She was neither expecting nor anticipating the blood to suddenly solidify and spike into her...which was actually quite foolish of her, considering what she herself was capable of. While her Qi coated most of her upper body, there was a little spot just behind her shoulder that had opened up at just the right time as the blood spikes attempted to spear her flesh; she hissed in pain, belying the actual, shiver inducing sensation caused by one of the spikes as it broke the skin and penetrated the muscle.
But god damn did that suck.
Where the blood spikes scraped against her metal Qi, it produced a sound that set the mechanic's teeth on edge. But not as bad as the Qi making its way through her body...that sensation was enough to make Delilah want to tear out her whole circulatory system...if only she could move her arms.
In spite of her worsening situation, Delilah grinned as he rushed her. He was a tricky bastard...time to see if she could out-tricksey him.
Just before his kick landed on her jaw, a long spike formed on her cheek. When the kick made contact, to no physical pain for the mechanic *, his foot would stick to her face, the spike spearing through the sole of his boot and into his foot.
And what perfect timing, for his leg raised as it was, to kick him square in the balls?
She may not be able to move her arms...but the mechanic could do without, if she had to.
If the kick landed, the spike would meld back into her skin and she would rush forward; she dropped her body, aiming a sweep for his legs to knock him off his feet. The momentum of the sweep would bring her up to her feet whether or not it connected, and before he could hit the ground, she would punt him somewhere along his back, plant the leg back down, and raise the other to kick him as far away from her as possible.
Testing the limits of his Qi.

Rai would be surprised when his foot got impaled, he should have thought that through, of course she can manipulate her Qi. He would ignore the pain but if Delilah was watching closely she might notice that his foot wasn't bleeding. Then-
"Oof!"
Rai spouted as he was kicked away, but Delilah wasn't going to get distance that easily! Rai pulled the connection that he had on her attempting to yank her up and towards him with the blood inside her back.
Right when he landed the pain of being kicked in the balls hit him making him tense up sending a pulse down the blood line into Delilahs back where his blood would harden and distort inside her body, forming and creating spikes of blood randomly stabbing at her muscles and tendons, before calming down as Rai recovered from the pain.

The sensation of the blood spikes shooting through her metal body was...indescribable. It wasn't exactly painful, as metal coated her vital organs and veins and arteries; which was good for her (and him, in the long run; if she had started internally bleeding, things would not end well).
But it was also the most uncomfortable, madness inducing feeling she had ever experienced.
An instant later, the sensation faded and she let out the breath she didn't know she was holding, lungs rising and falling rapidly. Well. Now she knew how to torture herself. Grand.
Seeing Raikotsu lying on the ground a ways off, Delilah shook the remnants of the feeling away and stalked forward towards him.
"You know, this would be the part where I jump on your head or stab you in the...eye."
IT WAS WEIRD THAT HE LOOKED LIKE UNFETTERED.

Rai got up as she came stalking towards him and smiled as she said that. He then reached up to his eye patch.
"You mean this eye?"
Rai said as he removed the eye patch revealing a solid black eye made out of Rai's black blood. It would roll to look at her then when Delilah was within range it would shoot out of his head aimed for right between her eyes, it would splatter on contact and Rai would attempt to make it cover both eyes before the blood hardened into place.
Using the hopeful distraction Rai willed the blood connection in her back to lift her off the ground then Rai charged at her forming a glove of black blood around his fist aiming for a punch straight for Delilahs metal covered gut. If it didn't hurt her maybe he would at least knock her back a little bit this time.

As Raikotsu pulled away his eye-patch to reveal a blackish red fake eye made of what could only be blood, Delilah's metallic eyes widened in surprise.
(So something Unfettered would doGODDAMMIT[/s][/i])
Things happened very quickly after that.
The eye shot out of it's socket and headed right for her. Delilah bobbed her head to the side and sped up her momentum, pushing the ball of her foot off the ground so that she went from a saunter to nearly a full on sprint. The distance would be closed in a fraction of a second.
The blows aimed for him would come fast and hard; a baseball bat kick to the side of his knee from a slight angle, meant to unbalance him if it landed. A chop aimed for his neck, to disorient him. As this hand came back down and around, she would shift forward, aiming an upper cut for his solar plexus, then a hook for his jaw. [/font]

With the blood eye attack failing and the element of surprise now being flipped on him he had no time to react take the hits hard and full on, and went flying backwards after the onslaught. Rai would hit the ground hard and would lay there a moment struggling to stay conscious.
After a moment he would slap the ground with his left hand.
"I yield."
Then Rai would manipulate the blood out of Delilah's back as quickly and painlessly as he could. Though as far as movement went he would only roll over onto his back. Panting hard and hurting in more places than his mind could register.
"Good fight...?"
Rai said stating a matter of fact and hoping that he had earned some kind of approval, or at least hoped he did well enough he wouldn't get scorned...

Delilah watched as Raikotsu flew back and hit the asphalt, internally wincing. Yep, she knew that feel.
Movement around them attracted her attention for a moment; a small crowd of citizens had formed around them to look at the spectacle of the First and the white haired Dragon (who bore a strong resemblance to the Zero Crow) sparring in the middle of the street. She masked the surprise she felt and gave the onlookers a small nod as if to say 'business as usual', and turning her attention back to Raikotsu as he smacked the ground with his palm.
"I yeild."
Relaxing and relinquishing her Qi back into her skin, Delilah strode forward towards where Raikotsu lay, looking down at him as he struggled for conciousness. She could feel the blood that wasn't hers moving out of her body; it wasn't as unpleasant as it had been when it entered her body, but it didn't feel good.
"Good fight...?"
Delilah's lips quirked in a smile and she offered a hand to help him up. "Yeah. Good fight. You might rely on your Qi too much...but it's unique and you can manipulate it well. Well done."

Rai accepted her help up and would wobble and sway a bit favoring his hurts. But he would smile as she spoke.
"Yeah I really should go back and relearn the basics, I've kinda lost touch with my original physical training, but thank you for the compliment."
Rai would stand up as straight as he could and bow to Del then he would wince in pain and return to the wobbly, swaying, hurt stance. Then he noticed the on lookers and blushed a bit, he didn't realize how many people they had attracted and just watched him get his ass kicked to kingdom come.

Noting the onlookers again, Delilah would smile at them all as she turned on her heel, walking away from the scene and beckoning for Raikotsu to follow.
Once they were far enough away from the area and the citizens had gone back to their duties (with a new story under their belts) Delilah would speak up, "I asked you once before if you would swear your loyalty to me over your sensei, Mathew. If you insist on also becoming a Crow, I do not see how you could maintain your loyalty to one or the other without either the question of a conflict of interest or injuring relations wirh the other side."
She turned her head to look at him slightly as she walked, raising her eyebrows promptingly, inviting him to speak.

Rai would stand up as straight as he could holding his head as high as he could to not look as weak in front of the crowd and he would follow as Delilah left.
As they walked she asked her question which was a reasonable one but he was unsure how to put and so he thought for a moment trying to word it right.
"Well... I don't know if I'm going to explain this correctly but... I am loyal to my master, possibly even to a fault. But that is because on the day he accepted me as his apprentice he made both Kiyr and I give him something we considered valuable. For me I handed him a Qi infused Bokken handle that Leon had given to me. It represented my life and I was placing it in his hands. So, as such my life belongs to him. But I only serve him completely, not even one of the other Dragon Elders would matter if it was against his will. So as far as a conflict of interest my masters only interest is to see our two factions united against the threat of Barker. I don't think we would come across any internal conflicts that would force me to pick between, my master, the crows, or the dragons. As far as relations go, the reason I'm asking to join the crows is to build relations which is what Mathew wants. I understand your concerns completely but Leon seems to think that this will be beneficial and I trust that Mathew has only the best planned for the future but I honestly couldn't tell you what that plan is, because I don't have a clue."

Delilah raised an eyebrow at the white haired man (seriously, it was bothering her), impressed by his optimism...and saddened by his naievity.
"Did you know that your Master and our Zero Crow do not get along?" she said softly. "David Blaze is also not fond of him either. I'm not sure where Leon Sudeki stands with him, but I also know that 'Unfettered' is not loved by a good portion of the Gods.
"There's a lot of bad blood here. If one person believes that a decision would make their own faction weaker, then nothing would get done. I have been doing my part to alleviate it as much as I can.
"This is why I have not attempted to join Dragons myself in a show of solidarity. It could compromise everything I have already worked for because I would be forced to choose between my loyalty and what would appease the alliance and keep everyone happy. I want our factions to be united against Barker, but that does not stop people from maintaining their own agendas. A single gang must be ruled by someone; how would we determine who has final say?" she tsked and shook her head sadly.
"Internally, the goals of the Dragons and the Crows might be the same, but our execution methods are completely different. Right now, an alliance is what works best for us because we can all continue to run our own agendas in tandem without stepping on any toes.
"What do you think?"

Rai nodded as she spoke. He knew that there were some issues between the groups but he didn't know to what extent. Though he himself had formed no hate towards anyone in any faction. What do I think... he pondered for a moment before responding.
"I understand that each gang has its own agenda. As well as I understand that our alliances are shaky at best. Something I realize we don't have a lot of is trust. Trust is important and something we need to join all the gangs under one banner that will benefit everyone. I realize that I am young and don't hold a lot of clout with many people but this is my effort to come in and do my best. Dragons trust me and I am trying now to come into the Crows to earn y'alls trust. Then maybe someday I shall try joining the gods, I am already on good terms with Hades. But that shall be a future venture, either way I do realize your concerns and they are valid. I can't tell you what will happen in the future, and I don't know what would happen if I was asked to do something that the other gang didn't approve of, but I like to think that I am not with out some sliver of integrity and I might have a little bit of sound judgement locked away in this head of mine."
Rai would say pointing to his head.
"I will do my best to handle whatever situation I'm in with little to no complications. But with everything I don't know for fact, I do have some hope for the future. Like I said I may not be very notable right now but possibly in the future I might count towards something and all the rough edges, that I'm going to have to fix, will be nonexistent or small enough to not matter making it easier for gangs to transfer between the two more easily and with more trust. I know how uncomfortable and different this might be for you but I ask you, please, trust me."

Delilah smiled gently as he finished speaking.
"It's not a question of your integrity or the soundness of your mind. I agree with the necessity of this position and your arguments are valid...just not right now. Right now, we need to do what's best for our people and maintain the alliance we already have. With such different methods, in order to preserve peace, I must decline your request.
"For now."
Turning, she placed a hand on his shoulder, reassuring.
"You didn't hear this from me, but I am already working on something with one of the Dragons. Nothing so lofty as total unification, but it's a start.
"In the meantime, as far as running interference between Dragons and Crows goes, why don't we work off of each other? I will take your word as I would one of the Elder Dragons, and I will come to you first if I have a concern that needs to be brought up before the council of Elders?
"How does that sound?"

Rai thought for a moment after she finished speaking before nodding.
"It sounds as though someone wiser than me has come up with a better solution than I could see. I thank you for the time you have spent with me to come to this decision. I would also like to ask if it would be alright if I stayed her in crow territory until my master sends for me. If you would like me to have an escort present that is fine I would just like to stay here and learn what I can or pass on any knowledge that might be of some use. My master sent me here for a reason so I assume there is something I'm meant to do."
Rai looked at Delilah awaiting her response.

Delilah tilted her head slightly to the side at Raikotsu with a calm, gentle smile as he spoke. Internally, her mind whirled.
Mathew wanted Rai to spend his time in Crow territory rather than with the Dragons, mm? Interesting. She didn't want to read too much into it, but she knew what Mathew was capable of, and that he had plans. The likelihood of him sharing those plans with anyone other than Bastille (she even doubted he would have told her what the plans were) was very, very slim. Not knowing what those plans were worried the mechanic greatly.
...
Delilah nodded her head with a small smile, "Of course you can stay. A Crow will be assigned to you for the first couple of weeks to be your shadow as you take in the area, just to ensure you're acquainted. Our policy is to allow anyone who wants to stay into our land.
"But if you're going to live here, you're going to have to work."
Her smile widened a touch.
"We won't keep you in any one place, though. Odd jobs around the territory will pay your way in food and your board. That should allow you to glean the most amount of information that you can while you're here. How does that sound?"
If he wanted Raikotsu to study the Crow territory, which she assumed Mathew would want to look for any signs of weaknesses and irregularities in their defenses or structure (if that in fact was his purpose; it could also be completely benign [though Delilah doubted it]). That was fine; any Dragon, God, or wandering Civilian was allowed to walk through their borders and ask for asylum. That was their way. The Crows had nothing to hide.
"Do you agree?"
