~Waves~ (Eurydice/Invite)

[Kazuya Hikari]

On the outskirts of Santa Fe Springs in Dragon Territory, cliffs rising up against the backdrop of the sky above, a small river snaked its way through the surrounding palm trees, terminating at a rather high waterfall emptying into a small pool of water, surrounded by palm trees, an enclosure of sorts. Sitting beneath the waterfall, a lone figure could be seen sitting beneath it, the water crashing down full force onto the figure's head and back.

His eyes shut tight, sitting cross-legged on top of a flat wide slab of rock, Kazuya would continue to meditate, ignoring the bitter cold water crashing down on top of him, the water running in streams down his muscular upper body. A thin veil of steam forming from the cold water making contact with his skin, as his body temperature was higher than usual, making it seem like he had a mild fever, an effect of his Qi, he had been here since early in the morning. Dressed in just a pair of black fireproof long shorts, the rest of his clothes were neatly folded and resting on top a rock far a bit away from the pool of water.

The days that went by caused a vast of different emotions in me from day to day. Mood swings were certainly a recurring theme with me depending on the situation and the people I came across. The constant contact with kids was becoming so frustrating and unbearable. Not knowing where my daughters were and my son abiding by Sudeki family traditions. When I decided I wanted kids it was for them to have more of a normal kind of life. But what was really normal about my life anyways. Besides if I wanted normal why would I have married Leon. Ya know lately I've had plenty of time to reminisce about that decision. The why. The attachment. I love him sure but lately it's just feel like those feelings have been starting to shift, twist and turn mainly because I wasn't allowing myself to feel anything about things. And whatever was going on with my body wasn't helping much. I have no idea what possessed me to take up duties for Oleysa, maybe the need to potentially do something since leadership seemed so absent. Or maybe because it would give me the necessary excuse to leave Dragon territory.

Needless to say I really needed to get away for a bit. I needed to go somewhere a bit more serene. Heh, that's funny coming from me. It's rare I want that sort of quiet. But maybe just maybe what I really want is a bit more of some kind of entertainment. Some fun. Something of a thrill. Something to get my adrenaline rushing through my veins. This girl was missing some action. Yet here I was hiking my way to a waterfall.

.::Eury was clad in a deep red sports bra, with black spandex shorts, sneakers and a backpack that held some essentials including a change of clothes if she felt the need to. The closer she drew to her destination the cooler the breeze and the more calming the scenery became. Reaching the waterfall at first she didn't notice the other in the falls::.

I'm crazy right? I kinda want this calming experience but at the same time I just wanna do something fun, and wild and crazy. Like being a teenager all over again.

.::Sighing::.

First relax, meditate some crap out and then find some entertainment. Ok Eury that sounds like a plan. First this waterfa- oh hello?

.::Eury's eyes planted on a figure in the waterfalls. Seemed like she wasn't the only one with the same idea. Her head tilted a little trying to make him out. Moving a bit closer she noted the clothes on the rock and decided to set her bag down, removing her sneakers and socks setting them there as well. A smile appeared on her face as she stepped into the area, not letting the cold water phase her. She was used to different conditions. The smile was because she knew who it was, being that she's seen him twice now and finally placed a name to him. At first she spoke no word just entering the waterfall and taking a seat, cross legged just to his left. It took a moment to adjust to the force but she found it with ease::.

Ah it's the blind fire bender. Heh explains the steam, well in more ways than one probably.

"Hey, guess we both had the same idea.. Kazuya right?"

I guess it wasn't normally for me to start conversations but I wouldn't want to be rude.

Deeply focused in his meditation, Kazuya did not hear the sound of another person stepping into the pool of water nor the person sitting down beside him on the slab of rock. Even when the voice of the person beside him spoke up, he did not react immediately. Instead, he slowly cracked open his left eye, glancing over from the corner of his eye, only to see the person that had joined him was...

"... That is correct. Eurydice correct? I suppose we did have the same idea. Though I am quite sure our reasons for being here differ. I came here for training, to improve my endurance against low temperatures. May I ask what yours is?"

The cold of the water was so relaxing, more soothing than I was expecting. The slight heat coming off Kazuya was helping me maintain a pretty even temperature without having to focus so much, which admittedly I am certainly loving right now. Less work for me!

.::Her body visibly began to settle in more, taking a few breaths until his voice broke through the momentary calm. Her eyes remained closed as a smirked crossed her face, the water raining down on her::.

"Heh yeah, well that just doesn't seem fair now doesn't.. You're clearly already prepared for the cold.."

I mean clearly he seriously had that covered. A little cold from the waterfall I really doubted was going to even begin to do anything. I mean I'm not saying I know everything, but assuming for a fire user this should just be a walk in the park. I could be wrong.

"You should try a tundra then, trust me that'll really test it.."

Of course there were no tundra's around but still. It was just a mere suggestion.

.::She sighed slightly, letting the water continue to wash over her form::.

"For me, I needed to get away from the world I guess.. Really nothing spectacular or meaningful about my reasoning..Just the need to release some stress."

And how. Stress on so many levels. I've been trying to maintain it. Avoid being still for too long, but now all my moving is adding to it. I can't get a damn break.

"... I suppose I am... Which must mean I was in actuality just giving anyone that happened to come here a good view. I suppose that would be you then."

Kazuya would comment dryly, his eyes closed and a calm and focused look on his face. It was true though, the effect of his Qi made the water feel like a warm bath to him, this was nothing to him. But funny Eurydice would mention the tundra...

"... Been there, done that."

Tested himself in the tundra he meant. In his sophomore year of high school, he and the rest of the prison students of Public High School #650 had been sent to another prison school, Point Hope High, this time in Alaska.

"I suppose that's one way to relieve stress and get away from the world."

That's all Eurydice would hear from Kazuya though, as he would stop talking and focus back on his meditation.

"Ooh is that so? Then I must be a very lucky girl.. Glad I didn't have to pay for it.. That's so generous of you to provide a free show."

Yes it was a bit of flirtation on my part but he started it. He opened the door regardless if it was kinda dry. Ya know, I kinda found people who spoke in a dry humourous manner to be a bit entertaining from time to time. Their humor just seemed a bit more natural and unforced. Oh and their sarcasm was golden. Oh look he's been to a tundra already? Oh wells there goes a potential of a trip for him. Why am I getting the sudden feeling he might've gone to most places I could suggest? Meh, whatever. Moving along.

.::Silence fell over the two as Kazuya seemed to try to just get back into his meditation. Eury's eyes opened slightly to peer out of her peripheral towards him as his form was occasionally disoriented by ripples of water that pouring and the steamed that rolled off him. A small 'hmm' left her lips and she closed her eyes trying to find her focus and meditate along with him::.

Ok so I came here to relax. To just ease the stress out. The kids. Leon. My memory lost. My lack of control on my power. Taking in these duties. Questions unanswered. Oh fucking hell I have too much on my damn mind for this crap. All I've done is run around the city constantly. It's so damn frustrating in so many ways it's not even funny. I can't meditate with all this noise in my head and then there's that heat coming off him. Maybe I should move over.

.::Throughout her thinking Eury occasionally shifted her body in her seated position. Unknowingly making a few huffing sounds from time to time which was an outward showing that she was indeed frustrated by something. Her body finally settled and all was silent again, but now her eyes opened from time to time peaking at him again::.

Ugh! I'm so damn bored! Normally I can take this pretty seriously and I had every intention in doing so when I came here. But then I got here and he's here and now... I think I want to more or less have fun.

.::Mischieviously she looked from the corners of her eyes and without warning would splash more water his way and quickly sit still like nothing occurred. Straight faced, eyes closed. Blind or not she still would do it::.

"... Sure it's free... for the first minute. Then you have to pay."

How exactly she would pay could be taken in more than one way. Focusing on his meditating and clearing his mind, Kazuya would hear a hmm come from his left from Eurydice, followed by huffing sounds, clearly telling him she was frustrated by something... or some things. If this was an anime, he'd have a sweat drop on the back of his head as he had this expression on his face: -__-;

I can't concentrate!

"..."

Hearing it go silent after a little while again, his expression would gradually return to cool and calm, once more focusing on his meditation... until he was splashed in his face. Cracking his left eye open once more and looking over at Eurydice's direction, his Qi activated and allowing him to see her heat signature and facial features, he wasn't fooled one bit by her act, but would not say anything, keeping quiet and close his eye once more. Instead, he would engulf both his arms in flames, the temperature of the flames hot enough that they would not go out from the water, and causing more steam to form and cover more of the area.

Really? Nothing huh? Nothing but some flame arms and more steam. I'm starting to feel like I'm in a sauna. You know a girl could take a girl creating steam like that in other ways. Not to mention that innuendo. Wow what the hell am I thinking right now? My mind is swirling in random directions. I mean I know I can be random at times but yea ok let's move on. I now officially need to be distracted otherwise my thoughts will run rabid. He has got to be more fun than this.

.::Eury peaked from the corner of her eyes once more at him trying to figure if she could get anything out of him at all. Anything besides a load of steam, which could potentially make a hot spring. Wouldn't that be nice. Eury waved a hand in front of her to clear some of the steam from her face which right now was starting to make comical expressions of pondering::.

It's not hard to see that he's clearly not an easy man to break here. But the humor is there just need a little push to get some kind of reaction. Hmmm..there isn't too much I could do right now other than, well shit I'll just do it again.

.::And do it again she would. But this time she didn't noticed the sudden purple glow on her hand as she went to splash more water onto his face. But now a very small concussive blow would end up hitting the side of his head. Not enough strength to do anything but making it feel like someone bopped him in the head. As she was in the middle of closing her eyes she caught sight of the purple psy energy as it just hit him. Her eyes immediately going wide. Anime wise she would've probably shrunk to chibi size, flinging her arms around bouncing around him apologizing repeatedly. She did quickly attempt to crawl over, and quick was an understatement it was almost comically instantaneously. Completely ignoring the force of the water like it didn't exist::.

"I DID NOT MEAN TO DO THAT! I mean, I meant to, umm.. well the water I meant..but not the other thing... That was so NOT intentional."

.::Ironically though she started to cutely laugh or rather giggle in between her next words. She really was sorry but was actually starting to find it funny::.

"Hehehe, I'm sorry I..mean no I'm - hehe- I'm really sorry...But, hahaha, it was kinda funny...it was like splash and then 'boop'..hahaha..I- ok ok ok - I - whoa!"

.::Midway in her laughter filled speech she had stood up and forgot where he footing was on the rock they were on. It wasn't hard to tell that she just slipped and if she wasn't caught, she was certainly going over and into the pool of water below. Would serve her right. More than likely it wasn't going to be a lessoned learn::.

Once more Kazuya would find himself splashed in his face, but unlike the first time, a small blow would hit him on the side of his head immediately after the splash, causing his head to jerk slightly to the right from the impact.

"..."

His eyes slowly opening, he would engulf his legs in flames this time, creating even more steam before glancing over to his left from the corner of his eye at Eurydice, only to jerk slightly to the right in mild surprise as she suddenly filled his vision from quickly crawling over to him.

"... Hah."

Though he didn't say anything aside from the small laugh torn between amusement and exasperation, from the wry smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, it was clear he wasn't annoyed or irritated by her. The wry smile would quickly disappear however the moment he saw Eurydice slip and begin to fall towards the water. In a flash, he was on his feet as the fire would recede from his arms and his right hand would shoot out and attempt to grab hold of her left arm and pull her back towards him.

If he managed to grab her in time, she would find herself held right up against him, more or less making sure she could catch her balance and not slip again.

"... Try not to slip again. It would be a tragedy if you twisted your ankle or injured yourself."

.::Annnnnd safe! Well sorta. At least she wasn't falling into the pool below anymore. But that didn't reverse the fact that she still got water in her lungs from leaning back and the water splashing in her face. If it wasn't for his quickness she would've went without no problem. But now there was a new problem. Her formed pressed against his with the heat he was still apparently emulating. Clearly she felt it more than before. Her face was more planted between his neck and shoulder. But see the problem was she was choking a little. Coughing from the water in her lungs and then the rush of steam through her nose when he dragged her in::.

I guess that serves me right doesn't it? Karma can be a real bitch can't she. But then I have human radiator here coughing me more with the steam coming off his body. Which umm, is kinda nice actually. He works out a lot..and the warming sensation is pretty soothing and ent ... stop it Eury!

"*cough* Good hands *cough*"

Good hands indeed. Could come in handy in many ways.

"*cough* Tragedy..haha *cough* I doubt it'd be that *cough* bad.. Damn I think I got it out *cough*"

.::Took a bit but her coughing finally stopped as she caught her breath. Both hands were still placed on his chest for the support. Or to cop a feel::.

All this, I got a little laugh out of him and was that a smile earlier. I believe it was. But is he being mister serious again? Pfftt.

.::Eury would try to look up to his face, speaking with a playful tone::.

"Did I hear laughter earlier and was that a smile? So you are capable huh?"

.::A playful pout and a mocking tone::.

"Don't be so serious."

.::Her right hand would reach up and extend her index finger to poke his nose, then retract back to it's previous resting place::.

I mean geez I wasn't trying to work so hard for entertainment and I'll be damned if he's gonna be frowning the whole time. A handsome guy with a constant frown, no no no. Yea I can admit he's attractive. Why can't I? Actually why am I still here like this? Yeah somethings wrong with me huh. I should probably move.

.::But currently she didn't. She had her footing now though. Wouldn't it be funny if he threw her in for the laughs? It would and then she would seek revenge for certain::.

"...I just have good reflexes. I would think of it as a tragedy, even if no one else would. I'm glad you're alright though."

Wouldn't she like to know how good his hands were. Continuing to keep his arms wrapped around Eurydice, Kazuya would hold her against him until she regained her balance, smiling wryly down at her as she looked up at him and giving a casual shrug of his shoulders.

"I think it was. I'm not completely serious all the time, we've just happened to see each other during serious situations."

His wry smile slowly turning into his trademark smirk, he would raise one eyebrow as his nose was poked, continuing to look down at her as he let go of her, as it appeared she had regained her balance. Casually folding his arms across his chest, he would in fact, not throw her in, but would instead engulf his arms and the rest of his body in flames once more, creating a thick layer of steam that would blanket the entire area, hiding him completely from view.

Let's see if she could find him.

Oh? Well isn't he a caring soul. He would think it was a tragedy huh even if no one else did? That's saying a lot. Actually that is pretty sweet considering. Can't say the same for some people. Some people just don't care as much as they probably should. It's so funny how everything was panning out and we barely even said 'hello'. There were many ways to get to know someone and it didn't have to always start off in the most orthodox way.

"Hehe well that's good to know. I should make sure to avoid serious situations with you then."

.::As he released her she obviously did as well watching him cross his arms. Once they went aflame her brow perked and steam again filled the area more. She was used to training in the dark so her eyes normally adjusted well to such a thing. Steam however was different. She certainly couldn't see which meant she'd have to rely on other senses, but then there was the roar of the waterfall too. Training blind for over a year wasn't fun but it was helpful, yet was it really helpful here?::.

Oh ok, so now we're playing hide and seek. What kind of cheating nonsense is this huh mister. I seriously wouldn't be surprised since he controls the fire that maybe just maybe he could read heat signatures. I mean it just makes perfect sense to me that he would, unless I'm wrong. So not fair, but ok I'll play. I like when odds aren't always in my favor.

.::Eury smirked, trying to wave away some steam from her face. Speaking with a humor in her tone::.

"Very cute."

.::She said carefully taking a step forward, putting her right arm out and waving it. It went forward first to where he was standing, she assumed he wasn't there anymore hence the arm waving. He couldn't have gone too far in, doubtful there was that much room. So she would advance slow with caution::.

Heh this is actually getting entertaining.

Eurydice would obviously receive no reply from Kazuya, and though she could not see through the steam, he would continue to slightly smirk away. With his Qi, he could indeed make out her heat signature, and could only continue smirking seeing her stick her right arm out and wave it in the spot he used to be standing at, but he was no longer there.

Instead, he had moved behind her and was now standing to her left, close to the waterfall, his footsteps masked by the roar of the waterfall, and would watch her advance cautiously. Though the steam was thick, his flame engulfed body gave off a bright enough glow that it managed to cut through the steam, though very faintly.

.::A perceptive and cautious woman like herself paused before even remotely moving any further anywhere. Something was pulling her from going forward, a feeling. There was a sudden rush a warmth that came on her. The steam might've been one thing but fire still gave off a little extra something. Eyes caught the faintest glow but the it flickered wasn't from before her. Behind?::.



He's behind me? How the fuck did he get behind me? I know I couldn't see or hear all that well but still. Shit if this was Kilik right now he'd probably say I was close to death. I wouldn't be dead because I might have an opportunity to defend but still. Shit. Ok buddy, not bad.

"Your heat is betraying you Kazuya."

.::She said it musing with calmness. With a quick half turn she would step and lean to reach for him. If she missed that was really going to suck cause she would be falling forward and that meant she was going over and into the pool. Which would be funny indeed. If she caught him well then they both we're going over cause she was going to push him. Evilness for the win::.

Watching Eurydice step and lean towards him with a quick half turn, he would quickly step to his right, though not quick enough, and would end up caught by Eurydice, the both of them sent into the pool of water. The flames engulfing his body going out immediately purely from surprise, beneath the cold water, Kazuya could make out Eurydice on top of him, and likewise, she would be able to make him out.

A look of surprise initially on his face, a smirk would soon slowly form on his face as he would begin to make his way up towards the surface of the water, breaking through it soon after, and as they were now behind the waterfall, water would not be crashing down on top of them... as much.
