OOC: This takes place in Texas
David pulled on the wrench, setting the bolt tight on his front tire. He had just done some repair work on his bike, and after oiling it up and getting it running smoothly, decided to change the tires for ones with more tread. Sweating profusely in the heat, he would head over to the small garage and ask the owner for a drink.
Taking a long, refreshing swig, David would use the excess water to wipe his hands on his pants before saying goodbye to the mechanic and hopping on. Not more than a few minutes later, he would arrive at the hotel that he and Mitsuki were staying at, heading inside to try and locate the former School Captain.
OOC: Short and crummy. My apologies haha

At the hotel, he would find a note saying she went out to the park they had passed on their way to the hotel, with all her items laying in her room. And at the park, Mitsuki would be found with a blindfold on, training with four other Texans. They went down easily enough, her senses merely heightened without her sense of sight. Besides...she couldn't show struggle or reveal weakness against four grunts; she knew that she and David were being watched, and with David acting as her body guard she knew she couldn't break out of her role.
Her movements were quick and precise, hitting each mark with unprecedented accuracy. When the four were knocked down, she would remove the blindfold, sweating not because she was tired but because of the intense heat. Dang, it was so much hotter here than it was in California.
They hadn't done that bad of a job; their heavy footsteps and panting in combat was mostly what gave them away. Something they could all work on via cardio.
Her white shirt was drenched in sweat and she regret wearing black jeans on such a hot, sunny day. Bah- she needed to invest in some shorts.
The four would leave soon after, and Mitsuki would fall onto her back and stare up at the sky. So far, some progress- but they weren't working as fast as she would have liked...but she had patience. Things would soon fall into place; she and David would return back to California...and then their second journey, if David would join her, would begin. But that was thinking too far ahead.
"I wonder how Kira's doing," she muttered aloud.

"She's okay. I wouldn't worry about her."
Though he understood how she felt. He folded her note and stuffed it into his back pocket. Sitting in the grass along side her, he would glance up at the sky for a few moments before switching gears.
"How is the training going?"
It had only been a short period since they had arrive, but Mitsuki acted fast, garnishing attention for them quite well. She had taken it upon herself to start training some of them, while David took up the mantel with plenty of the others who were either excited to learn, or disbelieving of his strength.
He made sure they didn't forget him.

Mitsuki wasn't worried about the little girl, she just missed her. Mitsuki had taken up a rather somber mood these days, not particularly for any reason either. Was she finally getting a little homesick? No- she didn't miss Chicago and their ridiculously cool winters, but she missed the people.
"Well enough. They're progressing."
So far they hadn't run into much trouble, which was good. She tilted her head to look at David.
"And on your end?"
How long had it been since leaving California? A week and a half?

He nodded.
"It's gone well. I fixed the distributor cap on the bike, and got in some training with a few of the commanders. I'd hoped to have some solid meetings by now, but I understand the difficulty. They don't know us, we don't know them. So- they have us watched. Right now, I only count four keeping an eye out. Few days ago, it was eleven."
He glanced to her out of the corner of his eye.
"Do you know who sent them? Or can we assume it's a mix?"

"No. Though I suppose it's a good sign that we're being watched."
Mitsuki's head turned toward the right, away from David, her eyes gazing into the general area where she knew two were keeping watch. She lifted a hand in that general direction and waved. If the numbers were decreasing, that probably meant they didn't see them as a threat (or at least, not a huge one) any longer. Especially since she and David were giving nothing but kind intentions toward those that approached them.
"Have you displayed your qi in front of them yet?"

David smiled.
"Not a wink of it. If it comes to it, I'm saving it as a little surprise. My... power in that area has grown exponentially in the last few weeks. Hopefully, so long as we're here, I'll never need to display it."
David would look at the roof across the street, the shine reflecting off the binoculars of the other two. He pulled at the collar of his shirt a few times, letting the air circulate inward. When he said not a wink, he meant not a wink. He didn't want to change the air around them and have some sensor detect it. No, he buried it deep, and let it rumble, so if it came out, it would do so in a rush.
"I wonder what's thrown them off so much... Was it something I said?"

The two gangs that she and David had a run in with, based on their symbols, had something to do with lightning and fire- both something she could display via her Qi. But, for now, she kept hers lying dormant, using it sparingly when her bike needed charging. So she knew that her ability...or at least, a part of it, had been noticed.
She chuckled.
"No, I think they're just weary. We're outsiders, after all."
Outsiders who were clearly holding back on their display of power.

He grinned.
"Well, screw this then. Lets do something. Lets go swimming."
David wasn't about to just sit in the heat and wait for someone to decide they were good enough to invite into the fold. He hadn't been to texas since before the bombs fell, and never with this heat. So... he would attempt to inspire them both to get a tad bit of fun in.

She frowned.
"...I don't have the proper attire to go swimming."
But she got up anyway; anything to get out of this heat. This weather was just freaking ridiculous. And it wasn't as if the lack in 'proper attire' ever stopped her from dipping into the water before. She had, on multiple occasions, dipped into a pond-like area with her old lover. Heh- those were the times...
"Lead the way."
She would gesture with one hand, giving a slight, if not even a mocking bow. She and David had already initiated and requested for an audience. If the Texans were going to make them wait, then might as well do something fun or worthwhile to let the time pass.

David would stand with Mitsuki and grin.
"Well, we could probably check the hotel shop- they would probably have something your size."
Luckily for David, he had already seen some shorts in the store, and could purchase some without issue. He was glad the place even still HAD a store...or a pool, what with the bombs. Then again, some skyscrapers were still standing, so he supposed he shouldnt be too surprised. He would lead the way toward the shop, looking to the man at the counter and requesting access to bathing suits for Mitsuki. The man gestured lazily toward the back, not bothering to look up from his "readers digest". David would cock an eyebrow before shrugging and heading into the store for his own shorts.
Once grabbed, he would walk toward where Mitsuki and wait- the girl probably wanted to try one or two on, so he would sit in a chair and put his hands behind his head, taking a deep breath and waiting patiently.

Mitsuki eyed the selection of bathing suits with slight disappointment. Why were they all so...showy? She picked the simplest-looking one in her size and made her way into the fitting room, stripping herself down quickly to get this process of 'trying stuff on' over with. She never liked keeping people waiting, and it seemed that David was quick to pick out a pair of shorts. When she slipped into the two piece suit, she stared at herself in the mirror and lightly scowled. She should've just told David that she was fine going in as she was, jeans and all. Blargh. She quickly changed back into her street clothes, and with the bathing suit in hand, walked out to find David waiting. "You done?" Question asked out of courtesy, even though she saw the shorts in his hand. She would walk toward the cashier, purchase the swim suit, and wait for David before going back into their hotel, which she assumed would happen for them to change and grab towels.

David nodded.
"Yeah, I ain't picky."
As she would move toward the door, he would place a hand at the crook of her elbow to stop her, his eyebrows drawing down as he stared at the door for a few moments. Through the glass barrier, there stood seven men, wearing rather cliche looking biker clothes, some of them with spikes on their shoulders and even different colored mohawks. They were all staring at the door, as though waiting. David would point with his chin.
"Friends of ours?"
He meant that, perhaps, they were from one of the gangs she had seen the other day...though none of them seemed like the types.

"Definitely not. Potentials, maybe."
Why so many of them would congregate in front of a store was beyond her, but for all she knew they might not have anything to do with them. That didn't mean there was potential for the group to become 'friends'...though, just in case, she blinked and simultaneously turned on 180*... She didn't want any trouble, and although she knew David could likely handle seven men on his own, she weren't sure if these men were "normal" fighters. Meaning, anything goes in Texas- they could be excellent in combat for all she knew, even though they looked like they were straight up brawlers (and no brain, ehehehe).
"Are they looking at us?"
She just wanted to make sure she wasn't crazy. They did not look like friendly people, but... Meh. She would step forward, expecting David to either follow or lead (do bodyguards follow, or lead? o_0). She was cautious. She already made herself known to the groups she thought was good for the alliance- because they seemed to have a solid hierarchy in their factions, and loyalty amongst members. The plan was to be allied with them and hope for those groups to form alliances with other Texan factions so that Mitsuki and David could either return to California, rest, then move on to either the midwest or east coast. So to start anything with this group that could potentially not be a 'good' group...she kind of hoped these mohawk bikers weren't there for Mitsuki and David. But with no one else in the shop except the employee running it...
Only one way to find out is to walk out the door, right?

David followed Mitsuki, hands in the pockets of his coat, as they exited.
The men stood and would prevent them from walking further. One man stepped forward.
"We had heard you arrived from our partners in the area. My name is Nick Quantrel, light sublieutenant of Free Flight. We were commanded here to make contact with you, and to discuss...business. Do you have time now or...did we interrupt something?"
His eyes flickered to the bathing suit in Mitsuki's hand before he looked back up to her eyes. David, meanwhile, never took his own eyes off the group as a whole, waiting patiently.
