Turning on the Lights (Kiyr/GM)

"Come on, not now!" He whispered hastily, rubbing his hands together desperately. This was the last one, he couldn't fail now!

Lucien looked around for a battery, or anything battery powered. Even a small one would carry enough charge for him to use. He needed to find a solution.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Lucien finds no backup batteries within the substation itself and even the friction between his hands wouldn't be enough, he knew.

Perhaps he might have better luck outside..?

[Lucien DeChain]

Lucien threw down his hands, heading back the way he came, and out of the station, activating his Qi as he did, in case anyone was around or watching. Looking around, he would try to find some other source, like a backup or a transformer.

[Kyrie Blaze]

It all depends which direction our fearless Lightning Dragon goes..! Where does he go when he heads outside?

Lucien goes oh I don't fucking know let's say North.

As he heads around the Northern side of the substation, Lucien can feel a slight electric tingle.

However, it's obvious that there's nothing on this part of the outdoor area.

Lucien stops, feeling the tingle. He decides to stay close to the substation. Searching all around the close proximity of the station, he searches for the electricity he could just faintly feel.

...Warm...

...Warmer...

[Kyrie Blaze]

...getting warmer...

...warmer...

Lucien rounds the corner and the faint buzz becomes stronger. As he looks around after doing so...he can see it at the far corner: a backup battery sitting outside the substation.

But why wasn't it drained when he was inside..?

Whoah. That was a serious change. Lucien looked around, and noticed... A battery!

Making sure the coast was clear, Lucien moved towards the battery. Inspecting it, he would watch for any traps or anything it was connected to. He could feel the energy coming off of it; even being in proximity to it was giving him a slight charge.

If everything looked savvy, Lucien would put his hands on the battery, recharging himself. Immediately, he would feel better, and once he was fully charged he would make his way back into the building.

Going back to the place, he would look around for any spots that might cause problems. Bad connections, blown fuses, anything that would cause a break in the system.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Lucien, recharged and feeling better - and having done this several times already - would quickly find that a breaker switch needed to be reflipped.

Everything else was good to go.

One breaker.

One single flip of a switch and he was done.

Click.

He held his breath as he spiked energy into the system. Hoping it would work. His dream of a self-sustaining system... Of power for Long Beach. Would it come to pass?

[Kyrie Blaze]

For all Lucien's hard, grueling work...it came to pass with a soothing hum of power with his boost. Very quiet for everything that had gone on. It would have been a disappointment, to some, that it wasn't...well, more. It was peculiar, though; practically all the energy he just soaked up from the battery outside seemed to drain into the charge, leaving him feeling even more exhausted than before.

...something something rapid charging cycles and too much use...

But he would have enough energy to safely make it back home--where he was likely to pass out for a couple days!

AND GO HOME AND PASS OUT HE WOULD.

But not before having a silent celebration in the generator room when the machines whirred to live. Bowing his head, he sighed as the fatigue washed over him. It was over.

Walking out of the building, he made sure no one else was around before checking on the man he had -

Killed.

Oh.

Lucien paused for a moment as he realized the man was dead. Perhaps he was giving some sort of silent prayer, and that would have indeed been plausible if Lucien were at all religious. In the end, he patted down the man to see if there was anything useful on his person. Then, he began his long walk home, using his Qi sparingly and only to avoid patrols and such.

It seemed the man had nothing of any real value on his person, which was unfortunate. Lucien does, however, find some jerky!

YAY FOOD.

It came in handy on the way home, if he ate it. For he had to use his qi more often than he would have liked...but still had enough energy to make it home.

Safe and sound in his bed, snug as a bug in a--zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
