Both eyebrows raised, the blue stare beneath them cooly appraising.
"Emily left Militia when she and Gabriel Seran made a spin off branch in San Francisco a few years back, which was actually why I was there, to watch them. Given what you know of me, what makes you think either of us might know anything about that?"
Noting the subtle insinuation. Wondering if she could possibly share the dark secret she harboured...

She blinked, a look of confusion briefly crossing her face. Emily leaving Militia to join forces with Gabriel in San Francisco? A short, thoughtful 'huh' would escape her, furthering confirmation that the information Del just shared was new. It seemed...the more she asked about Emily, the more the girl became a stranger. First with what Kazuya shared, how she had acquired his sperm without his knowledge, and now with Delilah, how she left Militia...to create something similar...with Gabriel...? She hadn't imagined as the years had passed what the sort of woman Emily would develop into. Mitsuki always kind of thought Emily would stay the same, so it honestly shouldn't have been a surprise to hear stories that, to Mitsuki, didn't match up with the Emily she knew in the past.
"Hn...I lost contact with Emily after I left California. I assumed she was close with the members before her death."
Or at least, she thought Emily would be close to Delilah, seeing as how Del seemed to hold high esteem for Unfettered and the two seemed relatively close. Or not, because Mitsuki also thought the father of Delilah's son was Unfettered, which just kind of messes this thought process up a little more. She would dismiss the topic of Emily altogether, 'less Delilah had something to add.

Delilah scowled-- once again, not at Mitsuki, but at the very thought.
"So, you didn't hear..."
The mechanic fell silent for a time, brooding. Even now, remembering made her feel sick to her stomach and filled her mouth with the taste of bile. In a hoarse, quiet voice that was somehow sharp, she spoke.
"She is not missed by those who know her secret. She did an unspeakable thing to 'Unfettered'...one of the worst crimes another human can inflict on another," she connected eyes with Mitsuki there, the cold blue ablaze with silent anger and full of meaning that could not be escaped. "I was in prison at the time. When I found out what had happened, I was six months pregnant. I put together my resources to track and find her, to bring her to justice. The day the bombs fell, I finally located her."

Didn't hear.
Her lips formed a hard line. It was almost impossible to imagine Emily inflicting any sort of harm toward "Unfettered"...though the concept of 'love' could bring anyone to cross the line of obsession. The worst crime a human could inflict on another, and Delilah- bringing Emily to justice--
--but not "Unfettered"...?
Mitsuki's finger slowly tapped against the cup of coffee as she began to speculate. It sounded like Delilah's actions were largely her own, and wasn't a request by "Unfettered"- if that was true, then Mitsuki began to wonder if Delilah's loyalty and love went beyond the platonic, familial line? Which would make sense to her, since she thought Oliver was their child.
But, more than that, she began to think about Kaori, Emily and Kazuya's daughter. She had a soft spot for the child because in many ways, she reminded Mitsuki of when Sierre was that age. And this newfound information of Emily was not hers to tell- to either Kazuya or Kaori. Curiosity prompted Mitsuki to ask Delilah such questions, in hopes of more clarity...except that it had done the opposite. What happened to Emily? Not of her death, but what was she thinking? What brought her over the edge?
All silly musings that were easily dismissed. Let the past stay the past.
"..."
Silence swept the room for a brief moment. Mitsuki could understand Delilah's righteous anger- although Mitsuki's relationship with "Unfettered" didn't exactly run deep, the two had an extensive history and he was the one who had given her Skye, to which she would forever be thankful.
"He's lucky to have such loyalty beside him."
Her title of being the First wasn't unwarranted, and it seemed that in the area Mitsuki lacked the most- the area "Unfettered" had the most problem with- Delilah excelled. A consistency; she was always there, where as Mitsuki came and went as she pleased.
And for some reason, this thought brought a small smile on her face.

Having everything out in the open --or as out in the open as Delilah would allow ('Unfettered' could not be implicated in this: this was her burden and hers alone) -- had left the mechanic with a new perspective. The only other person she had told this to was 'Unfettered' himself, and not long after the deed was done. Now that nearly a year had passed...she was able to look back on that night with a clear mind.
She was not sorry for what she had done. As far as she knew, no one but the people who knew her missed Emily; better for her to die in their eyes as the person they knew, rather than who she had become. The death was more than justified...the girl had turned out not only as an obsessed predator, but a traitor, a backstabber. If she knew 'Unfettered' at all (and she did), she thought he might blame himself (though he never told her this; it was only her guess). She would not, could not have that. He had already been through so much and...
....
Well. It didn't matter any more. The broken trust had been avenged and Emily death had given her a modicum of retribution, however small.
Knowing this now helped to ease Delilah's weary heart.
Now all that remained was to hear Mitsuki's reaction. She was expecting, perhaps, a fight, at the very least about a dozen more questions. All deserved, if she chose to go that path...
...when instead...
"..."
"He's lucky to have such loyalty beside him."
Delilah blinked once at Mitsuki and a bright pink colour came to her cheeks as genuine surprise widened her eyes. After a moment, she turned her head away to cough distractedly into her fist.
That was...an unexpected and flattering compliment. People could call her beautiful if they wanted, or comment on her various features or skills; but the things she held dear and valued most about herself were not tangible, and thus, rarely acknowledged.
This woman had grasped the core of who the mechanic was...and praised her for it.
"Thank you...but I assure you, he has earned it." she added with a small, almost relieved smile.
"if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask."

"Ah, I do have one more question."
Alright. Why the hell not.
"Oliver... Is he Unfettered's...?"
It was genuine curiosity. Because to her it made sense. Not that it was super important to know, but it did pique her curiosity!
OOC: SOOPER SHORT, SOOPER SORRY.

Blink
Blinkblink
"That's...that's a complicated question," Delilah replied slowly. "'Unfettered' is not his biological father,...but he's been more of a father to him than his real dad."
She heaved a small sigh, passing a distracted hand over her ebony hair.
"Stu--that boyfriend I mentioned earlier, left for England shortly before I was incarcerated. He never knew I was pregnant. 'Unfettered' helped me raise him."

"Why'd he leave?"
A slight tilt to the head. Then she realized what she just asked and--
"--if you don't mind me asking, that is."
That was a surprise since she normally didn't care for the affairs of others, but this is the kind of stuff girls talked about, right?
Everyone had their little pseudo-families. Olesya raising Maddie with David, Delilah raising Oliver with "Unfettered"... Interesting.

"Had to go take care of his ailing father back in England," she sighed, "I had almost given him up for dead. He came back, though, a couple months back...took a boat across the Atlantic and walked across the States to find me."
A sad, humourless smile twisted her lips at the corners.
"We reunited, he met Oliver, and everything was good for a bit. Now, he's gone again and no one knows where he is."
She shrugged as if to indicate it wasn't bothering her, though it was...and it wasn't. She had waited four years for him to come back, and he did. Now, she knew he was alive and suddenly, he was gone again.
It pained her, but at least this time, she could let go. Both for her son's sake and for her own.
...And then a question made it's way into her brain.
"How do you know 'Unfettered'?"

She nodded her head slowly, empathetic to the feeling of a loved one's sudden disappearance. Her eyes, then, sharply flickered toward Delilah when she pretty much asked for the history of her and- hnn. She didn't really know 'Unfettered'...but Jonathan Winters, the man behind the many aliases, whom she first knew as Thrush, then Winters, then a combination of both personas mashed into one as Unfettered... Yeah.
But how they first met was probably a story not for Delilah's ears, considering the amount of esteem she had for him. She stumbled upon him brutally, savagely, taking part of unmentionable actions that were physically, emotionally, and mentally scarring to an innocent girl on the rooftop of the school. From what she observed, Winters stood for all that was 'right', 'good', 'honorable', while Thrush, the exact opposite. And from there--
"He was picking a fight on the rooftop of 259 when I had just been appointed Captain. We made a bet, where if he won I would become his slave, and if I won, he would become mine."
She would have smiled at the memory, except for the fact that the other girl who Mitsuki failed to save was now lying 6 feet under. That, and it really wasn't one of the greatest first impressions.
"He kept true to his word but him calling me 'master' was unsettling, so I let him go."
Among other reasons.
"Couple years later, he declared war on me for not keeping up with my responsibilities, and a year after that, I graduated and parted amicably with him."
That was her story, but not in its fullest. She left out a great amount of detail, but that's simply because Mitsuki was generally a private person when it came to personal affairs. Having to describe her relationship with anyone she considered close was something she wasn't used to- and even though the impression she gave Delilah was one where she and Jonathan lived lives as strangers, that wasn't truly the case. And it wasn't as if she were purposefully leaving things out (except for how they first met); if Delilah had asked about her relationship with David, Olesya, and even Kazuya, her response would have relatively been the same.

Delilah listened keenly, almost at the edge of her seat. She, truthfully, didn't know all that much about 'Unfettered' before he went under that moniker. She had only met Jonathan a handful of times prior, and 'Thrush' but once, when he went solely by the name 'Unfettered'.
...She got the sense that there were things Mitsuki wasn't telling her...but that was nothing more than speculation. What she did discern was that the woman kept her cards rather close to her chest, so it could be inferred that Mitsuki wasn't telling her everything. It also sounded like she barely knew 'Unfettered' to begin with.
...that was fine. They were all entitled to their secrets.
Smiling, Delilah got to her feet, reaching across the table with her palm extended to shake the woman's hand. "Thank you for coming by. Having you on our side, for however long, has bolstered us already.
"You have my support. And my sword, should you ever need it."
And...that posed a problem. Mitsuki would be going places Delilah couldn't follow. If she got into any danger and got hurt in her name, she would be responsible.
After a moments contemplation, Delilah fished in her pocket with her free hand and pulled out...a curious looking pen.
Smiling, Delilah pressed it into the palm of Mitsuki. "Lucky bullet. One that was aimed for my heart that went through my arm instead. It functions as a pen now..." a mischievous glint entered the mechanic's eye. "...If you're ever in need of me, press the back of the nib with your thumb."
The first would release her hand and step back from the table, still smiling a bit. "Do you need to rest here for the night? I can offer you a warm shower and hot food, if you need it."

And the hand was shaken! Mitsuki nodded in thanks, unsure of how else to respond when she offered her support and sword if ever she was in need. The fact that Delilah even offered to be of aid in her quest back to the motherland was more than enough.
And then, in her palm, she felt something small and cool press against her skin. Eye brows briefly furrowed, feeling albeit uncomfortable because she was not accustomed to accepting gifts; exchanges, yes, but... She stared at the bullet-pen in her hand before her eyes flickered up to Delilah. This item clearly had some sentimental value to it, and Mitsuki was just...completely baffled on how to reply.
Though the smile Delilah gave when describing the item certainly made Mitsuki curious as to what this pen could do. A brow arched ever so slightly, almost tempted to just press it right there and then- but she withheld herself and slipped the item into her pocket.
"...I feel like 'thank you' doesn't really justify how thankful I am."
And at Delilah's offer, Mitsuki gave a slight smile and shook her head.
"Thank you for the offer though-- oh, but if you could relay to 'Unfettered' that I'll be visiting in the future? Hopefully when he's a little less busy."
Honestly, she would tell him herself except she didn't want to interrupt him working. And since Delilah and 'Unfettered' seemed to be around each other often, well...
OOC: Busy excuse added so that thread can end, hehehe.

Delilah nodded calmly, still smiling as she withdrew her hand. "I certainly will. It was a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Park. We'll speak again soon."
Later that night, Delilah sat behind her work-table in her 'office'. She stared broodily into the dark ahead of her without really seeing the lifeless corpses of the hearts of vehicles and their various limbs strewn about like some psychopathic surgeon. Her elbows were propped up on the surface of the desk, her chin balanced on the bridge formed by her interlocked fingers. Beneath the desk, her shod foot tapped impatiently against the ground.
Before her was a sheet of paper covered in her untidy scrawl; a missive to 'Unfettered' regarding the meeting that had taken place earlier with none other than Mitsuki Park.
...She wondered what his reaction would be? Something wasn't quite sitting well with the mechanic, but she could not place what was bothering her.
Just paranoia, perhaps?
...and she still wanted to know who had said that she was the future of the allied forces, of all things.
Frowning slightly, the mechanic sighed and picked up her pen once again.
