Jamal-kun is sitting outside in the courtyard. He stands up, flexing his calves as a butterfly flies across his field of view.
It's wings are blue, with black stripes flowing through them. it picks up in the wind like that one scene in a Butterfly Effect. That is what the movie was called, right? He can't remember. But yeah, that butterfly is pretty swell. It's rare to see one so beautiful, and come to think of it, large. I mean, is that too large for a butterfly? he can't tell. On one hand, he hasn't seen to many butterflies in person, you know, because of all the bombings, but on the other, it's pretty damn big. if he had to guess, he'd say 30cm, but that seems off for some reason.
This brought his mind to something else. Just what was he doing at this school? He isn't sure how it happened, but he just woke up on the bench and here he was. This reminded him of a story his mother once told him as a child.
Speaking of children, he swore to god that butterfly could pick one up. I mean god damn, if he had a camera he would take a picture.
Anyway, back to the story his mother told him: "Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil... But a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future where my evil is law. Now the fool seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Aku!"
He didn't completely understand the story, but apparently his mother was into a Samurai named Jack for some reason.
Anyway, Jamal waits to see if anyone will show up to greet him. He taps his foot on the ground with a soft sensation that reminds him of the dinners he used to eat at home before his parents were kidnapped.
