?" "He was a close family friend," she replied. Was. A sad, small smile would twitch on her lips. A friend of Reita's, her older brother, who was to aid and guide her on this trip to California. If she was right with tracking their travels, "I lost him in Utah.""It almost sounds to me like that you were sent to me for a purpose...was there something you needed of me in particular, or of Crows?" Ah, here we go. "When I met up with Dionysus, I asked about potential alliances with factions not in California.
"Unfortunately, with him being needed in Gods territory, I took it upon myself to venture out to look and perhaps negotiate with them, whoever 'they' may be.
"...and because you are the future of the allied forces, I first wanted your permission to move as a representative."
No doubt Delilah would be unable to travel far from California. She not only had a son, but as First of the Crows, she would be needed in case things went awry. But with Mitsuki being an outsider from California, and not being in any current factions herself, she was free to roam. "...I could try to get you a boat fit for travel across the sea if that was your wish." Mitsuki's face would visibly soften at Delilah's offer. Even if it wasn't a for-sure thing that she could get her a boat, she was still...extremely thankful. ".....
"...I will take you up on that offer...in the future, if that is okay."

Delilah nodded, "That's more than fine," it gave her time to find a decent boat, and to fix it up if necessary. Being situated where they were, right near the ocean, it probably wouldn't be too hard to compile the parts she would need.
Now to learn how to fix a large boat...but that was a thought for later. She moved on to Mitsuki's former point.
"...This is a sound idea. I am quite tethered to this area and there might be more people willing to join us.
"But before I can have you speaking on my behalf, I would first like to know more about you. Please. Tell me about yourself."
She leaned back in her chair and sipped her coffee, prepared to listen.
