(OOC: Title is reworked from the very first Fullmetal Alchemist episode title, back in 2003, "To Challenge the Sun.")
In a secluded junkyard located in Dragon Territory, a lone figure was standing in the middle of the piles of discarded items, some towering over him, some barely reaching waist height. Having sent a challenge to all three Elder Dragons, Kazuya picked this location as it was a place very few would even come to. Perfect location for a fight with an Elder Dragon.
Clad only in a loose black tank top, a pair of black fireproof pants, tailored by Elise as per his request, and black and red shoes, his Qi already activated, mainly to help him "see." Though he was going to challenge one of the three Elder Dragons, he wasn't going to fight with enhancements granted to him from his equipment.
He was going to fight with just his natural strength, speed, stamina, wits and guile. He would fight only with his natural capabilities, to earn a name.

David landed gently, eyeing Kazuya and noting that no other Elder had arrived yet. No matter- he wanted to test Kazuya in more ways than just strength.
He didn't greet the fire user as he would normally greet a dragon, instead he started to speak.
"As its just you and me, for now, lets talk Kazuya. Lets discuss your desire for your name, and prove to me, with words before fists, why I should believe in you. Because, while the other dragons may accept eligibility based solely on power, you know me, and you know i just cant think that way. If you cant convince me you are worthy mentally, but are able to prove you have strength, you will still earn the title. But in the end, it will only be a name, and the name on its own is meaningless"
He would start to walk about, inspecting some of the cars.
"Tell me why you want a name."

His back facing The Storm Dragon, Kazuya would not turn around immediately to face David as soon as he started speaking. Instead, he would slowly turn his head to look behind him, his pupil-less gray eyes barely visible, before turning around fully to face David to answer his question.
"... Years ago, you remember I told you for all my life... I wanted strength. I didn't want those things precious to me to be taken from me anymore. But to have strength means to invite disaster to come your way. And strength alone... cannot really protect you. The Dragons... It is more than just a name, it is a way of life. In the past, I wanted nothing more than to protect Emily, and now that she is dead, I cannot uphold that pledge. My pledge however, has shifted not only to my daughter, Kaori, but to all the people and those under my command. Forgive the cliched line, but with great power, comes great responsibility. To be a named Dragon, is in essence, just a name only. But the responsibilities that come with it are more greater than any other. I want a name because I want to do more than just protect the people, I want to do everything in my power to preserve their precious lives... even if it means sacrificing my own life to do so."

David stopped, using one hand to toy with a horse on the front part of the hood of a car as he spoke after Kaz was done.
"I understand your morals and reasons for desiring strength. They are similar to my own. But a name will not give you strength. It wont protect those you love- in fact, it will make you, and them, a target. So what is it about the name you want? The respect? The prestige? The desire to announce yourself to others as the Fire Dragon? Everyone has a reason for stepping up and trying to take a name. So what is yours?"
He waited. This question was tricky, and could earn Davids respect as a named brother, or animosity for the reasons Kazuya fights for one.

"... It is neither the respect nor the prestige, and most definitely not the desire to announce myself to others as The Fire Dragon. It is the honor. The honor to be ranked among those I considered, for a very long time, role models, not just in strength, but in morals and ideals. To step up and try to take a name is not a right, but an honor. The risks to those I care about are great with being named, but I will protect them my way..."

David turned to look him in the face.
"Honor is clean. Respect is clean. Strength is clean. Rarely is power and prestige given on clean terms. You know what every Elder and named Dragon has in common, why all of us fought for and took our titles?"
He removed his jacket slowly, then his sword. And gloves and boots. All he had left were his weights and his pants. His torso was scarred and toned, and he held his arms out to his sides.
"Desire, Kaz. The base of almost all reasons for doing what you do. You desire a drink, so you get water. You desire food, so you eat. We desire freedom from barker, so we fight. The reasoning by which all are convinced, including you, of having a name comes down to yours and their desire to seem respectable. But in the end, we desired the name, each of us. Not because we desired prestige or honor or strength- but we desired something bigger. A representation of our individuality. A name that reflects our soul. We became brothers in that Desire, Kaz."
He removed his weights before He shifted his right foot back, his left hand open with palm toward the ground. His right hand he brought up in a clenched fist and held it under his chin.
"Don't try and convince yourself, or me, of your honor. Or of your respect. We are friends, And I already know these things about you. Accept the reality of what is, what we are, and what you wish to be. Come on- try and take what you desire, Kaz, and prove to yourself your worth."

"... Then I will defeat you to fulfill my desire to earn a name representing who I am, the reflection of my soul."
His eyes burning with the fire bequeath unto him, a flame red aura would surround his entire body, shredding his tank top to pieces and causing his hair to spike straight up from the sudden burst of power, leaving him clad in just his pants and shoes. Taking off at David suddenly and without warning, at the very last second, he would launch a simple left jab, his right fist held in front of his sternum, not only to protect his mid-section, but also as a counter against David's inevitable strikes.

Leon is sitting at the edge of a lookout point for his Tower with Yun who was giving him a play by play. Though no action, he figured Blaze would want to talk.

David wasnt going to play cat and mouse. Kazuya had proven may times he had the muscle. Now David would force him to use his head and take some damage in the process. As Kaz dashed forward, David couldnt keep up with him. But luckily, he had egged the man forward, so as a precaution, David built a wall of air two feet high between himself and Kaz.
When Kaz ran forward, his legs would hit a barrier the blind man didn't know was there and would probably pitch forward. While some might stumble, kaz was likely rushing to display his impressive speed so it was more likely he would fall-
-right into Davids fist, who would have thrown A hard right haymaker for Kazuyas head as he fell, the shock from his fall making a defense improbable. When/if his fist hit, it would explode in a pressure grenade- the effects of which Kaz has felt before. Of course, Kaz was alot stronger, now, so it may not put him to sleep would would still hit hard as stone with the proximity of Davids fist, and even if he somehow dodged the punch it would blow the man away.
OOC:
1: (LEVEL 2 ABILITY) Pressure Grenade This is a small amount of pressure sucked into a fist and blasted outward with enough force to knock those within three feet unconscious unless their constitution is higher than Davids charisma. Regardless of whether they are put out cold or not, the explosion can still cause damage with a force equal to the users Charisma, and blow the person away.

Surprisingly, Kazuya had not been rushing to display his impressive speed, instead, he was moving fast because... well he was moving fast. Colliding into the barrier of wind David had constructed, he would end up pitching forward, but as he had not thrown a strike yet, his arms were by his side and would fire streams of fire from both hands at the ground, as propulsion to push him back, David's hay maker hitting his cheek, as opposed to slamming right into his face, the pressurized air David released with the punch combined with his own propulsion blowing him back even further away.
Firing streams of fire from the bottom of his feet, burning away the bottom of his shoes, to counter the explosion and regain his balance, Kazuya would immediately drop down to the ground lightly, his cheek stinging slightly from the strike, but nothing he couldn't handle. Holding his open right hand below his chin, his left fist held in front of his sternum, Kazuya would absorb the remnants of any heat energy and store it in his arm and leg muscles, before taking off once more, not moving at full speed this time, but still reasonably fast.
Once he was just within range, Kazuya would pull his right arm back... only to fire a concentrated blast of fire from his fist, which would explode and send a scatter shot of fire shooting at him.

David waited for the man to close in, for his brain to accept the reality of his own assault, before Davids body seemed to flinch as air was sucked into it*. As kazuha attacked with a fire shot, David crouched and rolled left, the wind around him shimmering. As David rolled, he would stop once his back hit the earth. Then the wind would take his body and spin it, his leg stuck out in an attempt to sweep the fire user off his feet. Even if it didn't work, Davids hands would plant on the ground, and the air would lift his lower body into the air.
Retracting the leg he tried to trip Kaz with, Davids other leg would strike to try and kick Kazuya in the chest. Then David would flip over backward and onto his feet, taking a deep breath and waiting. This was the first time he fused the air with his body and the area around him, melding it with his fighting prowess. It was time to test it's prowess.
OOC:
* (LEVEL 3 ABILITY) Martial sync -David has learned to meld his Qi into his movements in a way that supercedes prior uses of the power. Generally, once is used in tandem with martial ability, but rarely in conjunction with them. This gives him fluid movements and the ability to do things generally impossible to do with flight, and fight hand in hand with the very air around him.

David may control the very winds itself, but he wasn't going to sweep Kazuya off his feet that easily. Avoiding the leg sweep simply by dashing backwards, as the kick came for his chest, Kazuya would fire duel scatter shots of fire from his hands while simultaneously ducking and moving to the side, bringing his hands up in front of him in a typical Karate stance. Much like how a firebender from Avatar: The Last Airbender incorporated their fire into their various martial arts moves, so too had Kazuya learned to fight using his fire Qi in conjunction with his strikes.
And he would use what he had learned by propelling himself forward using his fire once more, leaving fire tracks behind him as he charged forward, pulling his arm back once more, before firing another fire blast, this time the fire forming the shape of the character 大.

As Kaz leapt backward, David used the wind to propel himself feet first in Kazuya's direction, the blast of fire landing where his body used to be, nearly singeing his hair as he would attempt to now knock the fire user off his feet by kicking the front of the mans shins. This would, if successful, force the fire user on top of him, where David's hands would wrap around his neck and attempt a headlock, while wrapping his legs around the mans waist for a classic guillotine.
He would push and pull like a lever, his hips acting as a fulcrum, but only for a second or two- Kazs' fire was likely to engulf them if he stayed to long, and the small amount of the attack he could get in could hyperextend muscles in the neck or back, making it painful for the man to move.

"Balls!..... Can't see."
Leon would still be listening to Yun explain the battle, while Mathew likely watched. He really didn't like not being able to analyze this himself. From what he could hear things where pretty exciting.

As David propelled himself forward and attempted to kick the front of Kazuya's shins, he would expel a huge burst of fire from the entirety of his front side, not only resulting in a giant blast of fire hurtling straight for David and exploding in a scatter shot of flames, but would also propel Kazuya backwards, hopefully avoiding David's attack.
If he was successful, he would then slam his left fist down onto the ground, and with a resounding boom, a fissure would open up in front of his fist, the ground cracking before David, before branching off into three cracks, two surrounding David and one beneath him, as the ground would light up with flames issuing forth from beneath the ground.
Kazuya knew David would not be taken down by this so easily, no way in hell.
