Daniel would be standing at the edge of the lake, his hands in the pockets of his overcoat and his shoes just barely touching the water. He has a collapsible metal staff he recently acquired with him.

Suddenly the waves picked up almost out of nowhere and a giant wave headed straight for Daniel!

Daniel continues to hold onto his staff like his life depends on it even though he's been knocked down! Which it does. He grows tired of the waves already and defiantly holds out his hand at it, like he was Moses commanding the Red Sea to part.

THEN! For what seemed no apparent reason the waves stopped in mid air just hovering it would seem for a few seconds before they all just crashed back down into the lake. All the waves had stopped.

Daniel would blink owlishly at the waves suddenly stopping after hovering for a minute in the air. Not that he's complaining mind you. He slowly moves towards the shoreline of the lake, slowly lowering the tip of his staff into the water. He's going Moses again it looks like.

Then suddenly all the water that was on his body would ice over. He was now cold, and probably would have a cold. Lesson taught: Never play in the water AFTER IT TRIED TO KILL YOU!

That's cold bro. Daniel's eyes widen as the water turned to ice, and would try to break free from the ice, unconsciously trying to control the ice in the process. He was touching the water, and the water obeyed him once before, so it should work... right?

Daniel honestly rather be cold but "dry" than a human icicle forever. Lesson learned, he immediately backs up from the lake front, but not before venting his annoyance. He picks up the biggest rock he can find, and when he was far enough from the shoreline, hurls it right into the lake.

... What? Daniel's expression turning serious, he thought he was hearing things, but no, he just heard someone yell "ow"... from underwater. Picking up a rock smaller than the one he just threw, he'd chuck it into the water, to test a theory. Either someone was using Qi or... the water was alive.
