What's in a Name? [Mathew]

[Kyrie Blaze]

"I meant in the sense of overcoming Barker. I know...what you say, now." She paused a moment to consider, eyes gleaming before she blinked. "Thus, I could take a name right now. And to take Eldership."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"You're welcome to try. If you think you can hold it."

He quirked and eyebrow at her words. And cracked his neck.

[Kyrie Blaze]

A mirroring quirk of Kyrie's brow appeared.

"There is no try."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"How are you gonna do it?"

He was interested.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Did she really want it? Was she? Would all her hopes and dreams be put on hold or could she manage like David or Mathew in that regards? It was priorities. The Dragon Core would be a priority, but wasn't it right now..?

"How have I not? I have fallen, yet I have gained respect from my peers once again. I have arranged groups for the Groves and continue managing them, and delegate when I can not be there because I am running needles into Barker Territory for information on movements. To which, most everything is fairly quiet. We have some nuisances trying to poke through but they are easily contained. Gaining and commanding the respect of the rest for recognition of status will come. If not immediately, then with a little time."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"But do you think you can do it?"

He propped his feet up over the arm of the chair, his gaze fixed on her. Weighing her with a considering, yet foreboding smile. Things were moving forward as planned.

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Part of me is aware that I am not ready to be an Elder, but that is that I am not ready to handle such a feat alone. That is why there is more than one Elder, because running this gang is not a one-person job. It is something I take to help ease the weight."

David's reaction from her discussion...she had to step up, because she could. And it was what she was driving towards, anyway.

It was more than she had right now. But, she would be fine. She believed that because she wasn't alone.

"I will."

[Mathew Amtrum]

He waved her away.

"Don't tell me then. Go tell everyone else."

Should be interesting. He would need to make sure he had a seat for that one. He imagined it could lead to a domino effect. Oh how much fun that could be. To see what still stood when the ashes settled. Or if things would even crumble at all.

It would appear that she was ready for her final test. The test to see if she was accepted. If she could grasp the title herself.

Kyrie stared at him for a few moments, then pushed herself up from the couch with a deep breath. She could tell, somewhat, he was leading her in the direction he wanted her to be in. And while the words she said were true, she still doubted she was entirely ready.

But, she wouldn't let them see it.

"Am I a Nameless Elder or am I grasping my own Name, as well?"

"If you are declaring yourself then do it yourself. Not my job to hold your hand."

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie remained looking at him for several long moments. Like she wasn't sure that this would be the path she should take. She didn't expect it to be easy, either way.

Her lips pressed into a thin line, eyes bright and somewhat narrow.

"No, it is not. But I hope I am not being directed to disaster, regardless."

Because she perhaps needed to, she leaned down, grabbed a quick hug, and straightened, gaze quiet and thoughtful but firm. If this was what she would have to do? Not for herself, but for him and them?

So be it.

He let her hug him, returning it briefly and when she straightened out he just stared at her. She was afraid of him leading her to disaster? Well it wasn't an unfounded fear. But in this case he was fairly sure that she could do it. If she followed through at least.

She had rebuilt herself after being torn down, she shouldered her punishment. She built stability from dust on her own. She was impressive, which is why he chose her to be an apprentice. She belonged to Mathew.

And Mathew only took the best.

Kyrie's head tilted one way, then the other. She would...trust Mathew. That he really wouldn't steer her wrong, at least in this. An exhale passed between her lips. She moved towards the cribs and peeked down at the girls, one by one, remaining silent.

A small smile curved the corners of her mouth and lingered when she turned back to Mathew as she stepped towards the door.

"Have fun with your little girls. Give them a kiss for me."

She would leave, quietly, but displaying confidence.

"I shall. Do what you gotta do Kyrie."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Always."

She murmured, audibly, on her way out. Back home.
